[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][4.4.2] NamelessROM 20140216 [D2ATT BETA] - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

What is NamelessROM?

Simple - NamelessROM is opportunity.
An opportunity to have a voice to the development team of the after-market firmware that you run on your device.
The main goal of NamelessROM is to provide quality development for android devices, phones and tablets alike.
NamelessROM developers are available nearly 24/7 and respond to bug reports and feature requests almost instantly.
This availability will allow you, the end-user, to have direct input into exactly what features and functions are included on the firmware that YOU run.
NamelessROM maintains features and functions of several well-known open-source, AOSP-based ROMs, as well as many features of our own.
NamelessROM = endless possibilities. Unless you have an iPhone, then you're out of luck.

Thanks for the latest ROM

What difference this ROM from the rest of KitKat Roms? Ive flashed so many KitKat roms and they are all the same, exept some of them have halo And more customizations but overall the same, it will be nice to focus on battery life since At the end of the day is more important because Ive had great looking fast ect roms running but the battery wont last me half day im not hating on this ROM cause i havent flash it but again My question was... What difference this ROM from the rest of KitKat Roms?

Nothing much in battery saving compared to other roms, only differences are features, as i compiled using cm kenel and the rom has cm base.
I like the Nameless Device Control, its a Nameless feature and has some good options. Better answers can be given at the Nameless website though as i just compiled this for d2att and liked it so i desided to share it, im not the developer.

This rom is is great. It performs well and battery life is actually better than other 4.4 roms I've used. Great new ui customizations for a fresh look. The developer did an outstanding job. The one thing I would like to see is a more customizeable nav button option, i.e. remapping and assigning buttons, etc. Other than that, this is definately a daily driver.

Edit: never mind I got it
Can someone upload a download link I can't access it from mediafire for some reason

You're working on my request that quickly? I'm impressed!....Since you are in the answering requests mood, my next mortgage payment is due on the 1st. Please frll free....Lol......Thanks for your efforts.

I'll tell you what. I actually like this KK rom. It's smooth, the battery life is excellent, and finally bluetooth seems to work
I'd really like to see two features added which I think most of us pretty much take for granted which is missing here. The option to boot straight to recovery is missing from the shutdown menu, and the battery % option to display on the lock screen is missing (i'm not talking about the battery display around the ring)
Not deal breakers. Otherwise nice rom.

Did you check if there is an advanced reboot option in developer options?
Tapped it!

Nope. Completely forgot to enable developer options. Works now.

Octo_KAT
There's a fresh run of another ROM i dont think is on the d2att threds yet, ready for download now. Octo_KAT Has Omni Switch and hint hint, for features click on "OctOS build date" under "about phone" and you need the newest Super SU :good::laugh::good: working on a fresh Nameless as well, hopefully with some more navbar features but no guarantee.

Absolutely fantastic rom, with the only quirks being the soft keys and lack of advanced power menu. Besides that, I really, really like this.

#1 They are off by default, I enabled them
#2 YOU may think it's pointless, But many people including myself like them, & since it's my ROM, they are there. Feel free to make your own without them.
#3 If you would've waited a little bit before you started pissing on the thread, you would've found a No Softkey Mod To Remove Them.

Well problem solved there, I'll search that up. Absolutely love all of these small tweaks though, haven't seen anything like it before.
MODS
I am starting to build & post the Mods for this ROM, just check the OP.
I am open to input as to what direction you guys would like to see this build go, so tell me what you want. I would love to have some input on what kernel you would like to see included, then I can add a custom kernel, or would you rather it stay stock ??
If any of you ran my Sensei Mods for the Droid X, then you know that the aim of these builds is a close to stock ROM, with tweaks & options to make it better, with great battery life & stability as the focus.
Thanks & Enjoy~

Hey mobile_sensei since I came to the NS4G I have used your elite and gummy roms, as I have had no problems with them at all. They seem to run smooth and get good battery.
I like the matrix kernel that the newest Gummy rom has. That is super smooth. Also some mods that I would like to see is the clock in the middle of the status bar (white), a battery percentage mod, and a no soft key mods.
Thanks again for the hard work! (and listening to our input)

I think it is a necessary feature because it extends the life of the display. I got my gnex from someone who used only stock rom and at the statusbar and navbar the screen is burn (not much but it can be seen). So thats why I think it is a very usefull feature

Great ROM as usual Des-Franco, simplicity is better, settings are well laid out and not overly complicated. Only thing though, this could just be me, but I am getting quicker battery drain, this morning I took the phone off the charger and within 10mins the battery percentage dropped by 3%. It's now been mostly off for the past 2 hours and the battery is at 80%. I did do a clean install, I used cpu spy and yes the phone is going into deep sleep.
Any ideas? I just flashed ASKP kernel and will report back on whether or not it slowed the battery drain.
I did not do any restores or anything with Titanium backup nor did I install any big amount of applications (whatsapp, cpu spy, tasker, es file explorer, just the basics as with any other ROM) but other ROMs did not drain like this even stock 4.3
Just attaching a log file so if anyone knows what is causing the battery drain, I know nothing about these. I basically started the log and left the phone alone.
UPDATE: Looks like ASKP did the trick, the battery drain has settled down now.

Hard to believe the initial post of no known issues with the first build but if it's true then that's gorgeous.
Well it's gorgeous either way.
Will give this and omni a test run later today.
Can't wait actually... Given the mediocre setup we have been presented with coloros.

It works pretty well so far! Just played around with it for half an hour.
Two things I noticed: The camera does not go into landscape mode. And the Storage is still divided into two partitions (like ColorOS) Is it possible to unite them into one?
Awesome work so far!
The only issue i noticed in short test time, double tap to wake doenst work as wrote here before, double tap to sleep work
And one important question for me: Does the modem use Band 20 for LTE? I cant test it at that moment.
And it seems to be that fast charging works too. But iam not sure, because i charge at 36%, after 20 min. it was at 42% and 30 min later it was at 96%. There was a big jump in charging in 30 min.

will reply to this how I did over at oppo forums..
This is the way it is in colorOS as well I believe. We could have asked everyone to re-partition their internal sdcard but that's retarded. for one.. you would lose your pictures etc etc that you have taken using COS..

You have been on ColorOS haven't you...?
Then you probably know the issues it has...
And now we got source-baked roms...
FOR CHRISTS SAKE DO YOU REALLY THINK ANYONES GOING BACK TO THAT HELLHOLE?! :silly:
But no, seriously. ColorOS is in the past for me one way or another, I gave it a chance, it failed. Hell even the CM11s port does a way better job at handling this device than ColorOS does.
So if I leave the old system behind, why not get the most of the "new" system anyway?
Part of that would be unified partition layout if you ask me.

I see no reason why it can't be done as a optional x-plattform feature.
LVM2 works via loopfiles just as much as it does via physical devices, make your script format /data and /internal_sd if you want and place 2 LVM loopfiles into both folders, taking up the device space there.
Then on bootup simply check whether the loopfiles exist or not, if they do bring up the volumegroup and mount the unified storage, if not go with the convential setup.

What is NamelessROM?
What is NamelessROM ?

Yes... it has some features that PAC does not have like On-the-go mode and multi-pane setting page. I like it and running it now.

I don't believe in sleep anymore. I think I'm starting to get allergic to it. LOL! You guys do need to thank my wife. She was not happy that I stayed up to build this ROM.

That I know...This all has been a great learning experience. I'm looking into building a custom kernel next for AOSP ROM. And MultiROM is still being worked on, I'm waiting for someone update their part to get it going.
Running smooth
Only been using for a few hours but ....... OUTSTANDING!
Love all the animations. Device Control is sweet. Everything seems snappier than PAC or CM IMO.
Only hiccup I've noticed is the default launcher doesn't stick. I hit "ALWAYS" and selected in Settings but asks every time I exit an app.
Funds coming my way tomorrow and I am feeling generous!
*****Update*******
Phone must have heard me. Launcher setting sticking now.
Its a smaller file than PAC but just flashed PAC. Would you say this one is better? Lol.
Woo nice

Here is an unofficial alpha build of SlimLP. I will continue to release updates until the Slim Team starts releasing official builds for the D851.
SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems. The entire SlimTeam worked together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code. All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.

Double Tap to Wake
FYI, SlimKat and SlimLP do not include Double Tap to Wake by default. I added Double Tap to Wake and it seems to be working fine. Please let me know if you have any problems with the feature.

First of all just wanna say thanks for bringing my favorite ROM to this device. Secondly, have you given any thought to building Dirty Unicorns?
Edit: Disregard lol didn't see that you had built it already!

Lol I saw SlimKat and didn't even bother to finish checking through the threads. My mistake [emoji28]
Man if anything we need to get some folks together and dig into the camera app for G2 or G3. I tried the fixed apk from the G2 and it actually worked, and took better pictures than the Play Store camera set I rolled through. The UI is just a mess. I may try to dig up some info from the G2 fix and see what we can hack together for the G3. Camera FV5 does a good job too, but it's a bit slow. Procapture has good color with the right temps, but the Google Camera is solid overall.
Before anyone says anything, yes I know stock camera, proprietary, aosp not as good, libraries, etc etc. Just tossing it out there in case someone has tried. I am going to dig through some others, the Lenovo one was also really good on AOSP as a replacement.
Excellent...with some minor bugs
Followed installation steps by the letter
Pros
Just have to point out how smooth and snappy this ROM is. More customization than I will ever need. Congrats on that part.
Cons
Haven't tested out bluetooth.
No sound at all
Chrome has issues syncing with my account (prolly just me)
Icons are just too damn big. But that's just me.
Overall a very amazing ROM. One of the best I've flashed in my LG G3 :good:
