Xperia Play Problems - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I messed around following some tutorials, managed to root my phone and unlock the bootloader - a bit of messing around in Titanium Backup removing apps and services later, and I'm having a few issues. I'd be quite happy going back to stock rom, or flasing a rom - just as long as I get the functionality back.
My issues so far are :
1. Phone is not recognised via usb (brings up a MTP Device installer prompt, which never works) - trying with PC companion to no avail.
2. Received calls go straight to voicemail, dialled works fine - messaging works fine. All settings for diverts etc are set to disabled, tried a different sim in the phone, on a different network, same results.
Sony Update Service and PC Companion are installed, I SHOULD have the adb drivers installed, but to be honest, I'm not too sure if they are anymore. I still have the folders where I extracted all of the bootloader/root stuff, which I've called root and fastboot if the drivers there might be of any use.
Bit more info :

[Q] Restoring to stock with no screen and USB debugging not enabled

Well, I'm in a bit of a predicament.
Last week I installed a custom rom, and almost immediately after, I completely destroyed my phone's LCD and digitizer. Fortunately, the phone still functions fine, but obviously I have no screen and I can do nothing except essentially press the home button. I still hear text message tones, etc, and I can still call the phone, but obviously I can't navigate or do anything as there is no screen.
The problem is, I want to sell the back of the phone as used parts since it functions well, but the phone contains sensitive information (my contacts, SMS, etc) that can not be accessed via Windows Explorer.
I downloaded the SGS3 QCom Toolkit, but it will not recognize the phone, nor will Android Commander, because USB Debugging is disabled.
I'm not interested in retrieving anything in the phone, but I definitely want to delete the SMS, contacts, and Google login info from the phone. If this means restoring factory and loading stock rom that would be great, but I can't seem to do anything without USB debugging enabled, as no software seems to recognize the phone even with all the drivers installed.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

[Q] Mobile ID problem [sPIN]

Hello,
I have special SIM card issued by my operator which enables mobile ID use (with sPIN authentication) for connecting to bank or e-government. Works like this:
1. The user clicks the "Log in with mobile ID" option on a supported website
2. The phone displays a screen indicating that a connection is being made
3. The user is prompted to enter a mobile ID sPIN code into the phone
4. The screen on the phone disappears and the website is automatically reloaded with a logged in screen
It worked fine with stock firmware, but after I've rooted my HOX I'm not getting sPIN request screen anymore (step 3).
Have tried several custom AOSP or AOKP ROMs without luck, but found some of them partly working.
One I'm using right now is [ROM][4.2.2] Slim Bean - Endeavoru [STABLE][Build 7]. Mobile ID worked for first days after flashing it but later I was only able to use it for a few random times (after restarts). Then it works till next restart...
I was first thinking its an issue of incompatible apps I've installed or system settings I've mixed up, but somehow it works sometimes after restart (with very low success rate though). Also tried to restart into safe mode - it worked for the first time, but no luck for the next ~20 safe mode restarts after that.
I've also found hints it could be stk (SIM Application Toolkit) related problem. I can see SIM toolkit in my app list, though it doesnt' show up on running processes on developer tools.
If you're still reading this and have any ideas, please make some comments, maybe it would help me to get back on the right track, thanks!

Could not load Driver: Unknown error (19)

I recently updated my phone to Marshmallow, and everything seemed to work fine for few days. And yesterday, the microphone and sound related stuff stopped working. I rebooted the device, but the issue didn't get fixed. I did a factory reset and now after booting up, I saw this message of drivers not loading. And to add to it, now the Wifi also had stopped working.
I tried to root it and install custom roms, didnt work. Where can I get these drivers from, or do a fresh Installation to get these drivers back?
You can run 'dmesg' in an ADB shell session to see what is in the kernel's ring buffer for that boot. The output of that command can be placed in a code tag (with the # icon in the post editor view) and posted here so we have more information about what's failing.

Recover any personal data from a non-booting device

So hello there!
I'm having the following issue and I'm kinda out of ideas.
I was running a (KingRoot) rooted fireOS 4.6.6.1 (420) if I'm not mistaken.
So this is what happened:
Phone was running just fine, but I wanted to get rid of the facebook background services which kept running without the actual app installed. Also a friend proposed to run the 'fstrim' command. So reading through xda I found an app called 3C Toolbox (http://www.3c71.com/android/?q=node/916) which seemed to be safe to use. Installed it and still didn't change a thing except for the three 'fstrim' actions to perform. After that I restarted my phone.
Powered off just fine, but at the start only the 'Amazon' logo comes up and vanishes into a black screen with the backlight still on. Even after waiting several hours nothing changes.
So what did I attempt to get it wirking again?
At first I tried to simply restart it. --> Nothing changed.
Tried to get into recovery and clean the cache. --> Nothing changed except the 'Amazon' being on for a bit longer
Get into ADB and try pull/uninstall... --> Guess due to the locked bootloader I'm not allowed to issue any command other than 'adb sideload [packagename]' for system updates. As for ADB itself I can only get it to recognize on the PC when I get into recovery and choose the 'apply update from ADB' option.
Get into fastboot according to this tutorial (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668159) --> doesn't work.
Get into 'Safe Mode' with this tutorial (https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-phone/help/how-to-fire-phone-to-boot-safe-mode-t2828240) --> doesn't work either.
So does anybody has another idea I could give a try or should I just abondon all my data and flash a new clean image?
Also I'm not sure if updating from ADB will erase all personal data too. Guess so, but maybe I can get a clearification in here too.

Debricked, P2 sees SIM, asks for PIN, but does not register on network, SIM disabled?

So... I stared into the abyss, but I came back from the brink - unlocked bootloader, and the modem/calibration stuff got wiped during what should have been a routine TWRP flash from fastboot, and left me with no radios whatsoever. After flashing S048, and applying all the known OTAs up till S251, I got my wifi & bluetooth radios back, but it didn't seem to recognise my SIM (tried both slots).
After trying for almost a week, I also finally got the diagnostics mode going and was able to put a working QCN backup in place (thank you XDA and uploader).
So I flashed the LineageOS 15.1 20180413, and lo and behold, it sees the SIM and asks for a PIN to unlock it. So far, so good. Then (first time) Android says 'switching to mobile data, might take a while' but nothing really happens (I am on wireless; if I turn off wifi that doesn't make any difference though).
Under 'Network', 'Automatically select network' is enabled but 'Network' (right below) is greyed out. When I untick 'Automatically select network', it says 'Error while searching for networks'. When I re-tick it again, it says 'Registered on network', although nothing really happens.
Under SIM cards, it says slot 1 is populated, but says 'Mobile Vikings is disabled' (Mobile Vikings being my provider). The button to enable it is greyed out. Switching to airplane mode doesn't force anything either.
I've had a logcat instance open when toggling 'Automatically select network', but nothing related seems to show up. Any hints on what I could try/check? Or is this a coaster?
I believe that once you erase the modem stuff you'll always have serious problems restoring it. It seems like most people have to send the device in for service.
I've still no solution for an old P2 of mine and in that case I even had a TWRP backup.
Lenovo should really allow for us to flash stock images . An unlocked bootloader with LESS privileges makes no sense.
Wipe everything in twrp & flash twrp full backup which included efs & modem shared on our p2 forum. then flash Fastboot s48 only systemchuncks 0-14, boot & recovery then do 4-5 OTAs updates till latest one s251, you'll get you mobile network & calls back.
@eried1 Yeah looks like it
@amansehdav I have turned the P2 subforum upside down and I already tried this - restore a working S233 TWRP backup, flash S048 through fastboot, and upgrade with the OTAs till S251. No dice. Wifi and Bluetooth came back with that process, but the stock firmware would not see the SIM.
