ROMs - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hey guys,
So i got my tablet rooted and now i want to see if i can flash some ROMs. I am really interested in CleanRom but is it available for MK1? I installed GooManager and TWRP and i can't get into Backup and Recovery to flash anything. It keeps rebooting into Android recovery. What am i doing wrong?
Thank you for your response.

When your device is off press volume up and the power button. When you see the "Galaxy Note 10.1 2014" release the power button but keep pressing the volue up button. that is how it works for me

Yea that's exactly what I am doing but it keeps going to android recovery. I got it rooted and installed tarp and goomanager. Anything else I need to install?

Have you installed the recovery via odin?
I've followed this thread and everything is running fine.

All you`ve got to do is untick "auto reboot " within odin before flashing custom recovery, flash then reboot manually.

thanks guys, that did the trick. Not understanding the process completely i did it through GooManager and thought it installed it.
I have gone and flashed it with Odin and restarted, works great, i appreciate the help.

Odin Recovery want back to Stock Recovery, any help?

Hi Guys!
I think I need your help. In the past I´ve flashed the stock rom via odin to my galaxy nexus. Now I want to back to Stock Recovery. Bootloader looks ok, but if I connect my Galaxy Nexus i won´t get a connection by "fastboot devices", I tried to install the driver but it will not be recognized. I´ve seen if I start my phone with into recovery that it will be in Odin Mode?! I want to go back to stock recovery, does anybody know if I can go back probably without loosing any data?
thanks for your great help!

OK I've solved one issue that the Gnex would be recognized by fast boot, was an issue with windows 8. But the second thing doesn't work. I tried to flash the recovery through stock but it is still the same with Odin. I tried "fastboot erase recovery and reflash it but still the same....

If you can boot into Android then you can dd the recovery partition. That's how twrp flashes recovery I think.
Assuming of course you are still rooted

Just use 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' with 'recovery.img' being the stock recovery

[Q] Help! hox keeps getting stuck on reset loops

i have had my hox for about a year and have used a few custom roms
my most recent was sentinel 4.75 with the kernel in the zip file
i tried to install probam 4.4.9 last week and it didnt work
reinstalled from a nandroid now and wifi doesnt work and it takes a while to find network
then it started reset loops
if i boot into fastboot and power down then leave off for 10 mins or so it would turn on fine
now i cant even get it out of the loop
i cant install any other rom (they all get stuck at logo on first boot) and the only nandroid that works is the last one ive done
have I "bricked" my phone?
or is there some corrupt file on my phone that I need to fix?
is there any fix?
Are you flashing the roms boot.img and clearing cache in fastboot?

yes
update
i have gotten out of the reset loop by going into recovery and loading that last nandroid with above mentioned limitations
i still cant manage to install a new rom
I am sure this cycle will continue repeating itself, the rom deteriorating slowly and having to restore from nandroid
what else can i do?
Flash another recovery and try again

I have tried install another rom and no success
I was able to load an old nandroid but it would not connect to mobile network
I have restored to latest backup and am now getting occasional resets but it boots up after about 2 or 3 resets
Will try install sentinel 4.75 see how that goes
Looks likes its fixed!!!
I flashed philz recovery and tried some restores with no success
I was going to reinstall sentinel 4.75, rebooted in fastboot and loaded boot.img
when i went into recovery I realized I had forgotten to put the rom on my internal memory
I tried mount from recovery and it didnt work so I restarted to mount the device and copy rom onto the internal memory
It booted up and WIFI IS WORKING!!!
Looks like it is fixed and the only issue was a corrupt boot image?
Will try load another rom shortly and see if its all fixed
In philz recovery you need to wait for ums ...it needs time to mount...but its working normally and yea after or before flashing Rom you always need to flash in fastboot the boot.img

No, flashing another rom failed.
Good thing I know how to fix it now but still cant install new rom
Help please

[Q] Can't boot into recovery

I have a challenge with my p600, I rooted my tab and downloaded twrp but I can't get into recovery. When I try it goes into a bootloop then I have to use Odin to get out of the loop. I haven't seen anyone else with this problem. Anyone got any ideas?
Dont press the power button too long if you want to boot into the recovery.
Release your finger from the power button when the screen goes on. Just a guess.
If that doesnt help... have you tried to flash the recovery again?

[Q] Possibly bricked phone

Hi there fellow xda users!
Today my father decided it was finally the time to root and change his rom on his ascend p6 after seeing how flawless my note 3 with a custom rom runs.
So, the problem is the following: after he had rooted his phone with kingo root (if I recall) he tried to install cwm recovery using the app on the market. During the instalation, it stucked and went into a boot loop. I tried to put in download mode tho I am not sure if it has download mode and I've searched on the internet for it and didn't find anything. I have to mention the fact that I can get it into stock recovery but from that point I can not do anything. It will show "FAIL" as soon as the recovery starts.
Any way to fix this problem?
A fast response will be much appreciated, thanks for the assistance

Have you tried flashing new firmware?
If not:
Download an official firmware of choice(B125, B132 etc.) Put the dload folder in the root of a sdcard then hold power and both vol buttons to force firmware flash.

Thanks a ton for your reply! It actually worked! Yay XD.
Btw: For (most) custom ROMs for the P6, you need to flash TWRP through adb

Probably bricked it

Hi guys,
I think I've just bricked my M8.
So updated to the latest nightly.
Flashed the latest SuperSU, CWM recovery asked if I wanted to fix root so I said yes. (Probably should have said no at this point).
Now I'm stuck in a bootloop of the Cyanogenmod alien head with the white ring flashing behind his head.
I can't force power off with the power button, neither can I get into recovery with the volume down and power button.
ADB can't see the phone either in this state.
Am I screwed?
No. you did not read that the recovery s like twrp do Not have to fix root Cause of the new root method.. but why you flash supersu over cyanogenmod?

Vol+ and power... not vol- :highfive:
I think you have to install cm again and do a reboot without the su fix in Recovery. you have to hold Power and volume up for 10sec to hardreboot..
and wenn it reboots Volumen down to get in bootloader

Agreed. CM is already rooted. Trying to flash SuperSU just causes problems.
Some folks don't realize CM is pre-rooted, as its a bit hidden. You have to go to Settings>About, then press the build number 7 times to get the Developer Options menu to show. Then toggle root in the Dev Options.
Thank you all!!! If only I'd tried vol + and the power button! Jeeeeze!
And I did enable root in developer options, however Titanium Backup failed to get root.
