Is there any way to get back to the official froyo? cz after i did the alpharevx i fell my wf lost the htc sense. i feel somtehing different on the map. But the "flip to silent" geature still works.
Thanks for your answer
You need the Sense Fix, it is available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1156713
And if you still want to go back to the state before AlphaRev X, the procedure is stated here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160251
So you are on the htc sense rom and not installed any custom rom then follow this procedure.
1.Apply the HTC Sense fix ,procedure could be found on XDA
2.Do S-ON,procedure could be founded on XDA
3.Now you must also remove the clockworkmod recovery in order to recieve future HTC OTA Updates .For this email me([email protected]) and i will send you firmware.zip, download and rename it to PC49IMG.Place it on the sd card but before placing format the sd card to fat 32.Reboot the phone to HBOOT by pressing vol. down and power key.wait for the sd card to be checked and it will ask to update ,follow the instructions given on the screen and reboot the phone.
(cant post firmware.zip here due to the size limit)
AND YOU'RE DONE!!!!!
You have a completely unrooted device with stock recovery and no one can say that this device was once rooted.
P.S. If you have installed a custom rom the restore the HTC Froyo Rom backup to bring it to company state.
Make sure you restore the backup which you had made before flashing superuser, if not then restore the backup which you made and try to uninstall it from applications menu,if it does not uninstall then will remain there and i dont know how to remove it.
I had made a backup before flashing the superuser so there was no superuser installed for my case on restoring the backup
I also did this and was sucessfull in unrooting my device
Thanks for you both !!!
*Clicked thanks button*
But, my ROM is still DK Custom. How can i change it to be the Official Froyo ?
Flash an RUU.

You don't have to recover someones backup. Why not flash the "safe flash zip" roms which are equal to stock roms. You can find their links in index thread.
And if you want complete stock including stock recovery then follow this. This eliminates connection errors of ruu.
In your windows PC click on start and type %temp% and enter. That opens the PC user temporary folder. Just minimize the folder. Now open your ruu (donot connect phone to PC). Donot go with the process, just keep the ruu window aside open. Now search for the file "rom.zip" in the temporary folder (use search function). The rom.zip will be present in a folder (with random name, which the folder name enclosed with {} brackets) . Now copy the rom.zip to a safe location and rename it to PC49IMG.ZIP. Now format your sdcard to fat32 and place the pc49img.zip at the root of sdcard. Now reboot to hboot menu . Then you will be prompted to do the update.
Make sure you have enough battery and do not interrupt the process by pulling battery.

Have you flashed stock hboot from alpharevx hboot. If yes, which hboot have you flashed. Is it 1.01.001. If this is the case then you need to use froyo wwe ruu.
If you are still on apharevx hboot then you need to flash stock hboot. This process was there in the Dev section. I suggest you to flash stock hboot 0.80 from the "ruu-buzz-htc-wwe-1.37" you mentioned. If you do this you can go with my previous post.
Let me know your hboot version.

my hboot is like what alpharevx allow. not xxxxxxx2 but xxxxxxxx1
mine is already s-on but still have recovery and root.
i tried to flash the safe buzz but it says error
So what I got from your posts is --- you have used alpharevx to make the phone s-off. Then flashed aosp rom. Then as you are missing sense, you want stock rom with stock hboot and recovery. So, I think you followed the process to revert back to s-on. During that you have first flashed "Ruu_buzz_froyo_HTC_wwe_2.22.405.1". Then flashed fastboot command and stock hboot 1.01.0001 from that thread. If this is all what you have done, then just flash the "Ruu_buzz_froyo_HTC_wwe_2.22.405.1" again. And if you face USB connection errors, just make pc49img.zip with this ruu (the process that I previously mentioned).
Edit: And "safe buzz" zips should be flashed from cwm 2.x recovery. If you use cwm 3.x or above recovery then you need to flash 2.x recovery to use them. Again refer the index thread on how to.
And if you have previously flashed wwe 2.22.405.1 ruu during revert back to s-on, then flashing safe buzz is useless. Because safe buzz will not overwrite the custom recovery with stock recovery.

Don't worry. The given ruus are for wildfire. Buzz is the name of gsm wildfire.
Install HTC driver and try. http://db.tt/BOJCbnD. And exit other pc apps that use wildfire connection. Set the connection status to charge only.

hi,
as far as i found out today it was recommended not to install the OTA-update that has been provided by HTC because I would lose my Root-rights.
Since this is not a problem for me I wanted to install it - but it fails everytime with messages like
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
[...]
Would it make sense to install it maunally? the download over the air was no problem, so i could easily put it into root-folder, rename it and install it manually. but do i have any other negative side effects except losing rootrights?
regards,
andre
Bootloops for one..
The cleaner way to run it, is to run the RUU (Do create a goldcard before you do), then run the OTA as update.zip, as Nature intended..
And why on earth would you need an OTA on a rooted phone. Just get the latest rooted ROM which would be more uptodate..If you just dont want root, do as above..
Well, no in this case it's just run the 2.29.405.2 RUU then you've not got to bother about the OTA!!
First i try to install as "zip from sd" with clockwork. But I become bootlooping phone.
Then I try to install with goldcard. All was ok. But when am try to install an app from market, my phone restarted at the point of installation.
Is any other way to update without RUU with clockwork?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
In a word, no. You can try a hard reset but best way is to flash the RUU. Gold card only needed if you have a branded hendset

the major disadvantage is loosing all information. or is titanium backup able to restore everything? i don't believe so.
regards,
andre
Titanium works on rooted phones, so you could flash stock, root it and then restore
does someone know why installing this OTA-upgrade is failing with signature-message?
Don't flash it if you're rooted - simple as that!!!
understood that. but i want to get some more infos on that.
beside this, since i have to flash a new rom anyway: which is a very good rom you are using? will everything be restored by titanium backup, or will the screens e.g. not be backuped and restored?
I'm on stock 2.29.405.2 and not rooted. It's a good ROM. You'll need to obviously root your phone again to restore the backup
bad loop... ;-)
get back to official rom with OTA but without restoring the backup... or stay on root... i think i will stay on root now. i will try the update this evening and check for the restore how far it works...
thanks for your effort.
HELP!!!
i tried now several times to install a shipped rom (2.10.405.2, 2.29.405.2), but it is not working! it restarts my desire, and it stays with the black screen and white HTC letters... error 171 is displayed afterwards... how can i resolve it? i tried already to download a rom as zip and tried to install it via unrevokedrecovery 2.5.0.7 via "apply update.zip", but it didn't work as well.
can someone help me???
regards,
andre
edit: after installing htcsync it worked again...
YOU CANNOT DOWNLOAD A STOCK ROM AND FLASH IT VIA CLOCKWORK MOD!!!
How many more time does it have to be said????
If you wanna try flash a custom ROM you don't select 'apply update.zip' - you go to flash ROM from SD card and choose the ROM you want to flash. If you don't know how to use CWM why the hell ahve you rooted?!!?

I honestly didnt understand what you're trying.
If you want to get the system unrooted, back to stock, then:
Read FAQ 5 and get the PB99IMG.zip
After getting PB99IMG.zip, put it in root of sdcard/goldcard,
Switch Off
Switch on with Back and Power. Keep it pressed.
The system will detect the file and prompt
Press Vol+ to start the RUU
To install a custom rom, "Install zip file" from Clockworkmod.
4. Volume down + power, not back. Back will take you to FASTBOOT

You're right..From Fastboot, it's one additional key..
I have revoked my Desire version, and it have worked excellent untill now
Received the latest OTA on danish desire, install and since then I cannot use the phone
What I can do is
Boot normally, and it reboots to the white screen with a HTC logo, continues to reboot
Boot into Hboot menu
In the Hboot menu, It loads and checks the PB99IMG.zip and drops back to the Hoot menu. I have tried stock roms here and the LeeDroid V2.3B renaming both Zip files to PB99IMG.zip
If I enter the Fastboot option, I can select:
Bootloader, and I returns into the Hboot menu
Reboot, and it reboots.
Reboot Bootloader, it reloads
Power Down does as intended
If I select the recovery menu, it goes directly to a screen with a nearly black image, with a red triangle
It can clear the storage, and reboots afer 5 seconds afterwards.
If i plug in the USB cable it says Hboot USB PLUG
IF I try to run the "Fastboot erase cache " from the SDK, it just waits for the device.

any Idea on how to get my phone back to working condition?
Go into recovery mode and install a recovery.
RA-desire for example:

Pick any ROM you like and flash it using the recovery.
How do I do that? In recovery mode it just shows a red triangle? I have the SDK tools, and the RA recovery image, but I really don't get it how to install the RA recovery image, sorry

No Eddy isn't saying that at all. And I have to agree with him. Ur problem has been posted by countless other people and the solution too is on those threads. Just do a search here or on Google. You'll note that on those threads at xda, eddy himself has responded to most of them. It just involves resetting the phone to factory mode. Don't ask how. Search !

Solution to boot loop on applying OTA update over Rooted Desire:
Do the following in sequence and proceed with each step if the previous fails:
Fastboot (Back+Power) > Bootloader > Clear Storage
Fastboot > Recovery > Wipe
Apply the corresponding RUU.
And for the RUU, kindly see the shipped roms>Bravo page.
A ruu's no fun it's like accepting defeat.

You dont need drivers for the PB99IMG.zip method. See my thread "How to Unroot-Guide for Newbies" in my signature. You didnt mention your software version. Create a goldcard and use a WWE RUU with a software version equal to or higher than the version you currently have on phone. Read that thread completely before asking qns.
and the PB99IMg method worked.. The trick I missed was to extract it from the RRU.. Tnx everybody!
Hello,
I'm a real newbie and decided to root my Desire PVT4. The problem is that after that I decided to go back to the stock ROM and here's what happened:
1. In the beginning I rooted it with unrEVOked.
2. Then I used alpharev 1.8 to turn S-off
3. Then I played with various ROMs after I backed up my stock ROM from ROM Manager (don't know if that's called Nandroid backup).
4. But this morning I flashed a different HBOOT (first one for Oxygen, then one for Cyanogen) to the phone and from then on didn't manage to restore the stock ROM at all, I tried using PB99IMG_stock from alpharev's website but that didn't work. The phone was still working.
5. So I decided to flash what I think it's called RUU which I downloaded separately. It loaded in HBOOT and said it cannot change bootloader (probably because I've left it S-OFF) but itand then finalized it's thing.
6. Now when I turn it on normally it loads the white HTC screen and then gives me a phone with a red triangle sign in it.
7. When I turn it on with the power key + volume down key it loads HBOOT but I cannot access Recovery to flash another ROM.
Can you tell me if there's a way I can flash a recovery tool? And if yes - is there a way to turn S-ON back on that phone in order to install a stock ROM?
Thanks
I had the same problem a while back. And I am still a noob.. but this is how I fixed it... I ran an ruu just like u did to fix a bad partition. When u do that it overwrites ur recovery partition an u loose root and clockworkmod. So now u should just be able to run unrevoked again an see if that fixes it!
Let me know if it helps!
Thank you, but does unrEVOked work when there's no access to the Android itself?
EDIT: I managed to make it run - just flashed the stock HBOOT from alpharev and then reinstalled the RUU from the HBOOT. But why is it running now, the phone is S-OFF and it now DOESN'T have root? Is there a way to remove S-OFF or it's not worth bothering?
Hmm.. I would have thought unrevoking it would have turned it to s-on.. but thats beyond me. I think if you google "Unrevoked Forever" they have something called s-on that turns it back on. but i dont think they have it for desire.. But you have to have root access and Clockworkmod i believe.
I have it running now, but like you said - couldn't find a way to turn it S-ON with Unrevoked Forever.
Clockworkmod recocvery does not work on pvt4 desires. You have to flash amonra recovery. You are s-off, so you can do it via fastboot.
Lol just a heads up. Unrevoked forever doesn't work for gsm.
Swyped...
Clockwork DOES work with PVT4 phones. I have one and, so I know. I used it to flash yesterday (if someone wants to do a guide on how to get Amon-RA, then I'm all for that, please post it)
Download ROM Manager, if you can get into your phone and you can boot to CWM from there.
When I used AlphaRev 1.8 to S-OFF it installed Clockwork for me.
However, there's a thread here that guides you through S-OFF'ing, and there's a bit at the bottom of the first post about losing recovery and how to get it back.
How to flash your recovery using ClockWork's image :
Download Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7 recovery image from official AlphaRev thread for bravo.
Move the file into "C:\android-sdk-windows\tools" (default sdk android folder's installation).
Verify MD5 checksum of the image with a freeware like HashCalc or something (IMPORTANT !).
Go to the main menu of your AlphaRev HBOOT (turn on your device with return button pressed).
Go to "FASTBOOT" mode.
Go to your computer and open a new terminal (Administrator privileges required if Windows Vista or 7).
Enter exactly this (without ") : "fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.7-bravo.img".
Now you will have a ClockWork Recovery image installed and working
Note 2 : If your device freeze on boot logo, apply your Nandroid backup that your did before S-OFF.. that should do the trick.
Click to collapse
you are still s-on cause the new alpharev hboots are made this way (so the ruu doesnt overwrtie them)
if you want to S-ON download bravo_downgrade from alpharev.nl, flash it using fastboot or PB99IMG method and then run a RUU
if you want to go-on with custom roms just flash new recovery image with fastboot and then a custom rom, you dont even need to root your current rom
Thank you all, your advices really helped me. Thanks!
Sirs,
I need your help for my problem.
I tried to root & flash ClockworkMod Recovery image by using UnrEVOked_3.31. so by mistake the image file for ClockworkMod was corrupted. So during rooting & recovery process and after several reboot of my phone "HTC Desire", the UnrEVOked_3.31 said fail can't flash recovery image.
Then after I repeated the process again but by valid and good file image of recovery. but the process did not success, UnrEVOked_3.31 said failure.
Here, I stop and check my phone, it is working fine and I found Superuser app in application, So What does that mean, Is my phone rooted?
also, I went to HBOOT, then I selected RECOVERY in there, I saw HTC sing for part of second then return back to Hboot.
My desire information: SLCD display, Hboot v 0.93, S-ON, android 2.2
So, please give help, and I hope to heare you soon.
Regards
If You have Superuser app in application Your phone should be rooted , but if You can't open recovery something is wrong. Mayby try unroot phone to stock, and root again.
2) Or You can s-off with revolutionary and flash recovery with fastboot.

Thanks for your kindly help.
before just half hour, I decided the following steps:
1.copy from SD the recovey v.2.5 have been downloaded from Rom Manager .
2.disable SIM lock and screen lock
3.use UnrEVOked_3.31 again for last time to flash recovery.
4.never touch phone until finish.
So, this time I sucessed and I flashed the recovery well.
You can use Alpharev's tool also, so go S-OFF and to use a new partition table with more data space.

Guys, please help!! Yesterday I was so hungry for some ice cream sandwich, that I accidentally tried to flash a rom for HTC Incredible S onto my HTC Incredible! Only after the install failed (used Rom Manager, and when it rebooted, it was saying something about missing pb31img.nmh or some weird extension like that) did i realize what i have done. However my phone was pretty much functional at that point. I tried booting into hboot and doing recovery, but whenever i selected any of the hboot options (clear storage, recovery, factory reset), it would just reboot back into hboot. But at this point i was still able to boot into my phone. I tried backing up from saved images using Rom Manager, but when it rebooted, it always gave the pb31img message. Then it just froze. When i pulled the battery and plugged it back in, the phone just got stuck at the HTC Incredible white screen and would not boot. I've been searching the forums long and hard, but it seems all solutions assume i need to be able to boot into the phone, or to be able to simply use hboot to recover. None of these seem to be viable options for me at the moment. Please help with any suggestions as I wanted to wait for the Tegra 3 phones to come out before upgrading!!
fastboot and adb require phone to be able to boot. my phone does not boot into anything besides hboot. and even in hboot, none of the functions work. i was able to format my sd card and copy an img of the proper rom on there, and when i go to hboot->fastboot, it says "loading pb31img.zip" and shows the blue status bar, then says parsing "pb31img.zip" but that takes a second and then it just goes back to the hboot screen without installing anything!! does this mean i'm totally SOL now?
You can use fastboot to flash a stock image. You do not need to be able to boot to use fastboot, fastboot is thru hboot.
http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Fastboot#Fastboot_Commands
However if you can get into hboot (the screen with the PB31IMG.zip message), then you can just do an ruu thru hboot. It sounds like your missing or have a corrupt boot image. You need to download the PB31IMG.zip ruu file from here (http://pvillecomp.com/?page_id=22), place it on your sdcard in no folders and then reboot thr phone. Hboot will find the file and prompt you to press vol up to update. Once thats done press vol up to reboot. Your phone should boot now. You will have to reroot if you want.

OMG!!! Thank you soooo much! I can't give you enough thanks, you have no idea! I don't know why this one worked and lots of other cwm img files and rom img files didn't though! And i tried using the fastboot command through the terminal from the computer to flash this same RUU file, but it was giving me problems. But when i put it on the sd card, it worked right away. Now i have a phone to wait out for the Tegra 3!
Glad i could help.
Everything I have read so far says NOT to do any of that through a ROM manager. Could that be why his attempts to install a stock recovery failed?
This really helped me in my situation. I think I had an old version of clockworkmod on my Incredible and it wouldn't let me flash things correctly so it got me stuck in a bootloop but than I flashed the Froyo RUU PB31IMG.zip in hboot and it got my phone working again. Now time to re-root. (I chose Froyo because if you want to re-root with gingerbread you have to downgrade to Froyo which is a hassle)
Your device can not really be bricked. Impossible if you know what you are doing . Revert back to old rom after booting into recovery or choose a simpler from.

If you are s-off it does not matter whether you use the froyo or gingerbread ruu. That is the whole point of getting s-off, so that if an ota or anything else for that matter replaces the custom recovery with the stock recovery, you will still be s-off allowing you to flash the custom recovery right back without having to do all that unrevoked stuff again.
