[Q] Replace battery? - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

Hello!
I've been using the P6 for a while now, and I just LOVE it! But there's one little thing bothering me: I can't take off the back, to, per example, replace the battery. Since I'd love my battery to at least last two full days, I wondered whether there are better batteries available for our P6 and whether it's possible for me to replace it
Sent from my P6-U06 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

are u kiddin 6mm thick and u want more juice...

I'm afraid this is mission impossible. There are no bigger batteries, except the external one, which look like sh*t, and are very strange because of the position of the charging port. I hope with time there will come a lets say 2500mah battery, but who knows...
and for the disassembly you need to first remove to plastik "cover" on the bottom of the phone, it holds the back cover locked in place.

A external battery works great. When I go out I take my external battery with me and it charges my phone back to 100%. I have no idea were i bought it, I will look it up when i am home.

The external ones which are connected with a cable are awesome, i am talking about the ones, which snap to the back of the phone. They are a no-go for me.

oohh too bad.. I have one thats snaps on the back. I just love it. I am used to a iphone, so even with a 'snap on battery' the phone is thin enough

Of course i can be wrong. Please give a link to the battery model later

Thanks for the replies! I'll check out some snap-on batteries

Im more keen on buying something like this:
2000 mah would be pretty compact, and for example 5000 mah would support a full charge of my tablet and 50% of the phone. (4000 mah is the tab)

Yeah, those batterycases are pretty handy, but really ugly IMO. That small cilinder thing is an emergency charger, right?

It is factionally possible since there are battery replacements and as the dissasembly video showed its possible to open the back cover, however the question remains is it easy enough for an inexperienced dude like me to not damage the phone while following in a monkey see moneky do way the dissasembly and reasembly with the new battery

The replacement battery is the exact same battery as the one the phone comes with, so it'll be useless, but yes, I think you could do that if you want to

You could change the battery, but your phone's back will be damaged and it will show.

[KEYBOARD] Ultra Compact Mini Bluetooth Keypad

Hello everyone,
Its me again, I have just ordered a keyboard called Compact Bluetooth Keyboard from chinavasion. It is the first keyboard I have ever bought for a Smartphone. One of the reasons was since the size of the galaxy S2 is so compact, it would be possible to attach an external keyboard with it using a swivel, or sliding mechanism.
Now I need feedback from all of you guys and would like you to come up with every possible alternative that can be opted for turning our Galaxy SII into a sliding keyboard. I did come across range of other Keypads, but they are all geared towards the Iphone. So in vain I would like you guys to suggest me if it is possible to attach an external keypad on it.
PS: I would like to emphasis on any user who is from China or any other asian countries where there is a lump market for this keyboard, if you see upon or know any manufacturer who makes a similar or modified device to post thier links here.
Anyways here is the link to the keypad i bought ::::::::::

has any of you guys found any docks or extension plugs to hold the phone and the keyboard together ?
Exactly the type of KB I am after, so I'll be waiting for the review .
As for mounting it to the phone I would have thought that you could do something with a hard case, some thin metal strips and epoxy glue would give you a mounting system for typing on...
I cant wait to find out how much battery power this thing uses.

I can't imagine mounting it to be pragmatic what so ever. Definatily possibl with fibreglass or polyurithane(sp?) Maybe he knows an automotive bodyman who can help him out.
I suppose battery life is the same as regular bluetooth connection right? And the device itself should last a while. Pretty neat gadget. I could really see myself using it on a tablet. If only I had one

Well I ordered it hopefully it works and doesn't mess anything up It had good reviews on amazon however there are bad reviews on some of there other batteries.. I did the free shipping so I won't have it for a week or two.. So far it is the only one with a white cover that I can find.. And as for the size if it last me a day or two I can handle it. Not like I wear skinny jeans or anything and when I have to wear a suit ill put in the oem battery I'm just sick of getting only eight to ten hours on this thing.

The reviews almost look fake, but for that price its worth a try I guess. I got the andida 2300 battery and it improved mine enough to last a few more hours without a giant case.

Absolutely loving this battery! I had a ballistic like case that I cut out the back of so the back end of the battery can stick out and still have that protection from the case. Didn't want the trexcell and its crappy tpu case so this combo works even better imho. The pics below are from the juice left when I received the battery, as you can see took a long time to drain it and I had everything on full blast 4g/bluetooth/screen brightness 100% youtube running non stop etc.
Anxious to see what a few recharge cycles will result in if I get results like this on a half dead battery. I can already honestly tell you all this battery is a huuuuuuge improvement over stock, with the only flaw being the weird back cover that sticks out. Wish they woulda gone with a mugen style cover like they did for the g2x and its 3500 mah extended battery.
Lastly, I kinda like the battery door sticking out a bit more since it feels more comfortable to hold and the index finger has a place to grip making a drop less likely to happen.

There is no way that this thing a can compete with 2 oem batteries though. I dont do mod projects out of necessity, I do them because I like getting my hands dirty.

Does the Galaxy Nexus have a case like this?

My friend just got the S3 and I saw him last night. His phone had this cover on it: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...ds=Samsung+Protective+Flip+Cover

I it looks sick in person, I figured they MIGHT have one for the Nexus being from Samsung and all, but I've not seen one that was the same (I did find a few flip case ones, but nothing as slick as the one for the S3. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? I figured I'd have seen one by now if they had them, but who knows.
I have the otterbox case currently, and I've had it since it came out, but I'm hoping for something a little nicer at this point.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
the notification led uses barely any battery and you could cut a hole out with an exacto knife
Maybe I'm missing something here... Why would your battery be reduced by covering the notification LED? I fail to see how this affects the battery.
And plus, isn't the LED "covered" in a sense, when it is in your pocket? Am I the only one finding this a strange statement?
BTW, I do not mean to come by as rude or disrespectful I just don't understand....

That doesn't make sense. If that was his concern, he'd just open the case and see if the light was blinking or not much like he'd do if there was no case.
If I'm going through the trouble of opening the case, I'm not gonna wait to see the led. I'll still turn on the screen. That would be the battery consumer, turning it on more frequently

I think he meant the battery itself, not the case. But I agree it's not a waste since it's not permanent and you could always use it, but it would be great if what he said was possible so one wouldn't have to choose between using one or the other.

You must imagine that the demand is just not there, especially with fewer and fewer phones and tablets accepting microSDXC card nowadays. It'd be popular with GoPro users and a small amount of mobile device users needing insane amounts of physical storage.

I wonder about outlining the area with a pen then taking a lighter to it. If I were to get it hot enough I should be able to reshape it. I'd hate to bulk up the phone with an extended battery case.

Maybe you can use a back cover case that's slightly thicker back and cut a square out of it to make room. Then laminate the entire back of the case with skinomi skin to cover up the hole.

seems pretty cool.
I dont think i need that much space tho. And i wouldnt want to do anything to make the phone bigger.
Also with some modding you can cut a small whole in back and just mount it outside the phone. Get some fiberglass and you can mold a small hump for the reader.
Any of you get the 256 card yet? I wonder how well it works. Apparently 256 isn't common.

Battery life...wtf??

This battery so far is underwhelming. Today especially.
I went to Universal Studios with the family but I left my phone in the car because I don't have a case and I didn't want it falling out of my pocket. That and water rides, I didn't want it getting wet. After getting back to the car, I grabbed my phone and checked the battery. Sitting in the car unused, with full signal, in 9 hours it dropped to 68%.
That doesn't sound right at all.
Wtf???
man it is too hot may that casue battery drop so fast
you should feel lucky your phone not blowout
You could have a app in the background not letting your phone deep sleep.
Also, what he said. When your battery is hot it's less efficient.

come again?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
It wasn't hot at all. The only app that was running was myfitnesspal. But it had no keep awake time so it didn't make sense.
I'm just kinda disappointed because my Note 2 could go all night and lose maybe 10%, so right around one percent every hour. I was expecting this phone to be able to do that as well...
Especially since my kid's 2013 Nexus 7 is on 4.4.2 and it went all night and most of the day yesterday unplugged and never dropped from 100%. I mean yeah it's a tablet with a bigger battery but still...

What are your settings?
Purely LTE?
What apps do you have
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
you need to install a wakelock app and see what app(s) are eating your battery up..
I also see you have complained about this phone endlessly since you got it, so maybe you should get something different..

LOL, complained endlessly? I've made this thread about the battery life and a thread about the screen not sitting flush. Two whole threads with valid complaints, ohnoes! I'm sorry that I apparently am more scrupulous about my purchases than you. I love the phone, but there are obviously some build quality concerns, and I think the battery (at least in mine) is overrated/underwhelming. Overall I like the phone, though. So yes, if I want to complain about a few problems in hopes that they can be fixed, then I'm going to. Am I doing it endlessly? Absolutely not. So stop exaggerating.

every one of your posts since you got this phone is a complaint; not exaggerating, just factual..
How was your signal? Maybe in the Glovebox signal wasn't great and it was trying to sync or something. That could cause rapid drain.
Mine is great

May be you are not meant to own this phone, return or sell it and save yourselves lot of headaches.

Don't remember, honestly. That might have been the problem.

Nope, just exaggerating. I did a search and I haven't posted anything since December of last year when I still had my Note 2. Then around launch day for the M8 I asked a couple questions about being able to install a GPe rom on the phone, and if HTC/sense phones had the infamous Android OS battery drain. Then a thread about build quality and a thread about battery life.
So get off my nuts. If you don't like my threads, stay out of them. I just got a Seidio case and a Mime screen protector, so obviously I like the phone and intend to keep it. I'm sorry you have lower standards than I do when it comes to expensive purchases.
For everyone that at least attempted to throw out ideas as to why my battery drained so fast that day, thanks for the help. Wase, thanks for nothing.
Mods, feel free to close this thread since this troll douched it up.
