Plz Help! Got Un-Rooted but now cant update

the person who un-rooted my phone yesterday took a very very long time un-rooting it and then finally camr through , BUT when I got home I noticed now I have Android 2.3.5 basebandT989UVLC8 Kernel 2.6.35.11 and build GINGERBREAD.UVKID
How do I fix this ?????? ugh!'please help!!

al u had to do wsa leave it alone and update the software that t mo has been harrassing every1 to get. might have flash a rom. sounds like its not UNrooted

how can I find out if its un-rooted then? im stuck I am a newb total virgin and I just want my phone stock and updated if you can help me I would sincerely appreciate it.. thank you

Do you have superuser app on your phone now? Can you use root only apps? Do you have Kies downloaded on your PC?

no superuser on my phone, i havent tried using root only apps and yes I have Kies on my PC..

Then use kies to grab the latest update.

I tried but the update doesnt pop up on kies.. yet it recognizes my device

Ok Kies finally told me that my device is not supported.. wtf? I take it that my phone is still rooted in some sort of way?

do you have stock recovery, or did he leave cwm on it? Did you use an official tar?

Do you know how to boot into recovery? If your on stock recovery and whoever unrooted your phone did not wipe data and cache it could give you issues.

Please help me

Hi guys I have a HTC one v unrooted on ICS 4.0.3 and I'm trying to roll it back to its state before I installed the OTA update and I am having trouble identifying what Rom I should use. Any help would be welcome I am a complete noob I have not rooted the device or installed a custom Rom and was bought sim free. Thanks guys

Why is that all I want to do is roll back from the OTA to the previous state before any OTA updates as I can no longer access the beats audio settings I have no interest yet in rooting the device with a custom firmware unless i really have to as like I said i am a complete noob to all this.

cause to flash something u need root access and downgrading is not possible without that!

so i would need to root the device then flash the device with a with an ruu of an older version to downgrade and then unroot the device right?

ok so here comes my next question how do I find out the current version and the previous version as i have seen soo many recovery image files and versions for European phones alone. I have CID getter which says i have primo_u_ICS_40A and my cid is HTC__001 is this my current veriosn or am i looking at the wrong info

Start in fast boot there will be ur cid id

Whether rooted or not rooted, there is no way to downgrade once you've done the OTA.

untill we have s-off u can't downgrade
s-off is currently not possible.. soo

Hi, does anyone still have a good gingerbread firmware? 4.x.x firmwares are too laggy and battery runs out too fast so..
XXLD8 or XXLL2 would be the best

Try to use a stock 4.1.2 rom with Chrono kernel he make the rom more smoothly

Flashing 3part without changing settings will automatically repartition. Just flashing 1 part would be enough. If apps dont FC

I already have Russian FW but there are too much crappy apps which i won't use.

it's safy for you if you want downgrade your phone to use firmware with 3 files !
i have the same issue before & i bricked my phone when i flash it with a simple firmware with one file !
it's recommended !
for the app did you wish delete use titanuim backup

Ive heard of people deleting bloat without root but via console(adb..?)...(i never bothered check if its true though..)

I'm aware of the console thingy. I've bricked 2 phones out of 2 times so... I'm really bad at those kind of things.

[Q] Need Help - loosing root

Hi guys
Been a while since I've been on the forum.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 - Tmobile and tripped the knox protection.
The issue I'm having is that I keep on loosing root after reboot.
This is the specs of the phone as is:
Model - GT - I9505G
Android 4.4.2
Baseband - M919UVUEMK2
Kernel [email protected] #1
Build KOT49H.08.19.2014
My phone is acting funny (loosing signal, no satelite connection on gps) so I need to root again and install a new rom and kernel. maybe update the modem.
I'm using windows 8.
Please advice where to take it on the next step.

Update to the NH7 bootloader. Or at least reflash the stock MK2 firmware and root with CF auto root

You have a i9505G......You need firmware for that device. Not M919........
And what do you mean "loose root"? What method did you root with? I hope it was for the i9505G......

When I checked my phone now, looks like I have M919 Galaxy S4
Not sure, than maybe I've installed the wrong firmware?
Loosing root, meaning that I root the phone, than when I check it after a while is not rooted anymore.

What you need to do is MAKE SURE you have the M919.
If indeed you do follow the guide from that you posted.
MAKE SURE CF-Auto Root is for the M919.......

I was thinking to go with the other one ))
I fallowed the guide there and installed M919UVUFNH7_M919TMBFNH7_M919UVUFNH7_HOME.tar.md5
Now on start, was thinking to let the phone sit a little bit, but I am getting " Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped" multiple times. Like a lot of times and I keep on hitting ok.
Any idea why? Is that ok?
Should I just move on np?

Go into recovery and select factory reset. Reboot.

unroot 110% ??/

I had my Verizon S8+ rooted and for work I need to remove root so I can use some email app and messaging app which im sure are secure and cant work with root. I have odin back to BQL1 then went to Oreo ... it still detects root and I don't know how or why .... do I need the PIT file along with the BQL1 to ensure removing root all the way??? anyone have any ideas or help

Look in the S8 plus forum for ROMs for the Partcyborg ROM. You should be able to flash that because it is a bootloader version 2 ROM.

From what i understand to get back to stock we have to do a full wipe factory reset. Then use the right firmware and do odin flash(not princecomsey version).

I did the odin with both version and I couldn't install the blackberry connect for work. I was told those apps are like military grade sh!t and once your rooted this device will always detect root no matter what you stock flash
