Hello,
I have had my Kindle rooted fro quite some time but I didn't like it so I decided I would install the new ICS ROM that is out. However, this did not work so I tried to go back to the Kindle system using TWRP and the Kindle Update 6.3.1 from Amazon. Now, all I can see is the Kindle Fire logo for a few seconds then the screen goes black, with the backlight on. The light will stay on until the battery goes dead. Any suggestions?
Hi, I rooted my Kindle Fire 6.3.1 successfully and everything works fine except one small thing:
I unlocked the wallpaper in the Fire Utility and am able to change the wallpaper on the Kindle Fire, but when the screen locks or I suspend it, and turn it back on the Kindle UI wallpaper shows up (And it changes each power-up screen) I have to manually change the wallpaper each time. Is this a known issue, or am I missing something?
Thanks for any input.
Known issue...I don't think there's anything you can do about it.
Heya guys! I just got my kindle fire 2 today, I had this same problem with my previous kindle as well.
I have a fastboot cable but it serves useless at this point. The kindle will not turn on at all; no screen, no power light, nothing.
My guess: I f**ked up on flashing the bootloaders
My solution: ???
Ideas or a fix? I'd rather not call Amazon (again)
If its hard bricked you can do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415870
Some insight from the original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391047
This is usually above what most people can/are willing to do to fix it though. If you do get it hooked up and need to know what to do next, look at the original thread toward the last pages, it tells the command to run. Or see if kurohyou will fix it, but he seems busy with college.

Hello i have the same problem... My Kindle Fire HD is bricked, not turning on - black screen, led lights not flashing. Is there any other way to fix the problem without soldering? Thanks for help!
Unless you want to lose the data and send it into amazon for a free replacement, then the answer is no. Also you said you are on a HD, the contacts on that model haven't been mapped yet so we really don't have a way worked out to hook it up to a sdcard reader yet.

Hi,
I've noticed that when my fire stick is on sleep mode but I have not used it for a while, when I then go to turn it on to watch something, I find out that kodi has removed the beast from my fire stick so therefore I am greeted to just a blue screen and nothing else on it!
This is really annoying because twice now I've had to restore everything back onto my fire stick.
Does anybody know why this is happening?
I'm hoping someone can help me
Andrew
My Kindle fire 2G was working fine and then I switch it on and am stuck at a red screen. Amazon tech support says it's broken, but I've seen people on YouTube manage to get theirs up and running again. At this stage I haven't done anything to it. I have a factory fast boot cable and when I plug it in the screen comes up with fastboot and a green blinky light. What do I do now? Forums and video tuts all have drivers and patches saying I should install Kindle Fire Utility, TWRP, FIRE FIRE FIRE etc, but these all seem to be for the 2nd Generation HD and they say in bold letters that it is only for Kindle Fire 2nd Generation HD - mine is not HD. I don't want brick it even more by installing/modding incorrectly, but I can't find any downloads that are just for 2nd generation, non HD. I'm not a computer noob, but I am clueless when it comes to Android. Any links, suggestions from here?
