Can anybody suggest a good video recording app? I am in custom rom and dnt like the video cam on it! Please pour in your suggestions. And is there any way to get the samsung camera on Custom rom?

ATTENTION:
I am still fixing the video recording problem lag issue, because it is capturing video at 720X480 which is 480p. Please DONT flash this file if you use your phone to take video frequently. PLEASE SNQ!! can you somehow port the stock camera app with everything working JUST fine! can u please make a flashable zip of the froyo cam. i dont miind pressing the trackpad unless the videos in landscape MEAN landscape and the audio is in sync! Stock cam was so so good n ever since ive moved to custom roms.. cameras are just screwed up!!!

which custom rom are you using, i am using MIUI-XJ and video recording is good.

He's obviously using a Sense based rom and he's basically complaining about how Sense roms have screwed up camera when it comes to video playback. If there was a way to fix this, obviously the devs would have done it by now..
this is alternative to cm7 camera.. all feature works.. (tested by me on gingercruzt rom)
install as normal app..

i never found this option in cm7 camera.
the app "lgcamera" is not so good, lags alot, the video recorder have a lag in audio.
you know another method? i tried to use the torch app with the original camera app, but didnt work :\

that's why I search another camera app.. I've search this forum for camera light but found nothing.. maybe you can make a new thread for this issue and ask for some solution..

As you can see, it's much higher quality than stock.
Using LGCamera, it's possible to record at 640x480...but only if you are using 2.2 or 2.1
It's not possible currently to do this with 2.3.x. The developer of LGCamera says on 4pda.ru that it is a firmware problem and to solve it, you should flash back to 2.2

it worked with gio only on froyo 2.2 but doesnt work on gingerbread anymore
i dont know why but it will be helpful if someone tweak it and make it work for 480p video recording is amazing!!

i'm very interested..about 2 months ago i write ti phiezx about this with anything answer...
Because i found a thread of ACE say with a stock rom (i have the code, it's a rom of samf.... i can research my post) the quality of video recording increase..
the camera of ACE is different respect a GIO, but if it's can do dor ace why we can't do for gio...

yes the videos are very true, the source of the video says that in froyo 2.2 LGCameraPro works but with the 2.3.3 update it cant record 480p and i dont know why

Yes, indeed we need some developers on this case. 480p recording would be an amazing addition to our Gio. If only there was someone who had the time and will to do it.

I tried to mix it, tried to get some of the files including the camera apk file in froyo and put them in ginger with root explorer and didnt work, tried to mod the config file and didnt work, someone knows how to make a froyo apk works on ginger?

Me too. I also tried to modify the media profiles.xml replacing 320 to 640 and 240 to 480 but nothing. Please help us! Samsung Wave Y with 2 Mpx camera records @480p and Gio with 3.2 Mpx only 240p? Why in Froyo ROM did it work and in Gingerbread not?

I found out tht camera in cm9 wasnt tht good cos lack of the some feature and slow autofocus(izit all the same for galaxy w camera? ) Any recommendation for camera app ? i mean not the app frm google play store. tq in advance. =)

What do you expect? Even Samsung said ICS was too heavy for our phone! Arco68 is working great to give us the taste of JB, so don't ask about improving camera at least it works. If you want a fully working Camera go back to Stock/GB it is originally made by Samsung so everything works.

Aye, arco has done awesome job.
So be happy, that there are atleast some customs ROMs.
the only good thing that all stock cams (GB/ICS) r good for is video filming, otherwise ull have to surf ur play store to find the cam app that fulfills ur needs (its variable according to the kind of pics u want "super fast capture or super hd clarity or super effects")

paid apps : pro hdr camera, fast burst camera, camera zoom fx, instantanea, PhotoSequence Pro, QuickPic Camera (Donate), lgcamerapro.
you choose the best for ur personal use, and rmbr its usually speed vs. quality so choose wisely

to zoom u shall go to a lower resolution than 5mp (2.4mp is my preferred)
