Can't get in bootloader mode - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Dear XDA users,
I tried flashing FireFox OS on my N7...without making a back-up. Of-course, it didn't work so I was trying to acces my device on my pc while in CWM. I gave up. Sometime later I decided to try it again... but I just can't get into bootloader mode. When being hooked up to my pc, I hold all the buttons on the N7. Windows gives the device found sound and tells me my N7 is an Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4). The screen on my N7 stays completely black.
I really don't know what to do :crying: I am so scared that I screwed up my N7 and can't use it anymore.
Please XDA, help me!

Unplug your N7 from your computer. Hold volume up + power buttons. That'll get you into the bootloader. Then, you can plug the N7 into the computer and should be able to use fastboot.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app

Volume up and power is recovery mode.
Volume down and power is download mode.

T-Mo G2 Bricked, Please Help!

Hi,
I purchased this phone in a wholesale lot. It powers on and is recognized on the computer as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008" after installing the USB Host drivers. The screen stays blank, and QPST is telling me that the phone is in download mode (Q/QCP-XXX).
I need some help on getting the firmware loaded onto the device, if someone could get me a dump of the G2 using QPST or some other app, I'd appreciate it.
i have also bricked my desire Z by installing incorrect Hboot, now its not turning on, volume down+power combo not getting me to the bootloader, its not even recognized by my computer, i have also installed QPST QXDM, what did you install to get your phone recognized by your PC

Hi I have just send it to lg assistance
Search for G3 unbrick here in xda or google. There's a few threads about how to "unblock" the phone.
I've done it twice already because of tests on it...
This thread is supposed to also work on the G3. Thought it might help:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50775936

Hello my dear friend, I am having the same problem please help. Thank you. I got an email attachment.
[email protected]
Hi.
I had the same issue. All i did is do a hard reset on my phone by holding volume down and power button, when you see lg logo release the keys and press power button as fast as you can until you see hard reset.

Some Help Please?

Ok, so this all started way way way back when I tried to update twrp (maybe back in august?) and well, after doing so there was no recovery and trying to boot it gave me a secure boot certificate error. Fast forward to today. I follow a guide located around here, flashed the files needed through linux and the phone seemed to be taking them. Well... now it won't turn on at all. Hooking it up in windows shows no sign of life, the phone isn't charging and just no general response from it. Any suggestions?
If its any help it was on a lollipop rom when all of this started.
I think you are stuck on qdloader 9008 mode connect your phone to your windows pc then hold the power button to see any response
No response from the phone. Just a nice black screen
NO i ment is that try connect the phone to the pc open device manager and hold the power and vol up buttons of course the phone wont turn on if it is in hard bricked state but it will atleast show its emergency download state on your device manager

Another Nexus 5X bricked

Hey!
I just got a bricked N5X from my friend. It doesn't show any sighs of life (download mode, recovery, etc.) except lovely Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 when I connect phone to the PC.
I searched a lot of post across the Internet and there are couple of ways to (at least try to) fix ix, but I miss files to do that. BoardDiag doesn't support this chip and even if I want to try I cannot find .tot files for 5x.
So is there any way to fix it? To get img files needed or something else?
Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately, my Nexus 5X just got bricked as well. It was working fine until all of a sudden, it rebooted while using Google Maps & Bluetooth to stream the navigation and music. Then it got stuck on the Google boot screen and since then, it would not boot. I was able to get it to start in bootloader mode and recovery mode a few times. I was even able to clear cache once but that was it. Now, I can only get it to start in bootloader after pressing and holding the power + vol.down button for at least 20 secs.
I tried plugging into my computer and it shows the Qualcomm HS- USB QDLoader 9008 (COM5) under Ports (COM & LPT).
What can I do to recover from this?
If you are able to go to the download mode, then maybe you can try LGUP to flash original image. You can more info on other xda forums

hardware issue, google and LG are apparently aware of this. Mine just crapped out and Im one month out of warrunty so I was able to get google to do a one time replacement. Thought who knows how long that one will last.
My Nexus 5X just crapped out about 5 minutes ago. I was using Chrome and it froze, so I held the power key. It is stuck in a boot loop. If I VolDn+Power I get the menu to go to go into recovery, but it doesn't succeed. Tonight when I get home if there's anything to try via ADB I'd appreciate a link, but I figure it's the hardware problem. Bootloader Version BHZ11h. I'm out of warranty but have an extended one from my credit card company.
Same here...I am really frustrated about that!Another bricked nexus out of nowhere..!!Don't know what to do!
Since i still have warranty is it better to go to the place i bought to ''fix'' it as they said or send an email to google if they can replace it..?
what do you think? is there any way to save our data?
My Nexus 5x froze up without warning earlier this week while listening to spotify and playing ingress.
I managed to reboot it but the same thing happened again so I booted it up in recovery mode and did a factory reset. Now the phone is dead other then the LED flashing red while connected to the charger.
I contacted the reseller and i'm gonna ship it of today to be repaired i hope.. unless the repairshop claim it's been water damaged or some other "#¤"#%.
Here's another Nexus 5X bricked: it frozes playing War wings.
Sent in warranty to LG repair center they changed the mobo and sent me back in 4 weeks: how many time could work now?

Try entering download mode with phone disconnected from USB cable.
Also try to see if it gets recognized by LG-UP or by LG Bridge. These 2 softwares don't need download mode to be able to flash, just the phone to be recognized on some PORT.
Try also factory reset hard menu. Also try switching between Slot A and Slot B. There is also this backup method. Phone is not dead on one of those slots.
If nothing works (but slot a slot b should 100% work) , wait for the firehose, it's just around the corner. That will restore the phone back 100%.
For more info search v50thinq on telegram app. :good:
I can t get to download as it freezes and without the USB cable it doesn't even try and enter. I appreciate the recommendations. I was thinking of the a/b seit hbut without the use of fastboot I am at a loss of how to switch between the two as I thought the system chose and the switch happened upon rebooting once a system had been selected ie as in turning the unit off after loading the os set a flag to go to the opposite system upon completing the inftframs and boot sequence.

So, if the device, as you say, lost power during an update like that, then almost assuredly you have at least one, if not numerous corrupted partitions.
And, it's specific partitions on the device that allow it to enter download mode. One of these most know about or have heard of is the laf partition. But other have to be there also for it to work, I don't remember exactly what the others off the top of my head, but that info is easily found.
The key thing you need (or any others commenting same prob), is to be able to enter EDL mode and have qfil installed and recognizing the device. If you can get that far, it would be easy to find the correct partitions you could flash with qfil and then immediately go from qfil to download mode.
Many many people have done this. Just get qfil set up (see guides section) and get the device recognized. that takes some effort but it's def doable.
