Hey guys! Its been a while since I've rooted a phone (HTC Inspire 4G) but last night I rooted my S3. Today I was checking storage and it says I have 2.62GB left on my internal SD card. I run the numbers on apps, downloads, etc. and it just doesn't add up to using 9GBs of space. I'm running LiquidSmooth with gapps (which downloaded my previous apps from stock via my account). Can someone help me out with this? Even if I have to completely wipe the storage space to get the room back, I'm fine with that. I just don't like not having space especially when there should be way more since there are no pictures or music on the phone. Thanks everyone and its good to be back flashing!

I'm also running into an issue finding flashable .zips that are in my /download folder in Astro but not found when using CWM. Weird...
*Edit*
Disregard not being to find them... Apparently I have a separate folder labeled /sdcard/0 that I have no idea how it was made... Is there a .exe to full wipe/format my sdcard so I can start with a clean slate and then simply restore my current ROM/Kernel? Factory reset, format system, wiping cache and dalvik cache then restoring backup isn't working.

It is now that I reported it for being in the wrong section and a mod moved it.
Think before you post.
Anyways, the internal SD card is always going to have much less space then as advertised on the phone. My phone is a 16GB and out of the box I think it had like 13 or so.
You can install TWRP from Goo Manager and use that recovery to make a backup, format your internal storage, then restore data from a backup if you really think you're missing space, but honestly you probably arent.
Thank you for noticing that it was in the wrong forum Tekno.... And for getting that fixed. I understand I have less than advertised but before I rooted it, I backed up all the pictures onto my computer. My phone has no pictures or music on it so I'm trying to figure out where 10GBs have gone.
I will look up TWRP and hopefully that will help...

Well if you've already backed up that you may as well just backup your contacts and anything else you may need and start clean. And by that I mean do a full wipe before flashing a ROM and don't restore data after.

Well, I'm a little too late for all of that now. I soft bricked the phone. Using CWM, I managed to erase everything from the sdcard. All files, all folders, everything. Now when the phone boots it hangs at the "Samsung Galaxy S III" screen. I can, however, get into Download Mode and Recovery Mode. Unfortunately for me though, I do not have the stock ROM .tar and cannot download it due to workstation restrictions. I can also get to Recovery Mode but I have absolutely no files on the sdcard at all and I can't figure out a way to force push LiquidSmooth onto the phone. I receive recognition of connection via ODIN but that program only uses .tar/.gz/.img/etc. and I can't put the LiquidSmooth .zip on that way. Hopefully someone can bring me a copy of the Stock ROM in to work tomorrow as I'm on duty and won't be able to leave work for a while (days).
Oh, it's been a while since I've bricked a phone also. Those days I don't miss...
Are there any other options that I may not have exhausted?

Well heres a few things you can try:
1) ADB to push the rom to the phone
2) Use a proxy service to download original firmware (not sure if your workplace would like that though), Heres a link to the stock ATT firmware, not rooted, pure stock from sammobile http://www.hotfile.com/dl/182319352/b8d55a6/I747UCDLK3_I747ATTDLK3_ATT.zip.html
3) Ask to borrow a co-workers phone to download the file
Thanks Tekno. Finally back online...

No I have not tried that, will do it tonight when I can get my hands on the phone.
Well the infamous wipes were a no go also....so I wiped everything once again did a fresh install of the PAC man ROM by jay dub and it wasn't on there so I'm wondering if it has something to do with the touchwiz ROM Idk to be honest tho it really confuses me on why no one else is having the issue it was on my wife's phone that I was having the issue on so I'm going to try and reproduce the issue on my phone later

I actually called Samsung about it and they said it needs to be professionally reflashed by them which is stupid cuz I just got my phone back after they had it for 4 weeks he said its a software issue

flashed multiple Roms on this, the only way i can get rid of the info on screen is by going back to 4.0.4. has anyone come to figure out where this is coming from?
Little late
Okay so i know its late but if anyones feels the need to go back to stock heres the fix:
-Have root access
-Use titanium backup to find Systeminfo 4.1.2
-Clearing data will remove that
-You should only need to do this every boot
Not sure if you can remove this program, but that would eliminate the problem

I know its an old thread, but i am wondering if any one can shed some light as to why this system info screen appears, i was able to get rid of it by just deleting the file from titanium backup, no visible problems what so ever , data, phone, mms, every thing works as it should.
Just wondering why it popped up after odin back to stock..
Also I've read a few other samsung forums, and they relate this info screen to either; permanent safe mode due to imei faking, or corrupted efs drive/partition or some what.
Fyi, with the imei faking there would be no data/cellular services.
So I'm going with that something might be wrong with my efs? Maybe?
I had the same issue. I fixed it by restoring efs from a TRWP efs backup.
When I had this system screen show up it also flashed below it on startup that factory mode was on. If you go to youtube and search "Samsung Galaxy S4 : How to Get out of Factory Mode" it may help those without a efs backup
Hello everyone,
I recently flashed a custom ROM via CWM recovery. The ROM is Rootbox (thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2083922). I followed all the instructions given on the thread like Wiping data/factory resetting through CWM but I still am experiencing problems.
Okay so, I flashed gapps also and ROM worked smoothly and no problem at all. When I connected my mobile to laptop then I saw 5gb free of 12gb only. Obviously, ROM can't take space up to 5gb and when I had previous ROM, it had 5gb free at that time and yes, I did wipe data/factory reset. I can't find any files that were in my previous ROM in this Rootbox ROM even when connected to my laptop but when I went to recovery and tried installing a zip from CWM then I saw my files there that I had in my previous ROM but I can't say that if they were only folders or if they had actual files in it because I can't see .mp3 files or pictures via CWM. Please help me, I don't wanna revert back to stock.
Thank you!

Chances are you've fallen into the /0 folder trap...
Google added this with the the aosp builds for user switching. Not wiping properly can make these folders replicate and take up loads of space.
Whenever I flash a new rom I always wipe my internal sd. Prevents multiple files getting out of hand and it's great to have a fresh start.
Go here and read step 5a

So i decided to go from illusion to stockaroma v2 and once i got the phone setup it said i was running low on storage space so later on i rebooted my phone and i got android.phone has crashed blabla
Upon rebooting it kept crashing and crashing so i decided to wipe and reflash stockaroma but funny thing is everytime id wipe and start over I'd get same settings apps and stuff already preloaded as if cwm wasnt even wiping i tried couple times reflashing the rom didnt work..
So i decided to restore my backup now when i went ahead to do that o couldn't because it was saying there is no files ? And i flashed a rom i had on my sdcard but even tho i wiped i got some stuff preloaded which is not normal ? And now i got like 7 times the same directory it looks like this : sdcard/emulated/0/0/0/0 ??
Everything is messed up and down i do not want to go through odin since i have a damn slow computer which shutdowns by its own now imagine me flashing and it crashes...
So my question is how may i restore my backup ? I have like many "0" directory just not sure which one to delete as each contains different file ??
Please help me out im not a noob but this is the first time ive seen this

Sorry but Odin seems to be your best bet or go buy an external sdcard and reader (as I've advertised on all forums before). This is also why we say to update your recovery to the latest one constantly, in many threads and most OP posts of most roms. Good luck. Also always having a backup of all your contemts on memory is recommended before messing with flashing ROMs. Live and learn.

Funny thing is in 4 years never been through anything similar you're telling me live and learn like i probably never read anything before flashing which is not the case i am always careful....
My guess is i ran out of storage space and maybe thats why there was so many /0 folders now that i cleaned some junk im all set up back and running just was wondering what happened and i had the latest cwm touch recovery so i don't know how should i upgrade my recovery if an update isn't out?

I say live and learn cause you didn't have thing backed up like you should and you made a mistake. I've yet to see anyone have duplicate /0 for that reason and I'm pretty sure that wasn't the cause. Its cause you weren't on the latest or even up to date to handle 4.2.2. I never said you weren't careful but in lots of the threads including illusion my post and Ramsay's, I think, says make sure you have updated your recovery and backup your sdcard contents. Just saying and its a friendly heads up, also advised you on external sdcard. No need to be defensive, just giving pointers and helping, bud.

In TWRP there's an option to only wipe internal sd if you want to try that.
Or maybe if you Odin the stock firmware it'll kill the symlink or whatever is holding it there. Then try to delete.
Or factory reset?

Ah ok. Yeah thats in Titanium. Batch>Restore>Data from Nandroid, then you should be able to select the specific data/apps you want.
I tried beanstalk, which didn't work at first, then I went to lifeless and from lifeless to beanstalk, which is awesome, but as soon as I rebooted it told me I was low on space. I checked and, sure enough, it says I have a 25 gb sd instead of 32? I restored my stock rom (I had to delete a video first, because I guess there wasn't enough space to restore data), but it still says I have 25g available. Has anyone else had this? I'm sure I will have to format my sd to fix it, I'm just curious what I did to cause it. I've never heard of flashing a rom formatting an sd before...
