in my opinion, the best and stable kit kat rom is OmniMetal (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2550477), with Dirty_V kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2613655) and full PA gapps... i have 5 days with it and is just amazing...

Best ROM thread again. @Nephilim

I have had the galaxy nexus from its first issue date. I have tried many Roms. The best one IMO is clearly LiquidSooth.

look in the bloated roms section :silly:
Just a warning to you, threads like this are no longer allowed on xda. My suggestion is do a little reading through the roms your interested in and then do a little bit of trial and error until you find what your looking for.

CNA by far imo.

I would agree with this. CNA with jellybean has been the most stable jellybean rom I have used for the galaxy nexus.
Best ROM is the ROM that suits YOU. Just try all out and stock with the one that you like. I would recommend starting with something popular, like cm or AOKP.
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel
Most features has to be cna.

Which ROM is the best for you depends on how you use your device.
If you are using a device from Verizon the sticky in it's development section can help you get started.

Need help choosing my next phone.

I currently have the s2 and have been flashing this thing left and right I want my life back lol
So basically what I'm asking is what android smartphone is best out of the box I.e. stock rom and all because the GS2 is a beast only under custom ROM so what would be a good phone with a good UI AND ROM, I have my eyes on the htc one x or one x + and note / note 2 , nexus 4 , s3 , ... open to unlocking phones because I'm on Simple mobile if that helps...
Thanks guys some opinions and advices would be much appreciated

If you want something simpler and less customization options. Then you need to decide what you need it for. Do you play a lot of games? If so then maybe an iphone is best for you. If not then maybe windows phone is a better option..
But if I were you I wouldn't give up yet because we are on the verge of getting jelly bean. It's a good time for the Hercules!

Are you talking about the official jelly bean like the stock ones we see on the s3 and note 2???!? Lol I don't play games and window phones are fugly lol but thanks

At the moment, there's no 4.2
The only 4.2 option is CM 10.1 right now. I doubt we will see 4.2 officially until some time after the S IV is released with 4.2
Try one of the cm based builds. I've been on the slimbean Rom for about a week and its absolutely fantastic. Great interface tweaks and great battery life. I haven't had any issues with it at all. Faux kernel is what I've been running with.

I think you'll only need to wait for another couple months. With the S4 being launched today, you'll likely see the code released as an update for the older devices.
The only real question is if the premium suite will be included and if so, will it include some of the new S4 features?

CM10.1 is not the only 4.2.2 ROM. You forgot AOKP, Slim Bean, LiquidSmooth...

You try the Gummy rom in the original development thread? There is no pure aosp rom at this time that I know of.

[Q] which ROM is nearest to pure AOSP Kitkat ROM? (e975)

So I'm looking for a ROM with as little extra features and modifications as possible, since my girlfriend like the way my phone and tablet are set up* and has asked me to try and replicate it as close as possible on her phone.
What would be the nearest to this on the Optimus G?
* Stock Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 with Xposed and root.

Paranoid android? Reportedly featureless like a stock aosp. Haven't tried it yet though. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51405891
Cyanogenmod Definetly. Or Vanir AOSP.
Your first stop should be cyanogemod. But since, your girlfriend wants to set it up closest to tablet revisions, you should go for Paranoid Android. I havent seen official PA downloads for Optimus G but there are 4.2/4.4 based projects floating in dev
PA seems to have begun over from scratch, so this might be a good choice. Thanks!
