TWRP recovery is in process. I helped bigbiff with it on the Note 2014 and he has started on the Pro 8.4. It make a couple of days but we will get a recovery.
If the boot loader is locked does that mean he is working on a safe strap. I have a vzw note 3 and SS blows.....

Not locked. Just the Knox efuse which gets tripped when you root. Bigbiff needs kernel source to finish TWRP. I have given all the partition information.

I have tested a TWRP recovery. He has a few kinks to work out but we should have something soon.

Do you know what he's doing for the kernel? Trying to make the stock kernel work?
Either way, you may want to point him at the thread I just created in case he wants to build off of that.

He is trying to make the stock kernel work. Recovery booted fine it was just stuck showing landscape TWRP while device is in portrait and was not showing data partition for backup. I have sent him logs and partition info he needed. Are you getting this device? I know you did great work for my old Rezound and DNA.

I have had the device for a couple of days but I don't get much time to work on android development so we'll see how things go with this tablet on the CM front.

Getting closer. Recovery is booting fine now. A couple of small issue to iron out. Once this is released by bigbiff please donate or give him props. He has now worked on the Note 2014 and the Pro 8.4 just by me PM'ing him.
Might be a dumb question, but when this is working for the pro 8.4 will it also work for the 10.1 or is that a whole 'nother animal?

Whole other animal. You will need to contact one of the TWRP people. Bigbiff is doing the 8.4 and he did the Note 2014 also. The Note 2014 is very very similar. If you PM him you will need to have ADB working and be able to follow instructions from him. I have been pulling and sending logs.
Anyone capable of making TWRP themes? We are getting close on fully working TWRP for 8.4. He is going to get exfat support built in. The theme he has works but only uses 2/3 of the screen.
@nrage23 Any more progress on TWRP? I really hate using the CWM currently available.

He got 2.6.3.2 working well but they are releasing 2.7 so he is working on that now. There is no theme for a 1600 x 2560 device anywhere for TWRP. I got a theme very close and he is trying to finish fixing that as well.

Hi there,
After I have tried to shrink a titan black bottom navigation bar. I have found that it is required several steps to do in resizing this bar. So I created a zip file that can be flashed through CWM in order to resize a Nav. bar by half in both portrait and landscape orientation. In fact, this function can be found in PA (ParanoidAndroid) custom firmware. You can also find a manual way in resizing this bar by de-compiling and re-compiling framework-res.apk but if you are lazy to do or do not know how to do and want to stick with an original rom, this is your solution.
Sorry that I could not provide a screenshot but after modifying you will be surprised on a larger usable screen area on your N7.
*** Warning - DO back up your ROM first, in case anything goes wrong. This works on a stock firmware. Please do not try on a custom rom as I could not guarantee a result. Edit: Some users reported that this does NOT work with a custom rom as well as a stock 3G model. ***
Tested environment - Asus Nexus 7 Stock JB 4.2.2
Edit : A stock framework added for going back to default, in case forgot to do a backup.

make a nandroid backup & try it yourself that is the only way you are gonna find out & if it doesn't then at least you can revert back to your backup without any problems
Will do, just wanted to see if anybody had tried it first I'll post back with results in the next few days
EDIT: So I tried this instead of doing my revision, and my ROM wouldn't boot. Naturally, I restored the nandroid backup, but when I rebooted, the same thing happened; it now hangs on the boot animation and won't do anyhting useful!
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Normally, a backup option in CWM would archive all data in a device except /sdcard. Which version of CWM did you use ?

Well, no plan for a custom ROM right now. I am going to make a mod on N4 first. Thanks for interesting my work anyway.
I've been looking for something just like this for my Nexus 4. Anybody going to be kind and make it? I've tried myself and failed several times already... No biggie since I made a backup before screwing my phone up several times. I'm running a stock rooted rom, and nobody likes to make many cool mods like this if you want to stick with the stock. After I get a smaller nav bar my next goal is to make the icons green.

Hey, I have a T-mobile Galaxy S3 running on rootbox 4.2.2 and CWM recovery installed. I want to know if my phone compatible to run dual boot.
If yes, please leave me a link to the tutorial post. Thanks for reading.
No. Only by juggling backups with recovery.
I wish that they would make a multi-boot recovery like what they have for the Droid RAZR... While that was born out of necessity, I liked the ability to have up to 4 seperate ROM installs at a time - a LOT.

Is there any reason why? is there a major difference with the Roms? as i said i want as close to 4.4.2 Stock as possible
There's no big difference, it's a matter of personal taste.
Cyanogenmod is the most popular rom available, its a company now, if youd like to know

Recommendation, before you go flashing a custom ROM, make sure you FIRST make a Nandroid backup. You can do this after you install TWRP or Clockworkmod. The Nandroid backup will allow you to easily restore to stock in the event you run into issues or don't like the ROM you flashed. Another recommendation, take 2 backups. I am just overly cautious with this stuff and like to ensure I have a means to back out. There is a documented recovery step using the LG tool but the backup would be easier.

Any one??? Would there be any other rom I could use for this device? Please help me out.
To my knowledge there are no ROMS because the 10.1 does not share the same architecture with the 8.4 (I am not a developer). That being said, there are multiple devices out there that use the Exynos architecture (http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/Exynos/showcase.html) so I believe it is only a matter of time.

Thanks for the reply! So basically there is no rom because there is a differeynt architecture. Could I possibly flash the Galaxy Tab 2 rom or something like that? See the problem is that many of games lag and the tablet gets warm. Home screen also has lag.

You can actually "turn off" some of the pre-installed apps without rooting. Go to Settings --> General --> Application manager.
However, not all of then can be turned off. Most of the "Samsung" apps could be turned off.

2) ROOT was not working, so i root it again by myself
3) When i check i tablet information the kernel seems to be the samsung original one.

Has anyone figured this out yet? I tried, and got the TWRP recovery installed, (although at the top of the screen when booting to TWRP it said in red letters, Not enforcing SElinix ?) anyway, then I tried to flash the SU superuser and it boot looped. So I am back at the beginning after managing to get back into TWRP and wiped, and re flashed the new 5.1.1 again. Has anyone else had any luck with this? I haven't tried CF autoroot yet, and to be honest I'm really scared to after this.

Thats well beyond my skills. Thanks tho, but there isn't many developers for our t-900, so it looks like we may have to put up with bloatware for a while.
If/when the 10.1 lollipop update comes out I might take a stab at it... But no promises. I used to do stuff for the Tab 2 10.1 until it broke... And that was using the old Android kitchen. I've never used the new one...
I haven't done any dev work in over a year, and even then it was pretty basic! Lol just a couple of ports and pre-rooted roms.

Why don't you try it?
I'm trying to DL the FW right now, but at this rate I won't have it until sometime tomorrow. Pretty annoying server.
ps. if you try flashfire, make sure you set your tablet date back a month in order to make flashfire think the beta isn't over (it won't work if it sees the date as past September 1).
I'm not sure how flash fire will help since we are already flashed to 511
