[Q] Tasker & screen off - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use a Tasker profile that in case of missed call or missed SMS every "X" time, remind the missed event with a vibration in case the volume is <=0 or with a sound in case the volume of the phone is > 0.
The problem: this profile works only when the screen is ON but neither in the profile, nor in the task there is a condition about the status of the screen!
Tasker's accessibility service is already enabled.
Why other profiles that switch on or off WiFi or bluetooth work while the screen is OFF?
There is something special about Z1C, Tasker to know?
Any smart Tasker user can help me, please?

Are you using Stamina mode? That may be preventing Tasker from running when you turn the screen off.

I'm using Stamina mode but I have found a solution right now!
In task properties flag keep device awake... et voilà!
Thank you!

Smart Alert with Tasker ?

Hi,
I saw it's possible to make Direct Call with Tasker and I'm wondering if we can create a script with Tasker to make Smart Alert ?
Thanks for your response
try this:

thanks but this is for Direct call, not Smart Alert
Smart Alert
As soon as you pick up the phone after leaving it alone for some time, the S3 gives a vibrating nudge to notify you of all the calls & messages you missed in between that period.

Apparently it is not possible due to Tasker not allowing you to detect movement while the screen is off.

VIbrate not working...any ideas on how to fix this?

Everything was fine until Tasker switched profiles to Night Mode, which was set to vibrate. Afterwards I decided to adjust that profile and now I can't get anything to vibrate. There's no haptic feedback when I type or when I tap and hold an app to uninstall it. Any ideas on what the problem is?
edit: oh and I went into Settings -> Sound to make sure the vibrate options are checked off there, and then into my keyboard options to make sure they're checked off there too.
Um I can't get Tasker to show me the tutorial pop up any more. But I remember it read something like when Tasker sets your phone to vibrate that your phone cannot disable it. Try creating another task to enable volume.
Do you have a profile set up to set it to day mode? If so try adding a task to enable sound.

[Q] Anyone having trouble with 'Tasker' in car installations?

Hi everyone,
So I have mounted my tablet in the centre console of my car flush, the last bit is getting tasker to react in the correct way.
The problem I'm getting is that split second when you turn the key from 'on' to turning it over it looses power. This plays around with the profiles I have set up...
Has anyone made a task that will stop it from turning on and off and back on again when the car starts up or make it load smoother?
Thanks Chad

I don't know your exact situation or what your tasker proffile setup is, but couldn't you simply add in a wait for x seconds step in one of your profiles?
My set up is like this:
Profile - State - Power (Any)
Task:
Blue tooth on
Wifi on
Car home ultra open
Pop message
Profile 2: State - Power (invert)
Task:
Pop message
Blue tooth off
Wifi off
Kill Car home ultra
Screen lock
That's what I'm using at the moment but that split second just messes with it.. Makes it all muddled up as in a short time it's turning on, off and on again.
Would that time task you suggested bypass it recognising that it's losing power?

By no means am I a pro with Tasker, but you could probably put in a wait command at the beginning of the 1st profile and it may stay alive when the car loses it's power for that short time.
I'll give that a go and see if it works.
Will let you know of the outcome
Thank you!
It didn't work unfortunately..
Any other ideas, links, answers to help me out on this?
I would really appreciate it!
Chad.

Press and hold the Profile and select the properties and set the cool down timer to a value so that the profile can't attempt to run again so soon, but that might have unfavorable results too. So, since the power on sensor is causing this, you might consider splitting the task into multiple Profiles where the Power on only turns on the Bluetooth, with some other Profiles configured using net Bluetooth connected and Bluetooth invert doing the rest maybe?

Disabling Display Timeout not working.

I have apps like Smart Protector and Tasker that disable screen timeout for certain apps. But it doesn't seem to work display still timeouts. I'm not sure if there is some other settings that overrides it.

I'm having this issue too. I have to go to phone setting to manually set "Keep screen turned on", tasker will not do this for me.
However, on my exit task, I have tasker adjust the setting to 30s, which works.

Tasker to turn on do not disturb?

Does anyone know how to set up a task to turn on do not disturb, or priority only, or whatever it's called? Coming from htc, you could just tell tasker to turn the volume all the way down or turn on silent mode. Can't seem to duplicate that on the g4. I'm using smart settings now, but the results are inconsistent.
i think you need secure settings (plugin, playstore) to archive this
In Tasker, there's an option for Audio > Interrupt Mode - in there you can choose Priority or All. This should do what you want.
I have Tasker setup to mute the phone just before and just after the "battery full" sound plays, as it cannot be disabled (without root).

Perfect, thanks. And I was using a task to turn off the battery full sound also, until I realized that I can just keep the volume level for "touch feedback and system" all the way down. That gets rid of the battery full sound along with some of the other ones that were bothering me.
My favorite g4 tasker workarounds are to set up a task to turn the volume all the way back up again after I plug in headphones and it automatically turns down the volume "to protect my hearing", and adding an icon in the status bar whenever it's charging because I need a visual confirmation that it's still plugged in and I can't make out that lightning bolt in the default battery icon.
