Anyone having USB connect issues?

Sometimes my phone will not charge when connected to the wall or my computer. The problem usually goes away on it's own, but when I need to charge I generally need to charge.
Sometimes I cannot access my phone via USB on PC either.
Only with data to and from the computer. No charging issues at all.
I've never had issues when plugged in to computer (USB). I frequently have issues when plugging into wall charger, but I think I have a bad cable. Phone will recognize charger connect, sit for a second, and lose the connection. Charging stops while cable is in. I bought a cheap cable on-line for the wall charger. I guess you get what you pay for....!
I have issues with usb connnect to computer since flashing cm6 8/13 nightly. Will not charge or mount usb.
Restoring back to 8/11 seems to fix issue but can't seem to get any newer nightlys to work or rc2.

Kind of sounds like a loose connector. I bought some micro USB cables from monoprice and the size of the connector was just a tad smaller than the plug for the phone. So if the cable wasn't plugged in and propped up in a certain way, the phone wouldn't charge. I just bought some new cables from monoprice (the ferite core ones) and problem solved.
I guess when this happens to you, wiggle the cable a little and then hold it for a few seconds at a certain angle and see if it starts charging... if it does then you know you need a new cable.
I was having similar issues and with my sd card permission issues I simply uninstalled my usb drivers and my removable disc drivers for the phone on the computer I think there was like 3 sets and haven't had an issue since.

USB cable for Data transfer

Hello,
I bought a used 10.1 tab without the original cable so ive been looking for a replacement locally. I bought a Tmobile branded samsung 30pin table cable which i assumed is for the original galaxy tab, and it will slowly charge the tab but any computer doesnt not recognize it.
I installed the USB drivers on all the computers i tried.
The tab recognizes when its pluged in, and says its CONNECTED (press home kie to disconnect from KIES) both when it pluged into computer and wall adapter. But It will not show up with windows 7. And odin wont recognize it even in downler wode.
Is this an issue with the cable or tablet? Anyone know where i can find a cable that will do DATA localy?

[Q] USB port or computer problem?

I searched everywhere but haven't seen this problem. My Sprint Note 2 charges fine in every AC charger I have tried, my OTG cable registers when I plug it into the phone, but no matter what cable or USB port I try on my computer, it isn't recognized at all. No charge light, no system tray notification, no nothing. Every other device I have plugged into my computer is recognized every time.
This is complicated by the fact that I just installed a new motherboard and CPU and I hadn't used USB on my old computer for a while so I don't know if it was working before the upgrade or not. I'm going to try to find another computer to try it on, but does this sound like a bad phone USB port or a computer USB problem?
Never mind. it works on another computer, so it must be a problem with my computer.

[Q] Nexus 7 doesn't recognize charger

Hello,
When I connect my Nexus 7 to my charger (using the original cable), no charger indicator appears on my status bar. It charges when it is powered off, and when I connect it to my computer, it doesn't recognize it either. The only way I have seen that connect me to my computer is through the boot loader.
I don't know if this helps, but I am running CM 12.1-20150505.

Well, firstly I would ask you to check if you try with different cables and see if that works. Switch cables and your PC ports and make sure you have USB connection enabled in settings to MTP.
Secondly, try changing chargers and see if you see any difference either.
I am afraid to say this but Nexus 7 has USB port problems from what I have gathered from different users but this is just the worse which means, you might need to get it replaced from a technician by getting it from ebay.
But I would like some more details before I can actually pinpoint your problem.
Quote me back if you expect a reply.
Good Luck
Just buy a QI charger

Phone stops charging as soon as PC is turned off

That's something new to me.
Before with my Galaxy S4 I could charge the phone easily when I turned my PC off. I have set in the BIOS the option that allows to power the USB ports while the PC is off for that. It worked perfectly for my S4 as well as my tablet. But somehow it doesn't work for HTC 10. As soon as I turn off the PC the phone stops charging. What's going on? Is the USB-C the reason that happens?
(I am using a xiaomi microUSB to usb-c adapter)
I'd assume that it's not getting enough power to charge the HTC 10 now.

But is the power given to the USB port any different to when the PC is on? There is a setting in the BIOS to keep the USB ports powered on.
If the power given to the USB ports is the same when the PC is off and on then that shouldn't make any difference. Do you have any source that says the power (amps/volts) given to the usb ports when the computer is off is different?
Ok. I've did a bit of a testing and found out that if I turn off my computer while the htc 10 is connected then as long as the computer powers down the charging stops. But when I disconnect it and reconnect it the charging goes back. It might be that the "USB mode" is breaking the charging because when I attach the cable after the computer is powered down I get the notification that the charging is slower than usually which is fine and I know that will be the case (USB 2.0 gives only 500mA instead of 2A that the wall charger will give).
Boy, I wish I knew a way how to make this break when powering the computer down not occuring as it's a pain in the butt to have to reconnect it again.
