[Solved] [Q] Decompile/ Recompile CM11 Settings.apk - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

I know there's a lot of guide out their but it seems that they have different ways on doing it. What exactly I want to ask is the process of how to decompile and recompile cm11 settings.apk. Been doing it for awhile but i'm having error recompiling, i'm not good at it Thank you in advance :good:

Thanks people for reading Anyway, i was able to make it :highfive: Thanks @iamareebjamal

Looks Awsome!!! I tried doing this (I'm Still tring to figure it out) It compiles but settings.apk doesnt show on the phone when instilled and i get an install error. I like the Blue and green!

There's a guide for doing it correctly. Just look for it in the forum

I don't want to sound rude or ungrateful but wouldn't be easier and more helpful to simply tell us how you managed to solve this? Or even point it out to us the topic that helped you? Because I looked everywhere and found nothing related to this...

its not working buddy.... i think the problem is with the baseband... which are obviously entirely different for SGS & SGS2...
one more thing, it didnt ask for change in permissions. or i couldnt find an option of changing permission to 667...
any input would be highly appreciated......

What is your firmware version? It should work fine for KDD. Also are you on a Deodexed rom?
There are no changes to the baseband and this version is based on the SGS II framework itself.

Lol dude, I was the one who made this MOD for Galaxy S, So I definitely know what I am doing. It's just that I don't have a Galaxy S II and all the ROMs out there are Odin Flashable, so I don't have the required files.
KE2 seems to be working. Got a confirmation. You may give a last try

What rom are you using? You need a deodexed rom in order to use this and the only one that's out there is VillainROM:

Change the Permission of framework.jar to the same Permissions as that of the framework-res.apk. Long pressing filename in Root Explorer will give you the Permissions option.

[Q] Default build.prop value for ro.product.model and ro.product.?

I modified my build.prop to try and get Netflix to work, which failed. (Sadface.) Today I noticed that Swype has stopped working, searching on the error message it looks like yeah, it also checks ro.product.model or ro.product.manufacturer to make sure you've got the right phone for the version.
Anyways, like an idiot I accidentally deleted my backup build.prop. Turns out even a factory reset doesn't replace that file. So! I was hoping someone had a backed up unmodified build.prop and could quickly tell me what those two lines (ro.product.model and ro.product.manufacturer) read.
Thanks!

You should ask for a copy of someone's build.prop by posting a question thread in this section http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/help

[Q] custom rom editing

currently trying to help edit a rom but i cant figure out how to resize the images that need resizing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1296554
Remember, it is NOT as easy as it sounds. If it were, all ROM's would have been perfectly resized till now.

Well... that "text notification" on the lock screen is Missed It! from the Market. The user is using that in conjunction with Widget Locker. For mClock, make sure you are extracting the .zip file and then only placing that folder in the mClock folder in /sdcard/mClock/FolderName. (i.e., not the zip, just the extracted contents).
thank you very much !!!

[OFFICIAL THREAD] Getting the LG QRemote from 5.0 Korean update working on AOSP 5.x

***OFFICIAL THREAD FOR THIS ISSUE FOR THE OPTIMUS G PRO E980***
I have the necessary APKs and other files to make a flashable zip, however whenever I try to flash it it succeeds but when I click on quickremote, the app force closes on me and will not load. How can we successfully get this to work on lollipop? I have posted several times in the forums but nobody seems to care about helping get this done.
Here is a the link to my pasted logcat relating to this error. I uploaded it to pastebin.

Are you sure, you got all files? Odex file? Another part of the apk? Set the right permissions? Do you use a custom screen density?

Check your inbox BTW. I just sent you a message.
Code:
03-02 12:34:40.312 E/AndroidRuntime(4334): java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Failed resolution
by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Didn't find class "com.lge.systemservice.core.LGContext" on path: DexPathList[[zip file "/system/app/LGQRemote.apk"],nativeLibraryDirectories=[/vendor/lib, /system/lib]]
First is why I asked about density. Try it out with stock density of the G3
2nd: Those are the patha I'd go diggin. Maybe gonna explain a bit closer/have a closer look tomorrow. Got to sleep now.^^
Amything new here? Have you already searched in the fokders I "mentioned"?
I'm back and trying to get this working once more. It is so odd that the way they got this working on the G2 and G3 does not work on ours. It makes me think that the stock LG ROM with lollipop for the G Pro is just a bunch of hacks LG threw into a zip file which just makes this even more difficult. I'm not going to give up yet though. If anyone else has any suggestions please PM me. I would gladly appreciate more ideas.

I am pretty sure the odex files are generated when the ROM is installed. This means I need to have someone who has the ROM working to get them to me.. The zip only has the files from the system partition.
