[Q] Installing reaver or aircrack... - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

HI!
Now when it comes to features , the "flo" model is way better than nexus 7 (2012) BUT i saw that the previous model had the reaver and aircrack because of the bcm chipset inside .. are there any other similar apps in FLO except the pwn pad installation method....

When you say except the "pwn pad installation" you mean this method? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2577356.
If so, too bad, it's pretty damn cool.

Whether it is or not isn't the issue, the issue is getting the built-in wifi to go into monitor mode. There are claims that it has been done (assumign the hardward even supports monitor mode, one would have to use a kernel with a custom driver built in, or a kernel with loadable mod support which would load a custom module), you'll have to drudge through google and figure out if that has any merit or not, then work out how to implement it, if it's even viable.

i think it has been done .. after all the pwn pad method also uses elementax kernel .. the only thing which is stopping me is to buy tp-link adapter , which is out of stock for weeks in my country(india)...assuming flo has that hardware , isnt the built in chipset enough?

The same way you install anything else on android, download the apk and install it, it does not matter if you have a supported adapter or not...it just won't be able to open a wlan in monitor mode.

Going to have to wait for a kernel that becomes available that includes tun.ko support. None of them do yet.

Kernels

Now that we are starting ports and custom roms I think we need to start working on OC'd Kernels and Ext4 and different running states(smartassv2 etc).
I read up on how to compile a kernel but i'm just to lazy for that at the moment.

If you did build a kernel it would be a hack of the HC one.. They havnt released an ICS kernel for our tab yet that Im aware of (unless they posted one already for the a200 for ICS).

[Q] Ubuntu in tab s?

It's possible to run linux on android (google app store) app. And install ubuntu on the app and run the same using chroot. Will this be possible in any of the new roms that are posted in the developers area? Thanks for your answer, this will be principal factor in my decision to buy this device.

I don't see why not, you could even port native Ubuntu over with a little effort since the 5420 soc already has Linux ports.

Hmm. very interesting thanks for the info... Any hands on experience with "Complete Linux Installer" , "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zpwebsites.linuxonandroid&hl=en" Running Linux native in the device sounds interesting, but running ubuntu on the same within android is exactly what I need at this moment. In some of the devices that I use to have especially with a original rom this process is not supported. If any body had done this process in the device and could advise will be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

I tried it on the SM-T800 (WIFI) and it doesn´t worked at all because it cannot run the loop mode (?)
I´m trying linux on android for the first time so maybe someone can help me with it!
I need to figure out if it would be possible if i had another Kernel or another rom.
At the moment I´m running ThunderRom 800
Thanks in advance!

Same here. seems to need the ability to do a mount loop. any ideas.
I get "unable to create loopback device" error. Blows..
Does anybody knows the complete procedure to activate loop device on the smt800

How can I add an iptables module to a Fire TV 2?

Title says it all. Thanks!
Can anyone help with this?
You do know the Fire runs Android, and NOT Linux right?
If that answer is somehow unsatisfactory to you, than might I suggest you at least start with a Terminal Emulator.
I would have also assumed you have already rooted your AFTV2? 'cause if you hadn't, this will be a very short conversation.
Yes, but it runs the linux kernel version 3.10.61+ and iptables version 1.4.20.

Amazon provides kernel source. If there is a module that is missing, you'll have to compile it yourself.

I'm afraid that is beyond my skillset. Does FTV2 have 'modprobe'?

[DEVICE TREE][PORT][MT6735] Device tree for LG K350xxx

Hi I have working on this some time and it should work, I'm not a real developer and don't have big knowledge. This is ported from Wileyfox porridge.
I'm posting this here because I don't have a PC to try to build on it (I have single core celeron with 512mb RAM, belive me or not) and also my phone's bootloader is still locked because I don't want to break warranty yet because I had some problems with very low R/W speeds. So if there is anyone who know what should be done and would like to try to build ROM or help with device tree, please feel free to do that.
NOTICE: If you have model other then 8GB K350nds you should edit values of partition sizes in BoardConfig.mk Better solution will be if I known difference in size of partitions for each model, and even than I'm not sure what attribute from /proc/cmdline I should compare to get it right (in init_mm1v.cpp)
Device tree https://github.com/ProfessorWoland/android_device_lge_mm1v
You'll also need common tree https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_cyanogen_mt6735-common
About kernel if you try to build ROM:
Kernel source is published by LG here http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=ALL&search=k350
But also there is kernel on Lineage OS repo https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_cyanogen_mt6735
It should work also if you just add muse6735_m1v_m_defconfig file from your kenel source to /arch/arm/configs . Or at last i think that is our _defconfig because it's only one with anything which can be related to our device (m1v)

Nice, but I doubt it will work at first try since I made this without any real knoweledge..
And there is still problem where we can't flash anything without soft brick because of some signature or whatever else checker. Probably in lk (little kernel) partition so we need a good reverse engineer to make check function allways true and don't kill phone in process..

Not in a useful way, it compiles ROM but we don't have a way to test it, however even if we do I think it wouldn't work since even from kernel sources from LGE it can't compile working kernel idk why, since kernel doesn't have anything to do with tree, I tested it via 'fastboot boot ___' command.
