That's very ahem, nice, of you. But that's illegal, and clearly against site rules. Recommend "fixing" your OP before you get the banhammer.

If you like having an unlocked phone or would like to continue to be able to unlock your phone then please sign this petition. As of now Unlocking is illegal. PLEASE SIGN

Unlocking in and of itself is not illegal.

That's bogus. I called att and requested an unlock code. They gave it to me no questions asked. Maybe you should be taking them to court for breaking the law

The problem with internet activism is that so many participants are not adequately informed on the issue up for discussion.
The fact that so many people think "unlocking = illegal", period, goes to show how knee-jerk the thought process was.

Just out of curiosity, should we even care about this when unlock codes are at $1.99? I mean if you can't even pay that much to get your unlocked, you shouldn't be able to have a phone no? Lol. Just saying. No pun intended.
Of i report my Galaxy S2 lost, will they lock the phone when I use my insurance for a replacement? And what if I don't want them to lock it

That's called insurance fraud what your doing. Technically its a felony.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
I think the guy just asked a question about what would happen. But yes, this is insurance fraud and if you get caught doing this you're slapped with a felony. I'd advise you not to do it.
They would more than likely block the old IMEI anyways since they have it in their database and the old phone becomes a paperweight MP3 player.
TL;DR : The risks are too high and the outcome is too little and more than likely to backfire. Be legit about it.

Straight Answer
Once a device is replaced using insurance or warranty, they will blacklist the IMEI so that it can't be used again on the network in the event that they don't actually receive it.
If a device is reported lost, they blacklist the IMEI immediately and you go about processing your claim.
There is nothing you can do to prevent this, it's automatic, that phone will be blacklisted, no exceptions. If it's found, to whitelist the IMEI again, you have to go through insurance, which will promptly send out a return kit for said device.
You can't ask questions like this on here. This isn't the place for stealing, scamming or anything not legal. This thread will be closed by an administrator

So a couple weeks ago you were on here asking to buy a T989 to replace your Amaze because you wanted a bigger screen, It appears that you decided to buy it new thinking you can just scam the insurance thing and not actually have to pay for it, or get a second one for free. Not saying you are doing this, just that it appears pretty darn shady when seeing this post along with your previous post a couple weeks ago asking to buy one.
As said above, insurance fraud is a felony but honestly go ahead and report it stolen, wait a few days and call TMO and tell them you bought a used phone. Give them all the info on it they ask for, go ahead, or try to sell it. The buyer will find out it was an insurance scam and TMO knows it's connected to you. Who knows you might(not a chance) have a lucky one that didn't get blacklisted. In reality, I will ROFL when the police show up at your door with an arrest warrant, and they will...but go for it, see what happens. It may be multiple serious federal charges. If you bought it online and it was mailed to you via USPS, they will add the charges of Felony Mail Fraud for USPS shipping, and Felony Wire Fraud for ordering it online. If you bought it in the store then you can expect Retail Fraud to be added.
Let us know how that works out for ya.

You're not gonna get a lot if helpful responses on XDA when you ask a question pertaining to something illegal.
The forum rules clearly state that these topics are not allowed to be discussed, and no one wants to risk getting banned or even worse the site getting in trouble..
I personally don't care what you do but please take it somewhere else

I thought nfc was used for credit card billing. Under connect and share on the Gs4 it says that nfc allows the transfer on data when to devices touch one another.so what do csn be transferred from device to device is that what nfc is.why are some batteries nfc and some are not.I did some gooleing but I did actually find a answer.could someone explain what nfc is and what it does. Thank you!!!

NFC = Near Field Communication. It can be used to make payments, transfer files, read/write smart tags (like RFID, only you need to be a lot closer).
The NFC batteries have the NFC antenna built into them.
O.k. so you can't transfer data from one device to another device? Thanks

Selling phones in the forums is violation of the XDA terms of service. Swappa is the officially sanctioned partner of XDA for such transactions.
Selling on XDA is not allowed. Thread closed.
