It was asked before but cannot find it. I belive barcardilmon said a fix but havent found it so im asking again. When wifi is on I have 0 bars. When its off I have my regular bars like 2 or 1 of LTE but its odd that it drops to 0 when wifi is on.

just curious of people use it or not? On the EVO LTE you wanted to keep wi-fi off as it tended to cause problems when switching from wi-fi to 4g (the problem being you would not get any 4g signal.)
Nope. Annoying having that crap pop up constantly
Sent from my SPH-L710 using XDA Premium HD app
mine is checked (which I believe means it is on) but I never have anything pop-up to suggest a different network etc. It does automatically switch to wi-fi given the chance.
God no.

That is one of the 109 items that are frozen.
Deleted from my phone, long time ago.
That's the Sprint "don't use your unlimited data".

I can't stand it. I have to disable it then remove the apk to actually turn it off. Very frustrating. My girlfriends Zte Flash won't allow you to disable either. Kind of a crappy "feature".

I drive around doing property maintenance all day and have lots of hotspots so leave mine on. I am surprised at how many times I pull out my phone and am on a wifi network, and no pop-up for me either. There is a setting to disable that somewhere.

It seems to me that you need it to get 4g. Am I wrong in this observation? Is it just coincidence that I don't pick up 4g when its off?

You don't need it at all to get 4G.
I hate the thing. First thing to go when I flashed.
Heck no.
The optimizer did not seem to optimize anything for me.

Absolutely not! As soon as QBKing77 showed how to stop it, it was gone!

Freeze it every time. Seems pretty pointless to me.

The only thing it did for me was to optimally drain my battery.
Am I the only one having problems with dropped calls and signal? In my room it never used to drop to no service but after I flashed an international rom it did? Anyone experiencing this or have any advice?

No not that kind of problem. However I have noticed the new lte is always cutting out when it switches from 4g to lte and back. Imo I think this whole new lte thing needs to be ironed out. I get better luck with shutting lte off from the sett8ng menu.

ahh, yes it was very annoying not having working internet especially while my other buddy on TMO would have internet . but after doing the Settings > More networks > Mobile networks > Network mode > and switching between the WCDMA and GSM one or the other now will work. thanks.

I have as well, when I previously had full bars on my Nexus 4 it drops to one or no bars, happened on stock and on CM, I've heard the old baseband may fix it, but no one has been able to pull a working version yet. I'm hoping they ever push an updated radio or something soon, I love the phone, but not having service is quite annoying.

i dont think its the roms, i think its between the modem and tmobile switching/migrating/upgrading to LTE and them having some slight issues.
It might be because I've only noticed the bad signal after flashing an international rom

What APN are you using? I'm using the fast t-mobile APN. LTE works perfect?
Edit. I would agree with xeonox
My buddy is on stock rom and we have identical reception. I'm running omega from the I9505 forum
SGH-M919_Omega, the end result

Normal, same thing happens if you're on HSPA it would drop to 3G and 3G to EDGE or GPRS depending.
Tmobile doesn't have voice over lte so that is normal behavior

I hit thanks by accident. No, it's because the phone can't keep an LTE connection at the same time as a phone call. Fast dormancy has to do with HSPA+.
Sent from my Galaxy Note 2
I know I forgot the name but it will always drop to the next lowest connection during a call say edge to g or whatever. Thats just an example or hspa to edge.

Has anyone had an issue with the phone not holding the lte signal? If I toggle airplane mode or reboot it'll pick up lte for about 3-4 min then it drops to 3g

weird I never had an issue with holding a LTE connection. Even when I travel to areas that dont have 4G or even 3G, when I get back near good coverage it will automatically switch back. Sense or AOSP ROM?
Both. I was traveling this week I wonder if the xray fried my sim

Very possible! Its at least worth a try with another SIM.
BTW, I remember you from the VZW S4. You still Deving?
Yes I am. I'm involved with team gummy. I have a aosp kernel for One also. I put my SIM in my razr m when I got home last night and it only picked up 3g. So it is most definitely the SIM.

Good Deal!:good::good::good:
I got my Note 3 a couple of weeks ago, and my signal is terrible 99% of the time. I rarely get more than one bar, and I get 3mbps download and 1 upload on LTE. With my T-Mobile S4 at the same address, I easily got 4-5 bars and 30mbps download and 5-10 upload. I'm thinking modem issue, but then again I'm on KitKat, and it seems everyone's having one issue or another. Anyone else feel like the signal quality has gone down from the S4 to Note 3 for them?
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
I switched to the note 3 from an s4 and feel the signal is a LOT better on the note 3. Even more improved on kitkat. Maybe you got one with a bad internal antenna connection?

Maybe, I'm calling T-Mobile later on today to see what they say about it.

Have you tried to Odin back to 4.4.2?? Maybe the radio is corrupted

Signal is a lot more better with note 3. Maybe it is in your signal reception.

Yep, flashed back to stock NB4, which is what it came with. No change. What I recently noticed is, if I make a call, my signal goes up to full bars, but as soon as I hang up it drops immediately.

mine was not stable also, but its not so poor or low signal

I think so. I am planing to talk to T-Mobile to sure about this.
There are times that it would go high and suddenly go down. But usually my signal is stable
