Please somebody - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did lots of stupid things one of them was flashing a custom rom made for ics since i still got gb it got my phone boot loop. Then i searched about this, a guy said that he could reach to his recovery mode by spamming the back key while the phone loops. When i tried amazingly it worked then i immedieatly wiped dalvik cache and battery stats(or smth). Then i head in to the place where you can mount and unmount things i formatted /data and the other things with /. Now i have found the ultimate solution: flash the stock rom. But i cannot reach to my recovery mode. I have installed CWM to my device (and also rooted) before everything happened i remember i activated usb debugging mode(won't be a problem).
NOW I KNOW YOU ARE KNOWING SOMETHING ABOUT THAT PHONE BUT I DON'T PLEASE CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO?
any help will be appreciated and btw sorry for bad english i hope you can understand what i am trying to say .

Actually I don't know what u mean
But if u want to use custom rom base on ics, u should power off ur phone(or pull the battery out and put it back) and flash stock ics firmware
And u will need to root ur phone again with a software called eroot
And install cwm again if u have a locked bootloader

You really haven't supplied any useful information, where we could even begin to try to help you.
Have you connected your phone to your computer successfully before, and only recently not working? Did you change anything?

Well, apparently you don't know what you're talking about. There is no such thing as rooting on Windows Mobile. You're talking about HardSPL.
Did you install the HTC drivers or HTC Sync?
To find out whether your phone is rooted go into the bootloader (turn phone off, then hold volume down when you power it back on). When the bootloader starts up if it says "S-OFF" at the top of the screen you are rooted. If it says "S-ON" then you are not.

I got HBOOT...

I just want to be the little italian man (mario) i need to insert roms
you could still downgrade with PC10IMG.zip file (download link in rooting guide on wiki). Than it should be working fine - but you loose root!
(last time I was rerooting it took me less than 5 minutes, so it should not be such a big problem )

Try a different computer/USB cable?
Can ADB see your device when it's plugged in?
Are you S-OFF? If so, try flashing a different ROM and see if the problem goes away.
Like others said, too difficult to definitively say what's going wrong without you providing some more information.

how do you flash a custom rom, im stupid and cant find it :'( and btw this has to be through an sd card cause i think cant do nothing with my usb :/
do you have root permitions ? if so - download rom manager (at market), at first click on flash clockwork recovery and when its done take "download rom" - choose which one you want to and follow the steps that will rom manager tell you.
otherwise you could (after flashing recovery) put some rom to your sdcard, go to the recovery (power button + volume up; take care to not have pc10img file on your sdcard in that moment) - go to the recovery, wipe data /cache, advanced - wipe battery status / dalvik; back , instal zip - choose zip file with rom - and you are ready to go.
... says an error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands D:
i do have recovery mode what can i do with that?

Recovery Mode ?!?

Hello guys im very new to Android and i want to ask something.
Maybe its a noob question but what i did it.
I S Off my Wildfire S and i Permanently ROOT it this is all i done till now.
I never put some recovery things etc.
So today i saw something that i want to install on my device but i need to put 1st my device in recovery mode and install it then.
So when i went to recovery mode 1st for few seconds its show me a black screen with device and green arrows like all is normal and after a second showing me BIG RED TRIANGLE like something is wrong so what i think is
I dont have a recovery?!
I mean do i need to put it by myself?! this is why im not able to boot in recovery?
And if im right can someone provide me i mean show me where to look for this TUT what recovery to flash and how im sure there already have a quide and etc.
If someone can point me out i want to understand more about this devices what this recovery doing exactly i guess its recover something and maybe i can do backup etc.
Thank you in advance
I have the same issue. I used the instructions and SW at htcdev to unlock the bootloader, which worked fine. Went to try recovery and had the same issue as above. Had to take out the battery to get the phone back.
Ideas?

If you used adb then you know more than I do.
The only thing I can think of is if you are full wiping.
Booting into recovery
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe dalvik
Format all partitions except sd card.
I suggested to get 4ext touch becauee you can use the screen to navigate in the recovery section instead of the volume buttons to format and flash.
If you are having hardware issues, could it be a hardware problem? It happebed after you got nervous which leads to believe it may be software related. But if you flashed a stock rom using adb, did that fully wiped your phone? I don't know.
If it didn't, try a full wipe.
Read this only for informational purposes. Don't try anything until you are sure it's not software related.

It is all software related, well i tried everything but the same...it is not a harware problem. I think the rom that had an error when i was flashing it had a bad impact on my media driver. I don't know how to fix this crap now....please keep posting and keep in touch...and do ask your friends to fix this issue if you could please.

when i was flashing a new ROM through CWM then an error appeared stating installation aborted...I got panic and when this error appeared....i just flashed the other ROM...but i didn't wipe the data of the Error making ROM...I think that is why this problem happened...but new ROM was flashed successfully and when i tried to work volume keys in the ROM and in CWM they were not working, Camera and Earphone slot wasn't working as well....After that i tried 4EXT Recovery to wipe everything and flashed the ROM once again but same problem for every ROM..Even i Recently flashed an RUU Stock HTC ROM VIA ADB but same....Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't help your problem, but if everything is really down and you're back on stock ROM, without root, go and complain to HTC and whatever your service provider is. Pretend like you don't know what happened. If you have a good provider, or if your phone warranty hasn't expired yet, then they should fix it for you.

Someone told me to flash an RUU that will overwrite all the previous data by using ADB....i did it as well...Everything went fine again....ROM was flashed....but F**king problem remains the same....

Replacement Battery, Or broken phone?
Looking to replace this naff ass broken "replacement HTC Desire HD" battery. Any suggestions? Are these High Capacity Gold battierys any use?
This battery if I turn the phone on it then powers off as dead. Unless I have it connected to a charger first. Then I can see the battery is actually got a charge in it.
Is this the battery of perhaps an issue with the phone?

Ok, now that being said. What bootloader is showing when you try to boot. Is it "3.06 ICS unlocked"?
If it is unlocked you have a chance by pushing the HC bootloader with fastboot. If not, your bricked for good, atm.

Stop flashing random stuff! You're gonna wreck this thing for sure. First you flashed an ICS bootloader over HC, which it says not to, now you're flashing HC over it, which there are posts saying not to do. Installing a stock ROM from cwm is also asking to brick, theres even a sticky addressing this one. So stop doing stuff and READ!
you said you have cwm installed? Download any ICS ROM, like flex reaper, place it on your SD card and try to install that in cwm after wiping cache system data and dalvik cache.

There is all your answers. All of these members have taken their personal time set aside to create step-by-step guides. I don't mean to sound like a prick, but you OBVIOUSLY DID NOT READ THE GUIDES IN FULL, seeing as how YOU DID DAM NEAR EVERYTHING YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE.
I can't help you. The guides will/would've/could have helped you, but you didn't read them in full. Saying you did is a BOLD FACE LIE, or else you just outright decided to ignore the information and warnings that these members put together for users such as yourself. And you aren't the first. READ THE GUIDES COMPLETELY AND STOP DOING THE THINGS THE GUIDES SAY NOT TO DO! WHY DO WE BOTHER? AND THAN WE REALLY DON'T WANT TO HELP YOU ONE BIT. THIS IS HAPPENING TOO OFTEN. WAY TOO OFTEN WHEN WE HAVE FOOL PROOF GUIDES!! OMG YOU PEOPLE ARE DRIVING ME INSANE WITH THIS BS
I owned this tablet for 3 days before I rooted it. I read the guides completely, and I never had a single problem or even a brick/near bricked situation.
Sorry, I'm sure this pisses you off. Oh, well, the lack of anyone wanting to help themselves pisses me off to the point I no longer want to help any of you.
We shouldn't have to spoon feed the information that is VASTLY available in these forums.
F it. I'm done.
You can tell me to go F myself, the feeling is mutual.
I almost cracked my screen hitting thanks on that.
On topic: use a stock ICS ROM named update.zip on the root of your external SD card. Boot holding volume down (left) and let it install. If it errors, tell us clearly what it said. It will not unlock the boot loader, but may savee your device for another try.
Be clear people we can't help if you spout 400 line paragraphs with punctuation and random words thrown in. State the error given and when it occurs. Clearly.

The guides will/would've/could have helped you, but you didn't read them in full. my tab is now running in [ROM]ICS-"FLEX-A100-REAPER-RELIX_Rev2 (15-Sep-2012)ntfs-3Gusb-GoogleNow,...... :victory:
I really shouldn't have bit your head off. If you can't tell by looking in this general forum, so many people to not make the effort to help the, selves with the wealth of information made available to us.
Glad you read it, and got it working. Read pio's guide before you start modding. Really you should, word for word. I can't count the times I read it.
If you choose CM10, which is highly recommended, there is a walkthru tips guide, in my SIG.

Odin is the Samsung equivalent of Sony's Flashtool. CWM is another lifesaver as it has wipe options built in that can help to get a phone to boot. CWM remains installed even if the main OS is removed........

Yeah I have used sony phone for a while and i have broken it (Hard bricked) when unlocking the bootloader, then I picked up a galaxy w and I am still in love with it, Its a single core but it can do miracles. I have soft bricked my phone many times, I sometimes delete the ROM i put on the sd card to have room for the kernel and other tweaks so i use Odin to just return the stock OS and then get a new ROM and flash it inside. There is not much risk and you cant go wrong with the phone. I fixed mine many times and i know how many frustration you get when doing such thing. I remember the first time when i bricked my phone by installing kernel for another android version, and then i booted up to CWM and wiped data/cache and flashed a new rom. Because of the long booting time i thought that its over, i broke my phone, but after sitting there for 10 mins. it finally booted up. Damn i was so happy then, i rooted my phone and installed a new rom for first time :victory:

So can you give me a small guide on how to use Odin ?
You don't NEED to use Odin. The link I provided gives you easy to understand information about how to root, CWM and flash cusROMs 'in phone'......
It's how I did it, and it really is very easy to do/follow.......
