Being a SlimRoms fan, I looked everywhere for up to date versions of Slim5 or Slim6, and after I couldn't find any newer Slim ROM for my SGH-M919, I decided to compile one. By God's grace, it worked! I hope that other's can enjoy this ROM too, so I put it here to share it with you!
**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****

-Reboot into recovery mode - TWRP (I personnally am using 2.8.7.0).
-Backup what you had. (Just to be safe.)
-Wipe.
-Install Rom.
-Wipe Cache and Davlik. <--VERY IMPORTANT!
-Install Gapps. - Optional.
-Wipe Cache and Davlik again! <--VERY IMPORTANT! Or WiFi may not work first boot. Will work thereafter.
-Reboot to system and enjoy!

Disclaimer: SlimRoms is not responsible for any damages to your device.
In the Rom, I left the original SlimLP boot animation, however, I have made a couple of simpler custom boot animations for SlimRoms, which you can find here if you would like to use one of them instead:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/slimroms/general/homemade-slimroms-boot-animation-t3377271
This SlimLP ROM was built for the JFLTETMO, the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4. However, The updater script has been modified, and it would allow itself to be installed on any of the Galaxy S 4 devices. I have not tried this on any other device, but you are welcome to try it AT YOUR OWN RISK.
A huge thanks to the SlimRoms team!

Notes: a place for notes about the ROM.
Background image
The futuristic and really cool background images used in this rom were provided by The Quiet Learner, you can visit his website for more information and more really great pictures. https://qlfiles.net/
Security Updates
As of February 2016, the SlimRoms team has stopped updating SlimLP with security updates. I have decided to continue updating SlimLP, but only with Critical security updates from the Android Security Bulletins: https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/index.html. Please note that I am only updating Critical updates, not High, Moderate, or Low security threats. I am doing this by hand and may miss one update. Please be advised that this rom is not as secure as Marshmallow roms that are kept up to date. I am doing my best, but I may also be a little behind the bulletins. Please be patient. I decided Critical updates were better than none, but I can only do Critical updates, as this sometimes takes editing over 800 files per monthly bulletin.
Camera
Every now and then, when I use the built in camera app, it will take 2 or 3 pictures, and then the camera picture button will be grayed out, and you must exit and re-open the camera app to take more pictures. This does not happen with Open Camera app, which is available online or at the play store. Overall the camera seems to be working great, I'm not sure why the built in app sometimes has this issue.
GPS
GPS seems to take an unusually long time to get a fix, even outdoors in the open sky. It does work and stay locked for me, but I thought I would share, in the event others noticed this as well. @redx64 has pointed out that you can speed up the GPS by downloading GPS Status and toolbox and use fastergps to update your GPS config file to your region.
Gapps or no Gapps?
For those who do not wish to install, or who are prohibited from installing Gapps, there are some great alternatives. Aptoide works really well in general, and I did take some time to test it with this ROM. As for my apps, Aptoide had all but 2 of the apps I use available, and many alternative apps as well. If you wish to forgo Gapps, but still want a login, app searching, automatic updating (or not, depending on your settings), user friendly tool, then you might want to give Aptoide a try.
The best way to use layers successfully with this ROM:
After doing some testing of the layers on SlimLP, I learned a few helpful tips.
1. The PlayStore Layer Manager App is too "new" for SlimLP. The 4.+ version available from the PlayStore will not let you undo the layers, and hense you cannot go back to stock. Use this older version (3.5) instead, which allows you to install, apply, delete, and undo changes:
https://www.mediafire.com/download/q94w8j7xuyhpudz
2. The PlayStore layers themes are often incompatible with version 3.5 of the layer manager app. Don't worry though, there are tons to choose from here on XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3011075
This Mega thread has tons of them to choose from. If you want these, only download the ones that are zip files for best compatibility. The zips should show up in your download folder, which you can move anywhere and use from the app.
The app has an option to "delete" layers, which actually means "undo" that layer, not actually delete the zip file.
If you still wish to use the PlayStore app and themes, keep in mind that you cannot "undo" your choice of theme. And sometimes themes have an undesired side effect. Two themes from the PlayStore that I have successfully used were BluSky theme, and Elixium theme, both of which worked well, with the exception of the systems -> battery settings chart looked funny.
If you use the themes, I highly recommend doing a TWRP backup first, to make sure that you can always go back!
Governors:
If you want to save battery life, I recommend that you use the "No-frills CPU Control" app and set your Governor to something like Powersave or SmartMax, and your I/O scheduler to Noop. This may affect performance slightly, but will save on some battery power.
If you want to increase performance, I recommend that you use the "No-frills CPU Control" app and set your Governor to Lionheart, Ondemand, or Performance, and your I/O scheduler to CFQ. This will boost performance slightly, but will have a negative impact on battery power.
Powersaving <----------> Performance:
Powersave, SmartMax, Conservative, Interactive, Lionheart, Ondemand, Performance.
Fast Charge:
To use Fast Charge, you must enable it in the Kernel Adiutor app. If you want to set custom settings, you will need to get another app from the Play Store, such as Device Manager or other apps that allow you to control the fast charge settings. Note that some fast charge settings apps do not change the appropriate values to function. The lockscreen may still say "slow charge" as the rom itself does not natively support fast charge, even though the kernel does.
Also, if you have any questions or comments (even if you didn't like it) about this ROM you are welcome to post them in this thread. SlimRoms is not for everyone, since it is rather "slim". No sense starting a Q&A thread for this ROM when we already have a thread here...
Thanks for your work on this. Really miss having a SlimRom, used to run on my SG4. With all the BT issues plaguing MM ROMS currently, I may give this a whirl.
Thanks for this. . Keeping it in my back pocket

Thanks. I did test the Bluetooth, but I do not use it much. It would be good to know if this Bluetooth is rock solid when it comes to headphones, speakers, and such.

I should think BT is fine, as devs had it working pretty much 100% for the LP ROMS.
MM seems to have changed something that hasn't quite been solved yet.:silly:

If I am not mistaken, that has already been done:

Please let me know if I am wrong, but can't we use this version also?
Be sure to slap their thanks button if you enjoy their ROM!
Edited: I now see that it does not work on the M919. I am currently pursuing SlimRoms 6.0, but perhaps I can look into it. No promises, though.

Its a rough build with little updates
As you know you cannot flash jfltexx versions of the ROM
If you want to you need to flash a xx recovery
Could you add super user to settings
(I feel dirty unicorn covered the most ground with its settings menu
Feels like slim always misses something so I finished testing an went back to a previous ROM

Slim is certainly slim. I do like some of the built in features, like the ability to remap hardware buttons in the settings menu, the built in screenshot tool, slim pie, and the slim recent apps bar when you hold down the home key. So I think that Slim has lots of "subtle" features that most folks are unaware of.
No worries though, thanks for trying the ROM out.
Edit: I finally figured out how to take a screenshot while the slim pie controls were open.

Hey guys, I'm new to the ROM scene, this is my first go. Well, second time trying to flash a rom. Anyway it flashed and booted fine but on first boot its having trouble with all the gapps, I assume I used the wrong version of the gapps zip file. Should I just try different versions one at a time? Could that brick it?
Thanks

First and foremost, thanks for giving SlimLP a try!
Second, as for the Gapps, trying different ones wont brick it, but you will need to do a fresh wipe, install the rom and then gapps, as per the first post instuctions. I recommend that you try this one:

I hope that gets you going, good luck and have fun with SlimLP!

Open gapps is my go to,
Then it's dynamic gapps
But here we have 100s of gapps (well like 5-10 to choose from)
Rome are tricky learn everything you can before the flash (read some issue reports by users and don't forget to post yours (log is best)
I've been around since sidekick 4g /.o I miss the keyboard never had to look at it to type
Loving this rom. Most stable and fast compared to the Dirty unicorn and Pacrom I tried before. If anyone is having problem with GPS , i reccomend the following. Download GPS Status and toolbox and use fastergps to update your gps config file to your region.
Here is a screenshot of the benchmark with this ROM using the linaro 4.7 tool chain. I was hoping to try a few other tool chains to see if it makes a difference. So far the kernel build fails with the linaro 4.9 tool chain.

By the way, you can set the display to 320 DPI to get the most out of your screen, too. It is in the settings menu as LCD density.

Can we REALLY format the external disk with that rom? I've tried Hi1jason's CM10 v3.0 rom but sim toolkit is not working and has a few bugs. One thing I like with his rom is a longer battery life. More power kababayan!
Hi1jason's CM10 v3.1 is out. Will try it soon.

Well based on search here, Currently, SIM Toolkit will not work on our phone. Maybe on some other countries it'll work. I have used Hi1Jason's kernel for this ROM and I have tweaked it to make it more battery saving. I'll be posting in a while the details of this ROM.

Sorry for the Delay. I have found some minor bugs while on my final test. I have canceled the upload for some changes.
Awesome Beats will be deleted for some conflicts in the ROM. But I'll post the link of it later if you wish to flash it on your phone.
Meanwhile, this will just be a RC1 version.

I would like to apologize for what hapened. It seems that too many members downloaded my OptiBean RC1. But dont worry, the next link that I will be posting is the RC2 Already.
Please Donate Guys if you like my work.
First of all, thank you for your hard work. It's go great to see someone from the same country I live in developing a rom for this phone! (Im not Filipino though).
By the way, the rom is huge in size. (320mb!) Is this because of Gapps included in the rom? AFAIK, it is against Google's policy to include Gapps in a custom rom. You may have to remove the apps from your rom and link a set of gapps from Goo.im or something similar.
I'm downloading the rom now. Will report back after testing it.

Actually those are inverted Gapps that I have included. And in my next release it will be based from the latest cm10-M2 from cyanogen MOD... It will be packed with latest features of cm10.
It's just for testing. Because some of the GAPPS are not compatible with it so I have to select those that works.
Don't worry my Boy, I will seperate it once everything is in order. So for now, it will be included since it is not really released by google itself. It has been modified by some devs here so no worries.

Okay. it was just my 2 cents.
Anyway, I've been running the rom for past 2 days and it looks fine.
Here are just a few things that I want to address...
- Led flashlight toggle cannot be enabled for the notification bar.
- Can notice very minor graphical glitches found in UI animation.
- There seems to be some battery drain. I'm not sure what causes this. (Could be wifi?) It's not just for your rom, but prevails all other roms for this phone. For other devices that I had (see my signature), 1% or less per minute with WIFI on was very normal. but I'm getting at least 3 to 5% per hour now which is not satisfactory at all. Do you have any information on this?

Press thank if you like it.
GUYS,
GOOD NEWS. I'M DONE WITH MY LATEST BUILD OF OPTIBEAN AND ITS BEEN ON BETA-TESTING STAGE AND CURRENTLY RUNNING SMOOTH.
HOPEFULLY I COULD POST IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
JUST DONATE IF YOU WANT TO, BUT IF NOT THEN YOU ARE NOT FORCE. BETTER TO SHUT YOUR MOUTH IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY GOOD THINGS TO SAY.
CHANGES:
Latest JB Build (CM10) 4.1.2
Latest Recovery 6.0.1.5
Latest Hi1Jason 3.1JB Kernel
Latest Apps
Remove/Separated GAPPS
More tweaks and fix
New Boot Animation
Added new apps
Ported SG III Camera

SOON TO BE RELEASED (",)
No harsh feeling here but donation should be pure giving. What you are asking starts to look more like selling as you emphasize the word "donation" in every post you make.
If you really need funds to continue, better monetize your rom. Create some locked features, and make an app that unlocks them and sell it on Play Store.

Welcome to SentinelROM for Nexus 10. Based on CM10.2. Android 4.3
This ROM is based on CyanogenMod 10.2 with all the features you get in a CM10.2 ROM, plus the following features.
Compiled with Linaro toolchain for enhanced performance.
Aroma Installer for additional tweaks and options
Zip Aligned
Compiled from latest CyanogenMod 10.2 source
Improved Web Browsing performance
Improved 3D gaming performance
Improved battery life
Additional theming and UI customisation
FAST support via this page and our Facebook Page
________________________
This ROM has been built to enhance the CyanogenMod 10.2 experience, with faster gaming and web browsing performance (no choppyness in Chrome too!).
Countless hours have been spent making tweaks to settings to squeeze the most performance I can find out of this ROM while still providing excellent battery life and without the dangers of overclocking and kernel level tweaking.
I compile this ROM and Kernel from the latest CyanogenMod source code, add my various tweaks and adjustments, then test for stability, so you get all the benefits of CyanogenMod 10.2, plus my tweaks and extras, all without the instability and inconvenience of flashing CyanogenMod nightlies (which are not designed specifically for the Nexus 10 like my ROM is.
The kernel source is available from the CyanogenMod's GitHub.

None that I am aware of. Please report any issues in this thread or on the Facebook page.
Note: On CM10.1 ROMs, to access the internal SD card on your device via USB on your PC, please go to "Settings" - "About Tablet" and tap on "Build Number" repeatedly to unlock "Developer Options". Now go to "Developer Options" and enable "Android Debugging".

If installing for the first time:
To install this ROM you will need to have an unlocked bootloader and a custom Recovery such as TWRP or ClockWorkMod installed (personally I recommend TWRP, I have had issues with restoring backups using CWM). If you haven't yet unlocked your bootloader and installed a custom recovery, I recommend downloading and installing the Nexus 10 Toolkit.
Copy the downloaded SentinelROM zip to your Internal Storage.
Boot into your custom recovery
Back up your stock ROM
Factory Reset and wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
Wipe System Partition
Install the ROM
Install GAPPS
Reboot. First boot can take up to 5 minutes.
Important: CyanogenMod statics is switched off by default in this ROM. After installation you will be asked if you want to turn it on, please leave it off.
Note: Use of titanium backup to restore apps and data from another ROM is not recommended, and is the source of 90% of user issues, especially when it comes to battery life. Do so at your own risk.
You may flash other kernels as you wish via recovery. Remember to also flash the correct libraries for any 3rd party kernels.Instructions will be given by the Kernel author. NOTE: Updating the ROM via OTA will also overwrite any custom Kernels you have installed.

Thanks very much to all those who have answered my questions through the process of creating my own ROM, you know who you are.
CyanogenMod for their outstanding work. Full credit to them for the bulk of this ROM.
The Linaro team for their amazing toolchain.

Re: [ROM] [28/01/13] - SentinelROM v3.00 - CM10.1 Base - Fast, Stable, Themed
I spent 4 hours yesterday trying to get it working and had to give up for this build. I could do it for AOSP but can't get it to work on CM10 base. Ill keep trying though.

Is there a tabletUI option for this release?
I looked at Tablet UI as an option, but the consensus is that it's depreciated and support will become less and less over time, so I decided to leave it out with this ROM.
Re: [ROM] [28/01/13] - SentinelROM v3.00 - CM10.1 Base - Fast, Stable, Themed
What does he mean by that is he talking about the action bar or the menu button that appears on the right?
Anyhow I had an idea that maybe I could work on some modifications that I would like on this ROM without having to ask you for it, but I am very new at it and all of the guides I have found are either out of date or are poorly written so I didn't understand how to do it. Do you think you could direct me in the right direction to get started? I would really appreciate it, thank you very much.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda app-developers app
Yeah he means moving the navigation bar at the bottom so that the Back, Home and Running buttons are off to the left hand side.
I figured out how to move them and it works perfectly in SentinelROM AOSP, but it seems that CM10.1 is using some weird scaling in the systemUI to fit the large screen of the N10. Even when I modify the XML to adjust the alignment to the far left, it sits about 3 quarters of the way across. From what I can tell, as far as the systemUI knows, this is the edge of the screen and the rest of the area is deadzone. I'll spend some more time later in the week working on it.
Anyone else is always welcome to make mods and tweaks (anything that works with this ROM should also work with other CM10 based ROMS). I welcome and encourage it in the spirit of open source! Hey this whole ROM is pretty much a CyanogenMod Kang.
You just need to package them up as flash-able zips that can be flashed via recovery. If I like them, I'll include them in future builds with your permission
To make mods you will need 7-ZIP, Notepad++ and APKTool. You just need to extract the APK you want to edit using APKTool, then make your modifications using Notepad++, then compile using APKTool and merge your modded resources with the original APK in 7-Zip. Then you just need to push the modified APK to your device (I use Android Commander for that). Compiling into a flash-able zip is a little more tricky but there are plenty of guides around.

Hello,
sorry for newbie questions, but in the thread of Craigacgomez he linked a GAPPS (GoogleAppsPack-4.2.1-JOP40D.zip)
with a filesize of 150MB, when I go to the link from 1.Page:

There is a zip file for "me" (gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip) with only 90 MB
Why is the size so different?
Bye
Robert
p.s.
now I installed your rom with gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip, but I have very few EQS
Can I somewhere set up, what I want to control with EQS?
Re: [ROM] [28/01/13] - SentinelROM v3.00 - CM10.1 Base - Fast, Stable, Themed
Thanks for the nice little simple guide at the hell of a lot easier to understand than all the other ones I found. If I have any problems with making it it flash able, even with looking at the different guides out there. I know I can come to you, thank you. My goal is to incorporate be modifications that allow me to modify the bottom bar, the Quick Settings bar with the message settings app, the notification LEDs, and to be able to make my ROM updatable over the air. I bet this will be a very difficult thing to achieve but nothing easy is worth doing.

Hi mate,
EQS is completely configurable from Settings - System - Quick Settings Panel
I'm not sure why the GAPPS package is smaller, but it's the one CyanogenMod recommend with any CyanogenMod based ROMs and I haven't had any problems. with it.
Re: [ROM] [28/01/13] - SentinelROM v3.00 - CM10.1 Base - Fast, Stable, Themed
I suggest installing Nova launcher it is amazing you can customize so many things that is ridiculous. I installed that one and uninstalled the one that comes with the ROM and I couldn't be happier.

I'm working on this. Again this seems to be a "feature" of CyanogenMod at the moment and has to do with how the screen is scaled on the N10 to fit the larger screen. You'll notice that the icons remain the exact same width when you rotate to portrait. I believe there is some missing code somewhere in the launcher and systemUI which stretches to fit the screen.

Any lag on the home screen and menus when using Nova? I always found it to lag my other devices, but haven't used it much on the N10.

All the code for the bottom bar is in SystemUI.APK, it also ties in with code in Settings.APK which allows you to configure it's buttons.
As for OTA, I don't think you'll be able to do that because you need a server which you can poll and check updates against. At the moment most of the original CyanogenMod code is still there, I've just deleted references in the layout.xml for settings.apk so they do not show up in the menus. I'll have a look at some stage to see if I can modify the code to simply point to my own server, but I doubt it will be that straight forward.
I got an invite yesterday to list my ROM on RomManager, so I'll look into that as an option for now. I don't rank it high on the list of things to do though as it does not affect ROM functionality at all. I'd rather work on improving other things

Reporting Issues:
Do NOT report issues here if you're running a non-stock kernel, Xposed and/or modules, or any other non-stock mods.
For bug reporting (stock Slim ROM/kernel/GApps only), please use the Slim Bugreport tool, accessible through Settings > SlimCenter > Bugreport to produce a zip file in the phone's storage which you then can upload to the SlimROMs Hercules Subforum for review. Please see Reporting Bugs on the Slim web site for more information.
Any issues please explain with specific details, how to reproduce the problem, and provide a Slim Bug Report (preferred, in the ROM), or a logcat. Good feedback is ESSENTIAL.
Installation Notes:
Radios: Make sure you are running a JellyBean radio or newer (T989: UVMC6 | T989D: TLMC4), and follow the installation instructions linked to in post #1. A thread for flashable radios is here.
Recovery: Recommended recovery: CWM or TWRP.
Superuser: The Slim Team has made it so the Superuser App is not enabled by default, requiring users to intentionally turn on Root access. To enable it, navigate to Settings > Developer Options > Root Access and choose Apps and ADB (even though it may appear selected). For this to work, you need to first go to Settings > About Phone and tap on Build Number several times to gain access to the Developer Options.
Also see here: http://slimroms.net/faq/slimbean/441-how-do-i-enable-root
Kernel: The kernel is based on the Moretz CM-11.0 kernel, but overclocking has been disabled to enhance stability. For sweep2wake, fast charge, and CPU freq/governor control features, I'd recommend [ROOT] Kernel Tweaker from the Play store.
Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi connection dropping issues? Check your region code in Settings > Wi-Fi > (menu key) > Advanced > Wi-Fi region code. It may be set to Europe by default, which uses a different set of Wi-Fi channels than the United States or Canada.
DPI: For information on changing the screen DPI, see here: How to change the screen density (DPI). Beware that some apps may not play nice with custom values, although normally the Slim GApps are modified to tell the Play Store and a couple of other apps that the phone's DPI is always 240.
Enjoy!

Initial test build: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23578570567714111
Welcome to the Hercules forum and thanks for bringing this ROM back to us. I will be testing this later this evening after work. Also I will get the word out on G+.
big fan of slim cant wait to see what this brings
Initial Impressions
OK after a few hours of testing, here is what I found:
First of all, the instruction to not change the governor on the stock kernel apparently applies to Wild! V6 as well. After installation, boot was just fine. Thinking I could change the governor because this was a custom kernel, I changed the governor to Intellidemand. No problem then either, but after a reboot the phone boot looped. Re-installing the kernel fixed that, but then it happened again. Also the wi-fi setting was not saving my password either. So after getting the phone to boot up (had to install the kernel once more), I set the governor to Interactive. No more boot loops after three reboots. So that was taken care of.
The other issues I encountered were extremely slow charging (only 1% charge in about a 45 minute time frame) and Google Now FCd every time I tried to open it (even after I wiped data & cache). Upon those problems I had to restore my nandroid for now. I do also want to mention some positives. The ROM really does fly, and with Slim mini gapps over 200mb of free ROM space is available so the ROM lives up to its name of "less is more". Video recording was perfect and without any delay. I have been out of the loop for a bit on changelogs, but for those who don't know the new theme engine is still not included in this ROM as of yet. The real dark Slim does work though.
Bottom line this is not yet ready for a DD IMHO, but with tweaking, could be the fastest ROM we have available. I really was almost willing to deal with the bugs because I was so impressed with the speed. The screen wake lag that plagues all the other ROMs did not happen for me here. Thanks again @NoSpamDan, I'll be happy to try future builds as well.

Thanks, I appreciate the testing and feedback!
Let me first say that details are everything, especially when I don't have a test phone available...
I am looking for bugs that exist in the as-built ROM, and therefore I am unable to provide any support for 3rd party kernels... This could have caused most of the issues you experienced.
Was there a problem with the stock CM-11.0 kernel bundled into the ROM, aside from the known governor switching issue? If so, the built-in Slim Bug Report tool (Settings > SlimCenter > Bugreport) will produce a zip file you can upload here for the time being for review. Please see Reporting Bugs on the Slim web site for more information.
For random reboots (RR's), you can also try using Bootlog Uptime to automatically dump /proc/last_kmsg for you to review/upload.
The Google Now issue shouldn't have anything to do with the ROM itself, that is in GApps. And if you were using the mini-gapps package, did you install Google Search separately? According to the TRDS GApps thread, it's not included in the mini package, and you could have been missing some key library files from the GApps package.
What version of KK4.4 GApps did you install? You said mini, but was it v155, v157, v160?
For now, I would recommend using the beta GApps with Unofficial builds until an Official ROM version is released. Please bear in mind that @dankoman has been producing new beta TRDS GApps versions quite often. His discussion thread is here.
What I really need are bug reports and logs using only the stock Slim ROM/kernel/GApps... Unfortunately, without these, I won't be able to provide effective support to try and make this ROM better, much less try to get the Hercules officially supported on the Slim site.
Thanks again!

Yeah I was afraid you might bring the logs up, and rightfully so. Reason that I did not use the built in kernel is that I have NEVER had good experiences with stock kernels from CM. Plus with the limited governor availability, I was hoping Wild! would eliminate that problem. I was also unaware of Bootlog Uptime or I would have used it to help with this situation.
On Gapps, I used these from the Slim ROMs web site: http://slimroms.net/index.php/downloads/dlsearch/viewdownload/1150-addons4-4/12060-slim-mini-gapps-4-4-4-build-6-112
Google Now wasn't included so I restored it via Titanium Backup. After the FCs, I wiped the data. Still no luck. I tried to uninstall it but when I checked settings/apps, it was still showing as installed. I should have just fresh installed it from Play or better yet, used the Banks Gapps I already had. At any rate, I know I could have fixed that problem if I had tried other things.
Any idea what might have caused the slow charging? I've had that happen on official CM as well.

Yeah, those GApps are pretty outdated, but should still work. TiBu on the other hand, can be pure evil sometimes...

OK. Now (Quicksearchbox.apk) is a System App, so yeah, I can see trouble with it if restored.

Not off-hand. I take it you've tried different chargers/cables...? There's an app on XDA here called Skyrocket Charger Test that, while it's labeled 'Skyrocket', based on what it queries for information, might work on the Herc to check the charging rate and type. I believe it also works on the Note 1 SGH-i717... Worth a shot to test chargers and cables for issues. It's saved me many times.

Well thing is, on other ROMs like PA or Beanstalk 4.4 builds I get about 40% an hour charge. I use two different chargers at home & work, both Samsung with no issues. The slow charging issue is one I've only encountered with official CM (especially 4.4 nightlies), an old Beanstalk 4.3 ROM and unofficial Carbon 4.2 build back from last fall.
On TB it really is both a blessing and a curse sometimes!
Only issue is found is SD card usage. I don't have external SD card btw

Thanks for the report.
I take it you did wipe /data or perform a factory reset upon installation? This will not wipe your internal SD card (music/photos/etc)...
Sometimes just a dalvik and cache wipe from recovery fixes this. A log/bugreport might help. Did you try clicking on that SDCard entry to see what app or process it says is running? Do you have Outlook installed or Exchange mail configured?
And I couldn't help but notice, are you running Juice Defender? FYI many have reported worse battery life on KitKat with that... I purchased the full version myself back when I switched from GB to ICS, but ended up ditching it when JB came along, and never looked back.
Everyone's usage/situation is different...

Yes to wipe everything except internal SD.
I will try a dalvik/cache wipe/battery stats and see if it helps.
Don't have either of those email clients installed.
Clicking on SD card entry in battery just shows cpu uptime for SD Card, not specific process.
I'll remove juice defender after the wipes above work/don't work, don't want too many variables changing while trying to troubleshoot.
LOL, yes, one step at a time is good. else you can end up with no clue at all
Oh, I just saw "battery stats"... and wiping those has no effect in Android 4.4. Google debunked that some time ago. See here. Recharging the device will reset the battery usage stats in Settings > Battery.
I used to wipe the battery stats myself, and I honestly didn't know there were still recoveries that still had that built in (TWRP maybe) since I've been on PhilZ Touch CWM recovery myself for a long time. No Fix Permissions either, wouldn't you know (not a bad thing, actually)...
I sure did like my placebo effect, though. I still miss it, lol.
The Dalvik/cache wipe fixed SD card issue... Thanks
First, thanks for helping us all out and working on bringing us this ROM. Tried it out today and was impressed by how fast it booted and its responsiveness. Flashed through TWRP 2.7.1.0 along with newest beta slim mini gapps. Full wipe/clean install. A few things I noticed:
1) Native superuser doesn't function. Tried going into settings>advanced options>superuser and auto-allowing apps permissions...no go. Unable to create logcat/bugreport for this issue as they both require root. Fixed by flashing Chainfires SuperSU zip through TWRP
2) Battery charge speed seemed normal here
3) I live in US and wifi region code was set to Europe after install.
4) In your OP you mention radios not related to our model. The newest radio for T989 is T989UVMC6
5) Something not specific to your ROM, but with all recent ROMs (CM related?) stock messaging app no longer turns data on to send/receive MMS messages. Again, nothing on your end, just felt the need to bring attention to it.
Thanks again for your work
ive been on this all day today without any problems! slims as good it was before

Thank you much for the feedback.
1) You have to enable Superuser through Developer options. See installation notes in post #2, with a link to Slim's FAQ on it.
2) Good!
3) I've seen this before, and will look into it, although as you said, if you drill into the Wifi > Advanced > Region code settings, you can change it to whatever. So, low priority.
4) I'll look at the assert script for the radio version. Can you link the radio thread please?
5) I haven't heard of this. I don't believe it affects the Skyrocket...? Does this happen on the recommended radios?
I have a new build compiling with a "stock-ish" version of the Moretz kernel (no over clock/undervolting).
It has sweep2wake, fast charge, more governors, and reportedly better Bluetooth support (with SR users).
I'll post it for testing when it's ready for those interested...
I don't have any volunteers for testing (yet). . If you want to volunteer, you should be able and willing to clean flash at times 3-4 builds in a day, be able to capture logs and send them. Normal testing would be occasional builds, unless there was a major issue.
Looking for 3 or so testers to help possibly get this into the Slim weekly cycle.
Cheers!

WELCOME TO CYANIDE L
ROM INFORMATION
Cyanide L is the brainchild of XDA member @rogersb11. Based on CyanogenMod, and packed full of features from the wonderful custom ROM teams we have all come to know and love. This ROM is just getting started and I will update frequently as things progress along into the beast we know this will be.
I (TheGeekyNimrod) will be your d2att device maintainer and working on the theming of the ROM as well. It is important to note, that I have built this specifically for d2att and can be used on d2tmo (see info near the bottom of this post). I do not know if it will work for any other device, and cannot provide support for you if you have flashed it on another d2 variant.
KERNEL INFORMATION
Cyanide L comes packaged with the latest Shift Kernel, also built by @rogersb11. With the latest from CM, as well as his special touch, Shift has what it takes to get the job done. Note, that if you report bugs or issues with the ROM, I will not provide support if issues are related to using a different kernel with the ROM. Kernel specific thread can be found right here.

**Special note to d2tmo users: Due to unforeseen issues building for your device specifically, the build below will be the only one I have for you. It will flash, it will work. Only difference is your phone will show that you have an SGH-I747. You can edit this in your build.prop through RootExplorer or similar apps if you want to change it.**
CYANIDE L ROM D2ATT and D2TMO - Get the latest build here. (Current build RC-20.0) ... Older builds can be found in the same folder. Just click CyanideL and you can see all previous builds.
Developer Edition
If you use Cyanide Blackout this is a small theme to supplement it and fix some black text on black background issues. It also themes some other apps but main purpose is so be used with Blackout option. This is purely an Add-on theme made for Cyanide Blackout in the ROM Blackout Add-on Theme
Gapps - Use the Gapps of your choice. Personally, I test this ROM with these Gapps (BaNkS 3/28), but it should work just fine with most Gapps.
Extra: CyanideBlue Theme for Theme Engine - Grab this awesomeness here
DISCLAIMER
You are choosing to install this ROM on your own merit. It is up to you to know the ins and outs, and know how to properly handle issues that may crop up. Neither Cyanide, your neighbor, or the Starbucks barista can be held liable for the following including, but not limited to: Exploding batteries, spontaneous combustion, soft brick, hard brick, one brick, two brick, red brick, blue brick.

4) Flash the ROM and Gapps.
5) Reboot and PROFIT!!!!
6) Enjoy
IF UPDATING FROM OLDER VERSION OF CYANIDE
1) Wipe Dalvik, Cache, (system maybe)
2) Flash ROM & Gapps
3) Reboot and PROFIT!!!!
KNOWN BUGS
Same as CM and also THIS POST RIGHT HERE - Please also read Post #3 before reporting bugs.
NOTE: The stock camera is currently not working. This means that Snapchat, Instagram, and others may not be able to take pictures from within the app itself. Most third party apps from the PlayStore such as Open Camera will work for pictures. There is NO VIDEO RECORDING with any apps currently. IF YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CAMERA ISSUES WHILE THIS RED TEXT STILL EXISTS IN THE OP, I WILL MOCK YOU AND LAUGH YOU OUT OF THE THREAD. Seriously, it's been done to death, and I'm no longer tolerating it by being quiet. I will laugh at you openly.
ALSO NEEDS TO BE NOTED that yes, apparently Xposed for Lollipop is a thing now. BUT PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PART RIGHT HERE: Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should we ever see a bug report or complaint if you are using Xposed. It is well known that Xposed doesn't always play nicely, and if you are using it and complain about some kind of bug, I will laugh you out of the thread. I hate being crass, but after dealing with so many repeat moronic questions, I felt like I should go ahead and state this now.
,
Thank you and enjoy!!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does this ROM work on [insert device name here]?
Answer: This ROM is currently only supporting d2att and partially, d2tmo. If you choose to flash this on any other device, may Android have mercy on your soul.
Q: Why aren't my CM12 themes looking right?
Answer: Theme Chooser is still in its early stages and more and more items are being exposed for theming. So it's possible that some things may not look quite right still when applying a theme. Try going to the default system theme, reboot, apply your CM12 theme, and reboot once more.
Q: When will the next update be out?
Answer: When it's out and the OP is updated. Do not expect nightly builds or even weekly builds. I'm not going to run a build a day when it will make virtually nothing different. When I update, there will be good reason and timing for it. So please, don't ask.
Q: Can I use a custom kernel with this ROM?
Answer: Yes, you may. Though this rom comes packaged with the Shift kernel, you may run other kernels instead. HOWEVER, please pay attention to the troubleshooting section below concerning kernel use.
Q: Can you add [insert feature here]?
Answer: We are always open to feature suggestions. HOWEVER: Keep in mind that feature you have come to love in previous iterations of Android may not be ported forward for use in Lollipop yet. If you see a feature you want, and can point to somewhere that it's being used in a Lollipop rom, then we can definitely look into it. Otherwise, patience young grasshopper.
TROUBLESHOOTING
This ROM is still in the early stages of development, so you can expect some bugs to pop up here and there. Here are some guidelines to remember when reporting bugs to this thread. Please read carefully.
**Before reporting a bug, be sure you have tried the following:
1) If you dirty flashed, go back and clean flash first.
2) If you are running a custom kernel, flash the Shift kernel from the OP and see if that solves your issues.
3) If the issue seems app related, uninstall the app and reinstall from the PlayStore. I won't give any help if your apps mess up from using TiBu. This doesn't constitute a clean install of an app.
4) Read through the thread to see if your issue has been addressed before and if their is currently a solution for it.
BUG REPORTNG
**I WILL NOT LOOK AT BUG REPORTS THAT HAVE NOT TRIED THE PREVIOUSLY LISTED STEPS OR LOGS THAT COME FROM A COMBINATION OF ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE ROM AND THE SHIFT KERNEL COMBO. I WILL ALSO NOT TAKE BUGS FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE FLASHED THIS ON AN UNSUPPORTED DEVICE**
When you report a bug, be detailed about it. Simply stating "This is not working right" does not help me any at all, and I will probably just ignore the post. Be prepared to grab a logcat if asked or to provide me with the steps to reproduce the issue on my own device. If you don't know how to get a logcat, Google is your friend and there are multiple ways to do so. Also, search the thread, and search it again before reporting a bug, to be sure it hasn't already been addressed. No need to clog the thread with 10 people saying "This isn't working right".
PLEASE REFRAIN FROM PERSONAL GRIEVANCES IN THE THREAD. WE HAVE HAD RECENT ISSUES WITH THIS AND IT HAS BEEN SHOWN THAT IT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ANYMORE.

Not yet, but will in the future. This ROM is just coming together (as are so many LP builds). And new features will be introduced quite often in future releases.
Stick around, it's going to get awesome.

I don't have this device but @TheGeekyNimrod said that it half works. Most times it's ok but sometimes it crashes and he said something about the video recording but I can't remember what. It's a CM bug. I always stay up on Slim and CM source so I'm constantly looking for a fix. Camera is a stability issue all over AOSP L at the moment. Works on my Note 2 great but gps is wonky lol. It's always something but it's VERY early in the Lollipop game so bugs are to be expected. All in all it's pretty sweet so far. I didn't think it would be as polished as it is just yet.

SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
THIS ROM REACHED IT'S END OF LIFE (EOL). NO NEW BUILDS. Last stable build is one from 16.02.2016.
These builds are UNOFFICIAL builds for our device, and will work on every E98x variant (so that includes E980, E981, E985, E986, E988, E989, I've tested it on E988). I took some liberty and lots of my free time to bring this one to us all, so I hope you'll enjoy as much as possible.
Also, there is unofficialy-unofficial support for F240 variants via flashable custom kernel.
Please, to avoid asking already answered questions, read post #2 (titled as README.md) and search though the tread.
Downloads:
You can download latest builds from BasketBuild* or Android File Host or via included OTA app, if you're already using one of SlimLP previous builds.
* Basketbuild contains only builds after 29.11.2015, if you need older builds, please, use AFH.
To use on F240x (Korean & similar variants), you'll need to flash F240x specific kernel. You can use my official kernel (more info & download links in post #2) or WildKernel.
GAPPS:
Use Slim GAPPS for 5.1.1 (available here), use my pico build of OpenGApps (look under "Goodies" in second post) or download from The Open GApps Project
Changelog:
Since changelog is getting a bit too big for a forum post, I've moved it to my GitHub. Please, for full changelog click here
IMPORTANT:
For those still flashing latest build of this ROM, please use kernel from this link. It has fixed issues with LMK which made device go around and kill everything.
README.md
This is unofficial, fully customized build of SlimLP for our device, based on my device and kernel sources.
Device sources can be found here, while kernel sources can be found here.
Keep in mind that Slim is still in beta so there are more features to come.
Kernel features:
- Governors: Intellidemand, Intelliactive, Intellimm, Wheatley, onDemandPlus, DanceDance, adaptive, smartass2, interactiveX, ondemand, userspace, powersave, interactive, performance, msm_dcvs
- Hotplug: MPDecision (disabled by default) and Faux's Intelliplug (default one)
- Thermal control: Faux's intellithermal
- additional schedulers: VR, SIO, SIO+, FIOPS, ZEN and default stock ones
- Million and one TCP cong. alghoritm
- Faux Sound Control
- Fast charge (up to 1.5A)
- Underclocking and overclocking support
- Patched GPU drivers
Device source changes:
- Fully working RIL (thanks to rmcc for fixing this finally),
- Enabled init.d,
- Fully functional LiveDisplay (reverted from new, shiny and crashy interface to old, working one),
- Updated build fingerprint
- Updated device info
- Added policy for running V4A without SELinux permissive
- Density changed to 400, device screen feels better that way
- Changed gps.conf
- Fixes for camera (thanks to Emmanuel U)
- Fixes for screen flickering
- Added some missing options from stock build.prop
- much more on git
As with every device, some changes may introduce instabilities and problems. Please, don't hesitate to tell me here (or PM me) about them, but if you really want something I can't reproduce fixed, you need to provide me some logs. Also, first rule of ROM development - don't ask for ETAs (and I really mean that, next one with question in 'when' format will be blatantly ignored, don't say I didn't warn you).
INSTALLATION:
0) Backup your app data, messages, contacts etc... it's your responsibility.
1) Download ROM zip file, MD5 file (not necessary) and GAPPS; put them on your phone,
2) Make sure you have fully working recovery. Recommended is TWRP 2.8.7.0, maintained by nerdyblonde (big thanks!)
3) Go into the recovery, make a backup first, then wipe /system, /data, /cache & dalvik-cache
4) Install ZIPs from recovery (ROM zip first, GAPPS and additions later)
5) Reboot and enjoy
Always use latest build, unless told & stated otherwise.
UPDATING:
1-a) Download ROM zip file from thread or via OTA app
1-b) Download MD5 file (not necessary, but not a bad idea too)
1-c) Download newer GAPPS version (your previous GAPPS package will be preserved, do this in case you simply want to update/change package)
2) Boot into recovery
3) Create a backup! (Always have a backup. Don't say I didn't warn you...)
4) Flash ROM zip, GAPPS and other goodies you like.
FOR F240x USERS:
You have two kernels to choose between:
- WildKernel (maintained by Emmanuel U, big thanks from me)
- zeKrnl ("official" SlimLP for E98x/F240 kernel, maintained by me, see next paragraph for download links)
Download links for zeKrnl (current: v1.8_lollipop-f240x):
- Build 19.10.2015 (initial release): link
- Build 04.11.2015 (e980 follow-up): link
- Build 19.02.2016 (e980 follow-up): [url removed] (broken)
P.S. v1.8 won't work on other ROMs. You have been warned.
To make NFC work (as mentioned in this post):
syyune said:
3. As for NFC, I found a tip how to make it work in a Korean forum a few days ago. That is, just remove /system/vendor/firmware/libpn544_fw.so.
I applied that tip and it worked! Not only I can turn on and off and make NFC work, but also it didn't prevent the system to go into deep sleep.
If you can include this patch into your kernel, it would be more perfect.

Big thanks to syyune for finding that out and all testing provided.
Also, if you encounter problems with wireless (it works on first boot, but can't be enabled after that etc.), please flash this fix and report back. That zip will replace e980 wireless firmware with one from stock F240 ROM. @Sam Ash was kind enough to provide files and to test my theory, so you should give him some kudos.
ViPER4Android:
V4A is now included and default (instead of buggy and stupid AudioFX). I haven't pre-set it because I know that quality profile depends on user and I didn't want to fiddle with that - so it's up to you to choose quality level after first app run and let app install modules.

Slim for E98x supports RRO Layers (patched for Layers L1 and Layers L2.1 support), with Layers Manager preincluded in ROM and theme backup script (no need to reinstall theme after dirty flash anymore) To those who will ask: no, I haven't included any themes, that's your job
XPOSED FRAMEWORK
If you can't get official Xposed to run, try with Wanam Xposed.
BUGS & ERRORS:
If you encounter an error, please, don't hesitate to pull logs (logcat and kmsg, don't forget kmsg!) from your device and send them to me. That's the only way I could fix if something wrong, because not every device and not every user is the same. If something works on my device, maybe won't work on yours; if I encounter some other bugs, maybe you won't; so yeah, please, if you encounter something I don't know about, logs, logs, logs and logs.
Also, don't expect support if ROM flashed on your device is patched or modified in any way (for example: Lucky patcher and similar c***) because I won't simply answer to those questions. I'll tolerate Xposed simply because I know lots of you love that little addition, but c*** like Lucky patcher and other hacks aren't welcome.
TL;DR: "kmsg & logcat or it didn't happen" policy applies to all bugs, crashes, annoyances etc.

Bluetooth issues:
Flash this zip and let me know does it work. Big thanks to zombigrn for experimenting and making this zip!
Keep in mind that on newer (02.11.2015 and later) builds, those files are already included.
GOODIES:
1) zeKrnl test builds:
Since zeKrnl is (kind of) constantly developed, I've decided to upload tested beta builds with changes and fixes for everyone interested enough to test them. You can grab latest test builds by clicking on the link for your variant (both e980 and f240, but builds only for Slim)
Build 14112015
Build 23112015
Build 26.11.2015 (e980)/28.11.2015 (F240x)
2) Custom GAPPS pico package
Since I'm building a bi-weekly zip of openGAPPS pico package, I've decided to add links to current download (since it's displayed in OTA app). Current version is from 23.11.2015 and can be downloaded from here. THIS HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED!
EVERYTHING ELSE:
Please make sure you have read the complete forum (or at least did a search) before you ask questions. Be nice to others. Be nice to yourself.

I'll make some shots later, there isn't too much to be shown right now since rom is in Beta and this is first buid.
You can download PAC 4.4.4 with custom kernel from my AFH (see my signature )

Well, call audio wasn't tested, but SMS is working normally. Phone takes maybe 30-40 seconds to connect to network (damn old libs) after boot but after that, everything is OK.
And to all of you who are testing it: first boot just takes time, it's not my fault.
Can you build one for F240x?
Can you try running it with Emmanuel's kernel and test if it boots? Also, do you have device sources for F240?
I don't know the differences in sources, that's why I'm asking you.

For device sources, I don't have, but for kernel sources, there is @Genie's here https://github.com/AOSO
And @Emmanuel U here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...rnel-wildkernel-build-1-featurlicous-t3069629
I'll test a bit later. Will this ROM be updated frequently?

Most Custom ROMS are just one shot, like one build then, GONE! Will this be continued like BP or COMMOTIO or CM?

E980 roms should boot on f240x devices if they flash a f240x kernel. However some users occasionally report wifi issues, idk if caused by using an e980 rom.
But there isn't too much changed between both gpro devices, majority of the changes lie in the kernel.
Now. I'm using your Rom since you uploaded and posted it there. I have now 1 issue: i geht random black screens. HW overlay doesnt help. I must reboot my device! If i usw The camera: black screen too. Tested with snapdragon camera, stock and Google.
I found a bug: can't dissable NFC. I must delete NFC.apk...
My Idea for The 2nd update: include The quickboot apps into your Rom. Its possible to enable via developer settings, but doesn't help, if The files missing. I flashed them ans found The link in xda.
2nd idea: Kernel Mods. On some other lollipop Roms my phone charges faster. I think you must edit somethink in The kernel... I'm using a 2.1A charger.
If you want more bugs then wait 12h. You'll get all bugs, which i can find. I'll test wifi, call, Bluetooth, IR remote, etc. Everything.

I'll give my best to put at least two updates per month. I'm preparing a new build right now (added stuff to kernel, added Layers support
etc.) and I'll start porting to another ROM soon so you'll be covered
I'll check Emmanuel's sources tomorrow after exam, it's 3 am here right now, and I'll try to make a build.

Thanks! That is awesome. :good:
Maybe work with brother @Emmanuel U for the kenel for F240x. I am willing to test any builds whether kernel or ROM. As long as it's for F240x.

Random blackout is because of something else (connected to Live Display it looks). I'm working on that right now, don't worry.
Kernel has fast charge, you'll have to enable it via some kernel app (Tame, Kernel Adiutor...). Max is I think 1.2A, my phone charged under 2h on 2A charger.
I'll check out for other stuff, blackouts and some other stuff are my primary now.

Thanks, I'll see what I can do. In the meantime, try running it with his kernel, and if it works and you don't mind that your device is named as E980, I'll put a build for you.

Get a new battery as soon as possible, no charger or kernel mod will help you with that.
ZL doesn't ship here, too xD

No, Slim doesn't support themes yet, so I've patched sources to include Layers, it will be included in next build.
I tapped on submit too fast. Ok, I'll check sources tomorrow and try to build. Thank you for testing this
