Any screen shot?
And will the file work in an att device note 2?
Askin for someone on StraightTalk which shows HOME as the carrier

download the file. put it into the /data directory. open with root explorer or something that has a text editor. change the us cellular text to whatever you want it to say. change the two digital roaming texts to whatever you want it to say when roaming. save. reboot. should be set. make sure permissions are set to at least rw-r--r--.

actually i think thats the wrong "data" directory...the 1 in the android folder is /sdcard/android/data....i think the person who supplied this meant it should go in to /data...you need a file explorer that goes "up to root"...so if im correct you should only see "/data" and put this file there...could the person who posted the file please verify..sounds like someone is gonna break something...thanks

if the eri.xml file didn't work there's a couple different ways you can do it.

I seem to either be one of the very few that wants the NASCAR app on my phone or just not be able to find out how to get it.
I recently got SyndicateROM Frozen working on my phone and the only stock app that I would like back is the NASCAR one. I've tried downloading the .apk file and installing it but I keep getting an error saying NASCAR is only available for Sprint and Nextel users. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
if you want that app try looking into one of the stock roms zip files and pulling that app out of it and placing it onto the sdcard on your phone and then install using my file or astro
Exactly just search for the apk and install it with astro or root explorer. A good.place to look is in a stock rom file under system/app
Sent From My Evo Killer!
Hmm... I did something simular to that last night and got it installed, but it is still telling me that it is only for Sprint or Nextel users and won't let me run it on the rooted phone.
Had similar issue on moment
A lot of the custom roms change the carrier name to the name of there rom instead of sprint. So the program thinks you are on another carrier other then sprint, in order to fix that you need to change the carrier name back to sprint. I think it was in the frameworkres file if i can remember correctly.

That coule be a good possibility as well. I guess I would have to do a trial and error with that seeing as I cannot post anything in the op for the rom yet.
Though there isn't that many files in the in the frameworks folder but none of them named Syndicate or somehting simular to know what to change.

Thank you.

I'm probably doing it wrong or something but I get that file open but do not see a folder names values. I see one name res but not a values inside of that folder. I found that post you were talking about and there was a guy on there that you said was needing to do the same thing I'm wanting to do but he also didn't reply with a follow up on it which didn't help. it's set that way for ALL phones/carriers on gtalk. the only way to remove the restriction is to edit the android.gsf file in sqlite, but as far as i've searched the normal files to edit aren't on our SGS3.

I was able to do it on my HTC thunderbolt over 4g with verizon. Maybe because I was rooted, and someone edited the android.gsf file?
The files are there. I used root explorer to browse to the files then sqlite in order to edit 1 entry once edited your are golden.
Path: /data/data/com.android.gsf/gservices.db
In that file open the main table and edit gtalk_vc_wifi_only to false and then reboot

Does anyone know if gtalk_vc_wifi_only is in a different location on Verizon phones?
When I filter for gtalk in com.google.android.gsf > gservices.db > main
I have about twenty records come up, but nothing resembling the wifi only setting.
This is great information. Thanks!
However, if I'm on mobile data and I'm trying video chatting with someone who is on their PC, it starts but then ends shortly after that and my friend's PC displays an error in their talk window that says there was a "problem with our servers". It happens on Chrome and IE. On my phone, it says that they ended the chat. On the other hand, if I'm on wifi, it works fine. Has anybody run into this problem?

I can't find the thread but here is what you have to do.
Using root explorer ( or similar program), navigate to /system and set folder to writable. Open ur build.prop with text editor and add the following line:
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval= (enter desired time in seconds here)
Then save and reboot.
I think the default is like 120 or something. I am not sure on JB but the line isn't there like it used to be. On the OG epic, the line was there and my value was modified to 300.
I would suggest backing up your build.prop before modifying. I am still new to the sgs3 so I am making an assumption this will work for you.

Hello,I haven't posted much mods for a while figured I'd share some cool tweaks for your stock Samsung mms.apk Am currently using clean Rom 4.1.2
All Codes are entered in SYSTEM/CSC/feature.xml
Copy the full code of which ever ones you want within the text folder (download link) and paste it under the (message) part in your actual feature.xml file within system/csc
FEATURE.XML TWEAKS http://www.mediafire.com/?1trsan38b8ch516
Here's one screenshot of the contact pictures eliminated with one tweak.
Another Screenshot
FOR EXAMPLE:
"Will Eliminate the contact pictures in stock mms app"
<CscFeature_Message_DisableContactThumbnailInMsgList>true<CscFeature_Message_DisableContactThumbnailInMsgList>
"Will let you see a picture text in one page view instead of the "slide show" method"
<CscFeature_Message_EnableMmsOnePageViewer>true</CscFeature_Message_EnableMmsOnePageViewer>
