Any one??? Would there be any other rom I could use for this device? Please help me out.
To my knowledge there are no ROMS because the 10.1 does not share the same architecture with the 8.4 (I am not a developer). That being said, there are multiple devices out there that use the Exynos architecture (http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/Exynos/showcase.html) so I believe it is only a matter of time.

Thanks for the reply! So basically there is no rom because there is a differeynt architecture. Could I possibly flash the Galaxy Tab 2 rom or something like that? See the problem is that many of games lag and the tablet gets warm. Home screen also has lag.

I would caution against flashing any ROM not specifically for this device.
Give it time - someone will eventually make one.

Same here. I can't wait to have a new rom for my 10.1
It makes me sick to use it with all the overloaded software.
dunno about the 10.1, but I'd donate to have a rom for 12.2 (might be possible to share 10.1 with the 12.2 since they have the same processors?).

You can actually "turn off" some of the pre-installed apps without rooting. Go to Settings --> General --> Application manager.
However, not all of then can be turned off. Most of the "Samsung" apps could be turned off.

Yeah that's true, but I still think that the tablet would be much smoother with cyanogenmod or another rom.

Hello ik4evr,
I write you here because i have not posting enough to be able to write in the rom section...
I want to thank you, i flash your ROM without problem it was exactly what i need to have a clean install.
I notice 3 points that occurs for me :
1) The google keyboard APK was not in MyFiles folder, so i took it from the net.
2) ROOT was not working, so i root it again by myself
3) When i check i tablet information the kernel seems to be the samsung original one.
Thanks,

I installed the rom after wiping /data /system /dalvik cache /cache. (Selected all except ext-card in Twrp)
Alle went well, but surprise, all my apps were still there.
The system is STATUS SE for Android: Enforcing SFEP-sm-t520-4.4.2_0009. I also have the new kernel which I already had.(cannot check it).
Is this ok?
Thanks for making this rom.

Oh ha ha, looks like I forgot to put the google keyboard apk in there. I'll fix that in an update soon. I'm aware of the root issue (now ). Thanks for reporting the issues. Look for an update soon!

Greetings fellow Friends from Galaxy
I just moved myself from the HTC Magic section to this one.. It was quite a jump, the Galaxy S Camera and 4inch screen are AWESOME =)
I have a few noob questions that I don't want to spread through many posts, so i've chosen to get them all here, without polution this forum section. Also they might come in handy for future Galaxy S buyers!
My phone is: 2.1-update1 @ I9000XXJF5
Question #1
Well at first glance everyone's trying to fix the "LAG PROBLEM"... I haven't noticed any lag!! What are we talking about? If its a fix.. i want it too
Click to collapse
the lag problem does not accure instantly after startup, it takes a while to do so.
Question #2
The phone came with Android 2.1, but at samsung-firmwares.com and at this dev section of the forum, i saw the JP3 Froyo release. How stable is this? Is it already a daily driver or a total beta? As an Android lover, i'd love to have the latest
Click to collapse
this release is, lets say, alpha quality, however some do use it daily and seems to be stable so far, but the jit is broken, so dont expect it to be faster than eclair
Question #3
I've used the One Click rooting solution and then the ROM Manager Clockwork to boot into clockwork rom and make a full-system backup. In my HTC Magic i had the recovery ROM (Amon_RA) flashed into the internal phone memory, so even if i didn't have a ROM installed, i was ALWAYS able to boot into recovery. That was a safety plus. How can i flash the Clockwork Recovery directly to my phone, without the ROM Manager? I'd feel more secure if i could count on recovery even if, for example, i flashed a non-working system ROM.
Click to collapse
you can run the clockwork recovery from original recovery by simply running it´s update.zip, this does in fact load the clockwork recovery into memory
Question #4
So what is YOUR favourite ROM? My stock has some unwanted apps, and even worse, it's Eclair. I'd like to switch soon, but i don't know these Galaxy S ROMs Tell me what's the best ROM for you!
Thanks guys, XDA is indeed the #1 place for mobile stuff

If JIT is broken, the rest of new 2.2 features can be achieved through Market tools... I'll stick to 2.1 then. By the way, where's a CLEAN 2.1 Rom? this one has lots of service-provider tools... They suck.

Now That's a fix! So i just have to keep my update.zip of Clockwork Rom in INTERNAL SD CARD so that anytime, anywhere, i just have to perform update.zip and the Clockwork will boot ONCE from RAM and them be cleared at next boot, right?

With the SII, there were Threads on how to port Roms from the international to US version. I tried a few and was successful and I'm really not a programmer but willing to learn. Since there appears to be similarity between the Note 8 and 10.1 could a "how to" be developed to do this? Maybe its too hard and too involved, but thought I'd ask.

I cant say this will work for sure, as i dont have the device I cant say. But considering the similarities between devices, this is what you should do:
1. replace usr / vendor / bin / xbin from 8.0 to 10.1 rom
2. replace boot.img
3. logcat alot.

A little more to get you going: 7SV917532E125122K
Its great that we are working to get developers interested in the Note8.0. There are already many custom Roms out for the 10.1 and the Note II.
With the similar Hardware on both these devices I would hope we could find a way of porting some of these Roms to the Note 8.0. This would open up the options to Note 8.0 users dramatically. I have attempted to port but I don't have the skills needed. Can anybody with more knowledge be it the original developer or a more experienced person get behind this effort?

Hi Everyone,
As the title says I am a noob to rooting and have been researching the various roots, kernels, roms and add on packs, and some answers on what would be the best package for my phone to accomplish the results of what I would like to do,
My Phone Specs:
Samsung Galaxy SII
SGH-T989 (T-Mobile)
4.1.2 (Android Version)
3.0.31-1003885 (Kernel Version)
What I would like to accomplish is remove a bunch of bloatware that came with phone (mainly all of the T-Mobile bloat)...and I would like to connect my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet to the phone and be able to use the phones data connection as a wifi connection via usb tethering.
There it is, let the feast begin...

This link will help you how to root. Before you click on it and follow the steps, when you get to step 13, skip to step 18, and then go back to step 14, but skip 18 this time around. This makes a nandroid backup of your ROM (Recovery Menu > Backup).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195283
After you've rooted, download "Root Browser" or something similar to that from the Play Store.
After starting Root Browser up, browse to system/app. Then there will be a load of apps there. Simply click on it and select uninstall.
Be sure to know what you're uninstalling. If you mess up, just restore from the backup you made earlier in recovery.
As for your second option, I'm not sure how to help you with that, sorry!
Good luck!
EDIT: I found a person you had a problem while he was rooting. This thread will take you there and show you he solution as well

CyanogenMOD is probably still the biggest, and if you're new to custom ROMS and rooting, it helps to be able to Google for answers. I see Jedi around a bunch here too, so you'd probably be okay getting help here, but I don't know much about it (I stick with CM). The latest out is CM 10.1 (which is Android 4.2.2).
Another step (once you get confident with using the various ROM/rooting tools) to fine-tuning your phone is updating your radio, and there's an excellent thread with the radios listed for the T989 here.

Yup he's right CM is the biggest in custom ROMs but you can start off with the ROMs based on stock like Jedi, Infamous, & Northern Touch, etc.
Then after you become comfortable with flashing you can move onto AOSP ROMs.

Q&A for [ROM] CM11 Development for T210(R)
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [ROM] CM11 Development for T210(R). If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Keep up the great work. Looking forward to some updates, wouldn't mind running CM11 on a Touchwiz tablet. It'll definitely increase performance. I have CM11 on my S4 Mini and it's fantastic. Much better than the slow Touchwiz stock ROMs. Samsung needs to learn a few things from you awesome developers!
Well done for the great progress and to even be able to run CM11 at this early stage is a big accomplishment!
I bow down to your awesomeness! +1,000

Okay, I assume you mean give more detail? (btw thanks for making it possible to have CM11 on my Tab- even though it's not working ATM Ii appreciate the effort put into it!) I'm running 4.4.2 KitKat, and I'll try to run through what I did from the beginning:
1. Loaded CWM onto the Tab through Download Mode via ODIN. Went well.
2. Rebooted and loaded the CM11 PreAlpha 3 from my pc onto the Tab. No problems.
3. Booted into recovery. Did not back up, as I factory resetted the tab a day or so before trying this (I know I should have done it anyway though...). Went well.
4. Installed the CM11 zip. Loaded fine, but the ROM didn't start up (stayed in spinning animation) and I had to leave the Tab to run out of gas before I tried it again.
5. After trying to reinstall the CM11 ROM, it loaded up fine. Was slightly laggy, but no other problems. Until....
6. Tried to turn on Wi-Fi in setup. Wouldn't turn on, and I thought it was a little bit weird. Continued to set up without a CM account.
7. Tried to turn on wi-fi. Didn't work. Went into settings, would turn on but would still display "turn on wifi" and wouldn't display any routers. Tried to scour the web for help, and decided to factory reset the Tab again. Also cleared cache.
8. Same thing happened again. Tried re-flashing CM. Didn't help.
9. Now trying to sideload the PreAlpha 2 because the Tab is taking a long time to turn on, i.e. won't escape the startup logo (this time Samsung).
That's about what I did. Any help?

No, I meant for you to actually read the OP (original post). It clearly states "THIS ROM IS NOT READY FOR THE COMMON USER" and also states "Please do not post bug reports for the time being. I am aware that it has many, many issues. Please only post relevant DEVELOPMENT discussion."

Oh. So it does. Ah well, I guess I'm gonna have to see this through or try and install the stock rom again. Sorry for wasting your time.
Am I the only one not being able to install CM11 at all? I just install it from philz and reboot system and it just goes back to recovery. Help? Been trying everything here.

Ok.... Thank you so much!!! I will give it another try after this one didnt work... I had given up but I will try and flash again.... I will let you know the turnout
Thanks for the ROM. I'll be testing and report back on how it works for me.
One issue I immediately see if that wifi seems to not be working for me. Every time I try and turn it on, it is either greyed out and I can't toggle it, or if I am able to toggle it, it just doesn't do anything. I rebooted, still same issue. I think I flashed it properly (I wiped data, cache, dalvik, system), but I may try flashing again.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix for this?
EDIT: Did a second full wipe and flash and still no wifi. Everything else seems to work connection wise, airplane mode, bluetooth, mobile data, just not wifi.
Already fix that problem
A new update should be here soon it is being uploading to mega wifi is fix

DPI change?
Hey, the ROM is still going smooth. No real issues so far (except my battery life isn't as good as before, but it's not terrible or anything).
I have been trying to change the DPI on this ROM, but I have not been able to make it stick. I have tried using the build prop editor app as well as directly editing the build prop via ES File Explorer. Neither has worked. Has anyone been able to change their DPI or is there something specific that I need to do to get it working?
