Hi Guys,
I recently unlocked the bootloader of my Optimus G (E987 flashed to E975) using Freegee (Downloaded from the market) and installed TWRP. I did a back up of the EFS partition before this.
Now, I'm having some weird issues when charging the phone while it's off. I noticed that I have a new charging animation and after a few seconds it disappears like the screen it's going to turn off but it never does!! It stays on a black/gray screen but is still on as you can see the brightness. It never turns off! Also, if I unplugged the phone and hit the power button the screen turns on and the charging animation appears, like the phone was still charging :/
I need some help! I downloaded an alternative bootloader. What should I do? Should I flash the alternative bootloader and will this solve the problem?
thanks!!

Do you selected MAKO bootloader, or STOCK bootloader?
I will explain quickly. STOCK bootloader had that problem, you cant charge your phone when its off. We have the MAKO alternative because it work fine, i mean you can charge it off.
PD: im from Argentina too:good:

Hi!! I installed the STOCK bootloader :/ So what's the solution? What can I do now to fix this? Should I "unblock" the bootloader again installing MAKO bootloader? I also downloaded, from the forum, an alternative bootloader (cwm-geeb-4-3-z20i-bootloader_only.zip).
By the way, I didn't see an option to send you a private message!
Muchas gracias!!!
it is better not to unlock bootloader .. it causing problems only... on LGs ..

You can flash the bootloader that you download, i did this one time. In my case when flash bootloader from recovery no problems. you should dont have problems.
Maybe i dont have the option active?

I did it cause I needed to solve the baseband issue after flashing my E987 to E975...Freegee has an option to "re-lock" I think it's to install stock recovery and bootloader but I don't have any of those, do you know where I could get them?

I installed the bootloader that you told me (wm-geeb-4-3-z20i-bootloader_only.zip) but I'm still having the same problem, I don't know what else to do to solve this. I wouldn't want to go back to the stock ROM, I like this one =/
The only problem is that the screen doesn't completely turns off while charging the phone when it's off.

Is not a ROM problem, is a bootloader problem. With mako i dont have this issue. But i hear that some people have issues charging with phone off.
with any bootloader. simple charge it with phone on, or restore bootloader backup and go to stock rom...

Hi everbody!
After unlocking my LGOG (E975) a weird issued appeard: When phone is in standby and I try to boot it up as always (before unlocking) by Long pressing standby-button for a few moments, the LG logo comes up, and then only a black blank Screen (after 10 minutes or so this repeats) If I immedeately after disappearing LG-logo I press the standby-button again, the well known animated logo appears and everything is OK.
On the other Hand: when I connect a completely battery-empty LGOG ONLY the black Screen appears, after some reboots with hold standby-button the White battery loading Symbol appears...
Has it something to do with Fast-Boot (how to change any options?) or with unlocking via FreeGee. So far I was unable to find any similar issues like this... It bothers me always to press standby-button twice to boot up. If I missed the correct Timing I have to hold standby to turn off the phone correctly. Please help me!! Thank you guys!!
Wrong thread dude.
Oops, thanks man. Could an admin please move my thread to the Q&A section? Thanks!

Same here. I wanted to write about this myself. Did you Install TWRP or CWM? Someone who useses exactly the same SW baseband kernel and LG ROM like me as a base does not have the issue and we were trying to figure it out. He unlocked installed CWM and CM10.1.

OK, so getting back to business i can see this is a problem when charging the phone. If i shutdown, then charge then in the morning unplug > phone shuts down again (from charging mode) and i power it up it doesn't boot the ROM.
I tested this situation and i saw that sometimes it doesn't even enter charging mode after a shutdown. I will test later and comeback. Maybe others can relate and give ideas.

Hello,
I have the exact same problem with my Lg e975.
If the battery is empty , i can not turn my phone on while charging. I think it is not even charging sometimes. I thought it was because of charger but i think it may because of phone.
Today i am charging 10 minutes still phone going black screen after LG logo. :crying: even not sure if it is charging.

Any solution for this? I have the same happen to my e975. I figure using freegee somehow corrupted the bootloader, so plan on either flashing a new bootloader or just an official update from LG and start from scratch again? Has anyone tried this?

Problem is its my wife's phone so wont try it until i get my nexus 5 and she can use my nexus 4 if i brick it.
***edit*** according the Houstonn, the bootloader located here: http://downloads.codefi.re/houstonn/lgog/misc/cwm-geeb-4-3-z20i-bootloader_only.zip it should be able to be used on any LGOG. IF you are game give it a go but i won't be responsible for any bricks. I will test it when i get my nexus 5. Its a 4.3 bootloader that can be flashed using CWM.

No idea mate. I assume you would have to find a full stock rom and just flash that via normal update methods. I don't plan on ever going back to the crap that LG call stock.

Happened again just now.
The problem is when it is at this strange black screen it is not charging!
Just i put my phone to charge left there 1 hours. Just wanted to turn on but didn't. Pluged of the charger and phone is not booting because battery seems to empty. Just i put it back to charge and restarted it 10 times nearly. Now the phone turned on and started to recharging from 0!
I feel like phone going and coming back to life. Some day will not turn on.
Ya.. . Lg phones has this weird behaviour.... Even with charger plugged and empty battery you can't switch on your mobile... I think it always take power from battery even with charger connected....

Hello!
I have a really weird problem with my xperia play. Tomorrow after the phone turned off because of empty battery, it stucks after the boot animation. However I'm able to lock/unlock it, it still shows the animation. I can even unlock the phone! But the display is always showing the SE logo
It seems like nobody else had this problem before. Before it turned off I played Asphalt 6 and i also set up the supercharged v6 script in the same session. I tested Chainfire3d that day but I also removed it correctly again and I removed some bloatware that day. It's an R800i, stock firmware and stock bootloader, but it's rooted. Does anybody know how I could fix it without reflashing the ROM? Of course I would do so if necessary.
EDIT: When I turn it off correctly it is almost instantly shut down.
EDIT2: Ok, forget it. Sorry that I spammed the board, I now simply unlocked and flashed it.
Thanks in advance

Hi there.
I don't know if there is already answered but i have a charging issue right after i unlocked my bootloader.
First things first, i flashed my Ε975 with 4.4.2 (via KDZ Updater).
I turned off the phone and it was charging well enough.
Then i rooted my phone with towelroot and unlocked bootloader with FreeGee.
Unfortunately, i turned off the phone, put it in charge but something happened.
It appeared a full-battery icon and the phone afte 3 seconds rebooted itself.
What exactly happened and how can i fix this problem?
Thank you in advance.

First, what rom did you flash and how did you flash it?
Try this as well:
Pull the battery, press the power button for a few seconds. Put the battery back in and press the power button again. Pop the battery out a 2nd time and then put it back in. See if it turns on.
If that doesn't work, pull the battery and hook the phone up (without the battery) to a computer and again see if it turns on and shows up in device manager.
Flashing the wrong rom should only result in a non-booting situation. If you have a custom recovery installed, you should be able to still get into that. The d850 has some serious issues with successfully rebooting in general (which can be resolved by the two suggested procedures above), so I would suspect that before worrying about a brick.
Lastly, the d850 requires bumped ROMs to get by the locked bootloader. The d851 (T-Mobile version) does not have a locked bootloader, so the roms are not bumped and will of course fail to boot.
Once you get back into recovery, just wipe all partitions except for internal storage/sd card and install a correct rom.

When you say you got the phone on, what do you mean?
If it is on and showing up as a phone in Windows, why not just use the LG recovery tool and flash back to stock, then start over?

I have an Moto G5 2GB Dual Sim 32GB (Unlocked bootloader, stock rom without root), i was listening music on Groove Music, when i received an notification of an software update, OK, touched to download and update (i was with 60% of battery), on the installation process on Bootloader screen, the phone randomly turned off, without any warning or error. When I try to boot it, nothing happens, seems died, when i connect to USB charging, LED close to Speaker starts blinking.
What happenned? Can I solve this?
Sorry for bad english.
Same thing happened here, with the same phone specs (2GB RAM/32GB ROM/Dual Sim) on the same circumstances (unlocked bl, without root).
Neither the device appears on device manager.

I was using the default stock rom, not the deodexed one (this one, the deodexed, doesn't even update).
Maybe it's due to the levels of battery before the update process begin, it was around 29%.
Edit: The number version was NPP25.137-33 (stock firmware).

Bootloader should work. Try going to bootloader by presing Power + Vol Down. But, for installing updates on Locked BL... You earn a price for Cautioness lol .
If bootloader doesnt work, you need to get a gr8 boar replacemenr

Does it show bootloader?
Sometimes even if bootloader is not shown, it may still be active. Please try to boot into bootloader and try connecting using fastboot.

Phone is dead, tried everything and all I get is a blinking led when charging.
Device isn't recognized even by lsusb, so I think there's nothing much left to do besides replacing the board/phone.
A strange behaviour, because my previous phones were all motorolas and I got no problem updating stock firmwares on unlocked bl.

No luck on repair.
Just arrived from the local motorola-authorized shop and they immediately check the bl conditions, so, no warranty.
At least that's a nice paperweight.
The value of the repair can be used to buy another great 2nd-hand phone, so i'm just giving up on this one until someone posts a blank flash for the normal G5
I'll create a topic of any blank flash questions...
