PLEASE HELP
why do you need a goldcard...what you made for...you wanna flashing a stock RUU..?, but you said you wanna installing CM...so you don't needed to return your phone to the stock state...and as your phone is already had S-OFF (Security OFF) flag of bootloader..you just need replaced or updating your bootloader with the latest once..
if you wanna tried it...because your bootloader is already had s-off..so you can tried flashing this stock RUU that are already rooted and modified by phiber2000 and already had a latest eng s-off hboot version..and after that..if your phone don't have custom recovery yet..you can continued installing a custom recovery (like 4ext, twrp or cwm)..then after that you can installing custom rom that you want..
to flashing that rooted RUU...after you download it..just extracted that zip file...then copied the PD98IMG.zip file to the root of your sdcard (root sdcard is mean don't placed it in any folder on your sdcard..just outside them), then booting your dhd to bootloader..then let bootloader check and confirm you to updating it...just confirm yes with vol up..then wait until done..ask you to reboot your phone..
hope this help..and good luck..

You are S-OFF you should be able to flash anything you like. Do not paste your IMEI in here...not necessary and dangerous. Just flash a custom recovery and then CM you are done.
what about bootloader?

can you more cleared explained... what do you want to do exactly with your phone and what do you want to do with adb...?,
if you wanna installing custom recovery and installing custom rom..you don't need adb..
you just need fastboot for doing all of that..

you just need upgrade your firmware that like what i've told you before...then after that you can continued installing custom recovery (recovery.img from flastboot), then after that you can installing custom rom that you want from custom recovery that you already installed...

to debrand it your phone..you can using AAHK2 script from here.. (don't know this support for 4g or not...for further information, just asking it in there thread)
but what i know because your phone is already s-off..but still can't installing custom recovery (weird)...then to using AAHK2 script you must return your phone to the stock first..
not sure about this..but maybe you can try it to writing your mid and cid first..
"fastboot oem writemid PD9810000" after that reboot to bootloader again and..
and write with super cid.. "fastboot oem writecid 11111111"
after that if success..you can continued flashing PD98IMG.zip from stock rom that are already rooted by phiber2000 that i give it to you before..

Hi,
I need your kind advice in fixing my issue. I have DHD Vodafone 3.13.161.3 GB 2.3.5.
I unlocked the phone using HTC official method, phone got restored to factory default and I tried to flash a custom rom without knowing that I need to change the CID.
The phone starts but get stuck on HTC logo, I have EXT4 recovery installed already.
Tried wiping and factory reset but it seems that its of no use. I can boot to hboot, it says unlocked (highlighted) and s-on.
I did try to make a goldcard, put the sdcard in another phone and used the goldcard helper app then went to the site and submitted the CID and downloaded the image and followed the steps.
(got mmc0 and mmc1, I took mmc1 by manually writting it)
I copied another official rom PD98IMG.ZIP downloaded from the net for WWE and ARA versions copied them to SDcard and got into hboot but after loading it says wrong image and goes back to hboot.
I deseparate to get it fixed, would you plz provide some guidance on how to fix it since I was not able to get Vodafone RUU or any other mechanism to fix!
Appreciate your assistance and efforts..

If you unlocked from HTCdev you have to flash kernel in fast boot rename boot.IMG to pd98img.zip and accept update. Then remove or rename to pd98img.zip.bak so it doesn't keep updating. It's because of s-on you should be able to downgrade hboot and s-off.

Thanks for your response Sammael,
Just some background info about my case:
I have DHD from Vodafone UK which was on the latest rom from Vodafone 2.3.5, I did bootloader unlock using HTCDev then flashed Ext4 recovery.
I tried flashing a custom rooted rom based on WWE version using the recovery mode (install zip from sdcard) after which I got the phone stuck on HTC logo screen everytime I try to power it on.
I tried using WWE RUUs with fastboot usb but got err155, I downloaded Vodafone PD98IMG.zip from that was uploaded by a guy in another forum but copying it to the sdcard and loading it using hboot gave me wrong image/rom message. I tried running WWE RUU then copying the PD98IMG.zip to the temp folder and renaming it to rom.zip after deleting the original rom.zip but again I got err155.
I need at least to get back on Vodafone stock rom and fix the problem, I am not sure if I need to relock the bootloader and if I must flash back the stock recovery.
Can anyone help with this as I have been trying different options for the last 4 days and all the tools that were mentioned need to have a functional phone to do usb debugging and charge only mode!

First will cover the obvious you should have unlocked via HTC dev. The hack kit is the way to go about things
Now for the fix.
Download a custom rom on PC, have androidsdk setup
Boot into recovery and reinstall your custom from.(remember to full wipe).
Once complete plug phone into PC and run adb reboot bootloader.
Once in boot loader select fast boot if its not already selected.(should read fast boot USB)
Now in the custom rom you download open it and take out the boot.img and put it wherever you have adb/fast boot folders
Then type the command
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot reboot
You will have to do this every time you flash a new rom, since you HTC dev unlocked. I would search into relocking boot loader and using the hack kit

Hi marsdta,
I sort of worried about doing what you suggested as my device still show the CID as VODAP001. Its on Ship S-On and the problem I got into was by flashing a custom rom through CWM.
Just to provide more info, I got the below details by running fastboot command getvar all. I also tried to run a WWE RUU with the goldcard plugged into my DHD but got this error message version-main failed status malformed 1 bytes!!

I had some progress, relocked the bootloader and copied the PD98IMG.ZIP to sdcard. The phone starts loading the PD98IMG and then running the check, it fails on some point which I think might be the PD98IMG I got is older than the software raido/hboot installed on my phone. Below are the details.
Checking PD98IMG.zip
Main version older!
update failed
Press <Power> to reboot
The PD98IMG.zip has an android-info.txt that contains the following:

I think I may need the latest PD98IMG.zip to reflash the phone back to Vodafone stock software, plz correct me if I am wrong?
The PD98IMG.zip which was provided a vodafone uk phone owner seems to check the version of my phone's current state hboot/radio.
Is there any place where I can get the latest PD98IMG.zip even if I have to pay for it?

I haven't been able to find the newest ruu for your branded device. Best I can say is keep looking. But if you can't find it your going to have to flash a from how I suggested to get a working phone.
Or maybe wait and see if anyone has other ideas to try

Did you try getting S-OFF via the Advanced Ace Hack Kit? I got a Vodafone DHD on release in Aus and was prompted to make a gold card, eventually managed S-OFF without one.
You get the main version older because your son. And you get the failed remote because your relocked the bootloader. Personally at this point I would unlock the boat loader again, flash cwr then a from and then its boot.img to get a working phone. Then if the pd98img/ruu that you need comes available go back and root properly. But for now I would say to at least get it in a useable state

Depends on what rom you want to install.
So let's say you want to flash cm. Download the rom on your pc. Place a copy of it on your SD card as well. Boot into cwr and flash as usual. Once complete boot into the boot loader.(using adb reboot boatlader is convenient, but you could do it manually by pulley battery and powering up with volume down+power button)
Then take out the boot.img of cm zip and flash as you tried earlier(fastboot flash boot boot.img)
Then reboot phone

Hi.
I have the same problem as described here. But my desire HD is the spanish vodafone version.
I found the original RUU here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7S5vzd6Qvh9SDR4cmRwTGZWaXc/edit?usp=sharing
- I will start renaming the file to PD98IMG.zip in the SD card
- Start in bootloader mode
- Push vol+ to start the flashing
Humano, did it work?
Sent from my ATRIX HD
I hope that this post is in the correct forum section - apologies if not and apologies if there is already a thread on this subject (I did try searching but nothing that provided a link to a RUU).
Here's what I've done:
Flashed a custom ROM to my UK O2 HTC One X
Then tried to restore it to stock without taking a Clockwork recovery backup (deleted all caches and storage in the process)
Tried to flash with stock RUU found online (1.26.206.2) but RUU software throws an error as the exisiting f/w is 1.29.206.11 and this is what it is expecting
I can access the HOX through fastboot to lock and unlock the device but I cannot see the "SD card" to copy over a custom ROM to at least get some life into the thing (it just sits at the white HTC loading screen until the battery dies).
Ideally I want to return the thing to stock (if anyone has a O2 UK 1.29.206.11 RUU) but failing that is there anyway to get a custom ROM on there (for installation with CWM) without my PC (Windows 7 or Mac available) seeing the HOX storage?
Thanks for reading and any help you can pass on.

EDIT: I think you will not find this RUU surch here in xda for nandroid backup for 1.29.206.11 and restor it and dont forget to restor the stock recovery too.

I've got the RUU you suggested from HERE
Now to apply this RUU all I need to do is run the file (exe) and follow the bouncing ball?
Then once flashed (back to stock), to install a custom recovery (so I can do a nandroid) is unlock the bootloader, install the recovery, and take the nandroid backup. To get the OTA Update(s), I'll need to relock the bootloader, do the automated system updater, redo nandroid, then onto a custom recovery once HBOOT has been updated via the OTA process?
EDIT: Take a nandroid backup first of course

NO You can't receive the OTA via custom recovery you need ctock recovery and stock rom unrooted
1) Lock your bootloader
2) Run the RUU
3) Apllay all update to 4.x.206.x 4.2.2 JB
4) Unlock your Bootloader
5) Install Philz custom recovery
6) Do a Nandroid Backup on 4.2.2.JB . Save on secure plase it is better to have 2 copies on nandroid on different place
7) If you wont Install custom rom or root the stock it is your decision and don't forget to flash the boot.img if you install custom rom

You're S-On, bootloader locked, and rooted? Unlock your bootloader and fastboot flash a recovery. Root alone won't let you flash ROMs.

Google for clockworkmod. It should be the top result. Find the one for DHD. My finding it for you will take as much effort as your finding it yourself. This is a forum where you are expected to search and read for yourself; no one will hold your hand.
hi bananagranola ive done all that when i install roms it just keeps going back to htc white logo screen i installed this recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.2-ace-modaco-r2.img and then a rom

thank you mate you are diamond
If it helps boot into hboot then fastboot
Make sure you have the drivers installed
Connect phone and make sure it says fastboot usb
from the directory that contains adb, fastboot etc copy the recovery.img to it and run a cmd prompt
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
Reboot phone into recovery and you should have cwm or 4ext whatever recovery.img you used.
If you are s-on and want to use custom roms you'll have to unlock boot with htdev and manually fastboot flash the roms boot.img after installing the rom with the recovery you're using.

Hello XDA,
I have here a HTC Desire HD and it's Vodafone Branded, but that doesn't need to be a problem.
I want to make an Goldcard so I can flash Stock rom, because it's soft-bricked by trying to make a goldcard and trying tools that doesn't work.
I know the tools from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169515 but they are forwarding me to http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard to request an goldcard image file, but that site is down.
I got the tool from Revskills but I don't understand it to make an goldcard.
I have also done this earlier by an other Desire HD and that one runs custom rom now and works well and I want to do this also to my current HTC Desire HD.
Now the only problem is, the HTC Desire HD is not booting to OS, it restarts over and over and I can only enter Recovery and Fastboot(also bootloader ofc.)
How can I get this done ?

You phone can not be stuck in a bootloop for trying to create a goldcard, which is done in in the sdcard and not in the device itself. Besides, the tools provides you another tool to create a goldcard, quoting:
...IF YOUR BUILD VERSION IS NOT SUPPORTED TO UPDATE THEN:
Create a goldcard using this tool: http://d-h.st/VMw, once you have the .img file patch it using the SimpleGoldCard Tool included in the tools folder. (you need a working phone for this)
Find a RUU which main version is supported and higher than yours and flash it in the PD98IMG.zip way, that is what is the goldcard for. If you have a .exe RUU, then extract the rom.zip file using this method: http://www.xda-developers.com/xda-tv...-an-ruu-xdatv/
Re run the tool and you will be able to update the hboot and unlock it...

What did you flash to get your device in that state? To create a goldcard you will need a working phone, so you can use the other DHD to do it.

I tried to use AAHK for HTC Desire HD, but the website of the developer of it, is offline.
Now the phone starts, after HTC splashscreen, I see Vodafone Splash Screen and after that It keeps rebooting from HTC splashscreen.
How can I solve this ? Factory reset and format data/factory reset @ recovery doesn't solve the issue.

Of they did not...in fact they made things worse as you deleted the usb debugging drivers from the phone. Hack Kit hasn't been online for about 6 months now and so is support.
Your only way to get out of that is to flash a RUU.

I would hide the IMEI if i was you.
Use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288012 which is from glevitan to make a goldcard then once you have done that download the right RUU run the .exe and in %temp% look for rom.zip
once you have done this place rom.zip in the same folder as fastboot and adb then open command prompt and cd into the directory that fastboot and adb is in.
Then type the following with the goldcard in the phone.
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip rom.zip
fastboot flash zip rom.zip (Just to make sure)
fastboot reboot
This should then fix your phone.
Thank you very much for your tip en help. Didn't notice about the IMEI I would try your advice tonight when I'm home and will keep you updated.

I am not sure that flashing that way will fix the device as the goldcard is in the sdcard and not the device. To locate the goldcard in the device he would need to have temp root access.
He needs to flash the ruu in the PD98IMG.zip way from the root of the sdcard.
Goldcard works both ways also if he is S-ON which he is he can't use the PD98IMG.zip way on the fastboot oem rebootRUU way to flash

right that means the goldcard was not made successfull

I can't make a goldcard because the phone isn't booting, it has a bootloop. Could you please provide me support by Google Talk(Hangout) or something else what would be faster and easier to communicate ?
I won't share your private account details like your username, but It would be easier for me and you to talk to each other.
If you could wait till tomorrow i can get you the HTC Dev bootloader in a oem rebootRUU .zip and give you instructions on how to restore the phone fully with S-Off as well.

Hi !
I have a problem with my HTC DHD device. I unlocked it and rooted it a long time ago, using goldcard, installed Rom Manager, flashed the recovery, install CM...and all of a sudden, my phone shutted down, and couldn't stop rebooting, got the green HTC logo, and he reboot.
I had this problem a few month ago, i tried several things, that put my phone back in S-ON.
I actually got this :

I can't access to recovery, and i can't boot on anything else than the HBOOT or FASTBOOT mode.
I tried to unlock from htc dev, but it says that i need to upgrade my HBOOT before using htcdev tool.
As i was back in S-ON mode, i tried severals RUU Roms.

( Got a french HTC DESIRE HD )
I'd like to flash a new recovery to make everything ok again. But i'm stuck, there is no ruu working, and i can't unlock bootloader, nor reinstall a recovery
everytime i try to flash something into any directory, i got this signature failed error.

I tried different RUU versions, all above the actual one or at least the same version.
The thing is that i can't actually put it back on its original configuration. CID is normal though, i can't find the original recovery, i'd like to flash it, i think it's the only thing that remains modified on the phone.
I had the exact same problem as you have when i bought the phone. AAHK was working back then and even with aahk the phone could not be fixed and the with the help of the devs on irc chat i managed to fix it
They told me that my phone was previously rooted and s-off but a strange RUU was flashed so they told me to flash cwm through fasboot and flash a custom rom.
Wich i did and it worked.
P.S. you might wanna try another sd card, this one might be fried ( faulty mem blocks)

Thanks for your answer, your previous problem exactly matches with mine. I'll try what you've said, the thing is that i'm actually not rooted, and S-ON, i can't use htcdev/unlockbootloader, because de version of my bootloader is too old ( i haven't used the phone for a while ) -
In fact :
- To solve my problem, like u said i have to flash CWM and a custom rom
- To flash a recovery, i need to unlock bootloader
- To unlock bootloader, i need to upgrade my bootloader
- To flash a ruu and upgrade my bootloader i need to have an original recovery
- Got a recovery problem i need another one, so let's flash CWM ( repeat everything )
