ok i have a 2nd gen kindle and managed to root and install bootloader but when i select recovery it just hangs on booting? i reflashed an older version of twrp still same thing? (solved)
Wait how did you fix it? I'm having the same problem!
I rooted it using this guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2075959, and then I used this guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...light=recovery, to add twrp so I can flash CM. Everything seemed to go well except that I am unable to enter recovery mode. When booting normally it works fine and loads into the kindle OS but obviously, I want to replace that. I have tried searching the forums and trying a few different things but so far nothing has worked.

Hi all, I really tried searching everywhere in the forum to solve my issue and I couldn't find anything specific, so I'll try and explain what's happened to me:
This is the first time I tried to install custom roms in my kindle, so I instaled TWRP and FFF and went to install the Rom I downloaded. I had an error message and just couldn't install it... So I wen't to restore my stock backup and just couldn't either. I then tried to install the stock firmware and what happened is that it didn't install the stock firmware properly!
So I'm stuck at the boot logo image, with no OS and no TWRP, FFF, Root or anything... I connect the kindle to my pc (windows) and open kindle fire utility (0.9.9) and I get ADB Status: Online but Boot Status: Unknown... When I try to reinstall TWRP, KFU tries to reboot it in fast boot mode but gets stuck at waiting for device...
How the hell can I get access to my kindle so I can install TWRP again???

I'm guessing you didn't factory reset in recovery before restoring the stock firmware? You need a factory cable.
same issue but I have twrp and fff on mine
When i got the kindle it had nipad ( everything was in chineese) and stock rom (english) installed. the stock rom kept having errors. I installed twrp and fff on the kindle. during the stock install I must have wiped the os some how. when I try to flash the rom it errors, see attached picture. now it won't go past the kindle fire logo unless i put it in recovery. Thank you for any help.
Ok, so I have a question that either does not exist on Google or that I just don't know how to explain.
My Kindle Fire 2 was flashed a while back with a stock version of Android Jellybean 4.2.2, until today. I made a complete backup of everything inside TWRP and transferred all of those backup files to my laptop. I then flashed a newer version of TWRP, version 2.6.3.1. After that, i flashed the newest version of Cyanogenmod 11, Android 4.4.4.
Anyways, I got to adjusting the settings and told it to allow me to pick between rebooting into recovery or normal mode when i pressed the reboot button on the power menu.
Here is my problem though. At one point, I told Cyanogenmod to reboot me into recovery, and ever since, my Kindle will only let me boot into the TWRP recovery area, regardless of what I tell it to load in the bootloader.
How can I just get it to boot to the normal OS? I've tried reflashing the recovery and reflashing Cyanogenmod onto it. I just don't know what to do because I don't know exactly why this is happening.
I've tried wiping the /data partition too, but to no use. I still am able to wipe internal data partition, however I don't know how it will respond to that. I mean... Isn't that where TWRP is stored? I don't want to lose my recovery partition where I have no way to get back.
If it comes to it, could I replace my recovery partition with Cyanogenmod?
I am still able to use ADB and I'm able to push files. (So far)
Possible solution

I assuming you have a TWRP bootloop problem? Like everytime you reboot it, it shows you the kindel fire logo (organge/white), then to the blue/white logo, and then instead of the normal android ui, it boots into TWRP? If this is the case, have you tried selecting the 'bootmode' option during the kindle fire blue/white logo screen? That was my solution when I had the recovery bootloop problem recently.

I tried telling it to boot normal during that screen. Still goes to TWRP.

Hi I was following the instructions here:
http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s...-how-root-wildfire-s-a510e-gsm-s-finally.html
I got to stage 4A when I have to fastboot the recovery. It seemed to work alright then when I tried to load into recovery it just went to black screen. So I did the alternative and tried to flash TWRP recovery but now it just restarts my phone when I select recovery in the Boot screen.
What shall I do?
I dunno if it is related but google play cannot connect. Everything else works ok.
Maybe if I put the original recovery back on it i can try to get clockwork or the other on there again? Is it because I have a more recent version of the hardware?
Hey guys I had a couple questions regarding rooting the opportunity Find 7a. First off I have ColorOS v 2.1.5i and everytime I try to install TWRP onto it nothing happens, even though the computer says it has been flashed successfully. I restart my phone into recovery mode and the oppo recovery is still there. You guys have any ideas?
Also when I had the older version of colorOS, I could install TWRP but then SuperSU would never work. It kept saying the binaries weren't installed properly. Any ideas on that ?
Your guys help would be appreciated since I really wna root this phone
Thanks
Try fastboot boot nameofrecovery.img it should boot directly into twrp then
I couldn't root my phone in Color Os 2.0.8i untill i reflashed the rom and installed latest twrp then it asked me for root and i pressed ok.
Yea I tried what jthatch12 told me do and it worked and superSu finally installed properly
Hello.
After following this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/development/root-cf-autoroot-twrp-t800-t3079488
I downloaded the AutoRoot with TWRP for SM-T805.
I flashed it using Odin 3.14. The process ended well, however, the tablet won't boot anymore (It shows the splash logo then after about 5 minutes, the Samsung logo shows up and it stays there).
I tried to do a Factory reset on TWRP with no avail.
Altough TWRP works when booting in Recovery mode, I do not know how to boot back into android through it.
(FYI Download mode works)
How do I solve this? How can I revert this?
Thank you all in advance.
Luckily, I've solved this.
I've flashed a different img file, that removed TWRP but rooted my device anyway.
The tablet is now functioning again.
