Just bricked mine installing 9 also. Can't do anything, but mess around in TWRP. LGPNST won't detect my phone. Stuggling here. I guess I need to reactivate the evo for a while. Really pissed.
Hey guys, I've tried installing stock all over again and that won't even work for this problem. what a conundrum.

the easy way to get back on your phone is doing the restore method using lgnpst tool..there are differents methods guides..
1)AutoLGNPST-tSilenzio.zip
2)LGNPST-PhantomPhreak53.zip
3)lgnpst-shelnutt.zip
so with these tools you can go back to v7 fool unroot and then update it to v8 and v9 ,just you want to make sure if your phone can get the download mode,,,for more information you can go to irc freenode guyz its is a private chat,,,and then ask them about the lgnpst tools link,im sure they will give you more information about it,,,they have the link for both software restore(v7 and v9 .tot files)if not i posted in general the v9 .tot file link, dont worry your phone still alive,i hope adb to push files directly to custom recovery it doesnt work so the easy and method way is restore it!!!

Accessing Recovery Screen (First Step if you have bricked your phone)
This is our initial step for any problems that might arise. If you can access recovery, usually you're in a perfectly fine situation.
1. Power off your phone by holding Volume down & power at the same time.
2. When the screen shuts off, switch to entering fastboot by holding Volume Up & Power. Release immediately once you see a black screen with some text on the bottom.
3. You should see a black screen with some text at the bottom.
4. Press volume down 2x and then the power button.
5. You should see either TWRP or CWM recovery.
6. Wipe Cache, Dalvic Cache, and Factory Wipe
7. Flash new stock zip. Wipe caches again.
8. Restart.

Well good new here for all that brick is that you can go to any sprint store and exchange it as a defective device, but please do all you cn to get it back into working order, simply because Sprint does not have an official rooting policy it simply states "if phone appears rooted , make a note and continue as normal"
Now be ready with the correct verbage as everything in the Sprint world is at managers discretion which simply means a manager can say no and you would have to take it to retention, no body wants this. So just be cool and tell them you did the OTA and this is what happened simple as that. If worse comes to worse just tell ask them to DHRP it since the phone is so new you will get a new 1 anyways.
BUT PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL US INCLUDING YOURSELF GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT AT RETURNING IT TO STOCK , IF YOUR HAVING TROUBLE HIT UP SOME OF THE DEVS ON GTALK , Im sure one of them or I if I am home will do our best to walk you through it.
Hey all i forgot i posted this thread awhile ago sorry kinda just me n my bro went hard at work and finally fixed the phone and i found the probelm.. At the IRC at the time there were different versions of LGNPST i used the one directed to in the guide i used and that was the autoLGNPST and it was version 1.3 but it never recognized the device in download mode so my bro said it had to be a driver issue so im like ok we find a few drivers install just to make sure and at that point we knew that the computer was reconizing the phone because on ADB we can push a file through and i can install a ROM which i did but for some reason it never could install.. it was the lifeless ROM and dont worry i cleared everything but it never booted after that just kept booting into CWM. So im like ok i bring it to the sprint store the next day the Technician wasent there that day so i hada wait till the next day but that night i tried one more time 2 fix this thing and turns out that day the IRC puts up new files and it was a new version of autoLGNPST v2.2 or v2.3 i believe new DLLs and a new .bin file for ZV7 and the old ones were corrupt i used the new files a viola IT WORKED!! BUT... i cant for the life of me get a flippin ROM on here dont matter which ROM i try or if i use CWM or TWRP i cant get a ROM on always either the install fails or i install it and it reboots but just comes up with a blank screen after the LG logo and mind u i use the AiO tool on the forums to unlock the bootloader and root it and install TWRP or CWM and im on ZV8 when im installing them n ive tried many many times and i just wind up LGNPSTing it again backups never work either any help with this would be greatly appreciated

This is what my LGNPST does, it shows an error at 85% saying
"Process: Upgrade_Masterbin
"Subproc : Masterbin Donwload
Cause: Download Failed"
I did what you suggested (hold the power button until the phone powers on? rather powers off, right?) I am in donwload mode and tried taking out the battery and restarting into download mode and repeating the flashing process (unitl 85%) various times... always with the same error message as a result... what is the problem?

You managed to solve it
Should get it tomorrow - used E980(ATT)
My plan is to OTA update (wifi) to the latest (May 2014 (h) I believe)
Then towel root to root it (latest I could find is 111KB)(2 locations including the lambda)
Then play install SuperSU and install that (I normally flash SuperSU from recovery after flashing a ROM(and gapps))
Then, if root tests okay:
install FreeGee from play and run it to unlock BL and flash recovery (probably Philz, or CWM since BlissPop seems to have trouble with TWRP)(or versa visa)(darn)
Intent is to then upgrade stock to make it usable (apps and all)(TiBkpPro, etc), and then back it up and play with BlissPop and/or CM11N, and whatever.
Anyone see any problems with my plan?
THANKS!!!

but, since you've got TWRP, bootloader is unlocked, ergo, stock is rooted. Try install SuperSU from googleplay, and run it. Check with checkroot app. Dunno as I am not at all experienced with any LGOGP. Good luck!!!

It's rooted after I found a method. Using Korean G Pro root method than I manage to flash recovery via flashify. Other recovery that require's loki I am unable to use it, cannot flash CM11 ROM's on it.
Like this, if I can't put CM on it I leave it in drawer pending for selling. P/s: I didn't use the phone more than 4 hours. LOL

Uh, yeah - you were off topic, HOWEVER, it appears that freegee is not working correctly as it failed on my E980. I used that app to send shellnut an email, so hopefully he sees that and fixes that if possible. (Note, my E980 arrived with 20h - ie - current.
So while waiting for that, at least I have root so I will go ahead and spruce up stock and back it up. if it doesn't get fixed, I will be relatively happy on stock as many seem to like that best.

However, I have no way to flash anything other than stock as freegee doesn't work and the thing, I think it was you, suggested(G Pro Recovery GK), didn't either.

Why doesn't Freegee work? I know I could never get it to work unless I flashed the Sphinx GPro recovery first, as Freegee wouldn't recognize my e980 as worthy until I did so. Then after that Freegee would open-arm me and let me pick between its CWM or TWRP recovery. (I don't bother with any of those anymore, as I've put together a batch file that does it all in one swoop, as I'm constantly flashing my phone, and I can't be bothered with Towelroot or Freegee's online-only crap. So there.)
The game goes:
- Root.
- (I always install the ADBD Insecure app here, as you can then remount the system as read/write, full root access via ADB, so no more clock-blocking to impede your dominance.)
- Flash Sphinx GPro Recovery, but *do not* reboot into it, as you *will* get errors when you try to flash most anything. Instead, directly after install the recovery from Sphinx GPro:
- Install Freegee and now that GPro recovery is flashed, Freegee will recognize your device and should work flawlessly.
There is also the option of flashing the TWRP 2.8 from the Sphinx GK Recovery, as it is by far the very nicest recovery option for this device. It is, however, buggy, and not rock-solid like the Freegee TWRP. There is also Philz recovery, which has a lot more features than CWM, but every time I've used it (many times), it has gave me problems and forced me to flash back to stock. IMHO: Freegee's CWM or TWRP is the way to go for stability, and the way to go for successful flashing.
(Note: this is for an e980, anything else is uncouth.)
Thanks for reply!
okay, what I did was
(run towelroot and install SuperSU (from play), run that and reboot)
install "adbd insecure" (from play) and checked both boxes
ran sphinx gpro recovery 6044 (link above) but didn't reboot.
ran freegee and had it install cwm6047
Now how do I boot into cwm : vol-up+power !
EDIT: don't forget to put this on your SD card http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-pro/help/guide-how-to-fix-recovery-bootloop-t2950716 so you can escape the boot to recovery loop.

From device off:
- Hold VOL+ and POWER key together until you the LG logo comes up, then briefly let go of the power button then immediately press down again, while still holding the VOL+ button, and hold it until the LG logo screen disappears, then let go of both of those buttons and tap VOL-, VOL-, POWER -- do not hold, just tap (I'm not certain this last step is needed, but it doesn't hurt, as long as you don't hold the buttons down, just tap, quickly press.
That'll get you into TWRP.
Or you can boot up the device entirely, normally and use ADB to do it,
via a shell/console/command prompt:
adb devices <---- this should read 'device' and not unauthorized.
adb reboot recovery <---- this will reboot your device in recovery mode.
If you get into TWRP and the touchscreen doesn't work, that can be fixed/bypass by initiating a device reset from a cold boot (holding down both volume buttons and power button until it asks for Reset, then pressing power again to go for it). Sometimes it's a problem, but since you did GPro over kitkat first, probably not.
EDIT: okay, I see CWM is now on the menu: same deal, just ignore the touchscreen TWRP part, as you'll probably be thankful to *not* use the touchscreen in CWM (it's a bit annoying and laggy, but usable, whereas TWRP w/o touchscreen is worthless).

Thanks, but 'XDA Guidelines, Standard Conduct, and Practices, Vol. VI' maintains that all donations less than 6 digits in size, must be funneled into at least one of these prequalified outlets, and I quote,
- Taking mom out for pancakes.
- Spoonfeeding a homeless person two cheeseburgers (lullaby optional).
- Scratch & Lose lottery ticket surreptitiously deposited into a place where the results of discovery can be viewed and enjoyed.
- Chili dogs.
- Cat litter + shelter/pound = not quite chili dog-level, but quite admirable.
...
and it goes on, so forth, in that manner. I'd just dump it all into a Galaga machine anyways.
Hello all, I have searched for more than a couple hours and just seem to be getting nowhere. Here's the deal: I have an HTC One M8 with TWRP, root, an unlocked bootloader and S-ON. I want to install Lollipop, but can't take the OTA.
I know a little bit about what I'm doing, I tried to flash a rooted stock ROM but it didn't take. I wiped all directories but the internal storage. Also wiped the Dalvik, `but I could not get the update to take. I tried a few other things but out of fear of bricking my phone I wasn't very adventurous. I flashed the backup I made beforehand and it worked fine.
I think I have the wrong file...? Could my S-ON be the problem?
Sprint HTC One M8 (HK edition)
Android: v4.4.4
Sense: v6.0
Kernel: 3.4.0
Baseband: v1.08.20.0916
Build:3.31.654.2
All I want to do is flash lollipop. Will I have to lock the bootloader and go back to stock recovery to do it? Can I use adb sideload to install it via adb?
Thank you for your time.

I'm pretty sure my phone is toast.
PLEASE HELP, it worked just fine before I took your advice...
I relocked the bootloader and verified it multiple times before doing this. I made sure everything was exactly the way it was explained in the instructions, all files were correct.
I put the phone into fastboot, which I verified with adb.
I ran the Sprint_HTC_One_M8_HK_4.20.654.10_RUU .exe file and followed the instructions.
Both the program and pphone are currently frozen. They have been this way for almost 2 hours now.
The phone is stuck at the black HTC splash screen and the installer says

I ran the Sprint_HTC_One_M8_HK_4.20.654.10_RUU .exe file and followed the instructions.
Both the program and pphone are currently frozen. They have been this way for almost 2 hours now.
The phone is stuck at the black HTC splash screen and the installer says
I haven't done anything, its still plugged in.
I don't know what to do, can I just unplug it and flash my bavkup with TWRP?
PLEASE HELP I'M FREAKING OUT.

Ok, the phone is not recognized by adb but is still recognized by fastboot, can I reboot it into TWRP by using
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
then just flash the backup I made before all this crap started?
*EDIT* RESOLVED
Never mind, I resolved it myself. I just typed
Code:
fastboot reboot
and hit enter. It booted right up.

I looked through it and all user made folders are gone, but all user downloaded apps are still there. I also noticed that superSU root access was off, but the 'apply on boot' option was turned on, could this be what crashed the updater?
followed a tutorial (Cnncted's youtube clip - How to root the ASUS ZenFone 2 ) to root
Accidentally (very stupid) pressed the update option when an OTA update showed up yesterday (Jul 8 2015), and after that the phone won't start properly - stopped at in search of incredible...
No luck with trying to boot into recovery mode (power + volume up). It just vibrates once and the screen is black. Trying to flash recovery image with ADB and flashtool etc, but the MTP usb connection failed. If I connect it to the PC using the USB cable and then press the power button to turn it on (stuck in that ..."incredible" screen), device manager shows the Z200AD name with a yellow exclamation mark beside, and Asus ZenUI software will automatically start. But it's not really recognized by the PC.
So...if you have any suggestions for me to try, please let me know and that would be greatly appreciated!
Harry
p.s. This is a US version, so the it's the WW sku?
Same problem here. I have a rooted 551ML and on July 6th I received an OTA update. I installed it and I'm stuck in boot loop. I have hundreds of family pictures in the internal memory.
The good news is that I have access to boot loader and recovery.
I could not find any custom recovery for Zenfone 2. They are not out yet, right? Is there any way to copy the internal memory of the phone (that doesnt load the OS) to the SD card? Or to paste a file img.boot taken from a downloaded official rom and copy it over the corrupted one on the phone's memory?
If you can access the bootloader, you can do this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-to-apply-ota-bootloop-rooted-zf2-t3127835
Btw, there is a custom recovery out there (TWRP, check the Development section), but you will need an unlocked bootloader to use it in your state (I think).
US version is the WW SKU btw. Hope this helps.

Joel, thanks a lot! I will give it a try.
fingers and toes crossed...
I faced this problem too. All I did was to flash the boot.img of my version using fastboot,
Then I flashed the firmware, without factory reset I started the phone.
I was continiously getting an error "com.android.process has stopped". Ignoring that, I just backed up my whole data. Did a factory reset. Updated
Boom!! Everything was normal... I hope this helps
Just a quick update - followed the method in the link that Joel referred to, and everything worked beautifully. I did get two error messages like “the contact stopped working..." “The process android.process.acore has stopped working.” I fixed this problem by clearing the data/cache from the "contact" app, and that did the trick without a factory reset etc.
I unrooted the device using SuperSU. The fastboot screen, however, still shows a random serial number 0123456789ABCDEF. Is there a way to revert it back to the real one? I do see the real one from settings - about - status.

Isn't everyone serial number the same? mine is.
This is something that I am not sure of. Yours has been rooted as well?
I would like to know what the fastboot screen looks like before rooting.

Pretty sure rooting didn't affect my fastboot screen at all.
actually i rooted my zenfone 2 and there was an OTA and i tried to install it without un-rooting my phone. the phone would not turn on and it gets stuck in the boot animation.
the phone wasn't detected by the ADB in my pc so i thought of installing some custom recovery, thought that could help.
i tried installing TWRP but i did not unlock the bootloader and now i am not able to enter in recovery mode either, everytime i try to get in the recovery modethe phone restarts and goes to fastboot mode.
please help.

I was having a similar issue where adb wouldn't recognize my phone but fastboot was detecting it. What I ended up doing was grabbing the latest stock firmware zip from asus, transferring it to my external sd card via adapter and renamed it to MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip. Then go into fastboot (restart with volume up key) and proceed to recovery. It should automatically update your system from there. The only bummer is having to re-configure everything.

i tried it with prerooted as well as the stock rom, it did not work for me. isn't there any way to flash CM12.1 using the fastboot ?
So. Recently, I got CyanogenMod 13 on my Gpad. Everything was just fine. Then I installed the Magisk Manager, which, for some reason, disabled the root access on the device. When I uninstalled it, my recovery (TWRP) asked me, if I want to install SuperSU. I selected yes. And that's the moment when everything fcked up. After SuperSU installation, my tablet went into bootloop, and I wasnt't even able to enter recovery via button combination. I tried to flash the stock rom via LG Flash Tool, but failed miserably. I tried multiple stock roms, but the result is till the same: I can't access the Factory Reset via buttons, the system keeps rebooting, and even if it boots for few seconds, the touchscreen isn't responding. I even tried connecting mouse via USB otg, but no success. Is my tablet dead? Is there any chance of repairing it?
Thank you for your help.
EDIT: It's v500 European version.

nope, it's not death (yet)... The buttoncombo to enter might be a problem, but keep trying. If really nothing goes, try connecting to your PC and open a commandline. Type : adb reboot recovery (preferably from a linuxbox). However, make sure you got a ROM, GApps and SU system 2.78 or 2.79 ready on the SD. Personally I recommend @adrianom AOSP 7.1.1, OpenGApps micro and SU 2.79 SR2'systemmode.
Cheers

Thank you for your reply.
However:
I am not able to stay in the system.
I am not able to enter the recovery. (because of the brick)
I am not able to enter ADB, because there's just no way how. I have USB debugging disabled by default (because I tried to reset the system using LG Flash Tool) and I can't use ADB in the download mode.
Actually, download mode is the only thing that hasn't broke yet. I still hope that someone that has experienced similar problems help me.
But again, thanks for your (and the only) reply.

If you can get into download, you could connect to a PC and start the LG-tools.Use that to restore to the original ROM and start allover again with latedt software (TWRP, ROM, SU)
Cheers
