The mod works for sure but made the volumes way too loud....First time the phone rang the speaker was crackling like crazy and the volume settings were all low across the board.....Had to restore to previous settings.
Thnx though....I always appreciate trying new stuff...:good::good:

Where did this file edit originate? Did you edit it yourself?
Running diff against the stock file I see many edits where the loudness is actually decreased, many entries are removed... If you made these changes, can you provide the logic behind them?

you'll need to be rooted, and use an app like Root Explorer, or any app that has a file manager that can access system level. go to System>App> and find two files, one is SamsungCamera.API and SamsungCamera.odex either change the name of both of these files (eg: SamsungCameraOLD.API and. odex) or delete them, either way SamsungCamera.API and SamsungCamera.odex should not exist anymore. now that you've done that, use that root file manger to place his hacked SamsungCamera.apk and place it in the same folder (System>App>). then restart your phone.
note* you may need to mount your R/W card, you can simply do that by the giant button at the top of Root Explorer.

If you're on a deodexed rom, then you won't have those files. Just reboot after dropping the apk in there, make sure your permissions are correct, and you'll be good to go.
What are the correct permissions? I tried flashing the zip through CWM but no go. I'm on a deodexed Rom also tried dropping the Samungcamera.apk file into system/app...
Thanks
I hear there was a camera mod that made shooting videos a much higher quality but it only worked for the international version of the GSlll. Perhaps doing it for this would be possible at a later date?

I am actually working on the higher bit-rates also. I have a few versions right now, in testing, the only issue I am running into right now is that when you use the power button for the shutter, it also triggers the power menu. It still takes the picture and all, but its an annoyance.
Has the video recorder always had that click-click sound whenever the ringer volume is on?? That's really annoying. I thought shutter sound in the camera controlled both.

CWM and TWRP installs are interchangeable in most, if not all cases. Definitely when you're talking about a simple script like this one.

download the file. put it into the /data directory. open with root explorer or something that has a text editor. change the us cellular text to whatever you want it to say. change the two digital roaming texts to whatever you want it to say when roaming. save. reboot. should be set. make sure permissions are set to at least rw-r--r--.

actually i think thats the wrong "data" directory...the 1 in the android folder is /sdcard/android/data....i think the person who supplied this meant it should go in to /data...you need a file explorer that goes "up to root"...so if im correct you should only see "/data" and put this file there...could the person who posted the file please verify..sounds like someone is gonna break something...thanks

if the eri.xml file didn't work there's a couple different ways you can do it.

MMS screen off when receiving a text. BOUNTY stock apk included

Hello. I really hate that my screen turns on when receiving a text. If someone can mod this attached Verizon stock MMS apk I would gladly donate $10. Wish I could donate more. Good luck and hope it can be done. Probably can't be done with our Verizon luck
It I'm not mistaken it can be done with Wanam
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
unfortunately it cannot. The settings don't stick for this mod on wanam
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.probcomp.smsnotifier
I know it is not a fix for the stock app but I use that for a pop up cause I really like that feature from AOSP roms. With that popup you can choose to have the screen turn on or not.
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
Thanks for the input but I was really wanting stock.
There's one in the t-mobile section but I'm not sure if it would work for us.
Sent from my VZW Galaxy Note 3
Ours unfortunately is different
We had that issue with the Note 2 initially too ...a work around (that worked on the Note 2) is an app in the Play Store ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.everythingandroid.smspopup ) - it allows you to keep screen off. I use a 3rd party texting app so I haven't had this issue.
Good luck!
Thanks but I really prefer the stock app with screen off.

i make no promises that this will be perfect, so make a backup of your files.
this being said, here is the zip.
in a root explorer, copy both files inside the zip.
paste them into the system folder.
set correct permissions (rw-r-r)
reboot. :fingers-crossed:
if it worked correctly, in your settings menu of the mms you should have a new option now to toggle screen off

Blacked out stock Dialer and SMS app!

**THIS IS NOT MY WORK... SIMPLY PULLED FROM INTERNATIONAL ROM!!!!**
Install Instructions:
1. Go into a root explorer to system/priv-app
2. Find "SecMms_Blue.apk" and "SecContacts_Phone_FLAGSHIP_USA.apk" and add ".bak" to both of them
3. Now copy and paste the ones you just downloaded into system/priv-app
4. Rename BOTH of the apk's to what they are supposed to be named (ex: SecContacts.apk should be SecContacts_Phone_FLAGSHIP_USA.apk)
5. Set permissions to RW-R-R for both.
6. Reboot and enjoy!
Made a flashable! My first one ever made, lemme know if it works! Please still do step one & two!

I pushed both to priv-app and renamed the contacts that you have to match the original. Set permissions and rebooted and all is well. I dont know if it matters but the SecContacts_Phone_FLAGSHIP_USA that you have is only named SecContacts. But all seems to be working well here.

You need to read step by step bc the name of SecContacts does matter. Try my flashable out lemme know if it works!

If I change the name of your contacts back to what you had I get fc. So I agree that it matters but its working fine with it renamed.

Well if you fully read (specifically step 4) it says the names of the apk's matter.... "4. Rename BOTH of the apk's to what they are supposed to be named (ex: SecContacts.apk should be SecContacts_Phone_FLAGSHIP_USA.apk)"
Please if someone flashes it and is successful or unsuccessful PLEASE let me know!
@Joe0113. It's working here.
