E980 CM11 problem with WIFI - LG Optimus G Pro

E980 rooted using freegee, flashed cm11 m3 and the previous nightly, everything works until i put my simcard, after that wifi stops working.
only way to solve is to remove simcard and do factory reset.
flashed cm 10.2 stable and everything works, including WIFI + Sim.
second issue, i have an Optimus G, and it runs KITKAT way smoother, cant explain, but the animations are jittery on E980, while on Optimus G they are smooth.

Guys, help me here, one day old phone here... How do you guys using the ROMs? When it won't work? Hope it's not the phone as cm11 M2 works fine.

Try setting region in settings>wifi>advanced
Also try to install the Jan 21 2014 cm11 rom, since some wifi changes were made starting from Jan 22 2014.
You can also try flashing the custom kernel from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50148452

yes clicking any region will enable wifi, but after reboot, you have to do this again.
changing the kernel fixes it, either use older m2 kernel or any custom kernel.

I am confused as to why other people are not affected by this problem. Its not only with CM11 that this happens, all the newer versions of roms have the same issue. Cyanfox has exactly the same issue that it has to be ticked again after reboot. Slimkat on the other hand remembers once you tick the region. One rom I don't exactly remember which one does not even have the region settings( either Vanir or AICP) so any other kernel has to be flashed.

exactly what i wonders... why not more than handful only complain, i have an E980, perhaps other models does not suffer this.
yes using a older kernel or a custom one fixes the issue, i have used kernel from M2 build and these days using the custom one.
only thing is the custom kernel gives me random reboot here and there.

After a lot of googling I found out that a lot of people have this issue but all of these people are using US version phones in other places than the USA.
The locale in the Sim does not match the one in the Settings Storage (or the MCC-Tables) in the phone and that creates a conflict.
If you remove your sim and then start your phone without it, the wifi works perfectly.
Give it a try.
Still can't seem to find a permanent solution to this.

Anywho I just saw a CM10 rom/mod/mod-rom for Optimus LTE and I dont have a clue if it works on LU6200 or I just assume that LU6200 is left out in the rain and I gotta move on with just P930mod for my LU6200?
If I can install / modify some of the files of the rom to suit my LU6200 please tell me that so as well. Seemingly I see no answers are replied in this thread making me kinda hopeless for an answer.
Thanks!
P.S If there is a FAQ/All-In-One LU6200-You-Need-To-Know-before-Any-Rom thread, Kindly do point it to me there since I cant find one in stickies. Thanks once again.
cm10 is working on our lu6200, even cm10.1. you can look for more rom from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051590 just use google translate.
does anyone have a clue how the su640 official 10.1 works? as i made it work on my lu6200 but it got some issues, display drivers i guess as page flipping and rotation is not smooth.
su640 cm10 works fine as the one in lu6200 thread gave me random reboots.
at the moment i tweaked jellybam to gsm only and stuff and its working great.

Hi guys, I am having a problem with my lu6200. It sometimes randomly reboot. Not excessively but once or twice a day. This happened 1st time when I flashed and used LTE ICE Cream 4.0.4 v163.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856223. I have flashed different roms including cm10 by wflsl and now cm10.1 try8 by tdmcode but its still the same. I haven't installed any new app and all the apps I am using are those which I used before the problem occurred.I have flashed ics engineer kdz again to make sure I have a clean os but my device rebooted again today by itself. What do you people suggest? Thanks for reply.
Update: I have removed the memory card last night and still no reboot. I am hoping its just a bad sdcard.
Update2: Yeah that was definitely a problem with the sdcard. I formated my sdcard from my pc using a card reader and re inserted in my device. No reboot after about 19 hrs of uptime.

The WiFi-fix patch while installing N9005 ROMs to N900T

Hi guys, I've tried to install many N9005 ROMs on my N900T device, they all works well without issues except the WiFi. So I flashed some WiFi fix patches from XDA and none of them are stable. I noticed those N9005 based ROMs that posted on XDA have perfect WiFi function (as ViSiON X N3), so was wondering which patch did they use while editing the N9005 ROM.
Thanks!

Find 7 Color OS v2.0.10 INT_11 for x9007, but works on x9006 just fine!

If you want the newest version of Color OS v2, you'll have to use the x9007 version. It does have English as an option and all the menu items are in English. However, there are a lot of Chinese apps pre-installed on the phone as well now. It's probably best only to use this if you want a lot better performance, but don't run anything mission critical on your Find 7a.
Here is the ROM: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1gdHxnZd to be flashed only with Oppo Recovery.
You will need the latest version of Google Apps for 4.3, here. Which has to be installed with TWRP.
I did re-root my phone using the standard root afterwards (from the TWRP recovery) and all went well! Titanium Backup still doesn't restore, but Nandroid Manager does, if you need your text messages and WiFi hotspot settings back. Simply backup with TWRP first, then you can restore them!
Have fun!
Ok, but what is with LTE (4G), ?? The X9007 has other frequencies then the X9006. The 9007 has no Band 20 (800Mhz)

Hmm. The X9006 is the US variant of this phone. Unfortunately, the US version of the Find 7a isn't getting ColorOS updates as quickly. All we are doing is using the newer iterations of ColorOS, which have no problem addressing the X9006 hardware. Does that answer the question?

I've just made the switch, and right now I'm really, really happy with it. Other then the first startup, where EVERYTHING is Chinese, and the lack of alphabetically sorting apps on the default launcher, things are working perfectly. Battery life and performance are easily the best this phone has had thus far with this rom.
IMO, this is exactly how Oppo should have shipped the phone in the first place, albeit with Google Apps and the plethora of stuff us NA users like.
I can post a GDrive mirror asap, and exactly how I transitioned from the International Beta to Chinese Beta. Done.
~EDIT~
Link to the ROM: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFsQizh49FUVkM3QTk2V0tkNzg/edit?usp=sharing (This will only work with THE DEFAULT RECOVERY. Custom recoveries WILL NOT WORK. I have tried converting this package to one that will work with custom recoveries, but it didn't completely work. If anyone can help with this, that'd be appreciated.)
Link to the Root Package (Same as the default root package, just putting it in here for ease of use): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFsQizh49FUcEE1ZDFBUHFuUFk/edit?usp=sharing (This will only work with THE DEFAULT RECOVERY.)
Link to the GApps Package that I have confirmed working, though I'm sure everything else will work too: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFsQizh49FURi1VQmY1UlBzVEE/edit?usp=sharing (This will only work with CUSTOM RECOVERIES. The stock recovery WILL NOT WORK)
Link to the Original, Stock ROM: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFsQizh49FUbTN1SHNEU0h1SU0/edit?usp=sharing (Again, will only work with the default recovery. You won't need this to flash the Chinese beta, but it might be good to have on hand in case the Chinese Beta fails or something. [I just like to have a backup plan] )
Thanks for the great summary. Works great!

x9007 was only a link to the x9006 dir, i removed it so please do this also.
I do this because X9006 and X9007 are similar and i would provide a international firmware mirror. Because X9006 (Find 7a( and X9076 (Find 7) would get merged i create a new dir: http://mirror.lucky.li/android/oppo/x90x6/ and x9006/x9076 are just links.
Also if i would mirror some X9007/X9077 files in future you would found it there: http://mirror.lucky.li/android/oppo/x90x6/firmware/cn/
This is the new x9007/firmware or x9077/firmware directory but to keep it clean without links. Maybe in future i will also delete x9006/x9076 links and only keep x90x6.
What I've found out about this Chinese ColorOS:
- Google Apps are gone - you can't even flash them via the original recovery
- Swype Full is gone - International ColorOS had it preinstalled completely free
- App drawer is gone - all app icons are being put on the homescreens
- You can't flash back to international ColorOS via the original recovery - 'Installation failed'
---> Solved this by installing it via System Update app (tested with Chinese ColorOS 2.0.14 -> ColorOS 1.2.1i)
+ Camera app - manual ISO control has been added, but track-focus seems not to work.
+ OTA is working

Kit Kat ColorOS now available

It's now available in the oppo forums to manually flash. An OTA won't arrive until next month, but we can update now

From the oppo forums, it seems like it's perfectly okay to flash it from TWRP, but the Rom will overwrite the recovery with the stock one

You might have to install it as a system app, but it might work seeing as how both run ColorOS
What about theX9007 platform?
This is great news about a new, stable release, but everything says it is for the X9006 only. Myself and others have the X9007. I use my X9007 in Europe and the USA... and have no intention of using LTE in China. If I flash this, will I essentially have the X9006?
I am currently running the last X9006 beta that was OK to flash on the X9007. All my cell networks are working fine, including LTE. If I do this, will I need to perform a special modem flash for baseband... or only if I want a "Chinese" phone? Everything I have always heard is that both phones are exactly the same hardware.
