[Q] how do i revert back to MDL from MK2 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

so im trying to get my Galaxy S4 to 100% stock for return and its not working. i flashed the factory image but the baseband is till MK2. how do i get it to MDL? i never took the OTA update and just flashed the the MK2 modem.

This be in q&a and you should have read first, but to answer your question, you can't. There no going backwards on firmware

Can you find a mdl modern zip. Flash that in your custom recovery.

[Q] Messed with Bootloader, Need Help!

So, I rooted my S3 (was on 4.3 via OTA) and tried to install CM 10.1.3. When I tried to flash it, it gave me errors. I looked it up and found out that it had something to do with my bootloader.
I blindly flashed this firmware, hoping that it would fix the problem. Then, I read in the thread in I'm not suppose to flash this if I already have the 4.3 OTA update and I'm like "Oh crap... "
Sure enough, when I try to turn on my phone, it wouldn't boot. At this point, I know it's hard bricked.
I go ahead and follow directions from this thread and I've successfully got the phone to download mode, but what do I do now?
Is there a stock bootloader I can use through Odin?
You have to flash the 4.3 firmware through Odin if I'm not mistaken.. It's the only one, you can't downgrade it anymore

My phone is already on 4.3, but I'm not suppose to flash the UVDMD5 Firmware while on 4.3, causing the brick. I can boot into the phone, but I need the SD card when I do since it has the 4.3 debrick image I found here.
I read the thread and I'm unsure if there's a fix for this.

Yes I know, you have to flash the 4.3 firmware again to get out of the brick.. Try searching or asking in the unbrick thread, you'll probably get more help there

Alright, I'll try flashing a 4.3 firmware. If I flash this ROM, could I downgrade to something below 4.3 and flash the UVDMD5 firmware/bootloader since the ROM is Knox-free?
EDIT: I tried flashing and it didn't fix the brick. Alright, I think I need to focus on one problem at a time.

That's a big no.. You'll end up back where you started.. But you can just flash a custom recovery and then flash any ROM.. I believe the error you were getting was because the bootloader wasn't recognized by the updater script for the ROM and that's why it was throwing errors.. Once you add it to the script, it should flash fine

At this point, I don't really care about trying to install CM. I just want unbrick it and get back to stock 4.3. I tried flashing a stock 4.3, but that doesn't fix the brick.
I think it's because flashing the stock ROM doesn't change the bootloader. Maybe if I could revert the bootloader to stock, maybe it'll unbrick it?
Go to the unbrick thread, there you will find the best help.. Real experts there

Just flash the 4.3 firmware (not a rom) via Odin. That's it.

Thanks Doc, that did the trick!
And thank you for the firmware/ROM clarification!

[Q] 4.3 Odin Image?

Has anyone posted a stock 4.3 rom that can be used in Odin? I'd like to refresh my phone completely but I don't think I can without Odin to flash the stock recovery + image.
This can be flashed if I am not mistaken. But this is for the SGH-i747 model specifically. Not so sure about the SGH-i747M.

Actually, afraid this won't work the instructions tell you to flash it manually via CWM or TWRP. I'm looking for a .tar that can be flashed using Odin which comes with the stock recovery etc.

There isn't an Odin flashable for i747 of anything past 4.1.1. Thank AT&T for screwing us.

My misunderstanding. Then no, there is no 4.3 image for your device. Sorry bud.

Downgrading from 4.4.x to 4.3

I was wondering if I may run into any problems by doing this.
I know that on an AT&T phone (i747), if you do that, you may lose your modem and needs to be reflashed (you get a null IMEI)
Is it the same on a SGH-T999? I was planning to flash this ROM:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=26636
Thanks
There is no 4.4.2 to downgrade from for the T999.
If you just have a 4.4.2 Rom, you don't need to do anything.
The firmware you linked is the latest available so you can flash it regardless of what you have now.
There is no 4.4.2 update for the T999 so yes you can flash it but it is not a ROM, it is firmware, please do not confuse these two they are very different!
Yeah... I'm afraid I am confused. What I did was to flash this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2690947
Isn't that a ROM?
However I would like to go back to 4.3, so I was just wondering if I could have any problems.
Sorry for the noob questions. I think it was clear to me, but I'm afraid it's not...
Thanks
Yes that is a rom, what you linked to in the first post is firmware which contains more than just the system and that is where you run into problems when downgrading

So if I'm on 4.4.4 right now, is there a way to go back to 4.3?

Yes, flash the link you provided in the first post or flash a 4.3 rom.. Understand this, flashing a rom will not determine if you can downgrade or not, flashing firmware will. Since there is no 4.4 firmware for the T999 you can still flash the 4.3 firmware. If there was a 4.4 firmware and you took the OTA or updated via Odin then the only thing you could do is flash a 4.3 rom, firmware will not be an option
Edit: oh and btw I accidently pressed the thanks button so you got a free one

Thanks. I understand better now. I have always been kind of confused between ROMs and firmwares.
PS: I triple thanked you.

Return to stock question.

So I was considering a return to stock. My question is if I find the stock 4.4.4 NH7 .tar and flash it, will it also update my bootloader and radio to the latest versions? I found the .tar here: http://www.droidviews.com/update-t-mobile-galaxy-s4-to-android-4-4-4-kitkat-and-root-it/

baseband unknown, no imei

I Flashed modem UVUEOH1 with twrp 2.8.7 now unknown baseband and no imei. Bootloader is T999LUVUBNF4 running cm 12.1.
Any advise on how to fix would be appreciated.
i have T999L not T999
Did you flash the bootloader too? It's best to make sure that both are flashed together.

Bootloader T999LUVUBNF4 was in place while running cm 12.1 everything was working fine. Then I got this bug up my *** to flashed the UVUEOH1.
It probably due to a mismatch between the bootloader and modem. Flash back to the previous modem or update the bootloader?

Right now I dont meet these requirements. Taken from docholiday77 thread.
Why does your phone not meet the requirements for flashing a stock rom from sammobile.com?

I was going to flash from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687 and the instructions say I need "Unmodified stock system No modem or kernel changes". Maybe I am misreading that.

I suggest flashing the latest stock rom from Sammobile.com If know the bootloader version on the phone, post it and this may result in further suggestions.
Flashing a stock rom will ensure the baseband and bootloader match.

Yes now root 66 complete. Looking for twrp install directions.
I recommend not flashing the root 66 ROMs as they appear to have older bootloaders and could brick your phone.
