I've been with the Z1s for about one month now, and it's going pretty great. But the all-glass front and back make me pretty nervous. I know we have the two cases from T-Mobile, but does anyone know of any other cases out there? There seems to be an annoying trend of the Z1 Mini being called the Z1s which makes finding a case a PITA.
I wouldn't mind some of those tempered glass protectors either?
I just bought the [email protected] Xperia Z1S Super Matte Shield Cover from Amazon.... Didn't get it yet but it seems to be the only one that doesn't cover the magnetic charge port. I also have the Carbon Black Skinomi skin. It's ok but the corners are sticking up on the side skins. Don't really care for the feel of the screen protector either.

Someone said that that actually fits on the Z1 in the accessories section. Seem a lot of these accessories manufacturers didn't know that the Z1 and Z1s have different dimensions.
I'm just using a Skinomi protector on the front and back, no case here!

Let us know about the IVSO case when you get it...with pics, please!
Z1 Case will fit but you can't charge your phone. It's missing that cut out portion and also missing the magnetic charging part. Also your micro SD card will not be perfect aligned. I have a z1 case I have to cut some pieces for the charging port opening. Just wait or buy the correct one from T-Mobile or Amazon for z1s

My Sony xperia z with $1.52 amazon case was an indestructible beast drops upon drops concrete . wood , it meet its demise by my hands intentionally but it did not go down easy multiple whacks to a granite counter corner and still lights not out. hands down the best made for durability ever. Samsung could learn a thing or 2 from Sony . I am sure the Z1 follows suit
Hey guys, for those who were wondering, the IVSO case does indeed work on the T-Mobile Z1s. It's branded as IVSO on Amazon but when you receive it, it is the Nillkin Frosted Shield case series. That's not to say it's a bad thing, if you've ever used one of those Nillkin Frosted cases, it's exactly like those feel. If you haven't, just find a review of a frosted shield case for any phone, it feels solid and nice. Very minimalistic and nicely designed.
I don't have pictures, but the fit is perfect. All the cut outs are where they should be, the only missing cutout is the spot for the SIM card, but it makes sense for why there isn't a cut out there. Overall, I've always liked the Nillkin cases and it continues with this snap-on case. I will say this, if you dropped your phone on it's speaker grille side or headphone side, there is no protection there. It's just for the sides and the back. There isn't exactly an overlapping clip, if that makes sense, for the front either. So, if your phone lands flat on its screen, don't expect much protection. AGAIN, this is almost exactly like the Frosted Shield series for other phones, though. It's more for appearance than protection.

I second that. Love Nillkin cases. Not a whole lot of protection but works well enough to protect against minor drops and bumps. Also adds grip to the slippery phone.
I got my Z1s about 3 weeks ago and have been rocking it naked. Been loving it. Naked all the way baby.

I finally came down to 2 choices for cases only find out that both cases suffer from problems.
Speck with the cracking and the NEO hybrid with the sagging.
What to do now?
It is my understanding from reading the speck candyshell thread is the cracking only applies to the one color (Pebble / Bayou), which happens to be the color I had (and it did crack, on 3 separate cases). My wife has the mint green speck candyshell and it's been fine.
I've been wondering the same thing, except tossing in a few other hybrid style cases
candyshell, neo hybrid, faxion, puregear slimshell
as far as I've heard...
candyshell may crack..and even if it doesn't, the candyshell scratch's like a mofo.
the neo hybrid possibly has button and sagging issues from what I've heard.
the faxion isn't very stylish imo and i hate the cutout in the back..and the puregear..meh...kind falls somewhere in between on the style imo and no reports of anything on it.
If i had to choose between the two case's you mentioned.... Idk... I think the speck wins in a form function kind of way...
The Candyshell only cracks on the bayou/pebble color, not on any of the others.
Using the soot/black one and no issues, looks great and the buttons are so easy to press.
The neo hybrid will not sag. They changed the material from the s2 cases. I have both cases and use the hybrid more. I have the dark grey speck case and the shining grass hybrid. I like the hybrid more for the looks and the thinness.

Been using a black Speck CandyShell and it's great. No cracking. The glossy back will scratch and show loads of finger prints. But it's thin + good protection. You thought about the case-mate pop?

Thanks for the comment. Is the cracking problem still present with the Pebble/Buyou though?
I have never used speck candyshell but after using SGP neo hybrid I always go back to Samsung's protective case. Neo hybrid has no grip due to matte finished back and just wasn't comfortable for me in my hands.

How do I know if the one I'll buy is not an "old" stock?
I have a Speck Candyshell, and have actually been thinking about purchasing a Neo Hybrid to replace it.
Liked:
- Feels great
- Looks great
Don't like:
- Back scratches easily
- Rubber on the edges (biggest problem)
I think Speck should have gone with TPU instead of rubber. The rubber attracts lint, makes it harder to slide in/out of pockets/holsters, and it has started to rub off on the top of mine. The rubbed off rubber results in litter specks of rubber getting on the screen, and are a pain to clean off. That was the deal-breaker for me.
I'm currently using a cheap Fosomon case, which isn't too bad.

As long a you buy it from an authorized reseller or speck themselves it's not the old stock. They told me to make sure if I buy it from amazon that it is shipped and old by amazon themselves.

I'm thinking about having my phone naked....... well, sort of. What I mean is, I was thinking of adding the SGP Glas for the front. So now the front will be protected. Then I would have a bumper protecting the sides of the phone. For the back I would have an invisible shield, Even if I do happen to drop it I can easily buy the back panel since its cheap. Do you think this would be a smart way of having my phone feel naked and having great having protection?
I just love the naked slim body of the phone. I do have a diztronic case even though the case has very little bulk, its still does not the feel the same.
Looking for some advise
What I would buy to do this is...
SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy S3 Screen Protector
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Prote...7726&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxy+s3+tempered+glass
Black bumper
http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Bumpe...=1347180178&sr=1-10&keywords=galaxy+s3+bumper
Fort he Back of the phone
http://www.amazon.com/ArmorSuit-Mil...=1-8&keywords=galaxy+s3+invisible+shield+back
You don't need to protect the screen at all, gorilla glass is much stronger than your flimsy plastic sheets you put on it. If something can scratch gorilla glass, that "screen protector" will not stop it at all. A weaker object can't protect a stronger object.
What you need to protect is the phone's back. I use my phones naked always. I've never had much problem. However with SGS3, my phone's back is covered with scratches. I don't remeber having any other phone with a backplate this vulnerable.

I'm also using SGP glas on my S3, but I use with Samsung's slim case. This thing add literally no thickness at all! And it protects back and the camera. I thought about using SGP ultra bumper case but I'm worried about camera lens since it doesn't provide any kind of protection around.

Does using a screen protector take away the essence of the S3's beautiful screen? I am very careful about keeping my phone away from coins, keys, etc. and am confident about not getting the screen scratched; my only concern is the finger oil marks that are left on the screen.
Will a screen protector resolve this issue?
I am confused.

because if I dropped it when its out of the punch im screwed.
Be careful with samsung ultra slim in 0.3mm
I got them ( there are 2 differents in package) and both suffer hot temperatures! I have no photo atm but i can clearly say that they deform themeselves if exposed at some high temperature(for example when you play game or any sort of thing that increase battery temperature)
they are curved now and dont fit well..
So i gone with the tpu ,always samsung offcial, and all is awesome (but you lose the naked but protected feel xD)
When i read naked i thought you meant to take the motherboard out and put it in a transparent case/shell to show the insides....
Why not try a Zagg invisible shield. I'vehad one on my SGS since the beginning and also on my GTab. It'll be the first thing I get on my next mobile upgrade. You can get maximum protection (front, back, sides) or just front protection.

it wouldnt
there are plenty of videos of people scraping keys, knives, and other sharp objects across the screen with no effect, even sandpaper which resulted in very faint scratches
my phone has flip case... and the screen's scratched to ****. If gorilla glass is scratchproof then i'm the king of mars
So then, is a screen protector absolutely essential? I'd rather have the screen naked, then use a screen protector.
I have, however, got a pretty nice body for the phone that covers and protects the back well.
I'm so confused by exactly which of the 4 N5 spigen cases to choose from- they are all in the same price range and sort of look the same (except the ultra thin air one which is solely transparent)
If I'm looking for something thin that protects the screen- can anyone point me to which of those I'm looking for? And if it protects the screen- is it an inbuilt screen protector or a separate screen protector comes with it?
Also- chose spigen over ballistic because it doesn't appear they are selling N5 cases any more?? Why pull out so soon?
Thanks!

The only protection you're getting for the screen is the lip that raises the device when you set it facedown. Theres another product called the Rhinoshield which is a glass screen protector which will shatter instead of your phone screen if dropped. If I were you I wouldn't get the neo hybrid because of its square form making it awkward to hold and extremely uncomfortable. Rounded back da best. Other than that most cases have a lip and you should be fine based on personal preference.

The ultra fit is good but it can damage your phone's corners - especially if you have the black N5. It requires a specific install method. I had this problem and Spigen hasn't responded in over a week. Just FYI if something happens to your device.
Thanks for the suggestions guys- I definitely like the idea of the rhinoshield as well.
@ctscloud What difference is there between the black and white N5 that would make it more susceptible to damage?

Broke the rear glass
Top-right corner is totally broken and there's a crack thru the whole glass.
At the moment I put some silicon on the corner to avoid pieces of glass from falling, but I need now a case, a very very very slim one.
Bought one from Amazon that was supposed to be slim but... the problem is that the cover on the two longer sides is too high, meaning it is higher than the white aluminium side. Not sure I can explain...
I'm looking for the slimmest and thinnest case that just covers the back and not much on the sides.
Any help?
Thanks

I had this one and it was the thinnest I could find. The only real protection is on the back of the phone which proved to be what I needed most. It finally cracked one morning I woke up from my couch and did a full stretch putting my phone into my ceiling fan on high. The case initially took a little get used to due to me being accustomed to the excellent grip from the cloth official Google case. In short, is worth the price, absolutely! Would I buy again, No.
I know this one, too thick and on the sides is too high

+1 to this. My favorite case, but it scares me to carry it sometimes. Super nice, super thin. Don't imagine it will protect much though.

By far the thinnest one I've owned and the way it fits around the edges is pretty flush. Fits like a glove and feels good in the hand. Not really good for protection though if you drop it, but more like a wrap to keep it from getting dinged up.

Looks like it might have trouble fitting properly if used with a case. The black border looks problematic. Have you used it with a case and, if so, do you have any pics or comments on that? Thanks.
I'm trying to figure out the best front screen protector as well. I would prefer tempered glass but have only seen a couple and not in stock at the moment. Still have the stock one on it but it's starting to bubble and peel/Crack on the sides.
I'm using these white stone dome front tempered glass screen protector. I got two of them for $10. They work decent with a case. But make sure it is a minimalistic case like the Samsung carbon fiber.

I am currently using samsungs silicone case and there is no problems with it coming off. Have not tried with a heavy duty case but I honestly don't see it as a problem
I got my leather case (samsung one) today and love it. However as soon as i applied it the cover screen plastic protector came off in the edge so i just removed it.
since it seems pretty thick on the inside - is there any 9h glass available yet which fits with the case? Or can i go to a samsung store and they reapply the plastic one on the cover screen?
i dont mind paying
I'm using the Whitestone glass screen protector. NOT the EZ. I've used it on all my phones since it was first released, including I Note devices and the Z Fold 2.
I use this for Extra protection
Whitestone Dome Glass UV.

I'm waiting on these to get delivered to me today actually. The stock one on my front screen is starting bubble and peel up on the side. My case kinda covers it up but the stock one is also picking up quite a few scratches. Hopefully these will do the job. Isn't that easy to fine a good tempered glass screen protector for this device. Spigen looks to be coming out with one but not available yet.

I had Spigen EZ for front screen and it is crap. Peeled off next day and applied Whitestone Dome.

Hmm, not sure what that one is. I haven't seen a front screen protector from Spigen anywhere. The one I was referring to is the one below, which is the only one on their site and doesn't appear to be out yet since it says coming soon.

Yeah, exactly this one. My mistake I wrote EZ.
In UK is available from Amazon.
Anyone got a recommendation for a good case? Id normally use Spigen but some of their case prices are ambitious to say the least.

I'm using the Ringke Slim and I really like it. I ordered the Spigen S Pen case, but it won't ship for another week or so. Looks bigger than I'd like, but definitely need something I can switch to when I really need to carry the S Pen and don't want to have it loose in a pocket.
I also ordered the official Samsung Aramid case (which also won't arrive for another week or two). Based on the reports I've read and the pics I've seen, the Aramid appears to be the slimmest case available for the ZF3. I hate bulky cases, especially on a device that's as large as the ZF3, so I'm guessing I'll probably settle on the Aramid for 90% of my daily use.

Thanks buddy, how are you finding the ringke slim? I was keen on that until i read a few amazon reviews mentioning the case had scratched their devices? Have you had any such issue? Would be good to hear if you used the sticky pads and if they are easy/hard to remove.

Great case. No scratches. Not sure how anyone scratched their Fold with this case. You'd have to be pretty damn careless to do that. I used the adhesive strips.
