Hey All,
I recently purchase an aluminium bumper for my white nexus 5. Here's quick quick review
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-CHAO-...t=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item1c3b6ff83c
Pros:
-Slim! This thing fits really nice in the hand
-Looks sexy and High Quality feel (solid).
-All the corners are well covered ( what I really look for in a bumper.) On the inside has thin rubber lining to prevent phone from scratching.
-Has a lip that would raise the screen a little bit if you place your phone face down.
-You can take out the sim tray w/o taking the whole case off.
-Comes with extra screws + tool.
Cons:
-Signal strength is slightly weaker. I don't have time to run numbers but I do notice gps takes a sec or two longer to lock and 1-2 bars drop in some areas.
-All the ports are nicely cut except for the headphone jack. It can be tight on some bigger plugs or doesn't fit at all.
-Screws, This case requires a tiny phillip to take off the two screws that holds the case together as shown in picture.
-Doesn't protect the back/camera, due to nexus 5 being curved out.
Conclusion:
Overall, I really like it despite the signal drop in some areas. This thing is sexy and minimal.

Cons:
1) Too smooth. If you've dropped phones in the past, don't get it - you WILL drop it. I had a couple of close calls, and this is the first time I had to worry about it.
2) Sharp edges. They are pretty sharp and are very uncomfortable to hold. If you care about handling the phone, don't get it.
Pros:
1) Form factor - absolutely amazing. Adds no more than 2mm on bottom, sides. Doesn't add any heft on the top at all. Pretty much looks like a naked Evo. Easy to put on and remove.
2) Protects the camera lens much more than some other cases (Sprint silicone and Body Glove cases) - small camera hole plus raised edge.
3) Looks very nice.
Bottom line - if you want to impress friends, get it. If you don't care about that, get a bigger, sturdier, easy to handle case, like the other two I mentioned.
Hey guys,
I just got my hybrid case from deal day link
described as
* Form-fitting cover protects the back and sides of your Vibrant without adding bulk
* 1-piece hard plastic & aluminum cover with a stunning machined circular pattern
* Cover does not affect phone reception
* Allows access to all Samung Vibrant functions
* Interior smooth and glossy finish
* Compatible with Samsung Vibrant T959

The machining is just on the back of the case. This gives it a really nice and grippy texture, kind of reminds me of the texture of plastic holograms cards. I wish this texture was continued onto the sides. The side are glossy plastic and a bit slippery but better than with nothing on.
The case fits like a glove, maybe too well, it's kind of a PITA to take off.
It has minimal front protection, there are four release clips (two each side to help take the case off the phone) that protrude past the screen but I would not count on them if you dropped your phone.
All in all this is a very nice case. Its not really going to give much protection. But does give the phone some bulk while keeping the phone thin. It does give a lot more grip compare to the OEM battery cover. I prefer this case to my TPU case and my hard plastic case.
My OEM case is sanded from a plasti-dip experiment.
EDIT: Severe GPS signal loss.
GPS accuracy is severly impacted.
Without case 7/11 30ft accuracy SNR 27-35 Constant lock
With case 4/11 80ft accuracy SNR 15-22. Intermittent lock
Thanks for the review. Daydeal pics of it looked alright, I kinda liked it. Seeing your pics (and reading about GPS loss of signal) and it looks like crap. :\
don't think my pics do it justice. It actually looks quite nice. Regardless, it's not worth a damn due to the GPS issues.
I rcvd my hybrid metal case today. It is quite sleek, and gives some bit fo weight to the phone - a nice feel to the textured back as well.
I haven't tried GPS yet, but mine has been garbage from day one, so I'm not too owrried.
I switch between cases often enough, so this is just one more for the pile.

Ok, tried GPS, and didn't see a difference.
Locking 7/12, 25-35ft accuracy with or without case, on an overcast day in the central valery.

ACCESSIBILITY AND STYLE :
The case is classic black in color, which some people may find boring, where as I just love the simple bold look, it looks very sturdy and strong. It does add some bulk to the phone but for me it wasn’t a deal breaker. The Earpiece,Sensors and front facing Camera are protected with hard plastic edges which are very classy and look stunning. The Volume keys are also fully protected ,as is the Power key on the right side..
At the top , the noise cancelling mic is open and the Headphone jack covered by a small pull-able cover, what is great about this is there is a very hard plastic edge around the Jack port.As with the Top the Bottom is also well protected namely the Micro USB Charging port. The S-Pen is fully open giving great ease of use when pulling out the S-Pen. There is separate openings for Microphone and rear speaker.
One word to describe this case would be: DEFENDER!

I was fortunate enough to find this case lying around the workplace.
The boss-man said I could have it!
Saved myself $60!
Ouch... feels like having 2 notes inside my pocket, lack of close-up pictures in details
Too bulky for a already large phone... and too expensive.. there is better protection for less out there... IMHO

Yes its big, but I'd worked out what size it would be before buying the phone or case. Get a ruler, make a cardboard mock up.
I actually had the case before the phone and it went straight into it on arrival. Working outdoors a lot and having had old candy bar type phones often take a tumble to the ground, I wanted my new phone properly protected.
Having used the phone and case for 6 months, its only tumbled out of pocket once, when not actually clipped in. I typically use the hard beltclip cover, in top pocket of work shirt, with the clip opened over the shirt button. This prevents it riding deeper in the pocket, but the button provides something for the clip to grab, so if during contortions outside, the phone flips out of pocket, it remains clipped to the pocket. Additionally when using the belt clip cover, the silicon shell faces the body, so it seems very unlikely perspiration would find its way into the phone, which seems to be an issue with some phones and their usb/headphone ports (covered with defender)
It seems it would also be quite secure if deeper in the pocket without the belt clip cover, the silicon case grabs the pocket well, although in this position the button is exposed to body moisture (if theres no stock seal around that)
What I did NOT like about the case was the built in screen protector, like all matte finish protectors I have seen, it blurs the pixels giving a fuzzy effect to the display.
I carefully removed the built in protector, pushing around with thumb in warm weather worked, and replaced it with a Spigen glas.t, tempered glass protector. The glas.t is about 0.5mm thick, there is room for it within the defender case. I suspect the tempered glass/silicon adhesive would do a good job of spreading the energy from a sharp impact, performing much like a laminated car windscreen which tend to keep most impact chips in the outer glass layer.
I have the full protection of the defender case, and full visual clarity of the screen. Win/Win
I also do not have to worry about the possibility of dust, grit etc working its way into the case and being held against the screen. This may not happen, I didn't leave it original long enough, but certainly seemed it would be likely in the environments I work in.
Hope this helps someone
Its big, bulky, but is worth it! Own one myself. Its worth the tradeoff for protection of an expensive toy
Well i have this case for over 2 months and i can say that its trully worth the money! The extra protection is awesome as well is the design and grip! However it has 2 downsides IMHO.
1st you have to open it and clean it once per 15 days and believe me at first it's a pain in the ass to open it and you re gonna break some nails .
2nd some areas far on the top on the screen need to be pressed harder i.e. it takes some time to get used to taking down the Notification Center the first days.
Hope this helps!
Hello,
yesterday i bough Grip Sheer Mate Black from Belkin.
Belkin has good reputation in world of accessories. It produces cases and accessories for IPhones, so i thought "why not to try it".
I have always been using cheap tpu cases from ebay for my Htc Desire S. Buttons were either unaccessible or really hard to press.
But the One is so beatiful, that i don't want to cover it up in bulky case. Actually i'm not afraid of destroying my phone, rather damaging camera lens when placing phone on the table and hard surfaces.
I gave it a chance.
The price for grip sheer matte is 15 €.
The color - is actually not solid black, rather transparent black. Or "smoked" black. Putting it on your phone produces interesting brownish color. I like it.
The case is very minimalistic. Although you have case on your phone, you still can see and feel, that it's The One.
Cutouts are very precise. Even part over volume rocker. If you ever had any problem trying to "find" volume rocker during phone call, it's past with this case.
There is cutout for powerbutton on the top, so you don't loose ability to use your device like remote control or whatever.
The case creates about 0,5 mm lip, which is probably enough to lift your screen enough from the table (if the lip were on the whole device, continue reading). Actually i think there's no reason putting One display downwards, as it has speakers on top, and is hella' loud.
But there are some BUTs {read cons):
Although the case creates nice lip on the side and covers fragile sides of display, this isn't true about top and bottom of the phone. It seems, that the case is very slightly smaller, than it should be. After aplying very slight pressure on top or bottom, the lip comes off and the phone gets naked.
Another con: although the case fitted pretty snug after first application, it became loose. As i was trying to put it off and on couple of times to fit better (about 10 times), it became loose and started to move slightly.
According to dimension imperfections is microusb cutout a bit deformed. The same applies for top. Thin part comes "in way" of pushing power button. It takes some practice and then is no problem anymore.
Anyway, it server the purpose, why i bought it - to protect lens and basic shock absorbtion when i "throw" my phone in shelf under the fm radion in car.
What makes me sad is pricetag 15 € for this level of quality. I was expecting something more for this price.

I am probably returning this back.
When you got this phone did you get used to the curved screen?
What is watching youtube videos like, does the video play on the curved part of the display as well or only on the flat part?
For me it houses One Handed Operation +.
Vids are gorgeous and the one thing you didn't notice are the perfectly square corners.
I loathe rounded display corners... in person the square corners are quit striking.
I have zero issues with the 10+ display... it's a 10.
I agree with blackhawk, I dislike all these phones with curved corners. Both my phones, Note 10+ and the Mate 30 Pro have square corners and even more than a year later I still find them both stunning.
About the curved screen or should I call them curved edges, that's where I notice uncommanded touches like trying to take a picture but the phone refuses to take the picture because while you hold and try to push the virtual shutter you are touching another part of the display. Both the note and the mate are having this issue so I bought myself a small digital camera to take pictures for work. Although both phones are producing better quality pictures I need something simple, push halfway-focus and snap a picture without having to fight the touchscreen and different modes...

I use the Zizo Bolt case as while it allows display access it has raised side guards that help block accidental touches.
I hold it by the lower left corner or kickstand constantly.
Very grippy and make the 10+ easier to hold and use. It provides excellent drop protection, as I have inadvertently proven with many drops from 2-4 feet onto concrete with zero damage*. Excellent corner, cam and faceplant protection.
The only downside is the kickstand tends to break. At $20 a pop and with aftermarket kickstand available... it's still a great case.
* all those were with just the case and not the clip on holster which adds a total of 3 layers of drop protection. In the holster it's pretty much untouchable except to vehicle run overs
I use the OEM case with integrated kickstand (the ones which lookes like a suitcase on the back) fitted in a encased holster. But even with the OEM case I have accidental touch-inputs. So far I have not "tested" the OEM case. I did "tested" the OEM flipcase cover and it did its job. A lot depends on how the phone hit the deck and on what surface...

I may try this case if I get the note 10+
I looked around and there were very few cases that offered adequate screen protection on the sides.
The few that seemed to offer it was the Iblason cases and the tech 21.

The Bolt is about 2mm higher on the sides and higher on the ends. On a flat surface there is no contact.
Any higher on the sides will grossly interfere with touch usage. As it is occasionally I barely can cut/paste without the spen when closest to the left edge. Of course you can rotate the display but this is awkward to do.
The black/black variant is the most desirable followed by the black/gunmetal variant.
Insert the phone starting with bottom first, it's a tight fit, this way works best. Take care not to displace the screen protector. You may need to trim the top corners very slightly. So far I have not using the Gorilla IQ Sheild but it's damn tight squeeze*. Some Bolt variants come with a screen protector depending on the phone, I have my doubts about those. However I never sampled them.
At $20 a pop it's a cheap experiment and a great case... I have a small stockpile of new ones, that's how much I like it. I will be using the 10+ most likely for a long time.
*I use #600 wet sand paper to wet sand the inner corners slightly so to remove any molding ridges to keep the screen protector from snagging. I've been playing a lot with these cases
