I managed to install flashtool drivers on w8 64bit, but my pc does not recognize the arc s in fastboot mode. See attatchments
How to fix?
I installed drivers using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044804
Did You selected to install fastboot, flashmode and Xperia Arc drivers in "Flashtool Drivers Setup"? (C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe)
Maybe bad USB cable?
Maybe bad USB cable?
Yes, you have to install the driver first as @duona said

I have the android sdk installed and fastboot drivers, but in cwm I still have the small little yellow warning sign in my computer management window. Is there a set of development drivers I forgot to install on my pc? Or rather are they with the cwm sources?
Have you installed Sony Ericsson PC suite? There are no dedicated drivers required for recovery. Just the standard USB drivers.

No just the drivers for normal USB, drivers from google's development for adb and fast boot.

If you download FlashTool and install it, in the drivers folder it has compilation of all drivers necessary.
Also for the correct fastboot google usb driver, you also have to overwrite the inf file from here: http://dl-developer.sonyericsson.com/customROM/windows/downloadinf.zip
Also they probably prefer questions to be posted in Q&A section.

Thanks now I just gota fix my pc and find a way to get the drivers for my wifi card to work....
Hi everyonen, i just hard resetted my pc and just installed back flashtool 0.9.5.
I installed the driver that were in its driver folder, i also let pc companion install them but everytime i connect my Arc S (Debug USB ON and MSC), flashtool dosent reconize my Arc cause of the driver, infact if i check the device connected to pc, the arc is shown as without driver. so i tried to manual install them from it and it failed. few months are passed since first time i did it did i forgot something?
Just plug in your arc, go to your Flashtool folder and install them straight from there [With your device connected]
Kudos!
already did, also through pc companion and manual but i continue to get this
15/011/2012 10:11:26 - ERROR - Drivers need to be installed for connected device.
15/011/2012 10:11:26 - ERROR - You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool.
Now when its on it reconize him, but when i turn it into fastboot mode to flash the kernel it gives me the error again
Could someone post the download link for the latest flash tool?

So I'm gonna try and root an LT18i. Do I install the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Xperia neo, Xperia PLAY, .... drivers and Flashmode and Fastboot drivers? Also, I heard that for flash tool to work, PC Companion and other Sony applications shouldn't be present on the PC. Correct?

I answered in an other thread were i solved on my own, the problem was that everyboy (also here) upload the windows 32 bit drivers, and i needed 64 one
I have figured out that the S1 boot download is not essentially the problem it won't download and install because of the SEMC usb. Every time I try to plug the phone in flashmode an error pops up saying SEMC flash device has no drivers or has no devices associated with it. I have tried two different computers could this be because I am on 64bit system?
Had this problem 3 days ago. Go into device manager, uninstall all the drivers for the phone. Restart the pc.plug the phone in, let it install the drivers and u should be good

Na, there are no "Xperia Arc S-Driver", only Xperia Arc
Every time driver installation failed

I got the drivers installed, but when i connect my Arc S to my computer, the computer doesnt see it. Fastboot or flashmode or normal mode, my computer does not noticed the phone. Thats strange....
Install drivers from "C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe"
Select "Sony Ericsson Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia PLAY, Xperia acro IS11S, Xperia acro SO-02C driver"
"Flashmode Drivers"
"Fastboot Drivers"
Have problem to flash lacking of "loader_unlocked.sin"
Go to "C:\Flashtool\devices\R800" copy "loader_unlocked.sin" to your model folder fot example: "C:\Flashtool\devices\LT15"
~~!!!~~
Before flashing, never turn on your phone, and connect to your PC.
Until the sign call you to connect it
Hope this can help you
Hi! I'vs just bought a new computer and I have to migrate from my desktop PC to the new laptop. The problem comes after restart the PC. I've installed the Android SDK, the PCCompanion, the Gordon's Gate drivers and the fastboot drivers from flashtool, as on my desktop computer with the advanced reinstall to avoid the prohibition to install unsigned drivers. The problem comes here because with my PC I could flash kernels at this point, but, in my new laptop appears another unknow device called Sony Fastboot Interface inside Android Device in the Device Manager. Any ideas?
No one?
What happens when you try to install the drivers ?
Is it in any way colides with flashing and so on ?
IF not then don't worry.
When I finish, appears another unknow device (Android Bootloader Interface) and if I try to flash a kernel, the console gives me waiting for device
I recall installing few drivers.
1 Regular usb
2 Fastboot mode drivers
3 Flashtool drivers
Try googling "xperia fastboot drivers" and download any you can find, i remember downloading some from sony's official webiste.
Here:
http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/fastboot-driver/
Connect the device in normal mode and fastboot mode and manually select the path to the drivers.
I ended up doing it in windows safe mode, because my pc kept freezing.
