Well, I bought the HTC HD a9191 morning, from other people.
I asked the device is returned to the stock rom so that I can upgrade by my self.
Fact, the seller just this unroot devices.
Now, I can't install a custom rom ...
When I try to install new custom rom, my dev get 7 vibrate and then blank screen.
I try to root by Kingo, easy ace root, windroid and FAIL! : ( Device restart and get 7 vibrate again!
BUT when I try to force out the battery and I try to turn it on again it back again, data etc.
I try to wipe the system in CWM also unsuccessfully.
Please help.
This may be a very frequently asked question, I got confused with the answer that much people say 'cause the give many option
Thank for advice
My device S-OFF and now stuck at JellyTime 4.2.2.
I've try to back to stock rom.
When I flash the radio.img, FAIL again!
I try to search in google for the error code, and I found try the dev with s-on.
Now, how I can get my dev back s-on without root, can I?
Thank for your advice.
Please give more info. Do you have Cwm or stock recovery? All you have to do is power the phone in fastboot mode and flash recovery. If you fried your radio I don't know if you can fix it.

its seems to me that you need an RUU
download the RUU as PD98IMG.zip it includs the system data radio recovery...everything
put it on your SD card (not in sub folder )
press and hold the vol.down and the power (reboot to bootloader)
it'll scan your SD card for the PD98IMG.zip
and then chose to install it
then do the S-off and root
falsh recovery..
that worked well for me

My Desire won't start up anymore, it reboots after about 15 seconds. This happended after installing the latest stock ROM from HTC. I am able to reach both the bootloader (HBOOT-0.93) and the recovery (Android system recovery 3e)
When trying to install a update.zip from here, I always get a "verification failed"-message. Any tips would be highly appriciated
What update.zip are you trying to flash?
I've tried a couple of the newest ROM's from the Desire section here at XDA. Downloaded, renamed update.zip, moved to SD, went into recovery and "apply update.zip". Verification failed comes immidiately
Sounds like you're trying to flash a custom ROM using the stock recovery. You do know you have to be rooted to flash a custom ROM?
Okey, so what should I do? Flash a stock ROM? Use a costum recovery? All I want is to get the phone up and running again
Well, you said you flashed a stock ROM already. Which one did you flash?
You could try a factory reset: Turn phone on whilst holding the back button and select 'Clear Data' and then reboot the phone
I've always had stock ROM, rooted with Unrevoked. I got an OTA update earlier this week, I don't have a build number on this but It seemed to install just fine. It seems this update replaced the custom recovery with the stock recovery (?) and as mentioned, the phone doesn't boot.
Factory reset doesn't help either.
I have the same problem on mz Desire. Rooted, but when applied the latest update from HTC phone just keep on rebooting every 10 secs. any sugestion?
TNX
You shouldnt be applying any updates to a rooted phone.....
What rom were you on? 2.29.405.2 or something similar?.....
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I was on 2.10 (i think) and stock rom (no custom)
Try flashing this...
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe
You will need to boot your phone into fastboot (power & back button) then connect it to your PC. You should see 'fastboot usb' on the screen. Run the RUU you downloaded.
This will wipe your phone and unroot it.

tnx
going to try it out!!
will post results
when i first rooted with unrevoked, then installed opendesire, i was stuck in a similar boot loop.
the solution was to boot into the boot loader and select "clear storage".
it then booted into opendesire straight off. a bit nerve racking when you think you've just made an expensive mistake.
i hope this solves the problem for you!
@slippy
didn't work, but thanks
@mike
erased it all, but phone is alive again. thanks
Is there any way to get back to the official froyo? cz after i did the alpharevx i fell my wf lost the htc sense. i feel somtehing different on the map. But the "flip to silent" geature still works.
Thanks for your answer
You need the Sense Fix, it is available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1156713
And if you still want to go back to the state before AlphaRev X, the procedure is stated here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160251
So you are on the htc sense rom and not installed any custom rom then follow this procedure.
1.Apply the HTC Sense fix ,procedure could be found on XDA
2.Do S-ON,procedure could be founded on XDA
3.Now you must also remove the clockworkmod recovery in order to recieve future HTC OTA Updates .For this email me([email protected]) and i will send you firmware.zip, download and rename it to PC49IMG.Place it on the sd card but before placing format the sd card to fat 32.Reboot the phone to HBOOT by pressing vol. down and power key.wait for the sd card to be checked and it will ask to update ,follow the instructions given on the screen and reboot the phone.
(cant post firmware.zip here due to the size limit)
AND YOU'RE DONE!!!!!
You have a completely unrooted device with stock recovery and no one can say that this device was once rooted.
P.S. If you have installed a custom rom the restore the HTC Froyo Rom backup to bring it to company state.
Make sure you restore the backup which you had made before flashing superuser, if not then restore the backup which you made and try to uninstall it from applications menu,if it does not uninstall then will remain there and i dont know how to remove it.
I had made a backup before flashing the superuser so there was no superuser installed for my case on restoring the backup
I also did this and was sucessfull in unrooting my device
Thanks for you both !!!
*Clicked thanks button*
But, my ROM is still DK Custom. How can i change it to be the Official Froyo ?
Flash an RUU.
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=windows mobile&model=Buzz
This will remove Clockworkmod Recovery, and your Custom ROM.
you must have made the backup of HTC rom after you had used alpharev-x and falshed the clock workmod recovery.Restore that backup
i didnt bakcup mine sadly
gonna try this one : http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...3.55.24H_3.35.19.25_release_151892_signed.exe
So, ive done the S-ON. then am gonna do the flashing with shipped ROM.

You don't have to recover someones backup. Why not flash the "safe flash zip" roms which are equal to stock roms. You can find their links in index thread.
And if you want complete stock including stock recovery then follow this. This eliminates connection errors of ruu.
In your windows PC click on start and type %temp% and enter. That opens the PC user temporary folder. Just minimize the folder. Now open your ruu (donot connect phone to PC). Donot go with the process, just keep the ruu window aside open. Now search for the file "rom.zip" in the temporary folder (use search function). The rom.zip will be present in a folder (with random name, which the folder name enclosed with {} brackets) . Now copy the rom.zip to a safe location and rename it to PC49IMG.ZIP. Now format your sdcard to fat32 and place the pc49img.zip at the root of sdcard. Now reboot to hboot menu . Then you will be prompted to do the update.
Make sure you have enough battery and do not interrupt the process by pulling battery.

Have you flashed stock hboot from alpharevx hboot. If yes, which hboot have you flashed. Is it 1.01.001. If this is the case then you need to use froyo wwe ruu.
If you are still on apharevx hboot then you need to flash stock hboot. This process was there in the Dev section. I suggest you to flash stock hboot 0.80 from the "ruu-buzz-htc-wwe-1.37" you mentioned. If you do this you can go with my previous post.
Let me know your hboot version.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
my hboot is like what alpharevx allow. not xxxxxxx2 but xxxxxxxx1
mine is already s-on but still have recovery and root.
i tried to flash the safe buzz but it says error
So what I got from your posts is --- you have used alpharevx to make the phone s-off. Then flashed aosp rom. Then as you are missing sense, you want stock rom with stock hboot and recovery. So, I think you followed the process to revert back to s-on. During that you have first flashed "Ruu_buzz_froyo_HTC_wwe_2.22.405.1". Then flashed fastboot command and stock hboot 1.01.0001 from that thread. If this is all what you have done, then just flash the "Ruu_buzz_froyo_HTC_wwe_2.22.405.1" again. And if you face USB connection errors, just make pc49img.zip with this ruu (the process that I previously mentioned).
Edit: And "safe buzz" zips should be flashed from cwm 2.x recovery. If you use cwm 3.x or above recovery then you need to flash 2.x recovery to use them. Again refer the index thread on how to.
And if you have previously flashed wwe 2.22.405.1 ruu during revert back to s-on, then flashing safe buzz is useless. Because safe buzz will not overwrite the custom recovery with stock recovery.

Don't worry. The given ruus are for wildfire. Buzz is the name of gsm wildfire.
Install HTC driver and try. http://db.tt/BOJCbnD. And exit other pc apps that use wildfire connection. Set the connection status to charge only.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I recently gained root over my wildfire using revolutionary ... now while this process I did a stupid thing that I didn't backup by stock rom... now I am running Cm7.0.3 stable (has some glitches) & I want to go back to stock Rom but I have some doubts
Suppose if I flash a ruu.exe of stock eclair will I loose my root & s-off ?
Simply put will my phone be deprived from flashing further Roms ?
*please ignore any spell errors...was typing from phone.
Thank u!!
Some RUU's have a new HBoot and some don't, look for a safe RUU without HBoot and you will keep s.off and Root.
i want to get s on again for that i need to flash ruu but if i flash a RUU with hboot flashing goes perfect or not ??
anything like brick or something like that is not gonna happen na??
Just choose the right RUU and everything will be alright.
will this work...?
will the below work?
RUU_Buzz_hTC_Asia_India_1.25.720.1_Radio_13.45.55. 24_3.35.15.31_release_142213_signed.exe
Please Rep...
Flashing the RUU will remove your root and Custom Recovery (Clockworkmod), but it will NOT touch your modified S-OFF HBOOT. Thus, it will remain at 6.01.1022 even after flashing an RUU.
pls confirm...
So it means that if I flash this ruu I will have to root my phone once again b4 flash a custom rom?
If that's right please suggest me (give me a link to download) a stock eclair rom which will retain my root, s-off & hboot so that I don't have to root once again to flash a new custom rom.
please please Rep...
Thank u!
The stock Eclair ROM's links have died unfortunately (And I dont have a backup of that myself)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807983
But you can get a Stock Froyo ROM which will retain root here (Download the Rooted Version):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877977
just confirming for the last time...
So if if I flash this rooted froyo ruu I will retain root + s-off & hboot right?
pls rep
Thank u very much
Yes, you will retain everything.
thank u
Thank u very much mate!
problem with flashing rooted Froyo Rom
After I downloaded the rom & tried to flash it with Rom manager it started & after the progress bar reached about 25% ...phone restarted & after that it shows the htc boot animation (quietly brilliant) & later within 15-20 sec it again shows the same boot animation & this process keeps on repeating (but the phone doesn't restarts)....what should I do ?
I'm stuck...buddy pls help
waiting 4 ur reply....help...help
Thanks..
Power off your phone, then restart in bootloader / HBoot mode (Press Vol Down + Power Simultaneously), then browse to Recovery and select it to enter Recovery mode. Here, perform a data wipe / factory reset, then flash this file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=662193&d=1311319218
This will give you temporary Clockworkmod 2.5 (Same as in ROM Manager), then try flashing that Stock ROM again
how do I flash this update.zip ?
how do I flash this update.zip ?
pls rep
thanks
Same way you flash a ROM, In Clockworkmod Select Install Zip from SDCard then select that zip file.
No Need for that...
Hey man u saved my ass...
as soon as I went to recovery...phone restated automatically into clockwork mod... I did what you said (wiped data/factory reset)...& the phone restarted with Froyo...like magic...
I was going to be hung till death by my mom & dad if anything wud hv gone wrong...thanks to you
A Million Thanks...
so....
so now still i can use the Clockworkmod recovery to flash custom roms in future right ?
---axxo----
Yes, you can. What you have at the moment is a Stock Froyo ROM, but with all root, Clockworkmod, and S-OFF intact, so you can switch ROM's, kernels etc anytime you wish to.

Sirs,
I need your help for my problem.
I tried to root & flash ClockworkMod Recovery image by using UnrEVOked_3.31. so by mistake the image file for ClockworkMod was corrupted. So during rooting & recovery process and after several reboot of my phone "HTC Desire", the UnrEVOked_3.31 said fail can't flash recovery image.
Then after I repeated the process again but by valid and good file image of recovery. but the process did not success, UnrEVOked_3.31 said failure.
Here, I stop and check my phone, it is working fine and I found Superuser app in application, So What does that mean, Is my phone rooted?
also, I went to HBOOT, then I selected RECOVERY in there, I saw HTC sing for part of second then return back to Hboot.
My desire information: SLCD display, Hboot v 0.93, S-ON, android 2.2
So, please give help, and I hope to heare you soon.
Regards
If You have Superuser app in application Your phone should be rooted , but if You can't open recovery something is wrong. Mayby try unroot phone to stock, and root again.
2) Or You can s-off with revolutionary and flash recovery with fastboot.
http://revolutionary.io/
Thanks for your kindly help.
before just half hour, I decided the following steps:
1.copy from SD the recovey v.2.5 have been downloaded from Rom Manager .
2.disable SIM lock and screen lock
3.use UnrEVOked_3.31 again for last time to flash recovery.
4.never touch phone until finish.
So, this time I sucessed and I flashed the recovery well.
You can use Alpharev's tool also, so go S-OFF and to use a new partition table with more data space.

To use alpharev, you have to be rooted.
@OP:
Which error message did you get when flashing?
Anyway, I recommend to use revolutionary (you get root and S-OFF in two very easy steps) :

Please help me guys! Here is the story.
I have MT4G and i bought a Desire for my girl. It came with CM 7.1 flashed(used phone).I wanted to flash another rom few days ago. After flash,it stuck on boot screen.I reflashed it correctly, but again a bootloop. So i pulled the battery and put, went to HBOOT>Recovery and restored backed up rom.It worked perfectly.
Today i downloaded Rooted stock rom and flashed it.After flash it stucked on Boot screen. So i went to HBoot and try to go to RECOVERY.I cant go to recovery. I cannotgo to recovery.Volume butttons dont let me to select recovery.HBOOT only checking PD..zip.What should i do?
Device is S-Off
Here aRE things i did.
1.Downloaded CWM recovery.zip and try to flash it.It doesnt work.
2.Try to get into recovery using ADB.It doesnt work.I have never setup ADB for this Desire(Only setup for MT4g).
I connected device via USB to PC and located platform tools folder, typed ADB DEVICES.It show somethimg about port number and doesnt show device id.This might be the reason that i cannt get in to recovery via ADB.
3.Downloaded Official RUU.exe and still did nothing.I thought it will be great if i asked you first. If i can do this via RUU,how should i connect this to PC.I mean should i connect phone when it stucked on boot screen or should it connect phone when it on HBOOT?
4.Also i did a foolish work.It let me know that it can read PD...zips.I renamed downladed rooted stock rom(modified) to PD...zip and put on root of sd card. Then got it to Hboot. It begun to read it and went back to HBoot because it is not original stock rom.
SO guys, please help me!On HBOOT,when i connect to PC it show USB connect or something(i cannt remember and now im in my office).See the attachment below.
Tell mre what to do.Please please...
