hotmail not updating on my phone

i have recieved new emails but nothing shows up on my phone,but when i get on my desktop they r in my inbox. why would it not be updating? thx in advance for help

This happens from time to time, and it's quite annoying, as i rely on this for business...i haven't received any emails from hotmail / live account for the past 2 days...yahoo is syncing fine...

i just attempted to access my live.com email account and was greated with this msg...it may or may not be related...
"We're doing some maintenance to improve the service. We apologize for getting in your way. Please try again in a few minutes. If it's been more than an hour, tell us you're still waiting."

thx again, but i didnt even get that message,it just said that it synced and i had no new emails,hopefully it is a fix that microsoft is working on. thx again

check your account settings. Sometimes the password is not saved or some setting is not what it should be. I encountered the same issue with yahoo. Am not familiar at all with account settings so it was easier for me to delete the account and create it again. Upon creation I had not issues.

Evo with Facebook question?

I'm not sure i'm in the right place for this quesiton or not but anyway here goes, i currently have an Evo that i use FB on quite often, once i get into a friends profile is there any place where i can send him/her a private message? I can do this off my pc but i dont see it anywhere as an option on my phone?

I don't use facebook, but have you tried pushing menu and seeing if it brings up additional options?

I don't think so. Only way i know of is clicking messages in the main menu.

Yes, click messages, not friends to send a message. Or use touch.facebook.com in the browser.

[Q] Whats the best Email App with good notification?

Looking for a decent email app that I can hear or feel (vibrate) when I get a new email.
I've tried K9 but I can only hear that when on Wi-fi for some reason, does anyone else have any other recommendations ? I have a Gmail account.

Should have said I've tried that as well but notifications aren't coming through on it when I'm not connected to Wi-fi :-(

Have you set your phone to only sync when connected to wi-fi by any chance?
Thought there was an option for that on the initial setup. Could be wrong :/

Good thought ! Just downloaded Touchdown though & turned off Wi-fi, seems to work with this ok, although would prefer more vibration notification !

Gmail is simply the best, once I get a email within seconds I get an alert.

Default email exchange not pushing

Hello I currently have the s4 I couldn't find help in that section so maybe here would be different. I also had this problem with my stock s3. I need my emails to be pushed to my phone ASAP. But the problem is my phone won't push on its own unless I go in there and refresh, and when it does its usually about 6-8 minutes until I get the notification. My settings are set to push and auto sync is on any help would be great. Thanks. Email is exchange btw

Try clearing your Email's app data. Re-enter your info and it should be fine.
Keep in mind that you need good signal in order for it to work well. Also, if your SIM is old/damaged, it can make it worst.

Notifications while stamina is "on"

Hi there.
I generally use to set STAMINA mode ON when i'm studying or working and don't want to receive notifications from whatsapp, gmail, facebook etc., but since kitkat and still now with lollipop, sometimes it happens that with stamina mode activated and phone locked I receive them, which means that those app are using internet connection and stamina it's not properly working.
Looking at the forum, i noticed that many people are having the same problem, so here's my question: could it be due to some wakelocks? In that case, blocking them could I avoid this situation?
