I bought the Note 2 from a CL ad, phone was flashed to a Verizon Prepaid number. I ported my previous cell phone number, but I don't know how to re-flash the phone with my new number. Any useful tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

Hello guys,
I just bought a new HOX International and planning to use it with Straight Talk. I have searched the forum and google all the related topics, but I haven't found any step-by-step guideline to begin the process.
Can someone please tell me where I can get started and what to do? I don't have a contract with AT&T or T-Mobile, so I may need a new number with ST.

I'm looking for a little nudge in the right direction here. I've read many posts about this, but few seem to have any resolution or firm answer.
A friend is asking me to convert his Sprint phone to a different carrier. I noticed in watching videos that this phone has a micro SIM slot if you take it apart. My questions start there.. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I cannot confirm the state of his ESN, but knowing the guy I can only assume he probably owes them a large chunk of change and that is his reason for making the switch.
So can anyone point me towards options for flashing to say Boost/Virgin? Would a bad ESN hinder me from doing this?
I, myself, have AT&T.. would I be able to use AT&T roms on this model of phone or would it be similar to my current Galaxy S4 in that every carrier has different firmware and therefore all the ROMs for AT&T would be useless and cause a brick..
Alternatively, would I be able to find a debranded ROM and edit the APNs to make this functional?
I am pondering the idea of buying the phone myself for very cheap and using it to profit if I can switch it to a different carrier. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Most of the links online lead me to total crap. Thanks!
It's possible for several carriers
It's possible to Flash to Boost(some say Illegal) & it can also be flashed to Selectel,Page Plus or Next G & u may be able to use it on prepaYd not sure. I can check it if u need to see if it will work with them. It's not an easy phone to flash the data settings don't stick so you have to use a NV Item Script. Hope this info helps you
Hey guys a friend of mine brought an Android 4.3 SGH-T999 with the imei null/null. I looked online and I can't access the qualcom menu it's blank or use QPST or NV-reader writer. Is there anyway to fix this? Tried an octopus box but it didn't work. can anyone give me other solutions. Even *#1234# doesn't work. Thanks.

I'm sure someone else will chime in here too. But if he purchased it that way there's a problem. Did your friend buy it from an individual, or an authorized retailer? Because the way I understand it, if your imei got corrupted like that, then you're pretty much out of luck unless you have a backup. Take the phone back and see if you can get a replacement.
As requested in all other lost imei threads, if you need help with this, PM me specific details about the device and problem.
No guarantees though if you guys have no idea how it happened. The imei should always be the very first thing you check when purchasing a used device.
I do agree with Drashnar above though. If he bought it like that unknowingly you should first see if it can be returned.

Thanks for the quick replies, but I meant he brought it to me to check it out. I used to be a PC technician and sometimes I dabble with mobiles too, so he left it with me to fix. He originally got it in the US and used it on T-mobile for awhile and brought it to my country then the imei null/null happened. He had taken it to a mobile shop first where they stupidly upgraded the phone I believe from 4.1 .2 to 4.3. This imei null/null is becoming a huge problem in my country as I've seen several S3 and S4 both international and US variants having this issue in the past several weeks alone.
Is there a way of fixing this without a box? I have a an octopus box available to me if someone can walk me through the steps.

My apologies, I mis-read as well.
I know how to flash my ls-970 to Cricket. What I don't know how to do is then activate it with Cricket.
I called Cricket and they said it was impossible to activate a cellphone that does not have a simcard in it. I do understand that their tech support may not be the brightest people and I see on this forum that other ls-970 owners have flashed to Cricket, but nobody explains how they activated the phone after.
Please help me if you have done this. I don;t want to flash it and then find out I can not activate it.
