So.. I'm using CM7 at the moment, and I have changed my build.prop from LT15i to LT18i.
STILL it says 'LT15i' on PC Companion when I connect the phone to my computer.
Anyone know how to change this?
Its just a silly thing, but it annoys me quite a bit.
Did you change every occurrence of LT15i to LT18i ?
Yes. Replaced ~8 LT15i's. The marketplace and all the apps knows I'm using a LT18i, its just the PC Companion that still sees it as a LT15i.
Maybe you've to uninstall the PCC on your computer.
Then activate Install PC Companion in Settings - Sony Ericsson - Connectivity settings.
After that connect your phone with your PC and install PCC again with the upcoming prompt.

How to fix?
I installed drivers using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044804
Did You selected to install fastboot, flashmode and Xperia Arc drivers in "Flashtool Drivers Setup"? (C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe)
Maybe bad USB cable?

Na, there are no "Xperia Arc S-Driver", only Xperia Arc

I got the drivers installed, but when i connect my Arc S to my computer, the computer doesnt see it. Fastboot or flashmode or normal mode, my computer does not noticed the phone. Thats strange....
Install drivers from "C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe"
Select "Sony Ericsson Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia PLAY, Xperia acro IS11S, Xperia acro SO-02C driver"
"Flashmode Drivers"
"Fastboot Drivers"
Have problem to flash lacking of "loader_unlocked.sin"
Go to "C:\Flashtool\devices\R800" copy "loader_unlocked.sin" to your model folder fot example: "C:\Flashtool\devices\LT15"
~~!!!~~
Before flashing, never turn on your phone, and connect to your PC.
Until the sign call you to connect it
Hope this can help you

Go to ''device manager'' in your computer; see if your device drivers are normal; even if it is, I would recommend a complete reinstall of all drivers and programs xperia related. Tell me, are you using Windows 8? If yes, you should now that Windows 8 doesn't install drivers correctly, at least flashtool drivers.
Please need help with XA1_G3121 flashing
It always display device connected in flashmode but driver is too old when flashing...
XA1 drivers are not included in Flashtool drivers so i downloaded its drivers from sony site and installed it via device manager....
I can't flash it with pc companion since BL is unlocked...
Firmware:G3121_48.1.A.2.112 (latest firmware)
Both 0.9.25.0 and 0.9.26.0 flashtool versions display "device connected in flashmode but driver is too old"
The older versions of flashtool gives: "root:this bundle is not valid and cannot open bundle"
Tried n Googled for solutions but all went awry...
Your help is much appreciated...
Thank You..

Have you tried Sony Xperia Flashtool Emma?
It can be found here https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/flash-tool/download-flash-tool/.
Sent from my Sony Xperia XA2 using XDA Labs
Finally I was able to bypass "device connected in flash mode but driver is too old" error and flashed successfully by continually deleting somc device in device management while phone is connected in flash mode until somc device stops appearing in device management but rather, unknown device under "other device"...
