Then use kies to grab the latest update.
I tried but the update doesnt pop up on kies.. yet it recognizes my device
Ok Kies finally told me that my device is not supported.. wtf? I take it that my phone is still rooted in some sort of way?

Do you know how to boot into recovery? If your on stock recovery and whoever unrooted your phone did not wipe data and cache it could give you issues.

are you rooted? because if you are, that shouldnt have happened. you cannot get OTA's when you are rooted. unless its to their voicemail application but not to their roms.

Are you using stock recovery for flashing? If I recall with s-off you needed to use a stock recovery to install any sprint updates?

by unrooting
u can go ahead and download the ota. itll either download to /cache or to /sdcard/downloads. if u down load it just dont apply it. once u have it downloaded just delete it from the directory it was in.
If you guys are trying to do an OTA update and it actually lets you, then you will lose ROOT, just so ya know....
You can download it without installing it.
Can someone post the update package to see what files changed?
Just wondering how i can do this?
Im having over heating problems while video calling(the phone gets so hot it shuts down) and I need to take it back for exchange. If they see super user im dead in the water.

Just delete the super user app. There should be an unroot option in there somewhere. You shouldn't need to worry about the recovery. But I believe there is a stock recovery in the non carrier branded forum

You could download this rom and once it's done downloading open the .zip up and delete Superuser.apk from either /system/app or Data/app. Then when you boot up it should look normal enough. After that you could just flash a stock recovery
IMO that's your best option since I haven't seen a ruu yet.

Please Help me Dudes
Yo
I have a quick question for the administrators. I was on Cyanogenmod with TWRP Recovery on my Htc one M8, i did everything stock (installed 2.22.401.4 odexx stock rom, with stock recovery, relocked the bootloader and turner S-ON) Now i have OTA update and when i click install now it shows red triangle and the update fails. When i go into recovery it shows something like 2.22.401.4 "something is wrong or missing something-i dont like to go into recovery to see again but i think you know this issue ) Can you please tell me what to do guys i dont want to sell my htc m8 and i want to get the OTA's in the future without any problem. Btw my phone is bought from T-Mobile Macedonia, where i wondered is this t-mobile RUU for all countries T-Mobile devices or just US?
I will be very grateful for your answers dudes.
Thank you in advance.

Root it man, there is nothing to fear. If you doing it exactly how it writen in instructions, there is nothing to worry about. just don`t plug off your phone and let it complete. It`s last ~ 10 sec,and you`ll be good
I don`t think something whould happen, since a lot of us done it and we are happy rooted users

This isnt going very well with me..I just tried flashing philz touch and it said reset instead of pass? nothing happened to my phone (can still open my phone and all) but i panicked when i saw that message.. any idea?
Stock ROM flashes stock recovery on boot, that's why Philz doesn't stick.

You used Autoroot,or what?
Odin sometimes stucks on RESET,it`s not telling you that something went wrong. Start worry if you see FAIL
Did you tryed to enter recovery?

No man, you lose it when you flash official samsung rom, then your device will be able to get OTA updates from samsung. So called " Unroot "
Great to hear that all passed smoothly to you! :good:
Hey guys so i rooted my G3 using purple drake a while back and i remember not being able to create a back up it just stays in TWRP recovery forever. I was wondering if somone could point me in the right direction here because im a little skeptical about trying to flash a rom and my recovery not working.
I am still on D85110c so im thinking that maybe when i rooted it TWRP wasnt fully supported?
Thanks guys
No problem with twrp and 10c. Do you follow purple Drake steps correctly?

Make sure you're on the newest version of TWRP... if not, update to the newest and try again, may help.

I usually use TWRP Manager from the play store.
anyone else get the prompt to update the software? are you going to update?
Got it and did it 2 days ago
Same and same
probably too early to know, does anyone know if this update will affect root? coming from htc, i remember updates were frowned upon as they can make rooting more difficult.

below is the link I used. The battery drain is bad but manageable. I think it puts the wrong recovery on the phone, but it does root the phone. I was able to use titanium again :highfive:
