Battery drains my whole phone down! - HTC One X

Hi!
I'm new on this forum and YES I've read many threads about this problem with HOX, but I haven't found really something useful that have worked. I bought my HOX last week from a reseller so I don't got any guarantee on it. I wanted a HTC for the beats audio and the performance in this phone, but I had no clue about the battery prob, and this disturbs me alot.
When I'm playing a game on my phone it drains the battery from 80% to maybe 50% in 15-20 minutes and that's really disturbing. I've calibrated my battery that I read on this forum and it helped the phone a bit but not much..
Today when I surfed the internet I had 21% and i surfed maybe 10 mins and then it was 5%. I can't really figure this out why it's like this, I've read on the forums that it's maybe something with the Tegra 3 chip but does that problem still exist if i got Android 4.2.2?
I've thaught on installing a CustomROM to help my batterylife, so could you give me some examples and does my beatsaudio function still work if I install a new rom?
Thanks in advance and I hope you can help me with this!
Regards, Christoffer

The best ROM with best battery performance you can only find One rom that its good fore maybe its not for you so try them..You have threads with bootloader unlocking, how to flash recovery, how to root and put rom.zip and flash it and boot.img Visit General section

Can I root the phone with a stock recovery? So it's normal android + htc sense 5.0 and still rooted?

You must flash custom recovery, and then root..Root can be on a stock rom

Yea, I got it now Thanks!

Might want to read this great tutorial on battery performance. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156311

if you're going on a custom rom.. its definately better compared to a bone stock rom.. but if you're going for a sense 5 rom.. don't expect too much.. maybe 10% increase?.. for some reason i just find the old sense 4 roms better in terms of battery and stability.. just my opinion though..

Different for everybody. I got around 5 hours the other day when watching movies mostly.

stock kernel has a very good battery backup.
but if you want the best out of gaming and battery, then i would suggest try faux 10b5.
Its still in beta but I have faced no glitches with the rom/kernel.
My current stats after first cycle is 25hrs standby time with more than 4hrs of screen time.

You should really so a search before asking, there are a lot of threads describing that. Including the thread I posted a link to earlier.
Find a stock boot.img (search for it) flash the backup of you stock rom, or flash it anew.

My HTC ONE X

Hi all,
A post on my journey with my HTC ONE X.
Back in October 2012 I got my HOX on a 2 year contract with Vodafone UK. Once charged and turned on I was prompted to update several times (I didn't take note of what version of Android, Hboot and radio I was on before the the update) once all was updated (ICS 2.17.161.4 Radio 2.1204.137D1.21) and accounts set up I was pretty pleased with my HOX, but missed the cool features that the custom ROMS offer (looking back at my Desire S days).
So I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my HOX following the tutorials/guides in the forum. I then flashed ARHD 9.XX and the Extended Quick Settings, APM and OneXed Camera Mods. This ROM plus the mods IMHO is the best out there. For the next few months I was a very happy chap with my rooted HOX.
Then I found out Vodafone released JellyBean for my CIDVODAP001, from there I wanted Jelly Bean & sense 4+
To get there I looked for the correct RUU and finally found it but was stuck with the problem of being a Mac user, so I got the files I needed and used a friends Windows 7 computer, installed what I needed IAW tutorials/guides in the forum. Locked my bootloader and then went for it and RUU updated my HOX. From there it updated several times and after a few hours it was running JB 4.1.1 Sense 4+ (JB 3.14.161.27 Radio 5.1204.164D.30) shortly after I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my HOX again but this time Ive stayed with the stock ROM, but used Titainium Backup to delete a lot of bloatware & restore my apps.
I dont have many gripes with the HOX on JB apart from the lack of Mass Storage and the rubbish Sync Manager. to get round this I use Android File Transfer or in mount it in recovery (CWM). Also some of my apps don't run 100% correct.
What I do like is usb OTG, using a usb OTG cable and usb flash drive and being able to watch/view pictures or video without clogging up the HOX storage space.
If anyone has any questions about what Ive done, do not hesitate to ask and will do my best to answer.
Cheers & Happy New Year.
Doug

[Q] GimmeABreak for Desire HD ROM

Hi
I installed this ROM and there is an issue with the battery as the percentage keeps going down even when plugged into AC power(not usb).
Is there anything I can do about this?
Thank you.

Hi and Thnx Guy,
I actually rooted my Desire HD for the first time using HTC_QuickRoot_1.1.13 after unlocking bootloader via HTC site. Then I flashed CWR via flashboot using cmd on PC.
After that I just placed the GimmeABreak ROM on SD card and flashed via CWR. Oh and it was stuck in HTC screen after this and after much reading figured out that I had to flash the boot.img via PC.
This is pretty much all I did. ROM works perfectly fine. Except I saw that the battery charges pretty slow. But I read that it takes 2 or 3 charge cycles to get optimum levels. BTW I saw an app that deletes battery stats files and recalibrate it. You think it would help?
Cheers mate.
maybe you can try wipe battery stats under CWM recovery..but i don't know if there are in CWM menu..
or maybe you might also try installing another rom..
hopefully can help..

Hi Jeamy,
Ya I just did that. I will wait and see. As I am a newbie here, I was wondering how can I harness the best battery life out of my phone. Because that's one reason of rooting and using custom ROMs in my opinion. I'm very happy with the first ever ROM (GimmeABreak) I'm using and how can I go about tweaking the phone to get the best battery life?
Thanks

There's a multitude of ways you can increase your battery life
First off, buy an extended battery, they're around £20. It helps a lot!
Underclocking helps a lot, especially when the screen is off. l usually set my phone to run at 300 MHz when the screen is off and also force it to use the conservative governor. When using the phone I usually set it to 700 MHz so it wont drain.
Undervolting is good

i suggest better don't used rom manager to do that all...if you want to backup first..just do NAND backup (this will backup all inside your rom) from your recovery then wipe data/factory reset (except sd card), and then continue flashing new rom from recovery too..
hopefully can help..

No....what i mean with the Nandroid backup is backup Nandroid image through the Recovery that you used..like CWM, 4Ext recovery, or TWRP recovery..there's a backup option in the recovery menu it self to do backup all your android system and data that you used..
hopefully you can understand what i mean..

[Q] Problems with Stock ROM, and recommendations for a non-android User.

Hello Everyone!
First of all I want to say that this is not directly help for me, but for my girlfriend. I dont know you guys, but she is tired of her stock ROM since it freezes a lot of times, and yes, I have checked it, I tried updating, hardreset...etc and after a week the phone gets a lot of performance issues.
So my question is, I would like a modified ROM from the official last update if it exist, I mean that everything is working on the phone and it is of course faster than stock phone. This is not a questions "which is the best" nope, I just want to hear your reccommendations because I am not a user of this phone and I dont know very well all different versions etc. Furthermore I have read a lot on the forums, and i have a small idea what could work for this case.
for example:
Since this is a mod from a Stock ROm, It shoudnt has any problem, Isnt it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2400633
My big concern is that Im not the user of the phone, and you now what happens with "users" if something is not working...

You can use WinDroid 2.0 toolkit. If u want good ROM... Ignorance is really good but try something from higher shelf HTCdroid. It's the best ROM for HTC One V! The smoothest and the fastest. But a lot of ROMs has one issue. Data usage doesn't work... Why? I don't know I'm working on it but here is one ROM what haven't got it it's MoDaCo.one Ir2 here it works. But it's outdated so use newer ROM like Ignorance!

If you are tired of sense shpongle is the way to go. If you are okay with it, pick htcdroid. Both best in its classes. Htcdroid seems bugless or only minor bugs visible while shpongle got camera dead - you need 3rd party apk.

[Q] Latest ARHD v CM10.3

Hi - forgive me if this has been covered already.
About 12/18 months ago I flashed a version of AR onto my HTC One X - absolutely brilliant! Thing that impressed me the most was the battery life which more than doubled. Well, before Christmas I installed CM10.2 - it took a while to figure out where I was going wrong, and did have a bit of help from one or two people on here, thank you very much.
However, I can practically watch my battery drain now. So I have a couple of questions please...
Firstly, I've plaid with with the performance tweaks but they don't seem to do a great deal. I've restricted my CPU speed and a couple of other mods but it doesn't seem to do a great deal. Is there anything else I can do so that my battery lasts past midday?
Secondly I have had to freeze Theme Provider using Titanium Backup because I got that annoying pop up window after installing/uninstalling a theme. Is there a simple way of getting this back?
Finally (I know I said a couple of questions - sorry), if I wanted to revert back to ARHD, all the ROM's for seem to be for 4.2 or below only, yet I have 4.3.1. Is this right? If not, could somebody point me in the right direction please?
Many thanks in advance

last official from htc is 4.2.2
It says 4.3.1 because you are on a custom rom. For instance there are now aosp roms (cm11).that's android 4.4 ...... Sense roms are indeed up to 4.2.2 and not beyond that.
