It was asked before but cannot find it. I belive barcardilmon said a fix but havent found it so im asking again. When wifi is on I have 0 bars. When its off I have my regular bars like 2 or 1 of LTE but its odd that it drops to 0 when wifi is on.

Do you have WiFi calling activated? If you do, that disactivates your mobile radios and all calls are placed over your WiFi network.

Just like the title says. I'm using Wicked's V.5 with UVLI8. I've looked at other threads with other devices and I've seen no resolution.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

have you ever been able too? b'c on past phones while on wifi the mobile network would kick in to let the mms go Thru or come in then go back to wifi when it was done
Check if wifi calling is on. If it is turn it off and it should work.

Seems like a work-around. I'll test, but still, it's a pain to have to turn wi-fi calling off and on to receive a MMS. Why wouldn't I just turn of wi-fi for the moment till the MMS comes thru?
You can do that too. But for many its good enough to be a fix... If you're like me and don't use wifi calling.
I know it sucks, but at least you'll know what's causing it. Maybe if enough people complain they'll fix it.
I've heard some 3rd party apps allow mms to send over wifi and therefore will work with wifi calling.
Tmobile only allows mms to send over data connection.

Are you sure? I get pix all the time at home and I'm showing 100% without signal. 0 bars but still the triangle. This is with Wi-Fi calling always on. Stock and xquizit.
Sometimes I do get the "data roaming" lost connection bs and lose Wi-Fi calling.

Well, I was sure until I read your post! :what: lol
I guess it could very well be that it was fixed with UVALH2 and i forgot. Maybe I just need to go to sleep!

Similar thing happens to me. Wifi get stuck or conflict with Data signal.
I always turn Network Data off 1st, then turn WiFi on - once WiFi fully loaded => turn data on. That way it prevent wifi conflict. Works for me.

You might be partially right lol. There was a thread about turning mobile data off and that killed MMS over WiFi. All I know is that I'm able to send and receive MMS at home and I have no cell signal. There's no way the MMS are going through the cell tower. Technically speaking I do have some sort of signal. Even though it says no signal it's a blank triangle and not the circle with a line through it. It's enough to register with the network I guess...
I think I need sleep too. Turning WiFi off gave me the no signal circle. So iono wtf.
I know this has something to do with the custom ROM I'm using (Wicked V.5). I've never seen this issue, and I've been using Androids for 2 years. Even before I flashed Wicked, I had no issues on the same device on the same WiFi network.
Xquizit xD works fine for me.

I bet you have Connections Optimizer turned on by default. In the settings menu click
More Settings > Mobile Networks > Connections Optimizer > uncheck the box in the top right.
Basically, it saves your known wifi locations and turns it on when you are in that area. It drove me nuts when I first got the phone.
Ok. ...I tried that and it was on but wifi STILL keeps connecting. ... it's blowing my mind

If it was on, did you turn it off?
Yes I did
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
I've had that happen on a phone that didn't have the connections optimizer. I think I fixed it by unchecking 'Notify me when an open network is available' in the advanced settings. Have you tried that? Not sure if it will work for you...
Ok guys what I am looking for is for the guys that can send mms with Wi-Fi calling off and Wi-Fi on. Can you please post screen shots of your apn please. Both pics all the way down. Need to compare what is going on with my phone.

Yeah I need to check why I can't send mms unless I shut Wi-Fi off. Everyone else switches to mobile data to send then comes back to wifi

I spoke too soon. This fixed it for me after the first reboot, but after a subsequent one it's back to send failed when on Wi-Fi calling. It dies fix receive while on Wi-Fi calling, though.

My issues was with Wi-Fi on and Wi-Fi calling off. You might wanna try changing ur Wi-Fi calling setting to use cellular when available. The middle one then reboot. Should be good to go

Yep that works fine. I really wish it worked with Wi-Fi calling enabled though.. :-\
According to Textra, they are working with T-Mobile to allow them access to Wi-Fi mms , like the stock app does.

So I noticed that I never get more than like half a bar at home, and they sent me a hub to put in. That's working fine, and the bandwidth is plenty, but I still never have any bars. And it's not just at home, it's pretty much everywhere. 4g is working just fine. Anyone know of a tweak or custom modem that fixes this? I'm missing calls sometimes it's so bad.
Thanks!

that would be a great idea if i had wifi in my car
So, after being unable to use T-Mobile inflight texting and Gogo not being able to tell me much about why, I finally tried to see if I could connect to wifi calling at home (where it has and still does work regularly) while in Airplane mode. To my surprise, I couldn't, and the moment I turned Airplane Mode off, wifi calling came right back. Has this been everyone else's experience as well? Any known workarounds?
TIA

Because airplane mode turns off the WiFi radio?
Sent from my VS986 using XDA Free mobile app
But I can turn wifi back on and use it with airplane mode on. Wifi calling never comes back, and I didn't have this problem with my T-Mobile Note 3.
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
I can definitely use wifi calling while in airplane mode. Are you getting a REG99 error? or an ER81?
I'm getting the REG99 error indeed. And if I pay for gogo, I can connect and use the WiFi, just can't use the WiFi calling.
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
Nope, I had the same error while on the plane. I've made three trips recently, and all of them have failed. I hit up the customer service through their website on my phone, and each time, was granted a two hour pass (duration of the flight) to use hangouts instead.
This occurred on different airlines with all three flights.
TMO was not able to figure this out either, since I had them look into this since the first time it failed on me.
Yeah, definitely seems like my phone won't do WiFi calling when airplane mode is on.

There are documented problems with wifi calling and xposed. As I recall, the gist of it is that with xposed installed, Wi-Fi calling works only if lte is available. Without xposed, wifi calling will work with wifi only, as it's expected to.
There's a thread somewhere here about this on the t-mobile section. Basically if you install a deodexed rom, wifi calling works as it's supposed to.
Thanks for the heads up! Guess I won't be wifi texting on flights.
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
Circling back, flashing a deodexed ROM indeed fixed it. Thanks! [emoji106]
