Today I noticed a new thng on my xperia s
Wen I placed my fone on bright sunlight the brightness automatically increased and wen I covered the sensor it was back to normal

there is no option to check and uncheck in the settings regarding auto brightness, but i guess our phone has the sensor and its always on.i noticed it while playing fifa 14 and sometimes its trouble to see screen flicker, moving my hand i wanna switch it off temporarily
Ah yes I almost forgot there is no option to toggle autobrightness in the stock fw.
Also its activated only when the brightness is set over 25%.

Nope, i never set brightness to max but still it never worked.
Go to call keyboard and type *#*#7378423#*#*
And then in service testing, test your autobrigtnes.

I keep noticing that my brightness is always set higher than where it is supposed to be.
I will lower it to about 1/4 brightness and by the end of the day I notice its at 3/4 brightness all on its own... auto brightness is off and power saving is off
What gives? Anyone else notice this?

Yep. I have he same issue. It has a problem staying where I set it. Especially when I set it to 0% do you use an app to set your level or do you go into settings to do it? I usually use quick settings.

I go into display settings...I don't use an app to set it

I think I figured it out...at the bottom of the display settings is a box that says auto adjust lcd power or something.. I had it checked I just unchecked it...will report back if it fixes the problem...I'm thinking it will

This is probably why.
Yeah. I typically have mine set at the lowest yet somehow it will change itself on its own.

Anyone know how I would stop the screen dimming when watching an embedded flash video in full screen on a website? Annoying me a bit.

Make sure that you don't have Auto Brightness ticked √ go into Setting>Display and unticked auto brightness
secondly set screen Time out to 10 minutes. It will solve your problem.
or try this app

Yeah I never use auto brightness, and setting it to 10 minutes is just out of the question. My GB rom recognized when a flash video was being played and didn't timeout/dim. Oh well :-(

Hi, can you explain a bit more ?
I already checked the autobrightness is off, an the same for powersaving :crying:
In display there is an option of screen mode.

I'm having problems with mine, my auto brightness has started to become sporadic in the last month. I always use mine auto with it set at 50% never had an issue before, it would change as per light conditions, I then would untick auto and get 100% brightness.
Well lately the auto brightness doesn't seem to want to change it just stays at same brightness even if I am in direct sunlight etc, I then have to put it to 100% just so I can see the screen.
Anyone else having same issue?

Hi, I did not see this "screen mode" item before, it seems the problem is gone by choosing the "dynamic" option !
Thank you very much
Bye
Nico

Go into lux Settings > Advanced > Debug Sensors. Make sure they are reading proper values. Out of the box lowest sensor should read 90

It's always 90 .. lol
The app misbehave when I'm using it , even the screen acts funny ..
It shouldn't always be 90. Move it in and out of light. See if it changes
