I believe that's just a link to your normal S3 mobile hotspot/tethering options. It's not a separate application from what I can tell.

As mentioned - it's part of the base android features and can't be disabled by the user. It CAN however be turned ON if your carrier has blocked it - see
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732262 for the AT&T info...

Thanks guys :good:
I was just hoping to be able to get rid of that "Mobile Hotspot" app since it's annoying to still see a T-Mobile icon on my app list.
Anything for the tmobile version?

Safe bloatware to remove/frost

Hi everyone!
Can we make a list of all the bloatware that we can safely remove / Titanium freeze without ruin your OGP.
I've stopped this with the Task Manager
- AT&T Messages
- myAT&T
- YPmobile
Thanks!

You can delete some of them directly from your app drawer. Just open your app drawer hit the plus/minus sign in the top right corner and delete. I froze the rest of mine with titanium.
When the f*ck did we get ice cream??

Thanks for the reply.
I did that, but the real reason is the upcoming roms that people will custom and I think they gonna need this info for cleaning/debloating them and stuff.
=)
You won't ruin your phone, you will just have to find the stock ROM (on one of the threads here) and flash it back with LGFlash tool. The obvious ones to remove would be anything AT&T Related using Root Uninstaller if rooted. Also any obvious apps that are preinstalled such as Polaris and Kindle can be removed if chosen too. I also removed all Tests (Bluetooth Test, Wifi Test, etc) Its pretty simple to know what to remove and not to.

I froze everything I don't use with TB. No issues at all.
Yes, they hang low

I've had issues with those apps and I dint know why. Whenever I removed the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi test apps, my phone freezes for 5-10 minutes on boot. Whenever I put them back, its fine again.
Happened on the original firmware and the new one. I've went all the way back to stock too.

Removing T-Mobile Mobile hotspot

Does anyone know how to remove the stock Tmobile Mobile hot spot app? My Note 3 is fully rooted. I looked through many threads and no luck...there is no apk for it under system/aps
Download Titanium Back Up from the Play Store and search for it under "batch freeze". Just make sure you have just the hotspot checked or it will literally freeze all the apps in your ROM..

I grabbed the latest copy of TB and searched for hot spot. I am still unable to find it. Can you please give me more detailed steps on what to look for?

Well, I don't know the name of the actual app. Just look for the icon when you're going through the freeze list

Look for apps named tether or tethering in /system/app and in the /priv-app folder.....
Why do you need to delete this?

I looked through and only see tetherinkprovision.apk under system/app. This is not the right apk as mobile hotspot still remains. I am debloating my phone from all Tmobile crap...

it's in /System/Priv-App folder.......
it looks like the hotspot app may be linked into the SecSettings.apk......
I have the same problem & it looks like the hotspot "app" is really just a link to the tethering menu (like louforgiveno was saying) & thus cannot be frozen. The only real option is to hide it in your launcher. I see you haven't posted in a few days so if you've figured out something else let me know

Evil ATT Address Book

How in the heck can we stop this monster short of rooting and debloating? Everytime I try anything with contacts there it is and I have to hit the back button to escape. There doesn't seem to be a way anywhere to kill this atrocity of an app.
Okay, call me stupid, it gives more options NOT to use it once your SIM is active. So used to HTC Dev Editions, or GPE. Mods can delete.
You should be able to disable it through Apps in Settings. What I usually do is just have it set up then in contacts under settings manually uncheck it so it doesn't sync anything.

They don't let you disable it on the G2, I doubt they'd do so on the G3. One of the reasons I ordered a T-Mobile version.
You'd probably have to do a root-debloat to get rid of it.
I rooted and it's gone after some debloating.

Download titanium backup and freeze all of the AT&T apps this way they can be unfrozen when you need to do an OTA.
Simple....root it and use a root uninstall app. No reason not to root

On my LG G3 I had the same problem and later on a friend asked me to do this and it worked perfectly.
Go to the dialer and type *#*#2666#*#*
Select "Registration" and choose "Completed"
And you should be ok.

Super Samsung v2
I feel it heavy with the same lag like stock rom
Use titanium backup or root explorer, both are fantastic tools. Just be careful you don't delete necessary system apps
Root App Delete
I suggest using Root App Delete. It has a "n00b mode" where stuff only gets disabled and is completely reversible, and all processes are color-coded. Stay away from anything orange or red and you should be fine.
