I know I'm not the only one with this problem, so I started a thread to find out is there anything we can do to fix sensors. In my case g sensor and compass don't work. I don't know is it physical or software issue. I found out sensors didn't work after I was jugling between roms CM 10.2 -> 10.1. Tried roms with sense, tried official roms, nothing. Anyone can help?
anybody? i'm desperate to make it work.
Maybe now? I'm still hoping this can be fixed somehow...

If your sensors didn't worked, out of the box. And even if in non of the roms you can get back your sensors to work, then probably your sensor hardware needs to be replaced.
Usually there were peoples who had sensors issues in CM roms, but by flashing Sense rom, they used to get back there sensors to work. But as you said, non of the Roms solved your issue, then it looks like its a hardware issue.
Thanks....

After flashing a few ROM's I noticed my accelerometer, g-sensor, and magnetometer (compass) stopped working. I thought it might be the ROM that I was using so I restored stock and they still aren't working. I did a factory wipe and it still doesn't work.
If anyone has a fix for this I'd be very happy.
Also, where are these sensors physically located? I have opened my case when I fixed my spring so I want to know if I messed anything up then. Although the sensors were working fine for quite a while after.
thanks for any help!

I am having the same issue. I have rebooted and re romed like 5 times with no change.
Same problem
I have the same problem, but only for the g-sensor.
It was the same story after installing a custom rom the sensor stopped. This would'nt work again with any other rom.
Please an advice?
As title says: since i rooted my desire hd and flashed a custom rom, the proximity sensor ( G-sensor) and compass aren't working anymore. Tried to calibrate, reset, hard reset, flashed other roms, nothing helped. While calibrating, nothing moved, not the levelers and not the needle of the compass.
What relation do they have together? Is it one part? Could it be a hardware problem or just software?
I noticed some threads about a locked G-sensor. Tried to "shake" them loose. No result. Who can and is willing to help me? thnx.
Mine proximity s. isn't working either. I guess I will take it apart and have a look at it, could be dust or smth.

I replaced my Earspeaker yesterday since the sound had been really bad for som time.. while doing this I removed loads of dust located behind the Grid at the top the phone.. doing this ofc fixed the sound, but i also made my Proximity sensor work again.. and made the GPS get a better signal.. so really try cleaning it.. does wonders...

Try a fresh install of an RUU (going back to stock).
If it doesn't work then it shouldn't be a software issue.
Normally rooting does not affect those things.
When I flashed cm7 to my DHD the proximity sensor stopped working. It was an issue with the sensitivity settings of the sensor not being correct for AOSP roms. I fixed it using the app in this thread.

My sensors are good, this must be software related since it happened at the first boot of a new ROM.
Problem is, even if I flash stock firmware I have no luck making auto rotation and other motion features such as quick glance to work.
Anybody got an idea?
Anyone?

It must be software related.. When i flashed the leaked 4.3 it was fixed, but after a week stopped again

What apps are you using to test the errors... If they aren't compatible with the leaked 4.3 then that might be the issue? Also kernal compatibility might be what's throwing it off

Well i try to rotate the screen for starter's.. Calibration don't even respond to movement as the ball stays in the center. Gyroscope demanding apps such as flight games dont work. Its not 4.3 as 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 don't fix it either
Same problem since 2 months
i too have the same problem...
i guess i can say that i'm not a noob... searched everything on the internet for this problem...
found no solution yet...
i too thought this was a kernel related problem ... tried many roms and kernels ... even i unrooted my phone and installed the stock ROM ... no help still..
i got the sensors working by accident sometimes ... but they again stopped working randomly...
i didn't open up my phone yet .. and didn't give it to the service center... thinking of doing that in some days
i guess the problem started when i dropped my phone and cracked the screen ... 4-5 months ago .. gave it to an unauthorized repair to replace the screen .. i guess he messed something up ..
but the problem started way after i replaced it ... started giving the problem since 2 months after the repairs...
any help before i spend more money to repairs/replace the sensors? .. \

Hi everyone !
I have an issue on my One X when I'm using the g sensor. For instance, if I use it to take a photosphere, the points start to slowly drift to the side.
I'm on CM11 M7 but i've had the issue for a long time even on CM10.
What's happening ?
I rebooted while pressing volume up and it seemed to work. I managed to make a small photoshpere. I tried to make another one and the g sensor was acting weird again.
No idea ?

have you tried to calibrate your g-sensor?
Yes, I've used GPS status and advanced tools that both have a calibration functionality. That didn't work.
Maybe there is another way of doing it that I'm not aware of.

This technique seems to apply to phones which don't have a working sensor at all. But I've tried it anyway. And it doesn't work.

have you tried a sense rom?
I have the same issue on my HTC One S ville running CM11. I was thinking about downgrading to CM10 but that doesn't seem to fix it as you say.
I would really like photosphere to work correctly. Does anybody else have this problem (running stock rom), any fixes?
my device is LG-G3-D855.
after upgrading the software to android 5.0 from LG PC Suit, and after a day passed, I noticed that my auto-rotation is not working, and the proximity sensor is not responding during a call and the screen remains active.
I tested the sensors through hidden menu and saw that they are actually working and they are not stocked.
what is the solution? is it a software problem?
I also did downgrade the OS to the stock one and the problem still remains.
I'm sorry I am not able to help, but I am able to tell you I came to the forums today to post the exact same issue.
I had been using Liquid and CM12 for a while and my proximity sensors and brightness sensors (as well as screen turning off when I bring phone to my ear) were not working. I simply assumed it was an AOSP problem.
I just recently flashed the new stock lollipop rom that's on the development forum and I am having the same problem still. I do not know how to fix it and I'm hoping someone out there can help us!
edit: everytime I try to recalibrate the proximity sensor in settings, settings 'unexpectantly closes'

Have you had any luck on finding a solution to this? I've been in the same boat for a couple months now.

Dang, same thing on my end. I've tried several different Roms/Kernels and still nothing. If I find a solution, I'll be sure to let you know!
Bump
Im having this issue as well. Anyone?
I've just resolved the same issue. No matter ROM I flashed to my LG G3 all the sensors were gone. The only thing it fixed that was flashing TOT using lg flash. More details on : htt ps: //forum.xda-developers. com/showthread .php?t= 2785089
ADD: The updated method worked for me NOT the original one.
Fingers crossed.
