Read closely, I build for e973/e971 only. I'll adapt faust93 to geeb (e971/e973). You already have kevinjoa doing e975. why are you not giving this a shot?

Excellent work!! Loving this ROM, used it all day... Nice and smooth, got almost 3 hours of screen time.... That was off first boot too expect it'll get a bit better.
Really like carbon kit Kat. I like the way carbon fibers is done with the tabs, and am enjoying the lock screen notification. They've done a great job of putting their touch on kit Kat. And you've done a great job building and sharing.
Thanks a lot. New daily for me

Well, thanks too for the build a ROM thread.
Do try Faust's kernel. Lots of goodies there. I get 4h,4h30 on regular usage. Using sio, intellidemand, lower clocks. Of course, if I game, screen on goes to 2h or so.
Default already has lower clocks.they do help with battery. Cheers.
EDIT :
just running a battery test on this one. I'm on faust93 kernel, doubletap2wake on.
Screen timeout = never
Starting poweramp music player

SIO, 2048 read ahead
Intellidemand 162min 1242 max
I did not play further with governor. To maximise battery life, I might end up going with faux123's settings. I'll update this post with results

Nice! Just realized today that although I thought I remembered doing it I had left NFC on. Which could explain why you're getting almost two hours more screen time.
I'm just running with the packaged kernel, I'm interested to see how tomorrow goes with NFC off now.
Either way still loving it

The Evervolv project consists of people (around the world now) that want to learn how to do things related to the Android Open Source Project. It's not just a fork that has a few features added in and some themes changed, or a project that just wants to see how many devices can be ported. We've all learned something in the process of porting devices, and creating features, and continue to do so.With contributions from other forks like CyanogenMod and CodeAurora we are able to learn from them and continue even with older devices.

Already downloaded. Now I am going to flash it. I hope it has diablo 2.7 included in it. Sadly latest UBER/STABLE kernels doesn't have HYPER governor. That's why i hope diablo 2.7 is included in this ROM. After 1-2 hours I will post my opinion and my expression from this ROM.

I didnt build this one with diablo, EverVolv has its own kernel and its actually pretty good, its version 3.0.101 just like diablo2.7, and its very stable and stupid fast even without HYPER, this ROM stays true to the Vanilla Android Expirience....

Should i download trickster to control my kernel ? Also what governor you would recommend me to use. I prefer smoothness with good battery life. At least 18 hours of battery is a must !
Edit: What about gallery issue? Is it fixed in this rom?

no gallery issues at all, and i always use trickster to control kernel tweaking, its just the better app for it, although this ROM does have the ever-toolbox, in hich u can control every aspect of the rom, right down to the lockscreen and theme.. give it a try and let me know what u think...

hmm soupy, i explored this rom and i must say - it is the smoothest 4.3 rom ! Actually there is gallery issue. My phone rebooted like 3 times when i tried to enter into gallery. But to be honest, this rom must be only a base ROM. It must be modified more and more. It must have change-able tiles, change-able duration on sensor buttons, setting custom button action and so. Thank you but maybe i am going to flash this new AOCP which was posted 2 hours ago or again PA 3,99

I hate reply's like this, honestly, the rom has no gallery issues, as u can see by my attached screenshots taken of my gallery, while in the gallery, second, if u read the thread u would see that it clearly states this is completely pure Vanilla android ROM, not customized the max, and no its not a base ROM, its a fully linaro built vanilla ROM, pure AOSP, it doesnt need to be customized at all, this is exactly what i wanted it to be, go flash PA, by all means if thats ur thing, but please dont tell me what i need to do with the ROMs i build, and put my time into, there are plety of "customized" ROMs to choose from, this is for someone who wants the ultimate in speed and stability....
If you have gallery issues it's going to happen on all of the newer 4.3.1 roms. There are plenty of mentions of this in other threads on xda. Gallery doesn't like older photos and videos. If you back up your photos then delete the folders they were in and put them back. Then clear gallery cache your problems will go away. This is the only solution for having gallery reboot your device.
On a separate note: thank the developer. They spend countless hours making the rom just so. If you don't like it there are plenty of options out there to try. But please don't harass the Dev about adding features unless they ask for input.
Thanks soupy for making yet another awesome rom.

I can tell u honetly, and not just cuz its my build but really, this is one of if not the most stable and fast ROMs i've used in a long time, I'm building with Cl3Keners kernel right now to make it even faster, so check it out, it is pure Vanilla AOSP, no bells and whistles, but super fst, pretty and stable, I'm also going to post a link to the kit-kat launcher, keyboard, Google Now, and Hangouts apps, as there all super sexy in this rom... I'll post screenies

Ok.....dude......I've seen you in a bunch of rom threads saying they have gallery issues. You need to fix it properly, just once. Then as long as you stick to 4.3 you will not see the issue again.
You obviously have missed a step in trying to fix it....so it continues to follow you from rom to rom. There's a few threads about it.....follow the fixes and fix it. You're missing something with all your previous attempts.
And 18 hour battery life doesn't mean anything. Its screen time that makes the difference. 3 hours or more if you're lucky is normal. So if you use your phone a lot....you will never see 18 hours total....ever.

Ok guys, i know there is a thread in general section for official CM11 Nightlies. But i think the thread goes a little under in general section. Such a big project should be in a development section. So i decided to make this thread here for all the cm fans out there.

What to Install:
CyanogenMod has several release types: Stable, M series, and Nightlies.
End users are encouraged to installed either the Stable releases or the M series.
Stable releases are not regularly released and are on a "when it is done" basis. The M series are released roughly monthly and are generally stable enough for a daily driver, particularly for Nexus devices.
Nightly builds are part of our automated build system intended to help developers test their code. At any given time there *will* be bugs in the nightly builds. New code is first submitted for peer review at the CyanogenMod gerrit. Because CyanogenMod supports a wide variety of devices, only so many issues can be efficiently caught in the review stage. Once the code is accepted it is then tested on a wider scale in the nightly builds. Since the nightly builds contain such new code, they are not intended for end users.

Reporting Bugs:
Bugs for M series releases should be reported using the CyanogenMod Jira Tracker
Bugs only found in the nightly builds should not be reported in Jira and can be discussed here. In particular, it would be best to keep mostly bug discussion specific to the Nexus 10 in this thread.

MOD
As a gimmick i attached the "translucent decor" MOD for the last nightly of 12.12. Its based in 4.4.2. These are 2 files, one for the translucent nav-, statusbar and lockscreen, the other to revert to stock. It ony works with latest betas of Apex, and Nova Launcher and the GEL(Google Experience Launcher).
I try to update the MOD much often i can. But dont except it in every nightly.

Gonna try this out. Thanks a lot!
Will also try how it runs with Der Kernel
Added: The link for Translucent navbar gives me a 404 error. Maybe it is only my problem though.
Ok seems some probs with uploading to forum software. I uploaded it to dev-host. Should work now.

I have no problems mate. Downloaded both files from dev-host and flashed to test if something didnt work. But all ok. Did you flash the nightly of 12/08?

This time downloaded successfully too. Just flashed and everything seems to be fine. The standby battery life was good to me during the day (on yesterdays build at least). Will inform you if something goes wrong.
Is there a possbility to make the battery icon as stock icon with percentage?
Never mind figured it out

After 24 hours of usage on latest nightly (48 hours totally) no problem for me so far. Good ROM being my daily driver for timebeing
Trans MOD updated in OP to latest nightly. Its attached, cant upload to dev-host. Btw. "dual panel" is back with latest nightly.:good:
Has anyone else had trouble with the back button not doing anything? It doesn't seem to matter which launcher I'm using. Might just be my setup.
Edit: As soon as I finished writing this post, it started working. Very strange.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
The translucent mod feels like it completely kills stability.
What's the order y'all recommend flashing? These are my orders.
I did:
Rom
Gapps
Mod
Also:
Rom
Mod
Gapps
And:
Rom
Gapps
> Set everything up, everything was working fine
Reboot and installed Mod and ALL Google Play Apps always force close.
Suggestions? Anybody have a favourite 4.4.x Rom they can recommend that will be good for a daily for the next 3-6 months? I use my tablet for work, gotta be stable.
Thanks!
i can't install the latest nightly with Philz CWM. The snapshot version only worked with the philz cwn, but the with the nighlys i always get an error. What's the problem?
Be sure you are on latest PhilZ. It works wihout probs. Ive tested it for a hour ago.
I attched the new "Trans MOD" in OP for latest nightly which based on 4.4.2.

Cool, I'll reflash, nice to see a 4.4.2 update!
I got it to work last night after going back to the nightly that matched the date in the trans mod. Totally my fault, I shouldn't drink and flash xP
HEAR THAT KIDS, DON'T DRINK AND FLASH!
---------- Post added at 05:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:33 PM ----------
Also, is it just me, or is there no gallery or camera?
No its for all. Google removed this with 4.4.2. The gallery is now "Fotos", combi of "G+ Fotos" and the old "Gallery". Maybe the CM team didnt include the gallery too.

F2FS Updates !!
Just to avoid multiple questions on this subject, I'll add f2fs related updates here, tomorrow.
Please point me to stuff outside this thread, as basically this is the only thread that I read everything on.
[*]What is this "f2fs" thingy?
Read more about this awesome file systems here
[*]How to use this f2fs?
Read this and this and this (nice workaround) . If you understand it all, go ahead and have fun.
There's a small guide by @p34rp34r here.
Another awesome guide for f2fs and our device. by @burstlam
Again, if you don't understand what you're doing, DONT DO IT.
[*]How to test f2fs thing?
Read this post
[*]Compatible ROMs?new
@aosp and @bsmitty83 have been using vanir's commotio builds for f2fs test on this thread
There's a SlimKat f2fs unofficial version here
I've managed to get a paranoid f2fs version. See post here
Here's the most beloved Liquidsmooth f2fs version by @Punkiderma
F2FS converted OmniROM by @pianistaPL
Our own @poo706 has ported and improved upon an awesome tool that would convert most ROMs to f2fs compatible ROMs. Jump to it's own thread for more info.
[*]More questions?new
Why not? Jump to the F2Fs Q&A thread by @jhonnyx .
Feel free to read and search thru the thread. Ask questions that you still are unsure of.

Kernel FAQ :
Whythree kernels?
More choice for different users and different user activity.
[*]What's the difference between these three kernels?
DirtyV versions are the ones where your 1080p recording works.
SR versions are the "SuperRAM" versions where a lot of RAM has been reclaimed. You get more RAM, but you need to give up 1080 recording, as a trade-off. If you plan to use this one, make sure you change your camera video recording to 720p instead of 1080p. Latest kernel versions will make this change automatic.
The 3rd one is @bsmitty83 's own build that he's running for his tests. You can use this and feel like a developer.
This one might not have all the governors/freqs/io/settings that you can't live without, so be prepared to be surprised.
[*]What are recommended kernel settings?
Follow @Nephilim 's kernel settings. Here they are
[*]Anyone got any nice init scripts to automate neph's settings?
Yes. @büscher got it all covered for you here Thank him.
[*]Can I use on x ROM?
Sure. If it doesn't work, let people here know. There might be a workaround.
[*]How to submit a bug?
Post a note here with relevant information(what you were doing when x happened, screenshots, how to replicate, logs, etc)
[*]What is this log that people talk about? How to take a useful log?
Read this
or use syslog app from play store.
[*] Does Touchwake/PGM/<your favorite touchmanager> work?
This kernel has an inbuild touchwake. You can set it using a kenel settings application (eg. TricksterMod). Sadly, not any more.
It's also got the required modules to support <your fav tool>. You need to ask the app developer to include support for dirty kernels.
Latest smitty version has touchwake removed, so that PGM developer can update his app to support dirty kernel.
PGM fans, see and thank this post
[*] What is the difference between linaro and sabermod?
The difference is just what toolchain was used to compile them. Linaro is a highly optimized custom built toolchain, and sabermod is based off aosp toolchain but with lots of extra patches for optimization
Presently, @bsmitty83 is using @metalspring 's custom toolchain to compile all dirty versions. And, they come with a ramdisk, specially made for all of us, by @osm0sis
[*] Is Fast Charge broken? I can still access my files with fast charge on!
Nope. It's not broken. With some super voodoo now you can access your files along with fast charging your battery. But, do it only if you are in a hurry. Fast charging might not be good for battery life(citation needed).
[*] My Antutu with <insert kernel name here> is bigger/better/wider/thicker than yours.
Wateva
[*] Can I try this on my favorite 4.2/4.0/2.6/0.1.1 ROM ?
Check this post by @osm0sis on how to accomplish this not-so-difficult task.
[*] When will the next version be released?
Now. Just check the last couple pages, and you'll see @bsmitty83 's got another one for you. :victory:
[*] Latest version does not have my favorite io/gov. Why he no love me no more?
Most likely, smitty forgot to add it in. Just put a comment about the missing item and he'll put it back. In the meantime, try out other io/gov/freq/etc. Maybe you'll find a hidden gem (like @Nephilim found illinois)
[*] I don't like the kernel splash screen (coming soon)
Eyelids are provided for a reason. Close them for a couple seconds after turning on your phone and you'll get rid of the bootsplash
[*] What is this synapse thing that I hear about?
Synapse is a kernel settings tool, that you can use to tweak kernel settings that smart people on this thread talk about. @osm0sis has been instrumental in making this tool work for our beloved kernel. Thank him for this free tool.
And Yea " 720p works on all of the builds. ":highfive::victory::good:

I've been using art with pa modular gapps , works great , but dalvik is also good too . as for settings I'm not much help , I think the only way to find what's best for you is how you use your phone . that said I generally oc CPU to 1.5ghz min screen on to 500mhz , vr , GPU 500ghz , hyper or interactive , or on demand or any variation of them , zram on , fsync off , no cab .
Glad you decided to try vanir , I don't think you'll regret it

I tried vanir with art and dalvik, both. And, I'd say try with dalvik for a week or so. Then try art. They've done such a good job with this ROM that you'll feel it running almost the same on both runtimes.

I do just the opposite. I underclock my cpu to around 230-920. Max screen off of 525 and Min screen on of 350 (default), and still get no lag on vanir.
Basically, my phone stays on a standby for most of the time. So, UC makes sense for me. It's gonna be different for every user, depending on how they actually use their device.

I was trying to flash the latest VANIR and this kernel. I was already using ART and dirty flashed both. I was stuck on the boot animation screen for ~15+ minutes. I then tried to flash a different kernel and it booted up (still using ART)
After everything came up I changed back to Delvik and flashed Dirty_V and everything worked fine.. I try to switch back to ART now and report back..
Thanks
UPDATE:
OK so Delvik->dirty flash Kernel->Switch to ART works.
But ART->dirty flash Kernel doesn't work

I can confirm ART works fine with this kernel The thing making this wierd must be on ROM's side.
ART works fine with this kernel fine on these ROMS:
1.Cyanogen Mod 11 (Sometime BUGGY 1 out of 10)
2.PA beta 2 (Works Good rarely BUGGY 1 out of 1000)
3.Xenon HD (Works Good Lags rarely in transitions)
4.Cyan FOX 2.0.2 (Works Awesome)
4.Vanir AOSP (Works Awesome)
5.Mokee 4.4 (Works Good)
Note: I tried with CLEAN INSTALL ROM + PA GAPPS + Kernel.
This must help you guys

I think geehrc is better, but is only my opinion...
Guys,
I have no time nor HDD space to build 8 roms especially based on 2 kind of sources.. I've used more than 450 gb of my drive for repos and I do not want to double it (and can't). To build bliss I had to remove cm12.1 and pac sources from my pc. If you don't like gproj roms, you don't have to use it. If you want to have geehrc, make it by yourself. We're all trying to fix all bugs on gproj. But I'm tired of it, and pissed of my G so probably I will stop to maintain my roms for this device as soon as will get a new phone in 2 months. Because I've got nothing for doing it, only getting more annoyed and much bigger bills. And less time for playing GTA V.

It really is unfortunate to know that as soon not give support to our device Optimus G dadi11 , for I am thrilled with the compilation of the Blisspop , but on the other hand I understand you because you deserve to get donations for your work that you do for not only you do for yourself if you share your ROMS , really I regret living in a poor developing country and myself to be poor because if I could help financially with your bills I would do it but I can not, but I can tell you THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT WORK DEVELOPED BY IT SO WE CAN GET THESE ROMS of high quality on our phones , DADI11 , I AM Leo Flores Facebook

I test every single rom you updated (my wife said that my optimus will report me to the police because i abuse him quite a lot), but since i became a dad one year ago is my last hobby. Again thanks for all, you'll be always a boss!

Guys,
I have no time nor HDD space to build 8 roms especially based on 2 kind of sources..

Being a SlimRoms fan, I looked everywhere for up to date versions of Slim5 or Slim6, and after I couldn't find any newer Slim ROM for my SGH-M919, I decided to compile one. By God's grace, it worked! I hope that other's can enjoy this ROM too, so I put it here to share it with you!

-Install Gapps. - Optional.
-Wipe Cache and Davlik again! <--VERY IMPORTANT! Or WiFi may not work first boot. Will work thereafter.

Disclaimer: SlimRoms is not responsible for any damages to your device.
In the Rom, I left the original SlimLP boot animation, however, I have made a couple of simpler custom boot animations for SlimRoms, which you can find here if you would like to use one of them instead:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/slimroms/general/homemade-slimroms-boot-animation-t3377271
This SlimLP ROM was built for the JFLTETMO, the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4. However, The updater script has been modified, and it would allow itself to be installed on any of the Galaxy S 4 devices. I have not tried this on any other device, but you are welcome to try it AT YOUR OWN RISK.
A huge thanks to the SlimRoms team!

The futuristic and really cool background images used in this rom were provided by The Quiet Learner, you can visit his website for more information and more really great pictures. https://qlfiles.net/
Security Updates
As of February 2016, the SlimRoms team has stopped updating SlimLP with security updates. I have decided to continue updating SlimLP, but only with Critical security updates from the Android Security Bulletins: https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/index.html. Please note that I am only updating Critical updates, not High, Moderate, or Low security threats. I am doing this by hand and may miss one update. Please be advised that this rom is not as secure as Marshmallow roms that are kept up to date. I am doing my best, but I may also be a little behind the bulletins. Please be patient. I decided Critical updates were better than none, but I can only do Critical updates, as this sometimes takes editing over 800 files per monthly bulletin.
Camera
Every now and then, when I use the built in camera app, it will take 2 or 3 pictures, and then the camera picture button will be grayed out, and you must exit and re-open the camera app to take more pictures. This does not happen with Open Camera app, which is available online or at the play store. Overall the camera seems to be working great, I'm not sure why the built in app sometimes has this issue.
GPS
GPS seems to take an unusually long time to get a fix, even outdoors in the open sky. It does work and stay locked for me, but I thought I would share, in the event others noticed this as well. @redx64 has pointed out that you can speed up the GPS by downloading GPS Status and toolbox and use fastergps to update your GPS config file to your region.
Gapps or no Gapps?
For those who do not wish to install, or who are prohibited from installing Gapps, there are some great alternatives. Aptoide works really well in general, and I did take some time to test it with this ROM. As for my apps, Aptoide had all but 2 of the apps I use available, and many alternative apps as well. If you wish to forgo Gapps, but still want a login, app searching, automatic updating (or not, depending on your settings), user friendly tool, then you might want to give Aptoide a try.
The best way to use layers successfully with this ROM:
After doing some testing of the layers on SlimLP, I learned a few helpful tips.
1. The PlayStore Layer Manager App is too "new" for SlimLP. The 4.+ version available from the PlayStore will not let you undo the layers, and hense you cannot go back to stock. Use this older version (3.5) instead, which allows you to install, apply, delete, and undo changes:
https://www.mediafire.com/download/q94w8j7xuyhpudz
2. The PlayStore layers themes are often incompatible with version 3.5 of the layer manager app. Don't worry though, there are tons to choose from here on XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3011075
This Mega thread has tons of them to choose from. If you want these, only download the ones that are zip files for best compatibility. The zips should show up in your download folder, which you can move anywhere and use from the app.
The app has an option to "delete" layers, which actually means "undo" that layer, not actually delete the zip file.
If you still wish to use the PlayStore app and themes, keep in mind that you cannot "undo" your choice of theme. And sometimes themes have an undesired side effect. Two themes from the PlayStore that I have successfully used were BluSky theme, and Elixium theme, both of which worked well, with the exception of the systems -> battery settings chart looked funny.
If you use the themes, I highly recommend doing a TWRP backup first, to make sure that you can always go back!
Governors:
If you want to save battery life, I recommend that you use the "No-frills CPU Control" app and set your Governor to something like Powersave or SmartMax, and your I/O scheduler to Noop. This may affect performance slightly, but will save on some battery power.
If you want to increase performance, I recommend that you use the "No-frills CPU Control" app and set your Governor to Lionheart, Ondemand, or Performance, and your I/O scheduler to CFQ. This will boost performance slightly, but will have a negative impact on battery power.
Powersaving <----------> Performance:
Powersave, SmartMax, Conservative, Interactive, Lionheart, Ondemand, Performance.
Fast Charge:
To use Fast Charge, you must enable it in the Kernel Adiutor app. If you want to set custom settings, you will need to get another app from the Play Store, such as Device Manager or other apps that allow you to control the fast charge settings. Note that some fast charge settings apps do not change the appropriate values to function. The lockscreen may still say "slow charge" as the rom itself does not natively support fast charge, even though the kernel does.
Also, if you have any questions or comments (even if you didn't like it) about this ROM you are welcome to post them in this thread. SlimRoms is not for everyone, since it is rather "slim". No sense starting a Q&A thread for this ROM when we already have a thread here...
Thanks for your work on this. Really miss having a SlimRom, used to run on my SG4. With all the BT issues plaguing MM ROMS currently, I may give this a whirl.
Thanks for this. . Keeping it in my back pocket

Thanks. I did test the Bluetooth, but I do not use it much. It would be good to know if this Bluetooth is rock solid when it comes to headphones, speakers, and such.

I should think BT is fine, as devs had it working pretty much 100% for the LP ROMS.
MM seems to have changed something that hasn't quite been solved yet.:silly:

If I am not mistaken, that has already been done:

Please let me know if I am wrong, but can't we use this version also?
Be sure to slap their thanks button if you enjoy their ROM!
Edited: I now see that it does not work on the M919. I am currently pursuing SlimRoms 6.0, but perhaps I can look into it. No promises, though.

Its a rough build with little updates
As you know you cannot flash jfltexx versions of the ROM
If you want to you need to flash a xx recovery
Could you add super user to settings
(I feel dirty unicorn covered the most ground with its settings menu
Feels like slim always misses something so I finished testing an went back to a previous ROM

Slim is certainly slim. I do like some of the built in features, like the ability to remap hardware buttons in the settings menu, the built in screenshot tool, slim pie, and the slim recent apps bar when you hold down the home key. So I think that Slim has lots of "subtle" features that most folks are unaware of.
No worries though, thanks for trying the ROM out.
Edit: I finally figured out how to take a screenshot while the slim pie controls were open.

Hey guys, I'm new to the ROM scene, this is my first go. Well, second time trying to flash a rom. Anyway it flashed and booted fine but on first boot its having trouble with all the gapps, I assume I used the wrong version of the gapps zip file. Should I just try different versions one at a time? Could that brick it?
Thanks

First and foremost, thanks for giving SlimLP a try!
Second, as for the Gapps, trying different ones wont brick it, but you will need to do a fresh wipe, install the rom and then gapps, as per the first post instuctions. I recommend that you try this one:

I hope that gets you going, good luck and have fun with SlimLP!

Open gapps is my go to,
Then it's dynamic gapps
But here we have 100s of gapps (well like 5-10 to choose from)
Rome are tricky learn everything you can before the flash (read some issue reports by users and don't forget to post yours (log is best)
I've been around since sidekick 4g /.o I miss the keyboard never had to look at it to type
Loving this rom. Most stable and fast compared to the Dirty unicorn and Pacrom I tried before. If anyone is having problem with GPS , i reccomend the following. Download GPS Status and toolbox and use fastergps to update your gps config file to your region.
Here is a screenshot of the benchmark with this ROM using the linaro 4.7 tool chain. I was hoping to try a few other tool chains to see if it makes a difference. So far the kernel build fails with the linaro 4.9 tool chain.

By the way, you can set the display to 320 DPI to get the most out of your screen, too. It is in the settings menu as LCD density.
