So I've been a lurker on XDA for a while, definitely a crucial resource for my couple of root/ROM experiences. This is first time I've not been able to solve my problem with the "Search" button....
I've got a Tab 3 10.1" (Wifi), and when I try to install Secure Settings Helper or, more accurately the new alternative installation, it doesn't detect Busybox, and asks if I want to install it from the store. I've tried following the link to install, even though I've already got it, no go. I've tried different versions of Busybox, no good, I've tried wiping caches, Dalvik, fresh install, 2 different ROMs (Grievous and Pimpdroid, up to date versions), still nothing. Other apps detect Busybox, but not Secure Settings. I'm fresh out of ideas, but I REALLY want Secure Settings, because it's one of the main reasons I root my devices. Has anyone had this problem? Or at least know what I should be looking for to fix this?
Case closed. Don't know how I fixed it, but it after a few more flashes, it just works...

Hi guys I rooted my desire using the live cd method, powered up my phone before installing a2sd and I could see all of my download history on the market with access to all apps. After this I booted into recovery using step2 on the live cd and installed A2SD. When I turned the phone on again all of the download history was gone and I can't see apps like Google Earth, National Rail etc.
I thought I did something wrong so I wiped the device and installed the rooted rom update again with a2sd at the same time. The problem still exists and nothing has changed.
Could you please help me because this is very annoying and I cant set up my phone the I want until this is resolved.
Very strange... Use Market enabler > http://market-enabler.googlecode.com/files/MarketEnabler_latest.html
install, apply new settings and reboot, problem solved
Thanks for the suggestion but the market enabler doesn't solve it, I tried it.
Another strange thing that I found is I have an .apk of CoPilot which I was using before rooting and when I tried installing it now it gives me an error "Application not installed".
I still haven't solved this problem and its really bugging me.
I un-rooted my phone and used a different google account with no luck. I still don't see some applications in the market.
Just to let you know I am in the UK using a generic sim free desire on 3 network. Could you please, please, please help me out. I am running out of options and I thought unrooting would fix it.
Weird issue you are describing. As far as I know it depends on the fingerprint of the build.prop in the ROM (and if Google added it to the white list(?)) or not.
Many people are using the rooted ROM (all the same build.prop) and they can access protected apps just fine. So probably the problem lies elsewhere.
I have a similar problem, before I rooted my device I could see all apps I bought in my g1 days. After I rooted first of all none showed up, after a day or so only a few showed up... rebooted a few more times (only ever flashed once using Windows with apps2sd) now I have a few I had before show up not all just a few and thats how its been since. weird. I had half results :/

Same problem here with one single application.
Had SlideIT paid version installed on stock firmware.
Once i rooted it gave me the message "application not installed" once i tried to install it.
Funny enough the SlideIT lite version is still able to install fine.
Definitely want it to work again, so i hope someone knows how to fix it
I tried a couple of different ROMs today and had this same problem, clicking My Downloads would just show a blank screen, and there was no "Top Paid Apps" tab. I tried unrooting, rerooting, nothing fixed it, until I found this;
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=1ea082d443f3d16c&hl=en
Pushing that xml file (note the spelling mistake before you do it) fixed it all back up, no idea what caused it to get all messed up and why it wasn't fixed by wiping and reflashing.

I tried to push the file via adb shell in windows and got permission denied. Am I doing it right or do I need to root the phone again to be able to push that file because I have reverted back to the generic stock rom?
Mine was rooted when I pushed it, try re-rooting it and pushing it again I guess.
I finally got around to re-rooting it and tried your solution with pushing that file but no change to my market
Just to be clear I can see the Top Paid apps tab, but I cant access copy protected apps like Google Earth.
Hey Guys,
I need your help. Long time ago I installed winamp 1.2.9 on my device but yesterday I've noticed that there is no shortcut listed to start the App.
So I tried to figure out why. I tried to install the apk file again but it fails telling Install not being successful.
I tried the newer version of Winamp on the Market but again install fails telling Not Compatible update!
I tried to locate the Winamp Files in System Folder an deleted them successfully. But again the same problem.
Tried to wipe cache and dalvik --> Boot loop
Is there a way to clean deinstall the App manually in order to re install the new version?
Using Kindle Stock ROm ver. 6.3.1 rooted
Thank you so much in advance

part of the problem may lie in the fact that your using rooted stock dunno? have you tried something like root uninstaller pro? to remove the app also I hate to say this to everyone as a fix sometimes it does work out for the better truthfully I have never see it not but you can flash modaco found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916 right over your existing system without wiping that might clear up any chances of permission issues as far as removing an app. As far as updating an app just because it shows available doesnt mean that it is for your device compatibility issues are usually that way for a reason maybe it doesnt like gingerbread?? but there is another option you could always just sideload it instead and see if it takes and functions correctly good luck
I have provided my dropbox link to you in a pm give it a shot doesn`t mean that the icon will show in your apps though
Hello!! i come to the best forum desperately looking for help after three days of weird behaviour, i had already rooted my galaxy tab 3 10.1 using a guide i found here on xda-developers months ago, i cant remember which one, it used Odin and custom recovery says BinDroid CWM-based recovery v6.0.2.8, it was successfully rooted, installed busybox 1.21.1 (stericsson) almost all root apps working fine, but some of them like network spoofer or dsploit telling that busybox was not installed correctly or some binary could not be found, im not a tech noob, but definitely new to android, so one day i tried installing them both in /system/xbin and /system/bin because some apps read from one directory or the other and the dual install would not be harmful for the device, also installed it symlinking with manual install, after i did that, those apps worked finally!! but, root checker said my device was not rooted anymore... so weird
So i tried rooting again over CWM, same method and still showing no root access, i decided then to make a full factory reset, after doing that, wifi is stuck on "obtaining ip address" avoided slow connection, it only connects when i set a static ip, some problem with dhcp i guess, and also, super user app is still there but showing no SU found and not able to uninstall the app, only shows the option, enable and disable, tired of this, i followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625805 with both ROMs in order to go back to stock, both installed just fine, but i saw "installing busybox" during the process, is that suposed to happen with a stock rom? i mean the first one on the thread suposed to be the stock one, and the second rom is not showing root access on root checker either, even though the author says it is rooted ... at least super user app is no longer there, but both ROMs still stuck on "obtaining ip" bucle, and now it got worse, most apps downloaded are not working, chrome for example opens for a second and closes, other apps open, but only show a black screen and the notification bar, i uploaded the root.zip i used for rooting in first place, please tell me if there is something left to do to fix this, anything, i would really apreciate it!!
Apologize my bad english and my ignorance on android... thanks for reading and all help in advance!!

Hey guys,
I've done some searching around on this issue, and it looks like Snapchat is not allowing me to login as my device is rooted. However, I had the factory OxygenOS ROM (rooted as well) installed before and never had this issue. Now that I have installed Sultanxda's "Unofficial CyanogenMod 13.0 with custom kernel", I can no longer get Snapchat to login. Like I said, from the searching that I've done it look like it is root related, so I went into SuperSU and did a complete unroot. This still hasn't solved the issue yet, so now I'm stuck and not sure what to do. Is there something I'm missing or is there a way to solve this without having to reflash a different ROM and loose all the time spent setting this one up?
Thanks for the help!

Hi, the searching can be useful sometimes
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/5476?query=snapchat
You need an fully unrooted rom to login into snapchat, after that you can flash supersu.

Ah, looks like I just didn't search enough. This seems to have done the trick, thanks!
I think you just need to uninstall Xposed Framework for Snapchat to login and then after login you can install Xposed again.
This sounds weird but what worked for me was to download superkiwi via xposed installer, it's supposed to bypass root detection for banking apps in New Zealand but works with snapchat [emoji14]
I found this workaround in a thread somewhere and thought that it wouldn't hurt to try but actually works mighty fine!

Leaving this here in the hopes it helps someone else, took me a bit to find the correct steps.
Currently running the last official CM 13 build for the Droid Turbo (will be moving to LOS soon), rooted with SuperSU Pro, Xposed framework v87, on the newest TWRP.
Nothing worked, not Xposed Switch, Root Switch, nothing. In fact I had to reinstall Xposed Switch to be able to turn root back on, while Root Switch simply uninstalled the SuperSU binary, I had to reflash it. Finally I put it all together and in the following order I got Snapchat to work.
Make sure any OS root (my case CMroot) was turned off.
Download the correct version of Xposed framework Installer, Xposed Uninstaller, and the SuperSU binary (all flashable zip files) for your device to a location on your system that you can easily access from recovery. For me its my TWRP folder.
Uninstall Snapchat. Open a File Explorer and delete the entire Snapchat folder left over.
Select the uninstall "permanently unroot" option from SuperSU, but DON'T let it install the original... Whatever it is, the name escapes me. But don't let it!
Phone will reboot automatically after taking out root, boot to recovery, run Xposed Uninstaller, wipe Cache & Dalvik, reboot phone.
When the phone boots, confirm it is unrooted and Xposed Framework is uninstalled. A root checker app and opening the Xposed App worked for me here.
Install Snapchat, sign into Snapchat. It will accept your login if you did everything correctly.
*This step I did to save myself work in the future, but you can do it later. Turned on CMroot and took a TiBackup of logged in Snapchat in case I ever have to login again, I can just reload the data.*
Boot to recovery. Flash the Xposed framework and the SuperSU binary (in that order), wipe Cache and Dalvik, reboot system.
Open Snapchat to confirm its still logged in. If so grab a TiBack of it for use as needed later.
I hope this helps!

Just bought a demo tablet from work and have had problems trying to get the retail demo app removed 'Liszt'
I have managed to disable the app, however this only works temporarily, as soon as you restart the tablet you have to go through the whole process of disabling again.
I have tried factory reset.
I have tried Kingo Root through a computer, it said it had succeeded however did not install SuperSu so obviously did not root properly. I have tried installing SuperSu through google play store however whenever you go into it it just comes up with 'SU Binary Occupied' so something obviously isn't correct.
I have installed 'System App Remover (ROOT)' an when opening the app it seems to think that it has rooting capabilities however when trying to uninstall Liszt it just says that it has failed.
I am pulling my hair out here trying to get this sorted and every tutorial or online info on this tablet is outdated and has links that just go absolutely nowhere, so please do not just send me to another thread where all the information and files are just non existent as you just cant follow it.
Anyone out there with previous experience in either rooting this tablet or removing 'Liszt' let me know what options I have.
Thanks in advance!
