I don't understand what could have possibly happened but I can no longer send or receive SMS messages but I can still send MMS messages. When I reboot my phone and try it will take a long time to "Send" a message but it doesn't actually send, my phone just thinks it does, but after the first one it goes just as fast as normal. Currently I am running Wicked Sensations Rom 4.3 version, but I was having this problem on a stock rooted rom as well. Also this may or may not be related but I tried to reflash the stock rooted rom before flashing to Wicked and it just wouldn't work, I tried to flash it at least 5 times before I gave up and downloaded Wicked, but even with wicked I had to flash it 3 times before it would get past the boot logo. I have tried all the dialer codes I could think of including ##3282# ##72786# and ##MSL# but those have done nothing.

I've done the Go SMS manual settings, rebooted, restored old rom, installed rootbox, reinstalled old rom again, used Chomp sms, handscent, and stock messenger. Cleared cache, and delvic cache, updated prl, profile, and fixed permissions. Did the ##...## thing too. Not sure what else to try. This is ridiculous. It just happened out of the blue. Was working since I got the phone and with all my roms. I can receive texts and make phone calls, my wife can send me texts and she is sitting next to me.
Any ideas?
Is this an unfixable problem???
Did the teenybin LGNPST and nothing helped. Anyone think doing an entire reset will fix this?
Am I talking to myself?
Reset to stock and if it doesn't work then, take it to sprint.
Well, Teenybin worked once I loaded a new stock rooted rom along with a radio flash and an efs flash. Been able to send texts for a little while now. Hoping it sticks. What sucks is I am worried about loading any new roms to try. Anyway, it's been fun chatting with myself for the most part. :silly:
tried seraching, I guess my wording just wasn't right or maybe Im the only one (doubt it) I rebooted / battery pulled no luck, I tried going back to stock rom so I could update prl, no good it kept giving errors when reloading, when it finally did boot into stock it would freeze a second after loading up. Soooo.. restored back to my backed up 10.1.2 and still no good, I can receive txt via google voice AND mms via stock txt app, but no txt through stock app and no incoming calls.. outgoing is fine... anyone got any ideas ?? IF I were to reload my phone to factory though Kies would that make me loose root and all I have done or can I do that.. update prl then rom manager back to saved 10.1.2 ? I am currently downlaoding 10.2 but I don't think thats gonna help.....
THANK YOU!!!

I have not yet... the update to 10.2 screwed up and ( opr I screwed it up ) and when I tried rebooting back to 1.2 it lost everything like I never had anything setup.. even titanium can't find by backups.. Im gonna try and clean phone out completly and start from scratch... do you know if I should use Kies? or search another way ?? I just don't wanna do the first thing I read and ruin anything...
Well, were you on 4.1.2 before you tried to go to CM 10.2?
Its important to know whether you were on 4.1.2 or had upgraded to 4.3 using the update sprint sent out.
Never did sprint update. Never asked me to. Thats why I wanted to goto stock, update, then do 10.2 but my stock won;t let me load, tried again last night, just errors. Before end of day I am going to verify drop box has my pics and stuff in my internal sd and intend on doing a hard reset, or wipe or watever and start fresh. I am just curios if root will be lost not that that is a huge deal, but when I first rooted it took me quite a bit of tries.
I'm currently running on Wicked 9.1
I figured it had something to do with the baseband firmware, so I used Odin and flashed the M919UVUMK2 modem.bin, did a full data wipe & factory reset. Re installed it, found I had a problem with SuperUser, so after poking and prodding the phone is looking to be everything it needs to. I ran RootChecker and it passed, and looked at the baseband version which says M919UVUMK2.
Is there any information anyone can provide as to why my SMS is a little screwy? We're takling, 5 texts come in at once from the other person when I ask them what's up, like their messages don't go through until I send something first. I even tested it with my own phone number. Currently switching to Infamous 4.4 v3 to see if issues persist.
Hi all,
I recently rooted my SPH-l710 that was updated to 4.3 using this method: http://honai-android.blogspot.com/2013/11/how-to-root-galaxy-s3-sprint-sph-l710.html
Everything worked well and then I flashed the CM11 ROM (snapshot) and again, everything was working well, I could make calls, send and receive text messages and had mobile data. This afternoon, I found out that I had not been receiving text messages, I could send them and people received them, but when they replied, they never came) through on my end. I rebooted, nothing changed, then I did a factory data reset, again, same issue. Then I flashed this stock ROM (deodexed): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541900 and still had the issue. After installing the stock ROM, I updated the PRL profile and I'm still having the issue. At this point, I have no idea what else I can do the fix this issue and I'm hoping someone here can help me.
Thanks in advance.
Did u try reflashing the modem? If that doesn't work its something on sprints end.

I'm shocked that root method even worked for you...did you update your profile as well and then reboot the phone when on stock rom? might wanna get back on the stock rom and try...other things you may wanna try when all else fails, reflash back to completely stock 4.3 which you can do by using my guide in my sig for bricked phones, which you're gonna need to do if you have to go to sprint for it, they won't touch it rooted
I did not try flashing modem, I was under the impression that the modem deals with data and since I had no problems there I didn't bother with it. I did try rebooting after going back to stock rom, but that didn't help. When I first installed cm11 I was having problems with getting Google Voice to work, but I restored the back up a CM 11 when I first installed it and tried google voice again. This time it works and I'm able to send and receive text messages and access voicemail through the app so as long as I don't come across any more issues I'm happy with how it is now. I appreciate all the pointers and if I ever have to go back to stock, I'll refer to this post, thanks.
For some unknown cause, my t999 just stopped receiving sms messages. Doesn't matter what rom I'm using, stock or aosp gets the same results, I've flashed stock through mobile odin, no go, flashed aosp, still no go, flashed stock via Odin on pc and it still won't get messages, my s3 sometimes recieves them at random Intervals during the day and all at once. Sometimes I don't even recieve them at all and has been a major issue for me for the past 5 days now, any assistance in finding the cause of this problem would be gladly appreciated. Oh and it's all a clean flashed, wiped even the internal sdcard
