You experience numbering cwm but not useful
Try downloading latest recovery i.e pawitp's CWM 6.0.4.5

That doesn't look like a recovery problem, the recovery was able to start the flashing process but there was a problem with the zip file you are trying to flash that's why it said "(bad)".
Either the zip you are trying to flash is not correctly signed or supported by the recovery, or the zip itself is corrupted or was not made correctly.
There might be a problem with the updater script of the zip.

Hi,
I' am trying to restore CWM from TWRP using Marcusant's zip file but TWRP does not allow the zip to be flashed and gives out a "unknown md5 error" message. I' am getting this message for every flashable file of mine (each of these have worked without any problem with cwm before) and I' am unable to flash any other Rom after flashing MIUI rom...wana get out of it and continue flashing other roms...
I cannot post into Marcusant's thread as my "10 posts" goal is yet to be reached ! Can someone help ?
Thanks

You could try flashing CWM using Odin. Also, questions go in the Q&A forum.
Post two more times in this thread and you'll be able to tell Marcus about it in his thread

If you've flashed twrp and are on Mtd you cannot just Odin in cwm again. You must flash the restore .zip

Don't do this... if your on mtd, which you are if your using twrp you can't odin in any recovery... you either have to odin to complete stock or hope the restore.zip ends up working... or a kernel flash works....

Gonna have to odin back to stock and start over. Everything you need can be found in the sticky in development how to unbrick... (while its not a brick, this is the method you need)

Ah, yea that's right. I usually just Odin back to stock anytime I have an issue with hardware or the recovery partition. Starting over from a fresh odin is always nice in my eyes.

Hi all,
I am new to android as my personal device, but I am familiar with the OS. I am pretty tech-savvy. However, I just rooted my I-747, and no matter how hard I try I cannot flash custom roms through CWM. Keep in mind both ROMS I have tried are CM9 and 10, 10 ending in a status 7 error. 9 might have as well, but I am not sure. I just know that it was aborted. Any help here, I am not sure what is going on? Any advice would be appreciated.
Are you using the correct CWM recovery? I am downloaded rom manager and installed cwm from there, have had no issues with installing either of those roms. Don't forget to do your wipes before you install a new rom!
Hmmm that may be the issue. I rooted without tripping the flash counter and then had to use adb to get cwm working. Is there a way to uninstall it and reinstall it from Rom manager?

You can always try TWRP out as well.
Just push it to the phone via ADB or use a terminal app on the phone.
I like it more than CWM. :good:

Hey codycorexxx.... quick question on that. I have twrp as well...might sound silly...will it restore a CWM backup? I made a copy of my nanorid backup to the twrp folder. It shows up under the restore option when IN that recovery...just wanting to make sure should I need to use that backup....twrp won't have a problem flashing it.

No, ROM Manager is an app, while CWM is a recovery.
You can install the app called ROM Manager and within it you'll find the option to flash the latest CWM recovery.

All it takes to install cwm is a simple dd command with root access. This is what ROM manager does for you. Or you can install it manually using terminal editor

Yup, it's not there.
Problem with recovery being able to mount the partitions.
It won't mount anything, data, system, cache, internal or external sdcards
I've read post from a handful of people who, like myself, have gotten their phone very recently. All experiencing the same problem.
I've gotten root by flashing a stock rom thru ODIN with it already installed but I'm dying for my Vanilla Android, touchwiz is making me sick :crying:

There are some pre-rooted stock roms you can flash in Odin but that doesn't fix recovery. So if you can live with Touchwiz I'd check those out.

I am also having a problem with all CWM versions I've tried on my two 3-day old Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 phones. It doesn't matter which recovery (or version) I flash, nothing mounts so you cannot see the internal or external SD, cannot flash anything, cannot wipe anything, etc. This seems to be a problem with very new S3's with all custom recoveries.
