im on OmniMetal 4.4.2 kitkat w/ mpokang cm kernel. im on Paranoid Android 3.99 before. i want to try the split view feature on omni so i switch. the split view feature on this rom sucks! sometimes it crash or only showing 1 window. so i installed (via xposed) halo floating window. it works fine. but sometimes its crashing too, i guess its the split view thingy. i want to remove the split view and use halo floating window. I want to switch to Paranoid Android 4 but im too lazy to backup and install all my apps again.
anyone know how to remove split view?

Hey people
so I switched between some ROMs the last month and cant really decide on which one to stay...
the perfect match would be a smart combination of some...
for example:
I much use the SWIPE Android AOSP Keyboard on CM10,1 that allows me to use SWIPE in hebrew which i use frequently. Its the only ROM where I found this till now.
But in CM10.1 is navbar customization missing, for example i like to use the kill app function on long press the back button which can be found on Xylon or XenonHD.
So the question is if i can copy the CM10.1 Keyboard to Xylon/XenonHD - or the kill app on long press function into CM10.1
thank you
Use a 4.2 keyboard apk with Xylon/Xenon.
I dont get it. I am on 4.2.1 and the original android Keyboard apk doesnt allow SWIPE in hebrew. It's a CM10.1 mod or something like this.
Would backing up the keyboard with Titanium Backup do the job? Or would I just keeping getting Errors?
You can try that. Worst case scenario you just un install it with TB.
I am not running CM currently to verify this, but there is an option for "Kill App Back Button" in developers options in my current ROM.
Is there a way in any 4.4 ROMs to enable the Desktop View (ie: hide the navigation buttons below while either showing the notifaction bar at top or hiding that as well).
I love having the full use of my 4.5" screen on my Galaxy Nexus and I find it when I flash the 4.4 ROMs, this is the main thing i miss about coming from 4.3 and being able to use LMT.
I have been using olivier's cyan 11 rom,It has this amazing feature called halo,i am geting the notifications and can open the applications in halo mode but the problem in it is that i cant use the buttons ( like setting button on top and i even cant get the keyboard pop up when i open mesaage or whats app applications) please go through those screen shots i attached to this thread.
I made clean flashing of the rom twice and everything works really fine except halo.
14-05-2014 made a clean install of the rom again for 4 th time but no luck.Tried through xposed module floating apps halo no luck all all the same problem.someone pls give me solution for this.

The same for me.
I still can't post in developer threads so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place.
There are some issues with the AOSP rom and with Paranoid Android by surdu_petru.
AOSP - It has that KitKat "feature" where apps can't write data to the SD card. This means that you cant download from your browser, do backups and use custom camera apps etc. The issue might be in the etc folder inside the permissions.xml file. Also when using the switches in the status bar (notifications/switches) you can see a bit of jerkiness.
Paranoid Android - There is auto rotation on the lock screen which tends to slash the cover art when playing music and it's slow, honestly it would be better to have a switch in settings or lock it in portrait permanently. Also there is the issue when the status bar icons "drop" when another menu opens and go back up when you close it (i.e. long press + widgets). The same issues persist in OmniRom.
Is there any way to fix these? Editing permissions doesn't work and I don't know how to fix the "drop" issue in Omni.
Looked through the Q&A thread, can't find a thread similar enough. Here goes.
I'm back to PA after almost a year. I've enjoyed Sony's Z1 and Z2. Now I got my hands on Oppo's Find 7 and after a quick taste of ColorOS, I'm enjoying PA 4.6b6.
A lot has changed since 3.99!!
Here's my questions after all my rambling:
- where are the per-app DPI settings? I loved that feature!!
- how do I turn Halo/Hover off permanently? Chrome keeps appearing in windowed mode. Also, any app launched from the notification pane. I've tried "blacklisting" apps in the Settings>Apps section, but every app PA feels like rendering in windowed mode, keeps appearing in windowed mode...
- I'm getting com.android.process.systemui errors. Mostly in Find 7, hardly any on grouper (Nexus 7 2012). Any app known for upsetting PA?
- I'm looking for ways to change the resolution (DPI) of my Find 7; with ROM Toolbox, I edited build.prop, but there is no ro.sf.lcd_density option. Can I just add it?
- Settings > Display > Advanced > Gesture shortcuts promise gestures when the screen is turned off: double tap to wake, circle shape to launch the camera, V-shape to turn on flashlight and two-finger swipes for music players. Only the double taps that turn on the screen actually work.
Hope it doesn't sound like I'm complaining too much. I really enjoy PA and it's the best ROM around!!!
Keep up the amazing work!

Hover/halo is not the floating window. Hover is simply the notifications that show from the top. Floating window issue with chrome is a google problem on any rom that supports floating mode.
There are no per app DPI settings. This was never ported forward for KitKat.
FC's are probably related to card stack recents. Reset the on the spot preference for recents and use normal KitKat recents.
Build prop editor has always worked fine for me. That line does indeed exist in the build prop.
Don't know about find7, but the one plus one shares the same gestures and works perfectly.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I'm getting a lot of problems
com.android.process.systemui force closes several times a day
as stated, Chrome refuses to go into full screen, it's always windowed.
during calls (inbound and outbound), the screen turns off as per the sensor, but never turns on again until call is over.
if the screen doesn't turn off, the touch display still becomes unresponsive, so I can't end calls.
I'm guessing somewhere down the line I didn't do a completely clean install.
I'm curious about this, since Oppo is one of the officially supported devices, according the Paranoid Android site.
Chrome bug is a problem with Google on any ROM that supports floating mode. The fix is to use chrome beta now because google fixed it there.
Please revert back to an earlier build. Beta4 should be solid for you
