and with odin ??? it is dangereous for the phone ??? i flashed with odin the jm2 but the jpc has the bootloader broken ( samfirmware talk about this ) and i don't want to brick definitely my device . please help me
If you're worried about bricking your phone, don't flash it.
What the hell is wrong with people who come here to get assurances that the phone won't break because of the hacks available? Noone can be sure what happens when you install a hack on your phone. If you do it, you're going to have to face the music, no matter if it's the greatest symphony ever made or annoying tinnitus ringing in your ears. There's ALWAYS a chance that you may end up with a brick, and you won't be covered by warranty.
People who try to convince other people to install any kind of hack are retards, and should be forced to buy a new one for the poor blokes who was talked into doing some "safe" thing that brick their phone.
Decide for yourself if you want to risk your phone. Don't come here asking someone else to make that decision for you.

Well yeah, but there are several threads with people who practically bricked the phone with JPC, there is a warning that the OP obviously read. And still he asks about it... "is it safe".... OFCOURSE IT'S NOT!
Even when the flashing instructions state "DONT FLASH IF YOUR THREE BUTTON RECOVERY MODE WONT WORK" people ask "is it safe to flash? I don't have the three button recovery"...
I wish I could send a slap in the face to people who even considers doing hacks when they can't even understand the first 3 sentences of the instructions...
(Oh, and sorry OP, I don't specifically aim all this at you personally, it's just general frustration)
Hi guys. I hope u all are doing well with ur Notes!
I decided to buy the Note II N7100 and i was reading. I found out that the Note2 does have the Sudden Death Issue. My enemy since it took my SIII with it too :/
Mine got it by rooting etc (faulty EMMC was the ultimate cause).
I searched alot and found out that I need to be on the latest Firmware just to be ON THE SAFE SIDE.
But I wanna Root, MOD, flash ROMs and all that stuff. So since rooting is a risky thing. Also the EFS Partition can be disturbed so i wudnt want to brick this fellow :/
Can you please tell me a SAFE Method to root, flash CWM, reset flash counter, EFS partition etc.
Cuz i'm afraid i might end up bricking it like my SIII i9300
Thanks

Just a tip, find a store which will replace the phone within a few days, if there's something wrong.
Check if the wifi works fine, I've had this phone for 6 months and it's driving me insane, custom roms and kernals haven't fixed anything.
If you're dropping this much dough, make sure it works. :highfive:

Its always better to read and perform,
TIP
a lot of times if there is any Mods or tweaks read it twice or more times read replies or understand the complete functionality what changes are taking place and when your fully super confident then proceed or stop there only .
The chances of getting sds prone hardware are quite low now, unless you're unlucky enough to buy up some old stock

Thanks alot guys for ur responses i really appreciate this
The thing is i have always been "unlucky".
My SIII bricked when it wasnt supposed to :/
Thats why i have a bit of FEAR left in me xD
Being rooted, doing an EFS Backup, custom recovery etc. will be more preventful i think. I'm gonna do the same

I have both SIII and Note II. After sometime of rooting, modding and cracking..... i still prefer Note 2 compared with S 3. You won't regret going for the big screen.

Thanks alot really appreciate ur and all others help.... next phone is definitely the Note 2 then.
My choice was either a Nexus 4 (Rs. 40000 here) or a Galaxy Note 2 (for 48000 here)
A price difference yes but u get that giant screen, with a nice stylus and TW overall...
This BRICKING thing was the only thing that I was afraid of.
but still my question is a bit unanswered:
What do I have to be on, or what to do in order to PREVENT A BRICK?
(Mention in POINTS if u can )

There is different types of scenarios for this question ,
If its ok with you stay on STOCK for couple of days don't root it ,do all upgrades
for more info on sds please find this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093599
before s4 and xperia Z was released i did some extensive research comparing phones from HTC samsung and sony. note that this was back in january. For note 2 the only downside is that the screen is not full HD. in fact the LCD density is one of the lowest. i'm guessing this is due to the huge screen. besides that it has the stylus and mult-window and floating windows and ****, combined with this huge stock 3100mAh battery. big screen, big battery, quad core. thats all that matters. however, for me, my tiny asian hands do find it abit bulky sometimes and i get clumsy sometimes when i try to use 1 hand. lol...
Hi Guys,
I've been having some issues lately, I Installed de Jedi-X16 Rom on my Note 2 (Awesome Rom btw) The first Days was running really nice and it still is.. But now i've been having some problems with the Keyboard & Screen (Not really sure if it is the screen itself) When i'm typing sometimes it stops typing like a 2 second freeze then it recognizes again my typing, even when I reboot after a few minutes it does it again, It doesn't do it the entire day but it bother me a little, about the Screen it sometimes stops responding too and I think the "Keyboard Problem" is the same as the screen doesn't respond to my touch, The phone is practically new I have it for like 4 to 5 months.. Do you guys think it's the rom itself? Even if it started a few days after i've installed it?
*** My nephew messed up my USB/Charging port (He is a 5 month baby) and he filled the Usb port with Saliva and it doesn't work anymore LOL, I don't really care about that since it's replaceable, but I pointed it out so You guys can tell me if that saliva could have affected the screen itself and if that is what MAY be causing the problem or is it just the ROM.
I hope you guys can help me
Thanks!

Me personally don't think it's the Rom! I get keyboard lag with my Rom. But doesn't bother me that much. As I don't complain about every lil thing.. if the phone works without any serious problems I'm happy!!
Now concerning that the baby had your phone in his hands. With it upside down, with his mouth on the bottom by the usb port.
Drooling all over it. Pending how long he had it and his mouth on it, the liquid possibly leaked a lil to far into the phone. That might be causing those problem's??
If you personally think it's the Rom then flash another one. And see if your problem persist!!

There are many threads about doing all this already. Want to know why no one wants to help? It is because a simple search will give you all the info you need.
This might seem rude but is important. No one wants to hold your hand when everything you need is already here on xda. If it would have been a new issue you would have gotten plenty of help.

Sorry for the dealy just came off 24 duty..well firat make sure the battery you have is charged I know the link the guy gave before is good but thats if your phone will turn on..what i did was hold the power button and the home button and volume down and that trigger the phone into download mode.. and if it don't on the first tryn then take the battery out hold the power button and the home button to hard rest and then afterwards hold the power button for 1 minute then try the firat step sometimes it take a few but its like a override so to say..once you get it back install and factory MC2 rom to get it back to stock so you can start from the beginning... One thing i notice with this rom there alot of reboots so what i do i reboot my phone at least 3 to 4 times a day just to keep it stable hope this helps
one thing i learn

one thing i found out if you ever need a starting point find a reliable MC2 stock rom which i use a Kies Official stock rom and have mobile odin pro to get back to stock asap when ever your realizing something going haywire while your away from home..always when your ealize you have a good thing going with a custom Rom make a back up on your external sd car and copy on your PC.. these thing help me from having too many issues.also if you get on a stock 4.3 rom and what to down grade follow the forum {ROM}{TEAM REJECTZ}{LORJAY589}(MK4 Rom Odex/Deodex 12/2)(Note3 Rom Post #6 1/12) this will help you remove knox.. then you want to flash a offical MC2 4.1.2 just in-case you have a warranty issues with 4.3. You might know things thing but i share as much as i can cause i forget alot my self..lol:laugh:
Hey there,
I literally just got my preowned G3 from T-Mobile today....... really... today. I bricked the crap out of it trying to flash the Chupa Chup Rom. Chose the D855 version. Now the phone won't boot at all. Won't boot into download mode or power on. So, two things....maybe 3......
1. I understand it's dead right? I've yet to find any good news as to a way to fix it. So, I'm thinking about sending it back to TMO as a "warranty exchange" . I figure if I can't even get it to power on they probably won't have much luck. Even with a Jtag all you could do would be flash stock and restore it. No way to prove what caused it to happen. Am I wrong about this?
2. What the heck happened to Aroma installers? I know it's user error but what am I doing? I got a G3 because I totally bricked my G2 doing the same thing. It used to be you selected the model number before you flashed. Both times this didn't happen. I just assumed (like a complete noob) that it would eventually ask. Where the hell do you select the model number prior To flashing? Does it vary by Rom or installer?
Thanks for any help. I just went through this with my G2. I've been on XDA for years and this has never happened now twice with two VERY expensive phones. I wanna die...
Bruh... This is D851.... and RTFM next time...
If youve been here for years then you would know to read instructions on how to flash, and what device the dev/rom supports.
Best of luck.

Hey C'mon guys I already feel like a complete Jackass for doing this. Not once but twice in two weeks with two different phones. I am a grown man with a wife and two kids... haha. I don't time for this anymore. Apparently the issue is that when I am flashing through the Aroma installer I am expecting it to ask what variant (much like the Cloudyfa Aroma installer) However (very foolishly) it doesn't and clicked next one too many times. I have helped a lot of people with their phones but this it the first (well, now second) time I have ever totally ruined a phone. Never thought it would happen to me. Lesson learnt. . . . . . if it doesn't feel 100% right ..... DON'T CLICK NEXT ! ! ! ! !

I bricked My Htc dream by not reading carefully it was a costly mistake, luckily T-mobile/asurion were not dicks when i told them i flashed it and bricked it. But since then i always quadruple check and read eleventy billion times before even considering flashing something. it sucks but use insurance to get another and pony up the 200 bones...

This is the second time I've seen a post like this. Does no one read the entire post any more? Seems like people just download and flash. I know I have a low post count, but that is do to me reading a lot and using my brain. I know I come across as a jerk and that is not my intention. However, maybe it's the Marine in me but at some point people need to stop blaming installers and wrong links in post. In four years I have never bricked a phone.
