Remove SCH-435 Bloatware - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright I have been messing with freezing and uninstall most of the bloat that comes on a Verizon Samsung device. But i was wondering is there a list of such that I can compare with. The reason I ask is I know there is more that I could freeze/uninstall but not sure if i should. I want to get the rom as close to AOSP Stock as i can get. If any one has any suggestion I would appreciate it.

You can do a simple search a lot of result will come up: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sitesearch.php?q=list of safe freeze
Pretty much anything start with Samsung you can delete - including the TouchWiz launcher. Obviously to be on the safe side, freeze them for few days, and if it nothing you would use and no side effect - delete them after.

[Q] Remove System Apps??

hey guys i rooted my phone a few weeks back and now an running synergy sense 3.0.
how do i go about deleting the system apps or stock apps that phone will not simply let u uninstall is there an app to do that or do i have to go through the phone hardware itself??
View attachment SdxAppRemoval-1.5.apk
i use this
be careful you can delete important stuff, use caution. back up first!!
I use Titanium Backup to remove system apps.
It has the capability to "freeze" them without actually removing them. This is helpful when you don't really want to get rid of it permanently but just want to stop it from running on its own.
It also allows you to be sure that no problems will be caused by removing the app. If something else depends on it and you start getting force closes you can thaw the app to recover it.
Once you are sure that you want to be rid of it forever you can remove it completely.
off the top your head do u know what all can be removed without messing up pone?
+1 for using Titanium Backup to remove system apps.

At one time I saw someone here trying to build a comprehensive list. Definitely can remove the 'bloat' like Amazon MP3, NASCAR, NFL, Kindle, Nova, Sprint Navigation, and the other Sprint apps.
Things that get you into trouble are things that are integrated into Android (like Google Talk) or HTC Sense.

This is the list I was thinking of:

If you are worried, then only freeze applications one at a time and see how your phone functions. If something is out of whack you can just unfreeze what you had frozen. If you uninstall it, there is a longer process of getting it back onto the phone.

1) Use TI to remove any Bloatware you dont want. Just make sure you do a full backup before toying around. Google "Nandroid" if you dont know how.
2) To each their own. If you want to keep wifi calling you must use one of the Tmobile based custom rom. Jedi Master 10 Rom is great.
3) See 5
4)
5) The devil is knocking but dont do it. Many of the great apps are already fee. Their are VERY FEW paid apps thats worth even the download. For those, its worth it just to pay a few dollars to get endless updates and feature improvements. I came from iOS, and over the years, I came to the realization that apps that are worth pirating is worth paying for. $2 or $3 are peanuts if I really like the apps and want all the latest features. Going the pirate route opens a world of hurt because anyone can infect these pirated apps. You really are ASKING FOR IT. Once you buy an app, you get it for life, so the next android device you run, these apps will continue to be useful. Pirating, honestly, is just a pain the ass. In iOS I would pirate to honestly try out an app, 90% of which I never even use a gain. In Android, its just too risky to be infected with malware. Pirating Android apps is just not worth the hassle.
6) Go wild, try Nova Launcher free

Thanks for the advice. I'll do a search for Jedi Master 10 Rom. The problem is I still haven't mess around much so I don't really know how ROM works or installing them.

The "basic" understanding, for now, when it comes to roms is only flash ones strictly designated for your particular phone model. At least until you get more comfortable with this device, that should be rule number 1. Next thing is to decide what kind of rom you prefer, as there are two basic categories as of right now. 1. Touchwiz based, and, 2. AOSP, AOKP, or other nonTW based roms (like CM, paranoid Android, carbon, etc).
A lot would breakdown 1. Touchwiz based into two subcategories A. Stock (or rooted-stock) and B. Custom TW based... really no difference here but if you like allshare than stay stock (or rooted stock) where as if you dont use allshare then a custom TW still keeps full SPen functionality while allowing OC/UV and other rom specific features, etc.
If TW doesn't float your boat, or you'd rather stay more up to date with like latest 4.2+ releases then option 2 (AOSP, AOKP, etc) roms will be your best bet...
As far as rooting you got various ways but all threads provide adequate instructions
Custom recovery has 2 options CWM and TWRP (I use TWRP, but it shouldn't make a difference, unless the flash OP calls for either one).. Also Odin/Mobile Odin is something you may want to look into
Don't flash anything that mess with your modem/radio/efs (unless you know what your doing and have the right backups)

If you run custom roms no need to worry about bloatware really if you just plan to root just freeze with TB dont uninstall as that can cause some bad behavior. On a side note I highly recommend Jedi XX its awesome!

Great question, would also like to know this information if anyone knows.
try downloading "cleanmaster security" free from playstore in the menu go into apps and it will give you a list of apps that are safe to uninstall, just do one at a time, give it a few hours or maybe half a day and then try another one, make a list as you go so you know what to restore if you have issues
Let me start out by stating this is just what I froze. Obviously I wasn't using the stock launcher so don't freeze/uninstall that if you are. I saw no major problems with all that stuff frozen. I would suggest you freeze vs uninstall that way you can unfreeze if you have problems. If I remember correctly this was on COS 2.0 beta.
Find what? Who the heck is OPPO?

Finally rooted my MS428. What apps are safe to remove?

As the topic says. I'm pretty sure most of the Metro crap is safe to remove. The LG stuff I'm freezing to see if it causes issues. The Google stuff I'm removing. What else can go?
Well, all of google stuff except services framework and store is safe to remove, also your career bloat is safe to remove. But other LG stuff like lg backup is safe to remove but it will crash your settings when you go to backup & reset, however removing any of lg apps won't get you too much benefit in resources because they don't consume much space and also there is chance that you will delete something you shouldn't.
ok, stock deodexed, debloated metropcs rom posted. also posted the stuff i removed. this should give you an idea on whats safe. the rest is simply preference on what you prefer, to debloat though it's best to freeze things and see what happens. if it doesn't break or remove a feature it's pretty much safe to remove. anyway. have given you guys a base to start with. enjoy
