I must first say THANK YOU ALL (gr8nole, phil13 , jamison904 and many many more, sorry for not mentioning you) for so much useful information and development on all aspects of the Samsung tab 3 7.0 (SMT210, SMT210R)
I was wondering what I am doing wrong?????????/
Rooted SMT210, with prerooted.tar.md5 from jamison904, flashed philz_touch 6 CWM recovery, then tried everything to flash rom NO success, as the error is constantWith cwm(philz_touch 6) recovery, Odin3.07, Hiemdall under raring 13.04).
Tried on both linux and windows 7 machines. (Download checked and md5 ok)
Format () expects5 args, got 4
(status 7)
Installation aborted
Any ideas would be gratefully received
My aim is to achieve BlackHauwk Kernel, RocketTab Rom +++

You are an apsolute super star it worked a treat, thank you soo much.
I have spent alot of time as a newbie in this world, looking at various options, most of which are confusing to most people (me included) so after I have done a couple of other devices I was thinking of posting an Idiots guide.
Should I post it? and if yes Where should I post it

BoatUser, I too have noticed that a lot of developers write in such a way that they assume the reader is on par with their thought processes. I am having trouble trying to understand what developers mean when they give an ambiguous statement like "clean flash" and do not define clean flash. These guys are brilliant but lack very basic communication skills in expressing how to do something. I have seen it in many a software engineer. An idiot proof guide is always welcomed.

Clean flash means flashing with a full wipe (formatting system, data, cache and etc) so they can remove old system files and other things of the old rom or frimware and install a rom with a clean version

Ripshock, thanks! After much reading I know what a clean flash is now. But I had to search high and low for the definition. My point was that key phrases that are understood by the developer and "those already in the know" are not defined for those new to the game. If the developer would just give specific instructions (step by step) then I think more would better understand and fewer questions about procedures would be asked. Just saying.

Point is I wanted a step by step guide to be accessible to everyone. Thanks for the support roboticbuddy, and thanks for your initial work.

Hi,
I was able to install the CWM recovery of Y201 from the below forum on the Fusion 2 using the fastboot flashing recovery steps for Fusion2. ":/fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" with the Y201 recovery file saved in the same folder.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35908322
even tho the Y201 recovery is little slower on the Fusion2, I was able to backup the rom, install new custom roms of Y200 and restore the original carrier rom.
The y200 roms I installed and successfully booted into fusion 2 were:
1) CleanBaseRom#5.zip (same as carrier rom with out most of att junk)
2)ICS_OS_20130203.zip (same as carrier rom with ICS theme, had problem with gallery and screen would not turn on from sleep)
Didnt see much difference so restored the carrier rom back.
Hopefully this helps

Use this step by step walkthrough to flash fully functional CWM for the Huawei Fusion 2!!

I want to flash a custom rom on my Note 2 from bell mobility.
I'm following steps from wiki called How To Install CyanogenMod Android for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE ("t0lte")
When I type heimdall flash --recovery recovery.img --no-reboot, it gives me a message "heimdall is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."
What am I doing wrong?
First of all what is your model number? Are you rooted? Custom recovery?

I'm not rooted. I'm following the steps in "Installing a custom recovery on Galaxy Note 2 LTE"
Samsung devices come with a unique boot mode called Download Mode which is very similar to Fastboot Mode on some devices with unlocked bootloaders. Heimdall is a cross-platform, open source tool for interfacing with Download Mode on Samsung devices. The preferred method of installing a custom recovery is through this boot mode. Rooting the stock firmware is neither recommended nor necessary.

Thank you but this one is using odin I think. I heard that Heimdall is better. If you go to the cyanogenmod website and select Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE ("t0lte"), then you can click "How To Install CyanogenMod Android for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE ("t0lte")" and it has the instuctions. This is the part I'm having a problem with. This is the guide they provide for the cyanogenmod, so it's kind of "official" and that's why I want to use it. Also when I'm stuck at something I want to figure it out instead of jumping from one thing to another. I don't understand why it's not working I'm following all the instructions. I'm wondering if anyone used the method I'm trying to use.
Have you installed Heimdall on your mac computer? You have to install it on your computer, NOT on your phone..
Then you place your phone in download mode, and run the heimdall command from your Mac..
AND, if instruction on XDA appear "too sophisticated" for you, then you are NOT ready to root your phone, trust me on this one..
But hey, its your phone, so go crazy....

Hahaha:good: It's just a matter of following steps. And from reading the guide I don't need to root my phone. I like when everything is complete and clear. After so many years I though it would become simpler to install a rom, not more complicated.
I have a PC, not a Mac. But how do I install it on my computer? It doesn't say neither how nor that I need to in the instructions.

They look sophisticated, but I can still do them. I flashed roms with odin on my galaxy s 2. However I already started with something so that's how I want to finish it. Also the creator of the rom provides instructions how to install his rom so that's why I want to do it that way.
Heimdall is for mac's not pc's, so if you want to install ANY custom rom on your phone, you need to be able to use Odin
and, you MUST root your phone to install Cyanogen mod or any custom rom, period, no matter what you might have read..

Odin.
I just did mine yesterday. I recommend you use the TWRP version for now because I had a lot of problems with the CWM file). In a nutshell:
1. download/install Odin on a windows PC (google for details)
2. read all the details in the CWM thread in the 8.0 development section but...
3. download the ODIN file in the TWRP thread in the 8.0 development section (use this file instead of the CWM-ODIN file, otherwise follow the CWM instructions)
4. if everything works correctly, your tablet reboots at the end with an "updating" prompt. When it is back up you can launch the SuperSU app to confirm it worked.

Google.. Is Your Friend..
Root on T310
I used odin 3.07 on my T310 and it worked for me.
BUT I had to use the Root-SGT3-80.zip file after twrp2.60.
Have used terminal to check su. and it works.
Problems I still have are\
1. No UMS (USB Mass Storage).
2. No ADB support with win XP, Tried 1.5.18.0 Drivers. But Samsung ADB driver doesn't load
I've made this simple and small tool seeing some people have bricked their devices BUT are able to access TWRP.
For some reasons they don't use the usb_otg, might it be they don't have the otg cable or something other, doesn't matter.
Maybe they aren't familiar with command prompt(command line), adb etc.
Q) What does this tool do ?
A) It let's you choose the desired rom, then checks if the device is connected and finally pushes the rom.zip to your internal storage.
Q) What does this tool NOT do ?
A) It doesn't install the rom.
You may add comments, questions, requests or graphic_design_help since my gui sucks badly.
Some prerequisites have to be met, adb driver should be installed. If you have ever rooted successfully that should be covered then

Thx for comment m8 . It's a 1 hour project so it can only be expanded with more features (should come handy for new users i hope). I've already seen what I can improve..(well..like I said..1 hour project )
Though I don't have this device, i must say you have made life simple for many. Thank you bender.

I've made this simple and small tool seeing some people have bricked their devices BUT are able to access TWRP.
For some reasons they don't use the usb_otg, might it be they don't have the otg cable or something other, doesn't matter.

Hmm. Depends on which version you had installed. I think TWRP supports OTG since 2.6.3.x (not sure which version)
Hmmm maybe... I had twrp 2.6.3 and as I was worried about the device I didn't know what am I doing. I downloaded all the rooms requiring latest twrp and those didn't flash... Then I thought about adb sideload which I had totally forgotten... Then I first updated recovery via sideload then flashed paranoid Android xD
adb pusher

Either a running android system with enabled usb debugging
or
just enter twrp recovery(you don't need to select adb sideload), just connect it while in twrp.
it would be great to have a tool like All-on-one toolkit by @spyrosk that made everything easier on Optimus 2x...

Will take a look into it. Might need some testers then and graphic designers so if the tool fails I can always say: "Yeah, sorry, but look at the graphics m8." jk

May be an option to dump baseband to sdcard can be added along with a way to backup efs partitions. That would prove gr8 for restoring jb from kk or flashing kk after jb @bender_007. Just a suggestion

XDA rules
Dr. Ketan, firstly thank you for the great Rom. I meant to write it on your ROM forum but I can't. So, now I have to make new posts only to be able to write on your rom forum. Maybe it is time XDA changes its rule in regards to how many posts should be done before allowing posting in meaty forums.
BTW, you ROM is really smooth. Thanks.

+1. on Dr. Ketans awesome rom.
Albeit Im in a situation right now that rendered my phone in stuck in the samsung logo. Encountered a problem with 3minit batt mod and flashed the stuck-in-download fix but got stuck in bootloop, restored backup via TWRP but still does not progress forward the Samsung logo. Tried flashing via ODIN, the latest TWRP and now I cant even boot in TWRP.
Hairlines growing thinner.
Any help is appreciated.

You can try flashing a new bootrom with odin and then maybe reload TWRP and restore your backup

Thank you. Bootrom would mean a m5d/tar format ROM right? I would really like to push the previous backup i did but its not in a single file format as twrp truncates them into pieces of m5d files, even looking inside dr. ketans v10 rom, there is no single m5d file. Any hints I can achieve this, or should i just push any m5d rom just to recover? (Sorry downloading a gig of file takes long where I am)
